Author's Note: Hi readers! I'm back with chapter 10! I'm sorry if this chapter is kinda short and crappy and boring at the start, but I just wanted to get something out. :\ Anyways, enjoy! :D NOTE: This may be my last update for a little while, as on March 10th, I have to get my 4 wisdom teeth (the teeth that grow in the very back of your mouth from 18-21 years old) removed! D: I hope I don't have any problems, but I should be okay. Sore for a few days, but okay. :)

Thomas arrived to the hospital, with CJ by his side the whole time. The paramedics rushed him on the stretcher into an emergency waiting room. A human doctor came up to them. He was an older man, wore thick glasses, and was balding with only a bit of gray hair on his head.

He spoke, "Hello, sir and madam, I'm Dr. Malkovich." He looked down at the sleeping Thomas, who was becoming paler by the minute, "What happened with him?"

"Well, he had an accident moving some boxes, I guess, and broke his right arm, doctor." CJ replied.

The man stepped over to the goat, examining his arm in the splint, "Hmm. Thankfully, it doesn't appear to be a compound fracture. But, he'll need surgery, now, if we are to repair his bones. Does he have health insurance?"

CJ was panicky, "Uh, I-I don't know. I could call his Mom? What's a compound fracture mean?"

"It means the bone snapped, but didn't come out of his body, otherwise it'd be much worse and most likely a more costly operation..."

The cloud woman relaxed, "Oh. That's good news, I guess...I-I'll be right back..." she looked down at Thomas, picking up his cell phone from his pocket. She frowned, but left the room to call his mother and give her the awful news.

After delivering her the news, she came back, "Yes, Dr. Malkovich, he does have insurance. His mom is on the way over too."

The doctor smiled, "Good, and I'll talk to her after the surgery is complete." He looked over to his two interns, "Prep the patient for surgery, stat. Oh and ma'am, I didn't get your names?"

CJ smiled just a little, "Oh, I'm CJ, and his name is Thomas."

"Well, I wouldn't worry, CJ, Thomas is in our very capable hands." he smiled, then left for the surgery room with Thomas and the interns.

CJ stepped out of the room and waited on his mother to show up.

A few minutes later, she came bursting through the doors, "Thomas?! Oh, where is my sweet little Tommy?!"

A man yelled at her from the front desk, "Hey, stop! He just went in for surgery. You'll have to wait outside, ma'am."

CJ walked over to her, "So...you're Thomas' mom?"

She was frantic, "Yes! Who are you?!"

She put her hands up, "Whoa lady, chill out! I'm CJ, Thomas' girlfriend! I called you on his phone?"

"Oh! I'm sorry, this is just very stressful!" she panicked.

"Don't worry, the doctor must be really good, as he seems to know what he's doing. Please, relax and come sit down with me." she said, trying to console the distraught woman while leading her over to some chairs.

She sat down, "But, what-what exactly happened to Tommy?!"

CJ shrugged, "I'm not really sure. He was moving some boxes. then he fell and his arm somehow broke."

She began to cry, "Oh God! I warned him about continuing to work at the park! It's too dangerous there!"

CJ sat next to her, putting a hand on her shoulder, "Ma'am, he's in good hands. Plus, he's got me and the park there for him...it won't be as bad as you think."

She pulled out a tissue, wiping her eyes, "Thank you, CJ. You know, Thomas has told me he loves hanging out with you."

CJ blushed, "Oh yeah? Well, he's a great guy ma'am. He's sweet and seems to care a lot for me. I like him a lot."

"That's very comforting, CJ. My name is Linda, by the way." she said, sticking out her hand.

CJ shook it, "It's great to actually meet you Linda, even with a crappy moment like this. And I'll watch over Thomas, making sure he's okay."

"Hmm. Well, even though we've just met, I feel I can count on you, CJ." she smiled.

CJ yawned, "Thanks. Hey, maybe we should take a quick nap. I'm kinda worn out from today's events."

"Yes, a nap would be nice..." she agreed.

Three hours later, Dr. Malkovich came out of the surgery room. He walked over to the sleeping women, "Hello? CJ? Ma'am?"

CJ rubbed her eyes open, "What? Oh, it's just you..." She nudged Linda awake, "Hey Linda, Dr. Malkovich is here now."

"Huh?" She opened her eyes and sat up like a rocket, "Oh, doctor! How is my baby boy?! Is he-" she started to yell, but CJ put her hands on the female goat, motioning for her to calm down a bit.

Dr. Malkovich smiled, "Ma'am, he's fine. The surgery went off without a hitch. We had to put a metal plate with screws in to hold the bones in place, as his radius and humerus had snapped in the middle of the respective bones. He's resting in Room 203, but won't be awake for a bit."

Linda heaved a huge sigh of relief, "Thank God, he's alright!" his mother exclaimed.

"Yes, but he will have some needs after he leaves the hospital tomorrow." the doctor said.

"So, he can't leave tonight...?" CJ asked.

"No. I'm sorry, but he needs to stay overnight so we can monitor him in case there are any...complications."

Linda's eyes widened, "Like-like what?"

The doctor sighed, looking over his chart, "Well, a slowed heartbeat, low blood sugar, those sort of things. Some patients become so relaxed when sleeping under the medication that their heartbeat lowers to where we need to wake them up so they won't stop breathing."

She put her hand to her mouth, "Oh my..."

CJ spoke, "What 'needs' will he, um, need, sir?"

"Oh, just some basic things: helping with putting his clothes on, getting him food, water, but most importantly, making sure he gets to physical therapy later on."

CJ couldn't help but blush, 'I'm gonna help him put his clothes on?!'

"Oh and he will have to come back in about a month to get his hard-cast removed and replaced. You also must avoid getting the inside wet with water, as this can cause sores on the skin. We put him in a makeshift cast for now, but does the young man have a favorite color? I'm sure that might make him smile." the doctor chuckled.

"Yes sir, it's black."

"Hmm...a black hard-cast it is then." He glanced over to Thomas' mother, "Well, Linda, is it? I need you to fill out some insurance and personal paperwork for Thomas, if you don't mind?"

"Yes, doctor, that's fine."

An intern came over with a stack of papers and a pen, "Please fill these out completely, ma'am."

After filling out all the paperwork, Linda and CJ went into Thomas' room. They saw him in the hospital bed, hooked up to an IV, with his right arm completely immobile.

Linda approached him and stroked his hair, "Oh, my poor Thomas..."

His eyes slowly opened. He croaked out, "Mom? Is-is that you?"

She smiled, "Yes, it's me son. How are you feeling?"

"Um, well my-my throat's really, really dry..."

"Oh, CJ can you get him some water?"

Suddenly, the doctor entered, "CJ? Where are you going?"

She was confused, "Uh, to get Thomas something to drink?"

He grabbed her arm to stop her, "Oh no, Thomas can't have any liquids for the next few hours. The meds are still in his system and his body is slowly coming out it. Plus, he needs to be hooked to that IV for a while longer as well."

He coughed, "Then what-what can I have, doc?"

The doctor went over to the bathroom's sink and wetted some Q-tips, "Here, stick these in your mouth to moisten it. I'm sorry, that's the best we can do for now, but I'll be back later. Goodbye, everyone."

With no liquids, Thomas couldn't speak very well. He mostly just laid there, writhing and moaning in pain from his surgery when he wasn't trying to sleep. It was heartbreaking for CJ and his mother to see him like this. Out of nowhere, his mother's phone beeped somewhat loudly, starling CJ. She looked down to the screen, "Oh, darn it! I'm sorry CJ, but I need to head back to work! My boss just sent me an urgent text..."

CJ feigned a smile. She didn't want to be left alone with Thomas just yet, "Oh, that's okay Linda. I'll keep an eye on him."

Linda smiled back and hugged CJ before leaving, "Alright. Make sure he doesn't run off!" she chuckled, waving goodbye.

"Ha! Yeah..." CJ stared at her boyfriend, 'He looks so terrible, hooked up to all this crap...' The cloud woman couldn't take much more of this. She'd never dealt with something like this before, especially to someone she cared deeply for. Thomas looked like he wanted to rip his arm clean off from his expressions and the sweat dripping from his forehead. She went into the bathroom and shut the door, trying to hold back tears. As she stared into the mirror, she began to cry, but tried to do it softly so Thomas wouldn't hear her.

"C-CJ? Where are you?" he groaned.

She kept crying, her body starting to turn grey...

"CJ?! What's wrong?!" he attempted to yell.

CRACK!

In a spur of the moment, CJ punched the bathroom mirror, with glass shattering all over the sink and floor. She pushed the bathroom door open and stood there, her body crackling with electricity. Tears were streaming down her face.

"Thomas! I can't see you like this! I'm sorry!" she cried.

"What-what are you doing CJ?!"

"Something I've should've done before Benson stopped me: I'm going to go find that green tub of lard and make him pay!" she screamed, running out of the room.

Thomas just sighed, 'Oh boy, Muscle Man...you'd better hide...'
