-Ashley's POV-

I thank whoever is up there controlling my fate for giving me the lucky seat. I guess I always had been lucky in being a chance passenger ever since but it doesn't mean I didn't have a hard time. Well to start with there are no red eye flights from New York to LA and based on the time most airlines' last flight had already left. I felt so desperate but thankfully it was a Monday and there was one more plane I could catch which unfortunately was in Newark but as they say when you want it you find ways. So to make my long adventure short I was able to board just a minute before they closed it. Wew!

Rushing to the front desk and half-yelling at the person in there I finally found Shay's room. She was lying on her sides with blood shot eyes probably from crying.

"Shannon how are you?" I asked as soon as I entered the room. She ignored me and turned to the other side of the bed. I shot Sasha a look but she bowed her head and shook it. I noticed the sad look on her face. As if on cue the doctor went in.

"How are they?" He was looking on a chart with a serious look on his face.

"I'm sorry Mrs. Benson, the baby didn't make it" I felt the pain stung on my heart and my body wanted to faint. My legs tremble in horror of the news. I stood there broken hearing the sobs of my wife from the loss of our child

"Shit!" I mumbled as I woke up. It was such a terrible dream and it scared me more. I needed to be at the hospital now. To my relief I heard the announcement that we were already landing. That was the longest flight of my life. I rode a cab to our house just to drop off my luggage. The blood stain on the couch didn't fail to catch my attention. I got more alarmed seeing it. The baby didn't make it. I remembered what the doctor said on my nightmare. I grabbed my car keys and drove to the hospital as fast as I could. I informed Sasha that I made it to LA and that I was on my way to the hospital. She replied just as I pulled in to the parking space at the back of the hospital.

'When you get here use the emergency room entrance and tell the guard who you are and someone will be guiding you to her room. We asked assistance from the hospital so we could keep things private.'

I wore my glasses to hide my face. One can never be too cautious. I followed Sasha's instructions and now a tall guy was leading the way. I could feel my heart wanting to jump out of my chest with every step. We finally reached her room and I thanked him for the help. I opened the door and saw my mom and Sasha inside. Shay was sleeping on the bed with IV inserted on her left hand.

"Mom you're here" I said as she hugged me.

"Sasha called me and I came right after" I hugged her back

"Thank you Squasha" I hugged her too.

"Don't mention it Ash. I also called Shay's mom, she's flying in as soon as she can and the girls promised to come back tomorrow too" She said and I walked to Shay's side and kissed her forehead. I then held the back of her right hand to my cheeks. Oh my poor Shannon.

"I'm sorry" I said to her as I brush her hand on my cheek. Tears made its way on my face. "How is she? What happened? Is the baby okay?" I asked the two other girls on the room.

"She was crying on her room but I managed to drag her out of there and watch a movie with me. She was clenching her abdomen from time to time. When she went to the kitchen to get some water I saw the bloodstain on the couch so I went to check on her then she was clenching her abdomen back and then there was blood dripping on her legs. She was bleeding and I got so scared so I brought her here" Sasha explained to me what happened and then it hit me. She was crying because of me.

"It's my entire fault. I would never forgive myself if something happens to her and our baby. This is my fault" My mom wrapped her arms at me as I sobbed.

"Don't say that sweetie. It's no one's fault and the doctor said she'll be fine. She just have to stay in bed and keep herself away from stress" she tried to console me and Sasha looked at me sympathetically.

"No mom. Shay and I had a misunderstanding. We fought on the phone and it got out of hand. When she said that it was over I told her it was fine. I wasn't thinking well." My mom detached herself away from me.

"Ashley Victoria! That must have been why she was so upset. Your wife is pregnant for God's sake. I know it's a handful but please honey take hold of yourself." She said in disappointment

"I know mom. I-I have no excuse for my behavior and I learned my lesson…the hard way" I went back to caressing Shay's hand. She slept so soundlessly. "You two can head home now. I'll stay here"

"You look so exhausted Ash why don't you take a rest at home til the morning and I'll stay here" Sasha offered.

"No. I want to be here when Shay wakes up besides I think they would only allow immediate family to be here" It was hospital policy but I guess they somehow made an exemption.

"Oh don't worry about that. We talked to the management and they agreed that we could stay here, me as a guardian and your mom well she's the patient's mother in law. They also understood the thing with the paparazzi around." I smiled at Sasha in gratefulness but turned her offer down. I know I'm the one who should be staying in here.

-Shay's POV-

I felt a weight on my stomach as I woke up. I looked around the room, it was not familiar and then I remembered that I was in the hospital. I checked out whose arm was on my and it somehow surprised me that it was Ashley. She was sitting on the chair with her head laid on the bed with one arm on me and the other hand clutching mine. I stared at her for a while. Oh Shay how stupid are you for thinking you could live without that sleeping blonde right there.

"Hey. You're awake" I was too lost staring at her that I didn't notice that she had already woken up. Our eyes met and I could see the mixture of exhaustion, love and worry on her blue eyes.

"I'm sorry" we both said at once. We chuckled at how we still had these moments where we say something at the same time without the intention to do so.

"How's our baby?" I asked her hoping that nothing bad had happened to our precious one

"Baby's okay. You just need to stay in bed for a while but nonetheless everything's good." I smiled at the news. I sighed in relief.

"Ash about what I said…" she cut me mid sentence

"Forget about it, just go back to sleep okay? You shouldn't be stressed out and I don't want to be the one doing it to you." I made a mental note to apologize to her when I woke up.

"Only if you sleep with me" She smiled grimly and I realized how it sounded. "I mean you sleep beside me you perv"

"I like the first one sounded" She laughed but not too loud. I pouted at her. "Come on Shannon we won't fit in that tiny bed"

"We would if you'd cuddle with me and be the big spoon" she smiled and I knew that I won

"Fine. Move over" I moved to my side to make space for her small stature to fit in. Her front body was pressed on my back. One of her arm was draped on my shoulder while the other one wrapped protectively on my stomach. My body relaxed on her and I could feel her do the same.

"How did you get here so soon?" I was about to doze off when something came up to my mind.

"I find ways" her voice sounded hoarse most likely with the drowsiness taking in on her.

"That's why I love you" I turned around and kissed her lips. A taste of heaven here on earth.

"And I love you too…sooooooo much" she said in the usual tone she uses when she tells me after the kiss ended. She pecks my forehead, my nose and finally my lips one last time. "Now let's get some rest" That night I slept in peace knowing everything fell right into place.
