Chapter Six- A Gift from Heaven
Here we stand today
Like we always dreamed
Starting out our life together
The light is in your eyes
The love is in our hearts
I can't believe you're really mine forever
Been rehearsing for this moment all my life
So don't act surprised
If the feeling starts to carry me away
On this day
I promise forever
On this day
I surrender my heart
Here I stand, take my hand
And I will honor every word that I say
On this day
In that big flat screen, he can see it clearly. The golden haired girl walking in the aisle looking intently at the blue haired man who looked back at the girl. What a sweet scene. The girl's eyes looked like she cried a while a go.
Lacus murmur a simple thanks to the maid that serve the juice. She picked up the juice and sip. She was at one of Cagalli's mansion that reside near the ocean. After a lot of thinking she finally planned to ask Cagalli and Athrun about what she found. Now, that both of them weren't busy she finally got the chance to talk with them. But unlucky her, Athrun wasn't there that makes Cagalli moody, again.
As she looked around the living room, she saw a framed dried rose hanging in the wall.
"Dried rose?"
She walked and stared at the framed dried rose. There's a letter together with it. She read it out.
"Best wishes. K...McAdams. Odd. This seems familiar. The handwritten, too. Where did I saw it? I can't seem to remember."
She was about to remember it when she heard someone walking behind her back. When she turned around she saw Cagalli approaching her.
"Lacus, you're here." Cagalli called her behind her back, "Oh, what's you're staring at hmm?"
Cagalli looked at the frame hanging in the wall. She too stared at the frame.
"That one huh. It's been long huh." Cagalli smiled while staring at the frame, "Remember the bouquet of roses you brought me on the day of my marriage?"
"That was from that time?" She was shocked. She taught it was given by Athrun or... Kira when she was still alive.
Wait!? Kira!? Yes! Kira. The handwritten looked alike Kira's. Why didn't she notice it back then
But at that time, they taught that Kira was dead. Could it be possible?
"Yup! That's from the McAdams corporation."
"McAdams?"
"Yup! But it seems that came from the adopted one."
"Did you know them?"
"Not all of them. The heir only. You know. We met him. Three months ago at Plants . The guy who never smile and always frown. You should remember him because Dearka says that he resemble Yzak."
"Did you remember his name?"
"I think his name is Red... Red... hmm... It's on the tip of my tongue... okay.. just call him Red. Ah.. wait I think it's Red Ezekiel McAdams."
McAdams...? Where did she heard it. Where? When?
She frowned and jokingly said, "By the way, don't tell me Athrun doesn't give you one?"
"Ah! No! No! No! There's a reason. And Athrun always brought flowers every time he visit me." Cagalli widely smiled at her.
"So why?"
"Momento?" Cagalli said jokingly.
"Momento... You're lucky that he doesn't get jealous.
"There's no word such jealousy in his vocabulary. Remember?"
"Vocabulary..."
"Forget it. Your phone's ringing by the way."
She stared at Cagalli. She wasn't planning on answering the phone when she saw Audrey's name on it.
Yes! McAdams! Audrey Mc Adams! Kira McAdams. Why did I forgot about it?
"What are you up to this time?" Kira frowned as he asked Audrey.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Don't tell me you didn't miss your big sister?"
Audrey playfully smiled at him and wave her hand.
"Are you in drugs?"
He asked thoughtlessly but it was too late to take it back.
"Do you wanna die? As in right now? Right here?"
Audrey opened her eye widely at him. He turned his gaze away and saw Red walking towards them. Another person showed up. Is this a movie or what?
"Ahmm... Where have you been? Red's been waiting for you."
"You're kidding... Right?" Audrey raised her eyebrows. "But now that you tell me that he was still here in ORB. Okay! Bye! Bye! See you around."
Audrey turned her back away and was about to leave when someone grab her hands.
"Not so fast! Young lady."
Both of them looked at the man who grab Audrey's hand. Audrey just stared at Red eyes band to Red's hand who was tightly gripping her hand.
"Oh! Boy! How are yah? Haven't seen you for so long."
"Doing good. Thanks for asking. By the way, we have a lot of things to talk right?"
Both of them shiver as they looked at Red's serious face or was it mad?
"Is there?" "Is there something that we should talk? Is there a problem? Hmmm...? Kira"
"I don't think there has, as of now. By the way, I have to go. I have appointment." He turned his back away from them. He was about to take a step when he felt that someone pull his hair.
"Not too fast! You're coming with us!"
He was about to fell in the ground, luckily he got a good reflexes and manage to stand still.
"Audrey..."
"You're my date, remember? Don't just easily hand me over to someone we didn't know."
Audrey envelope her hands to his right arm and looked to Red.
"You didn't know? I'm you're-"
"I didn't know you. Who are you by the way?"
"Don't piss me off, Audrey."
"Am not pissing you off!"
Audrey said jokingly then pout her lips. She make a face as she turned around. Kira looked at Red.
Is she still a child?
"Red only need a chain and he would looked like a dog."
Kira looked behind him and saw Red, following them. He looked again to Audrey and shake his head. He smiled pitifully.
"By the way... Did you... by any chance meet our new neighbor?"
"Who!?" He asked innocently.
"Don't deny. The pink-haired princess."
"Ah... Yap, I did met her. Why?"
"Are you by any chance... interested with her? I can set a blind date with her."
"No!" "You shouldn't..."
"Why?! Don't tell me..." Audrey gasp, "...you're shy?"
"No..."
"Really!?" Audrey looked at him suspiciously then she grin, "Okay, if you said so. Let's invite her."
"Audrey..." He took Audrey's phone as she was about to punch Lacus's number.
"Just kidding!" She grin again to him, "Oh! Speaking of Lacus... She's over there."
"Uyyyy... Just kidding... But... I already called her before I got here. She's on the way. Hehe..."
Oh boy... I can't say anything anymore...
Audrey kept on laughing as she looked at Kira's reaction. Even the greatest painter can't paint Kira's face. Anyone would have this reaction when they drink her new juice creation. Luckily, when she started mixing edible ingredients from the fridge into the blender, Red one of her supposed to be victim escaped as she planned. She planned it so he would leave both of them.
"Taste good?"
"Why don't you try it?"
Kira offered Audrey as he handed the glass of p juice to Audrey which she gladly accepted.
"Hey! Hmmm." Audrey finished the last drop of juice, "This taste good."
"What kind of taste bud do you have?" Kira wide-eyed looked at Audrey.
"Normal!" She proudly said.
Kira sighed and ashaked his head.
"By the way. Am really sorry if the double date postponed. I called her too late. She already had prior meeting with someone. But,... she said sunday is okay."
"Audrey..." Kira warned.
"What!?"
"Please stop bothering her." Kira sighed as he looked at the door.
"Why? Am doing this for you."
"And why would you do it?" Kira frowned.
"Because you like her?"
"Who says I like her?"
"I taught you like her? Someone told me that "you" like her. So..."
"Audrey!?..." Kira warned.
"Okay! Okay!" Audrey stared at the glass of juice she's holding. "Hmmm... Kir, can I ask you something?"
Kira looked at Audrey, "What is it?"
"Did somehow. Did you remember something?"
"Something... what? Like...?" Kira frowned.
"Like..."
CLANG!
Both of them looked where the sound came from. They both looked at the door, waiting for someone to show up. Kira walked to the door but saw no one there. He frowned as he looked at Audrey.
"Who's there?" Audrey asked as she walked and stand beside Kir.
"There's no one..."
"Really!?"
"Maybe it was a ghost?" Kir absentmindedly joke.
"Kir!" Audrey's eyes widened and jumped.
Kir turned around but Audrey saw his shoulder shaking as if laughing.
She slapped Kir's shoulder hard.
"Just kidding..."
"And am not." She pouted, "By the way, saturday."
"What satruday?"
"Your date."
"With whom?" Kira frowned.
"Uyyy! He didn't know who I'm talking about? As if..." Audrey looked at Kira and shout, "IT'S LACUS! L-A-C-U-S! Lacus"
"I really didn't know what is going in your mind. What is it this time?"
"Hmmm... Just helping you. You're not getting younger."
"Twenty three is not old."
"But.. I was just twenty when I got married with a jerk."
"And looked what got yourself into."
"Hey! Where talking about you here not me."
"I'm still young so please let me handle this one. There's no good things happened when your the one doing the job."
"Really?"
"Yeah.."
"So you really like her." Audrey smirk.
KYAAAAAA!
They heard someone screamed and followed by a loud crash. Both of them frowned. They looked at each other before Kira run and head towards where the sound came from.
Audrey dumbfounded.
She can't believe it. Kira left her. She who was scared of supernatural beings being left alone. In the middle of the night. In the kitchen where rumors that the children saw a ghost.
She looked around her.
Eerie... She heard someone run outside the house. She turned around to looked outside the window. She saw silhouette of a man running away. She looked again at the door.
"KIRRRRR! Don't leave me alone here!" she shouted.
Audrey run as fast she could and followed Kira.
Not so long ago
This earth was just a field
Of cold and lonely space, without you
Now everything's alive
Now everything's revealed
And the story of my life
Is all about YOU
For if you feel the cool winds
Blowing through your nights
I will shelter you
And forever here to chase your fears away
On this day
I promise forever
On this day
I surrender my heart
Here I stand, take my hand
And I will honor every word I say
On this day
I've been rehearsing for this moment all my life
So don't act surprised
If the feeling starts to carry me away
On this day
I promise forever
On this day
I surrender my heart
Here we stand like I planned
Please say you'll always look at me this way
Like on this day...
Those two people exchanging vows as if they were the only people in there. In their eyes only them exist. He felt a twinge in his heart and small portion of jealousy. Jealousy because both of them found their halves.
"I hope that you too would eternally found happiness to each other."
He smiled as he started his car's engine.
I really like this song... it makes me cry...
This was the theme song of my bestfriend and her ex-boyfriend. I dedicate the special chapter to her.
So.. there will be a special chapter. As in..
