I do not own Pokémon or the song Everything by Rob Blackridge

May

"Hey why is everyone applauding so loudly for?" Drew questioned as he held open the music bars door for the brunet.

May blushed by his gentleman act, "Maybe we just missed The Secret Keepers performance." She offered an explanation.

Drew shrugged acknowledging her statement as he scanned the clustered dance floor. His eyes widened in shock before a large smile graced his face. May's breath hitched in awe; his smile sending shivers down her spine. She knew it wasn't directed to her, but even so to see him in a moment where he dropped his guard was precious to her.

"June look Briana and James are kissing!" Drew whispered excitedly pointing towards the center of the dance floor.

"Stop calling me that," she punched him playfully before turning her attention to the dance floor. May smiled at the tender sight enfolding before her eyes.

James pulled the auburn haired girl tightly into his chest as they both swayed to the slow melody of a piano. May giggled as Briana buried her face into James chest her cheeks a deep scarlet color after James whispered something to her.

"They're so adorable," a soft voice said from beside her, "By the way the boys are looking for you Drew." Esme informed him.

May waved goodbye to him as he made his way backstage a blush visible on her face; something that didn't get missed from Esme.

"Why were you two so late May hmm?" Esme teased poking her on the side.

May's blush deepened as she remembered the afternoon she had spent with Drew. She cleared her throat nervously, "We were working on a new chorography and I guess we lost track of time."

Her eyes glazed over as she reminisced on her afternoon.

Flashback…..

After their morning class May had stayed behind to work on a special chorography she'd began working on after she realized her emotions for Drew. She'd just turned the music on and began stretching when Drew had walked back into the studio to retrieve his phone.

"Hey what are you still doing here?" He asked leaning against the mirrored wall.

May turned in surprise her cheeks flushed in embarrassment, "Dancing obviously," she huffed trying to hide her nerves.

She reached for the remote and lowered the music, "Forgot your phone again huh?"

He glanced down at his phone and shrugged, "My minds been occupied with more important things."

"Oh like what?" May asked as she pulled her hair back into a ponytail. Even though she already had an inkling as to what those "things" were.

Drew flicked his hair back and dropped his bag next to the door. He strode confidently towards her and smirked as she yelped in surprise as he pulled her closer to him.

"Dance with me," he asked already swaying to the slow melody of a violin blended together with the piano.

May blushed as the lyrics began to flow from the stereo, "I don't know Drew I- Hey stop it" She laughed as Drew twirled her around.

She gulped nervously feeling his hands wrap around her waist. His face was so close she could see every detail of his face. From the curvature of his nose to his emerald eyes, and his lips that were now in a small smile. May looked away trying to hide her blush.

"Come on July you owe me a dance anyway," he stated with authority although May could detect a playful tone in his voice.

She rolled her eyes but sighed in resignation, "Okay how about this I'll dance with you only of you promise to stop with the name calling."

"Deal," Drew responded eagerly his smile growing making Mays heart beat crazily in her chest.

He lead her into the center of the studio and bowed to her presenting her his hand for her to take it. May rolled her eyes at him playfully but she took his hand and gasped as he pulled her in once again into his strong arms. She blushed more as she took in the words of the song.

As they waltz in a circle May found her senses became overloaded with the essence of Drew. His hands sent electric waves down her spine, and his body bathed her in warmth. She sighed feeling content in this moment; feeling safe and at home in his arms. May hesitated before placing her head on the crock of his neck wanting to be closer. She smiled breathing in his familiar smell of roses. Drew chuckled and placed his head above her head.

His soft voice began to hum the song until slowly he began to sing the words. May pulled away slightly and looked into his eyes. Her face instantly flushed as he gazed back at her with intensity his eyes burning with devotion. Instantly, she felt her stomach flutter and her heart burst with happiness. She smiled up at him before cuddling into his chest.

A brand new horizon is opening

I'm hoping we don't miss this moment

You show me how life is worth living

I have no doubt it's all about giving

I'm reaching out right here right now

Don't you see I'd give you everything?

He twirled her out of his arms but he kept his gaze focused on her as he sung the final three versus. May could feel every ounce of love and sincerity that he poured into his voice. He began to walk towards her closing the small distance that was between them.

Everything I thought never would now is happening

A brand new horizon is opening for you and me

Drew reached with his hand and cupped her cheek his voice now only a whisper but still ethereally beautiful to her ears.

Don't you see I'd give you everything?

Yes she could see he would do anything to make her happy. The past few weeks were prove of that. She loved him and she knew that, but she also knew she was not ready to jump into another relationship; especially not with Drew, because he was not another crush. He was someone that meant the world to her and the last thing she wanted to do was hurt him.

Drew continued to close the space between them and now their breaths mingled with one another. Drew slowly began to close his eyes as their mouths nearly touched. May cringed as she made up her mind.

She gently pushed him away and laughed nervously, "Man it's crazy how in the moment you can get by a song huh Drew?"

Drew chuckled, "Yeah crazy May," he responded forcibly.

May bit her lip nervously, "Um Drew I have a confession."

Drew looked up expectantly his eyes focused on her hopefully.

"I know how you feel about me and I um well I feel the same way."

Drew pulled her into his arms again and placed his forehead on hers, "Do you really?"

May nodded bashfully, "I do but Drew I need some time. I'm just not ready for a relationship yet."

Drew cupped her face in his hand his thumb rubbing soothing circles on her skin, "May take all the time you need I'll be here waiting." He whispered before wrapping her in a tight embrace.

(AT THE MUSIC BAR)

Esme laughed at her dazed expression and grabbed her hand leading her to their usual table near the stage. May smiled seeing the new additions to their group. Ashley was sitting next to her sister in law Alexis. While Marki, Lily, Jaycie, and Dawn were standing around their table dancing to an upbeat song that was blaring form the speakers. Misty was returning from the smoothie bar with a large order of smoothies. May quickly went over and helped lessen her load.

"Thanks they were kinda heavy," Misty confessed bashfully.

May smiled, "Don't mention it Misty."

May passed out the smoothies and plopped herself beside Ashley soon the entire table filled as the girls sat down. Esme laid her head on May's shoulder and sighed contently, "So who else is ecstatic that Briana finally got her man" she giggled.

"I think it's safe to say we're all ecstatic," Marki stated happily grabbing her smoothie and taking a large sip.

Dawn nodded in agreement, "Not just Briana from what I saw a little while ago it seems as you my little Esme are very serious with Sky."

Esme blushed, "It was just a kiss," she stuck her tongue out at the blunett, "Besides what about Misty she's dating Ash!" she yelled and then covered her mouth in surprise, "Oh I'm sorry Misty I forgot it was a secret."

"Wait what you're dating Ash?" May asked excitedly.

"Since when?" Alexis poked the red head beside her.

Misty blushed and rubbed the back of her head embarrassedly, "I was going to tell you all the day it happened, but well that was the night Dawn and Paul broke up so.." she trailed off shrugging.

Dawn cringed guiltily, "Oh Mist you should have told us anyway!"

Misty waved it off, "Well we were going to tell you guys tonight but looks like Esme beat us to it," she laughed at Esme's blush.

"Girls it looks like the guys are up to perform," Ashley commented clapping enthusiastically as the guys walked onstage.

"It looks like Paul is going to sing tonight," May stated as Paul took center stage in front of the microphone.

"Yeah it does I wonder what he's going to sing," Dawn whispered to herself unaware that she had spoken aloud. The girls glanced nervously at one another.

May reached over and grabbed her hand, "You know he really misses you."

Dawns eyes misted over with tears, "I know May… I miss him too," she confessed.

"Dawn I think you should direct your attention to the stage," Marki said in between giggles.

May glanced towards the stage and gasped, "Wow he's really trying to win you over."

May laughed at Dawns shocked expression as she took in the slideshow being projected behind the boys. It showcased pictures of Paul and Dawn in their happiest moments. From their senior Prom, to Homecoming, and all their holidays spent together.

Paul directed his stare to their table and his eyes zeroed in on Dawn. "This song is for you Troublesome," he smirked playfully before nodding to his band mates to begin playing.

"I told him to not call me that," Dawn huffed but there was a smile on her face.

May leaned back into the cushioned seat and smiled up at the stage as a picture from their senior prom popped up. She was in the middle with Dawn as a smirking Drew and scowling Paul were in the back. She blushed as her eyes locked with Drew's. Her stomach began to summersault and she smiled up at him, and as she continued to gaze into his eyes she knew in the depths of her mind that she was already a goner.
