Hey! Rebecca, I'm working on your one after this!

Enjoy!

"It's just fantastic," Jerome laughed, leaning back in his chair, Alfie sat beside him, laughing too. "I mean...I never wanted to be an actor, but I'm serious, being famous...does not suck. I'm a somebody. Everyone loves me." He ran a hand through his perfect blond hair, he was well dressed, and totally content.

"Not to mention that you're now dating 'Most Beautiful Woman 2013' Amber Milllington!" Alfie cheered, he chewed on a bar of chocolate "You are so lucky, she's absolutely gorgeous." Mara muttered something in anger from the corner of the room and Alfie frowned, Jerome turned.

"Jaffray?" Jerome called to his best friend "What's wrong?"

"Nothing! Nothing's wrong with me!" she snapped. Jerome and Alfie met each other with wide eyes and Jerome stood warily. She sighed, turning around, running a hand through her dark hair as they were all in Jerome's apartment. His new, stylish, incredibly expensive apartment. "Nothing."

"Um..." Jerome quirked an eyebrow "Mara, I know you-"

"Do you?" she challenged, with a gleam in her eyes.

He frowned at her again "Is this because of Amber?" Her mouth dropped open in outrage and he continued quickly "I mean, you shouldn't be jealous of her, I'm still your best friend-"

"I'm not!" Mara lied loudly. Alfie looked down at his hands

"Guys..." he whispered quietly. But they both ignored him. Alfie sighed to himself. This wasn't going to be pretty.

"Ugh! What is with you? I finally get everything I want! When my life was...when my life was absolute crap before! I'm finally happy!" his eyes glistened with tears. Mara glared at him, slamming her hand down onto the kitchen counter

"What's with me?" she cried in outrage, her fringe flicked into her face and Jerome noted how much younger she looked when she let it. Normally everything was tight and tied back, and professional, here she looked like Mara. The Mara he had grown up with. And with a sudden start, he realised, though he called her his best friend, he didn't really know her that well anymore. "You're the one with the problem! Why do you think she's interested in you? Huh?"

"Jeez Mara, is that what this is?" He managed to laugh in her face, massaging his flawless face with a sigh "I can handle it myself! I know, I know she only likes me because I'm famous, I know!" Mara stared at him in total bewilderment, questioning and analysing his words with confusion "But I don't mind! Because she treats me like a somebody!"

Mara cried out angrily, "Would she love you if you were a nobody?" she screamed

"No!" he retorted, so loudly, the whole apartment shook and Alfie winced "Nobody loved me when I was a nobody!"

"I did!" Mara screamed back immediately, so quickly in fact, that it was a reflex, rather than a thought. Which made everything tremble with truth.

Alfie and Jerome looked up in complete shock.

Mara took a deep breath, her face red, and with jittery movements "I mean...I..." her shoulders slumped, and she couldn't find an excuse to pick herself out from his hole. "I don't..."

"You loved me?" He whispered.

Mara's brown eyes stared into his blue ones "Yes I did. But as you say, time and time, and time again! Nothing was good enough! You complained constantly about your life as a nobody, with nothing good in it! With nothing happy and worth it! And I had to listen to you! Boring and whining and whinging! As you screamed into my ear that nothing was good enough for you!" her voice drifted off slightly "...not even me..." She wiped a few tears away.

Jerome stepped back, his face an expression of hurt, recoiling from her as if he had been slapped by her. Mara's tears were streaming down her face. And Jerome stormed out of his apartment. Mara collapsed against the counter, crying into her knees. Alfie stood up unsurely, and sat beside her.

"Mars..." he whispered. Mara looked up through tears eyes

"Oh I'm sorry Alfie," she whispered, sniffling "I know you hate it when people cry,"

"Hey," he whispered, wiping away one of her tears, and smiling gently "It'll be alright,"

Line Break

"Hey..." Jerome whispered, after Mara opened her door. Jerome smiled to himself, this little cottage she lived in...it had ben so long since he had come to her, she'd always been visiting him. Mara looked down at the yellow dress she was wearing

"Why do you have flowers?"

Jerome looked at them, and suddenly felt very foolish. "Silly really..." he muttered under his breath, glittering blue eyes desperate to meet hers, but she refused to look up "Flowers...I...oddly enough...I think it's from playing Aaron in that stupid romcom, makes me believe that bringing a woman flowers will fix all the wrong doings..." he managed a small laugh, but Mara didn't join in. "I'm sorry, Jaffray...I'm so...clueless for not realising. But I know now, isn't that all that matters?" his forehead creased slightly, and he smoothed a hand down his black blazer worriedly. "I love you...completely and utterly in love with you."

"What about..." she looked up at him then, through her long lashes and Jerome's heart melted "Being a somebody?"

"I'm nobody when you're not with me."

It was exactly what he needed to say. Mara leapt into his arms, and buried her face into his neck. "You're not gonna leave me? Are you? For an actress you work with? Who's beautiful and wonderful? And has everything in common with you?" Jerome whispered his promise into her ear, and Mara melted into his chest.

"I'm never leaving you," he whispered, he promised, his own tears sparkling in the sunlight.

The paparazzi put down their cameras for a moment, watching the biggest star of the century cry.

And they left in peace.
