A/N I'll be using Lt. Jones's POV to denote a flash back and Killian's POV to show that we are back in modern times
Killian's POV
"Killian, wait. I'm not ready. Please don't make me go inside. I need to be outside. I need to find release for the energy before I can be even half-way normal." Elsa begged.
"Oh, of course. I was just happy to see you, I forgot. Release, release, oh I have an idea. Just stay here. Don't leave." I refused to release her until she agreed to stay.
I quickly turned towards the diner. Not wanting to form a panic, I slowed as I opened the door and casually walked toward my love, who was still with Regina and Henry in one of the back booths.
"Regina, I know you've had a great shock, but I need your help." I couldn't keep the pleading tone out of my voice even as I kept it to a low whisper. Regina stood up immediately, alert. I'm not sure if she truly wanted to help or if she just wanted the excuse to stop the conversation. "Come with me, but try not to draw attention." Emma and Henry naturally had to come along behind us, but as we waved good bye to the Charmings, it was clear that they thought that we were taking Regina somewhere safe away from Robin.
Relief flooded me when I saw Elsa had indeed stayed where I had left her. From the lost look in her eyes, I knew she was scared and ready to run away. I took her hand quickly in mine as I turned the small group towards the beach.
"Elsa, this is Regina, Emma and Henry." I quickly made introductions as we quickly walked. "I promise to make better introductions later, but we don't have time for it right now. What you need to know is that Elsa's family to me and she needs help." I made sure I caught Emma's eye as I said that. There was so much we hadn't had a chance to share yet and this was a huge part of my past that I hadn't even mentioned. I quickly hoped that she wouldn't hold it against me. Right now my brave lass looked determined to help so I took that as a good sign.
In no time we were next to the salty water of the bay at the outskirts of Storybrooke. I indicated for Emma and Regina to stand on either side of Elsa.
Turning to Regina, I said "Thank you for coming without question."
"Oh I'll have plenty of those, but I know that look in your eyes right now and I'm not a fool, so get on with what you need."
"Emma, Regina – Elsa is going to release some of her magic into the ocean, I need you to make a barrier to ensure the energy goes out to sea and not towards the town. Elsa doesn't want to hurt anyone, but there is magic in her that is hard to control."
Poor Elsa at this point was shaking to keep it in. Her dress was covered in a lacy frost.
"Henry and I will be back there," I pointed to the tree line. "As soon as we get there, Elsa you need to freeze the ocean."
"Freeze the ocean – pirate, I thought you would know that salt water does freeze that easy" scoffed Regina.
I just smirked. "I know the sea. I just also might know a thing or two more as well."
Henry and I both turned to run for the tree line. As soon as we reached it, I could hear the quiet build up that occurred around Elsa around this time. The air temperature dropped suddenly. Unlike the air before a storm, it was not as if the cold was blowing in, but rather like the warmth in the air was fleeing. The humidity in the air turned to snow and ice while it swirled around Elsa, forming geometric patterns in the sand.
Regina and Emma both called up fire balls into their hands and were shocked when they winked out.
"You're going to have to do better than that," Said Elsa, finally pulling off her gloves. "I haven't even started yet."
With those words she finally released part of the magical energy that she'd been holding. A beam of blue ice flowed from her fingertips, which she had indeed pointed out to sea. The already chilly water, stilled in mid-wave as it instantly froze.
Needing more, Elsa started walking out on the now frozen water. Behind her, Emma and Regina joined forces to create a barrier stretching up and down the beach. The temperature on this side of the barrier stopped dropping, but it remained colder than was common, even in the normally chilly Maine town.
Power flowed from her fingertips as she waved her hands in the air. Bending the elements to her will, the churning ocean became a mirror of glass. She willed the ice to create skates on her feet. Graceful and poised as always, she didn't miss a step as she slid effortlessly across the once choppy ocean.
I couldn't help a smirk of pride as we all watched her. The eyes of the other observers widened in surprise.
Then my smile faded when I saw Elsa's face. I was expecting the release of the magic to calm her. The last time I saw her do something similar, her face light up like the sun, but now her face remained grim and stern. What happened to her while we were apart?
