Chapter Eight – He's My Brother
The girl looked around the park of that hospital. She pouted as she kept on staring at the young man she saw who has a brown hair. She felt disappointed every time she saw the their faces. They weren't the one she's looking for.
And then she saw that man who has an aura of loneliness... melancholy. That man who was wearing a hospital gown was sitting on one of the bench facing the sun. A perfect setting for a gloomy person like him. The green grass, the trees, a sunset facing him. What a mood killer.
"Kira!" She shouted as she run towards him.
That young man didn't even flinched hearing his name being called. She pouted and stop running. She slowly walked not creating a single noise. When she got near him, she poked Kira's cheek. Kira just turned around while holding her hand to look at her. He didn't even looked surprised.
She sighed. That pisses her off.
They became friends more or less 'she' decided it. After last night, she, being a talkative and happened to be an inquisitive person,learned a lot about him. Yes, in a hard way. He's not a talkative type. And you can even count the words he will say.
One thing is for sure. He has retrograde amnesia. He doesn't know who he is. Even the hospital can't tell who he is. There's no record of him. Even in other hospital data. So they just called Kira 'unknown patient.' It seems Kira doesn't care about it.
"So what are you doing here?"
"The sun set... I... like it."
"Huh!?" She gaped at Kira.
"Sunset's pretty, isn't it?"
"That's gloom."
Kira smiled at her.
"I feel that the staring at the sky, sun would bring back my memories."
"If you got closer to the sun you'll die."
Wait... what's the connection? That's not funny, right?
He sneak a peak at Kira's reaction before she stared at the sky.
"By the way, want to eat anything other than hospital food?"
"..." He looked at her curiously.
"I called a pizza delivery. I'm tired eating hospital food. Tasteless. People won't get healthy if they continue to eat that kind of food."
"So.. you sneak again from the nurse?"
"It's lonely there. No ones to talk to." A bright idea came up, she smiled at Kira, "I have a good idea. Why don't you try visiting me there? Let's order lots a lots of food?"
"You're gluttonous..." Kira smiled at her, "You'll get fat if you won't watch your diet. Girls doesn't like that, right?"
"Shut up! Even if I eat tons of food I won't get fat easily."
"By the way, who was the girl that called you 'Kira'?"
Kira scratched his nape as he watched at how Audrey and the kids circled themselves and have the so called 'SM' means 'Secret Meeting'. Leaving him and Lacus behind. He sighed as he looked at Lacus who was watching them and seems clueless.
He still remember what Audrey says a while ago...
"Hey, this is your chance. Your chance!" Audrey whisper to his ears.
Kira sighed as he closed his house. He stared at that pink haired who has been circled by the kids and asking questions, "You're still hang up on that? I'm telling you..."
"Tsk! If I let you handle that nothing good will come out." Audrey clicked her tounge.
"Audrey..." He looked at Audrey who put her arms around his shoulder.
"I said talk to her. Just talk to her. What's the harm? Don't you want that?" Audrey looked at Audrey and shouted her name. "Lacus!"
Lacus looked at Audrey and smile,"Yes?"
"There's something I want to talk to you."
Audrey stand up and run towards Lacus. She pulled Lacus's arm and walked towards him.
And before he knows it here they are sitting side by side in the sofa watching the kids and Audrey having the 'secret meeting.'
He sighed.
It was a really good chance to have a chat with Lacus. Get to know her and ask about that thing that been bugging him but... he didn't how to open it up. There's one thing he was really bad at even though people called him a genius. Tand that one problem is... he didn't know how to start a conversation or even make a conversation last.
He stole a glance at Lacus. Back straight, flawless skin. He notice something about her. The way she sit, the way she act, even the way she laugh, she's like a royalty. If she's acting, then she's a professional. It's hard to sit for hours without curving your back or resting your back to the backrest. But, it was all according to my sister.
I wonder if all her friends were like that but.. she's friend with Audrey maybe she's the only. And there's nothing to wonder. She's called a princess and maybe she need to maintain her image. But... doesn't she feel stiff sitting like that?
Normal girl would lean on the backrest of the chair or sometimes their back would curve to ease pain.
She's the exact opposite of Audrey.
Her movements were even beautiful. The way her hand move and her lips. And that soft pink hair that he really want to touch.
Feels like I thought about that before...
Kira sighed. He feels like someone said the 'pervert' word.
"Hmmm!?"
Kira were surprised as he saw Lacus tilt her head as she stared at him looked wondering.
Did I say something out loud?
"Um... Want to ask you if you like some drinks. Coffee maybe?"
Wait! Wrong! It's already noon and I ask if she liked coffee?
Lacus looked at him. She looked surprised.
"..or juice perhaps."
"Okay... juice." Lacus smiled sweetly.
He gape. He immediately cover his mouth.
Okay! Now what?
He stand up head to the kitchen. He didn't know that a smile that were meant for you can make people blush.
Wait.. wrong lines.
He feels that his face was as red as apple.
Lacus and Kira were at the kitchen talking across each other drinking juice. Everyone were still at the living room. It seems that they were having fun base on the laughter and noise that they make.
She glanced at Kira before she took the glass of juice and drink. She avoided the gaze of Kira who seems to be staring of her. She felt uneasy. Kira didn't seems to notice what his doing.
Did he notice something? But no matter what I need to know.
She smiled warmly, "Is there a problem with my face?"
Kira gape and looked away. She stared every Kira's movement from scratching his nape and when he looked again at her.
"Nah..." Kira shook his head, "I just notice that.. Smiling suits you better."
She didn't know that's coming. She blushed as she sip the juice again.
Kira smiled and pause...
Another long silence...
One...
Two...
Three..
Snap! Break!
Lacus felt something black and dark aura emitting from the open door. Both of them looked quickly there and saw Audrey who looked scary. The kids at Audrey's back looked scared as they stare at Audrey.
Looked like they were peeping at them but She and Kira didn't notice it. But, she didn't know why Audrey was so mad.
"Irritating. Stop me. Everyone. Stop me." Audrey murmur her head low and then suddenly they saw an imaginary fang and claw at Audrey as she run and attack, "Everyone! I said! Stop me!"
All of the kids including Maya take an action and pinned down the mad Audrey who seemed has lost his mind.
BANG!
A loud noise coming from Audrey who fell in the wooden floor.
They remained quiet for a minute and then... the kids suddenly burst crying. They fake their cry and their voice in agony.
What... a good actress and actor...
Kira wondered what's going on here. Suddenly, Audrey gets mad.
Okay... What's going on here? Were they trying to be a peeping tom?
"Mommy! Come back to us!" Aisha fake her cried as she held down Audrey's hand.
"Don't leave us, mommy!" Auel seemed to enjoy the acting as he wept on Audrey's back.
"Mo-" Gerard tried to cried to but got stop by Audrey.
"All you get away from me! Your heavy! Your going to kill me!" Audrey shouted as she tried standing up, "... And who is your mommy, huh?"
"You!" The kids chorused sweetly without hesitating as they get up and they're still holding Audrey's both hand, waist and feet.
Something snap from Audrey but, she just sighed. Audrey looked at Kira then and pointed at him.
"Kira! You!" Audrey still looked mad.
Kira just flinched as he smile pathetically, "Yes?"
"Kira, you know... That's... hmmm... What a corny pick up line. Hey! My little brother of mine... Want me to teach you a good pick up line?"
"I... er... I don't need it?"
"Ah.. you don't need it. But... for almost an hour. We were here peeping at you two but the only thing you do is stare and then when you start a conversation you say something corny. What kind of man are you? That's the reason girls got fed up at and left you."
Don't get me wrong.. The reason my previous dates left me was because of you. You scared the hell out of them.
"Ahhh! I can't take it anymore. How useless can you be? Stupid! Idiot! Idiot!" Audrey continued who was now throwing a pit.
If you weren't a girl I'll hit you for that.
"Okay! Okay!"
"What okay okay? It's not okay. Let me teach you something. The proper way on courting a girl."
In few step Kira reach Audrey and cover Audrey's mouth to stop her from saying unnecessary thing.
"Uhmp!"
Audrey tried to get away from Kira but she can't. Men were a lot stronger. The only thing she manage to do is bite Kira's hand and run towards Audrey.
"Kira is scary. Lacus, help me." Audrey embrace Lacus then she hide behind Lacus.
Kira shook his head.
"Huh!?"
Kira didn't know what was running in Audrey's head when she pushed Lacus forward. Lacus lost her balance. He move to help Lacus but even he slipped and fell down the floor. Luckily, Lacus fell on top of him.
"Ah! So... rry..."
Kira were silently cursing in his head as he tried to stand but Lacus's hand were pushing his chest. Kira looked at Lacus who were trying to stand up but stop to looked at him worriedly. Lacus stared him and he stared back at Lacus's pale cerulean eyes.
Odd. Something's very familiar. Which was it?
He can't pin point that familiar feelings. He tried his urge not to feel Lacus's cheek.
Badump. Badump. Badump.
His heart started beating faster and louder. It almost make him deaf. It scared him. His head suddenly started hurting. He clutch at his hair as if trying to ease the pain. It seems no one notice it except Lacus who looked worried.
"Are you okay?" Lacus whisper.
Even that seems familiar.
"You know... Sometimes I've wonder if you really like me."
He looked at Lacus and frowned.
"Why ask it?"
His eyes widened as he hear that familiar lines and voice.
"Are you really happy in our relationship?"
It wasn't coming from him and Lacus.
"..."
But... those voice, he was certain that it was Lacus and his voice.
"I know that you know that there's something missing in our relationship. No it wasn't missing. More like that there's something lack in our relationship. Didn't you feel it, too?"
Was it just his imagination?
"..., I-"
He closed his eyes and saw a girl sitting at a chair across him. He can't see the girl's face because it was blurry. But, he felt that his hand stretch to caress those cheek for a fleeting moment it felt real.
The moment he opened his eyes. He was surprised when he saw that his head were really touching a cheek and it was Lacus's.
"Ahem! Ahem! Ahem! Are we disturbing you? Should we left?" Audrey asked.
Thanks for the distruction, Audrey.
Kira stand up and help Lacus to stand.
"Thanks... Kira are you-" Lacus tried to ask him but he cut it.
He needed to get away as far from here.
"Audrey...!" Kira sighed as he glared at Audrey, "Will you please stop being an immature adult?""
"I said am sorry, right!"
Kira slowly walked towards Audrey.
"Hey! Kira..? What are you planning to do?" Audrey got alarmed and took a step backward as she looked scared at him.
"What do you think?" He smirked as he step forward.
"You know... I hate it."
"Hate what?"
"Don't be an immature adult here."
"I think you're the one who was an immature adult."
"Kira! I hate it! Don't tickle me! I already said am sorry!" Audrey shouted as she run outside.
Kira followed Audrey. As he run, he wished that no one notice that his face was red.
What was it? And... was it just her imagination?
Lacus looked at the door were Audrey and Kira walked out, too. Everyone followed them. She's the only one left there. They all left me. She walked out of there to head to the hall leading outside when she saw Asagi at the hall glaring at her. She's the girl with a long messy black hair. She felt the hatred with that glare. She didn't know if it was just her imagination when Asagi murmur, she read those lips as they move. And it was...
I hate you, Nuisance!
She think if she do something that can make Asagi mad but there's none. She didn't know why this kid, Asagi were so mad at her. At first the girl just didn't look at her and don't talk to her but now, she even glare at her and mouthed those thing.
Red stopped walking as he opened his mobile phone.
Twenty six missed call, one voice message, one message receive.
It all came from Mayura, the helper he hire to help the people in the villa and to spy, too.
He listened to the voice messages.
"Last night, someone broke in. Nothing stolen."
He frowned and decide to read the text message.
I found something interesting. Are you gonna pick it up here or I'll bring it there? Reply. ASAP.
He dial a number.
Now, it becoming interesting.
He silently curse when he drop his phone because someone bump into.
"S-sorry."
He didn't bother to look at the person who bump at him. He just glare at his phone as he picked it up and didn't looked back.
He's not the kind of guy who smile even though he was mad. If he's mad, his face will turned blank. He's that kind of guy. He's not a gentleman. He is just he.
He was still standing there. He looked at his phone and started dialing again.
For a minute, no one answer. He decided to just leave a message.
"Meet me at the Lacy's. Three pm..."
He put back his at his pocket when he heard that familiar name.
"Lacus found out about it? From who?"
Now, he's curious even with that girl? That pink princess wasn't the only one who has that name.
"Right?"
He looked around to see where did came from.
The same voice. That was the same from the girl who bump me a while ago. He saw that light brown hair girl with a group of people, walking far away.
He was about to turned around when three people from that group caught his attention. A navy blue haired man, a blonde man and a red-violet haired man.
Now. Now. Wasn't them the one Kira staring at, back then?
He snickered as he walked towards them. But... it seems this day wasn't his day as someone bump again to him. This time the person were holding cup of soft drinks and the content of it were now sticking in to his coat.
"Sorry mister."
He cursed as he looked at were the group of people was. They weren't on sight anymore. He looked at the sky.
What a day!
Kira walked at the sea shore. He doesn't have any idea where he would go. He just let his feet to walked and walked until he almost can't see the villa anymore. He watched the sun set as he walk. He didn't know how many hours he's been walking. He didn't feel his feet aching.
Well, now that I ask for it.
He suddenly felt it. The pain in his feet. He continued to walked until he saw a big rocks with different size and shape. He sit at the biggest rock. He watch the birds fly as if flying towards the raging red-orange sun.
There's something been bugging him. But, he doesn't want to ask Audrey about it.
He let himself think there until the sun were eaten by the ocean.
He was looking infront as he walked and then someone called his name. When he looked when it came from he saw Mayura running waving at him.
He stand there as he wait for Mayura.
"Where did you go?"
"I bought something for the kids play."
"Ahhh. That."
He didn't want to get caught on someone's scheme so he didn't let the topic prolong.
They walked together quietly. He notice that Mayura been taking a glance a him. It seems she wants to ask or say something but remain silent. And he didn't ask her 'cause he taught it's about that stupid play.
As they got near the villa they're heard someone singing. A familiar voice. He looked at Mayura and frowned.
Who was it?
"Lacus!"
As they enter the villa the songs got even more clearer. They saw the kids with weird costumes circled around at Lacus who were singing. They stand there looking at Lacus. It seems the kids and Lacus didn't notice them.
Find the way
Though in this glowing cosmos our hands can't quite reach

You said, "I had a long dream... It was a very sad dream, but what I saw wasn't one bit clouded..."
I said, "It's okay to cry, because I'll stay by your side no matter what."
What I wish for is a hand, a hand to reach up to me...
He stared at Lacus. In his eyes, he can only see Lacus.
He clutch at his chest. His chest hurts he didn't know why. He kept on staring at Lacus. The pain intensified. What was that? He didn't know why.
He didn't notice the way Mayura looked at him with a grin in her face.
"Uyyy!" Mayura says teasingly.
Kira looked at Mayura who were still grinning.
"Ahem!" He fake his coughed and smiled at the kids who looked at him.
"Uncle Kira!"
Ouch! Uncle.
"Looks like your enjoying yourself?"
"Lookie! Lookie! We were going to play Adarna bird."
"Ah.. Okay!" He said it without a hint of curiosity as he looked at Audrey who were tiredly sitting at the sofa and then looked at the kids again, "That's good! I have to do something. So do your best! Okay!"
"Okay!"
He almost running as he went upstairs. But, as he reach the top he looked back to see Lacus who were also looking at him. Lacus smile at him as their eyes met and he smiled back at her. He saw Audrey and the kids grin at him. This time as he turned around he didn't looked back.
"So do you remember who was that girl in your dream?"
Kira shake his head.
She sighed. She lean on the back of the chair. She looked around them. Their here again. At the park, same setting, same time but this time their eating.
"Your such a gloomy person."
"That's coming from the girl who tried to commit suicide?" Kira said seriously not a even hint of laugh were shown.
Kira really pisses her off. That serious face.
"Hey! That's uncalled."
Meeting Kira cooled her head off. Even though once in a while he pisses her off. After being confine in that hospital for a month she can leave that place now. Yes, today she was leaving this place.
She smiled softly.
"I'll be discharged tomorrow."
"That's good."
"Kira... if you got discharged. Do you want to come with me?"
"..."
"As a friend, I want to give you a place to return to."
Kira didn't answered. He silently smiled.
"I'll be back after two days. So, wait for me."
They stared at the sunset. Like the first time they met. They stayed there until they can't see the sun.
"I'll go first. She said as she stand.
Kira just nod. She was walking when she heard him say that, "Thank you."
She leave that place with a smile on her face.
After two days, she came back once again on that place...
But, who knows that something big like this were going to happen?
The darkness... it slowly spreads all through out my body as she stared at him...
I have a hard time updating it...
I don't know what to do with this story anymore
so maybe I'll take a break updating so I can try fixing it
I'm facing a big block of ice right now... yes a big block of ice...
I'm heartbroken now...
I didn't know that it was true... what I write before were true after all...
Ahhh! Okay I need inspiration to finish this one...
So i'll take a break...
