Chapter 8: Hazel's POV
We did show them around our town and they fell in love it with at first sight. The tall buildings and the city lights took their breath away. They both came back to our house because we haven't seen each other in a while and we all just wanted to chat. I sat with Kaitlyn and Gus and Issac were in the Kitchen.
"So," Kaitlyn started, "How is it going with Gus?" she said.
"Its great. I mean we have had a couple bumps in the road. Metaphorically speaking people get in the way like jumping in front of a car." I said looking down frowning.
"Who's the girl?" She asked grinning. How did she know there was a girl? Did Issac tell her about Caroline? "Trust me I know all about bitchy C." She said. I rolled my eyes smiling and agreeing with her, making her laugh too.
Augustus's POV
Issac and I sat down at the island.
"So whats the scoop with the bitch?" Issac asked looking up at me. I knew instantly he was talking about Caroline.
I let out a small sigh leading into a small chuckle. "Don't even get me started Issac. Its been a mess ever since day one. I mean I don't regret meeting her but their are some days I just wished she never came into my life." I said.
"I know what you mean. I remember the whole time you guys were dating I just knew she wasn't right for you. Something about her just ticked me off. I don't know what it was but, ugh she annoyed me so much. I didn't want to tell you while you guys were dating because I would have sounded like the jerk like I am now." Issac stated.
"I know what you mean. I didn't like Monica's presence at first, but then I got to know her and I started to grow on her. She became one of my really good friends. Until she dumped you in a heartbeat." I said.
"Well hey, look at our lives now. Are whole adventure on earth was leading up to this to happen. For us to die and come here. Look at us now. You have a leg and I can see. And I'm not going to let some girl come in the way of destroying what our lives have led up too." said Issac.
Issac was right. Caroline doesn't run my life. She never has. I just haven't had the guts to stand up to her and tell her to stop messing with my life. And I probably should before anything happens to my relationship with Hazel.
"Issac I think we need to head out, its getting late." said Kaitlyn. "Alright I'll be right there," Issac shouted. "-but listen Waters. Don't ruin what you have with Hazel because I've known you for so long and I know what you have with Hazel, is what you have wanted your whole life. And if you need anything I'm here." Issac stated. "Thanks." I responded.
Hazel's POV
"Bye! Nice seeing you guys again." I said. "You too!" They answered. I shut the door and walked into the kitchen to see Gus. It honestly feels like I haven't seen him all night. "Hey, im going to head to be-" I saw him sitting at the table leaning his head on his upright arms while his eyes shut. "Gus?" I said walking over to him and sitting down. "Are you okay?" No response. I sat there for a minute or two and got up. He probably needed to be by himself for one night. As I walked away Gus got up, and ran to me and turned me around and kissed me. Hard. His hands were on my waist and moved to caressing my face. "Gus-"
"You're not going to lose me that easy over some other girl. I have to wake up everyday and I'm so nervous for if the same thing is going to happen again like at the church. That was hell for me and I could never live through it again. Not to mention the year you weren't here. And now that you're here, I can never let you slip out of my grasp that easy. Just don't leave me because I have fallen in love with you more than I could ever imagine." He said.
His hands were still caressing my face. As he let go, I threw my arms around his neck instantly and he hugged me so tight to the point where both of us didn't want to let go. "Okay?" I asked.
"Okay." He said. And I was overjoyed to hear the smile behind the word.
