Chapter 19

"That son of a bitch," Finnick murmured. "I'm so sorry Kat. I promise you he won't ever come near you again. If he so much as walks by you I swear to god I will beat the shit out of him." He envelops me in a warm hug. "Does Peeta know?"

I nod. "Yeah he was there that day." I reply.

"Does anyone else from the gang know?" I shake my head no.

"It will be okay Kat everything will be fine."

"I hope so."

"It will. Now come on lets order some pizza and put frozen on. Sound good."

"Sounds great." Finnick phones dominos pizza while I put frozen on.

"Hey Finn I just thought of something. You know you're a 17 year-old boy."

"Well I believe I am." He says with a laugh. I laugh to.

"Why on earth do you have frozen on DVD?" I burst out laughing.

"I don't exactly have an answer to that question." He says and we both end up laughing.

The doorbell rings and Finnick rushes off to get it the door. He comes back with 2 boxes of pizza and we settle on the sofa with open boxes with frozen playing. I open up the Facebook app on my phone and change my relationship status to say in a relationship with Peeta Mellark. After that I write a quick status saying Watching frozen with da bae Finnick Odair. After a few minutes I start getting notifications about comments on my status. The first comment is from Gloss and says where are you? I'll be over in 5 to see my bae olaf in action. The next comment is from Peeta and says Yeah count me in. I wouldn't mind a little snowman building action. The next comment is from Finnick saying Sorry Guys but it's just me and da bae Kat for today. The last two comments were from Peeta and Gloss and they both said pleeeeaaaseeee! I laugh at their comment before typing Let it go boys maybe another time. Before turning of my phone and watching frozen again. I lean on to Finnick and he puts his arm around by shoulders.

*After the movie*

"I should probably get going, my mum will be wondering where I am." I say as I stand and stretch.

"Okay I'll drop you off." Finnick says. He grabs his keys off the table and we both slip on our shoes and climb into his car, literally climb. His car is huge. It's a huge sleek silver jeep.

We arrive at my house and I see that the lights are of showing that no-one is home. We both get out and he walks me to my front door. I wrap my arms around his torso. "Thanks Finnick." I say before taking a step back and looking for my key.

"Its fine Kat just promise me that if that Gale douche person ever touches you again or hurts you in anyway, promise me that you will tell me."

"I will..." I start before I'm cut off from a shout from across the street.

"I didn't realise you were such a slut Catnip. You announce on Facebook your dating that Peeta weirdo only an hour ago and you already cheat. You whore." A familiar voice shouts. I turn and see Gale sauntering over to us. My eyes widen in fear and I grab on to Finn's arm and hide half behind him.

"Oh and now you're a coward. What happened to the catnip I knew?"

"Just leave Gale. I say and at that Finnick stiffens.

"You're telling me this is the guy. This is the douche that... hurt you." Finnick says. I bite my lip and look down giving Finn all the conformation he needs. Finn detaches himself from me and stalks over to where Gale now stands by the entrance to my front yard. His fists clench. "You are a sad excuse for a man." He punches him in the face. "You area despicable human being." Punch "and don't you ever talk to her like that again." Punch. "Now leave while you still have leg function.

I just stand stunned watching the whole event. I hear everything Finn says but it just goes in one ear and out the other. I see Gale stumble backwards and see him taking of down the street. But I don't focus on anything other than the thoughts swimming round my head. Was I cheating? It was only a hug. Will Peeta find out? I hope not. As my thoughts swim around my head and my tears blur my vision all I register is strong arms wrapping around me. Someone guiding me inside. And someone trying to wipe the tears that keep falling from my eyes. The person tries to comfort me but I just can't stop the tears. And then the warmth leaving.

(Finnick's POV)

I guide Kat inside and sit her on the sofa. I try to comfort her. Try to stop her tears. But each tear I wipe away is replaced by 10 more. It's useless. So I stand up and dial Peeta's number into their house phone.

"Hey Kat." Peeta says. He must have caller ID.

"Peet its Finnick..."

"Where's Kat? Is she okay" He asks In a worried tone.

"I'll explain everything later. I just need you to come to Kat's house as soon as possible."

"Is Kat okay?" He questions.

"I'm not exactly sure." I sigh "Just get here as quick as you can."

"On my way." He says and I hear a lot of banging and moving about on the other end before the line goes dead.

So I wait. I try to comfort and then I wait some more. Until there is a loud knock on the door. I get up and rush over to the door.

"Sorry to drag you out but I didn't know what to do." I say but he rushes past me and heads straight towards the living room. I close the door and follow behind him. I walk into the living room to see Peeta cradling her in his arms. I sit on the arm of the sofa.

"What happened?" Peeta questions.

"I dropped her off at her house after we had watched frozen and we hugged and that Gale bastard was across the road. He shouted across to us and he called her certain words... He called her a slut and a whore and told her she was cheating on you." He sighs before stiffening up.

"She cheated on me..." He says in a quiet voice.

"No Peet it was just a hug I swear she's the little sister I never had that would just be weird." I say and watch him relax.

"Okay good and thanks for calling me." He says.

Then I watch him comfort her. He holds her close whispering into her ear. Until she finally stops crying.

"I didn't do anything Peeta. I didn't..." she whispers.

"Shhh I know you didn't." He whispers to her before standing up with her still in his arms. He takes her up the stairs presumably to her room before coming back down.

"Thanks for being there Finn and thanks for calling." Peeta says to me.

"No problem and just so you know I beat the shit out of him pretty well. Is Kat okay?"

He runs his hands through his hair. "I hope so. I'm gonna crash here tonight you can go home if you want. I'll get her to call you in the morning.

"Okay thanks mate." I say and head towards the door. "You're good for her. She needs someone like you. Just make sure you keep her."

He offers a light laugh before saying. "I'll try but you may have noticed that Katniss Everdeen is a broken girl but I'm broken too. I will try my very hardest to put our broken pieces together and give her something whole." And with that I walk out to my car and I hear the front door close.

Peeta is good for Kat she just has to know that he is good for her.
