Author's Note:
1) I'm sorry for spelling errors, it's mainly because my keyboard is awful :/
2) I'd really appreciate it if you fav/follow and review :)
3) Two quick chapters in a row! I'm on fire! xD
4) When I really get into this whole Author's Note thing, you'll be seeing a lot of xD's, I really like that emoticon/emoji thingy!
5) In answer to a few of the reviews: I'm not really a fan of long, drawn-out descriptions in my writing, so my chapters are often quite short, but that's how I like writing, so... yeah. I think I would be better at writing playscripts but who cares! xD
Now, to the chapter...
'Okay, so. We need to -watch that drop- get to WindClan and try to help Mistyfoot. When we're there, I'll go straight in and cause a distraction. You hang back and then get in and try and help her. Also try and find Firestar, but don't hang around too long. We don't want you -oops, nearly fell over- getting caught as well.' Brambleclaw told Sorreltail as they ran through the undergrowth.
'Kay. But I can fight as well if you need.'
'No, I have something else I need to deal with as well...'
Sorreltail knew him well enough not to ask any more questions.
They were nearly there when suddenly they were greeted with an awful sight. Sorreltail screamed at the horror of what they saw before them, and Brambleclaw suddenly felt like being sick.
Mistfoot lay before them, disembowelled and in a pool of blood.
'Sh-sh-shall we g-go b-back?' Sorreltail asked.
'We need to find Firestar...' Brambleclaw's head was spinning, and he was torn. 'You go back and bring reinforcements. And ShadowClan, if you can.' I'll keep going.'
He turned and forced himself to jog on.
'Brambleclaw.'
He turned. 'Yes?'
There was a pause. 'Be careful.'
He smiled wearily, and continued on.
He got to the edge of WindClan territory quite quickly. Brambleclaw suddenly felt quite alone, and he wanted the reinforcements to hurry up.
He climbed up the hill and kept as low to the ground as he could. Great. The one territory with zero shelter. Just what I need for a stealth mission.
He wandered what they could have done to Firestar and shuddered. Wait? why would they kill Mistyfoot outside their territory? Unless it was a warning... In which case they must've know he was coming. He smelt the WindClan ambushers before he saw them. He batted off the first couple of them but as they kept coming, he turned and ran as fast as he could from the pursuers.
Through the forest he sprinted, going (as much as possible) in circles to try and keep vaguely near to the place where Sorreltail had left him. He was tiring, and he knew the WindClan warriors would now be trying to surround him. So he did the most stupid thing possible. He turned and ran towards the WindClan warriors.
He slashed through as many as he could before snaking through the trees and trying to take out any stragglers.
Suddenly, a huge WindClan warrior jumped out from behind him. They rolled on the floor for a while, but the other cat was bigger, less tired and he had half of WindClan now around him, so he couldn't really lose.
Mudclaw loomed over Brambleclaw, and with a jolt, the ThunderClan deputy realised that the long, fresh wound on Mudclaw's face had been made in the previous battle, by his very own claws.
Brambleclaw gulped...
