~chapter 6~
"WELCOME TO YOSEN HIGH'S BASKETBALL TEAM"
AAHGGGHHHHH… Why is this happening to me?
Weird things always happen when I see that creepy giant. Ever since the day I first met him. And here I am thinking that I was going to get a normal high school life here in Japan…. If only I didn't wake up late on the first day of school then none of this would happen….
"But with all due respect Ms. Araki I really am not his kanojo…" I said politely as I sweatdropped. "We've only last week…"
"Oh come on no need to be shy!" Ms. Araki explained as she put an arm over my shoulder. "Come here, let me introduce you to the whole team…"
Ms. Araki dragged me to the center of the court. I didn't struggle though, just for the sake of respect for her as the teacher.
"OKAY EVERYONE LINE UP!" She ordered fiercely while tightening her hold around my shoulders.
Everyone immediately followed her orders and lined up in front of their coach.
"Everyone listen up… It seems like Atsushi's girlfriend, has paid us a little visit…" She said while emphasizing the word GIRLFRIEND which caused a vein to pop out of my head.
"So let's not be rude and introduce ourselves…KENICHI! LET'S START WITH YOU!" she commanded as she pointed at the guy with the goofy sideburns.
"H-hai!" The guy said rather nervously but showed a firm and serious face.
" I'm Okamura Kenichi! A third year student and the team's captain and power forward! Yorushiku onegaishimasu[1]!" the guy said loudly and raucously with a stiff bow… too loudly I might add… my ears hurt…
"Well done Kenichi! That's how I like it!" Ms. Araki commended. She looked at the guy next to Okamura-kun and pointed at him. "Fukui! You're next!"
"The name's Fukui Kensuke, third year student and the team's point guard… Nice to meet you" The whitish-blonde haired guy stated while flashing a smile at me. I smiled back at him, trying not to be rude.
"Good! Next!" Ms. Araki ordered as she pointed at another person. It was the Chinese looking guy. He has a long face and thin eyebrows. He has light brown hair that covers his forehead in front and his neck at the back.
"...Liu wei…. 2nd year, small forward…." The guy stated meekly. It seemed like he has an apathetic personality.
I was busy studying their profiles when I suddenly felt someone behind me.
"Kasu-chin…You really don't have any candies for me?" THAT GREEDY GIANT. He's the reason why I'm in this mess and all he thinks about are candies.
"NO. I don't have CANDIES. And I won't give you any even if I had some." I sternly replied while crossing my arms.
Just then he leaned closer to me and began inspecting my pockets from behind and patting to see if there's something inside. Shivers were sent down to my spine as I felt his breath at the crook of my neck.
"What the hell?" I though to myself. I immediately moved away from him and angrily glared at him.
"What in the world are you doing?! I don't have candies, OKAY?... See?"
I said as I pulled out my pockets revealing that nothingwas inside.
"Ngghh… You're so mean Kasu-chin…" The evil giant stated as he puffed his cheeks… Is he pouting? So childish..and cute- wait.. WHAT? What am I thinking?
"Awwwwwe….. They're having a lover's quarrel… Looks like you got a tsundere Atsushi." Fukui-sempai[2] said out of nowhere.
" Why can't I easily get a pretty girl like that? It's unfair!" Okamura-sempai whined as he butted in.
"Ahh.. young love.. Makes me want to be young again." Ms. Araki stated longingly , joining in the conversation as well.
Heat rushed up to my face. What the crap. We are not having a lover's quarrel. WE ARE NOT EVEN LOVERS AT ALL. And why is the creepy giant cool with this?!
*SLAM*
The entrance doors unexpectedly flung open. Everyone averted their gaze towards the door.
"Sorry I'm late coach. I was busy doing some wor-Nishino-san? What are you doing here?"
"Himuro-kun? You're part of the basketball team?" I asked, surprised in a way.
"Yes... Didn't Atsushi tell you?" Himuro replied as he started to approach us.
"You two know each other?" Ms. Araki asked while looking at me and Himuro-kun.
"Yes coach. We're in the same class." he answered back. He then shifted his eyes on me and looked worriedly at my arm.
" How's the bruise?"
I looked at my left arm and unconsciously rubbed my bruise.
"It's fine. No need to worry."
"My, my... That's a serious-looking bruise you got there. What happened? Have you gone to the clinic?" Ms. Araki asked me, looking concerned as well.
"Well… I almost got hit by a truck. Good thing Himuro-kun saved me. The nurse in the clinic said the bruise is nothing fatal. My arm feels fine now." I answered as I looked at Himuro.
"OOOHHHH… So Himuro is your saviour? Where was your BOYFRIEND at that time? I sense a love triangle! Hahaha!.." Okamura-sempai concluded.
"Oi. Cut it out…" Ms. Araki interrupted as she hit Okamura-senpai's head with her shinai[3].
"Don't ruin their relationship with Atsushi! "
"H-Hai!" Okumura-sempai directly complied with her orders. Okay, I bet Ms. Araki is a strict and terrifying coach… Just look at how Okamura-sempai looks at her… and his knees are trembling too.
I then looked at the giant to see his reactions. It is as though he was really annoyed and pissed off, but he did not say a single word.
Why does he look like that? Well I guess he is as annoyed as I am right now… he probably doesn't want to get shipped with me…. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO BE SHIPPED WITH HIM TOO.
And furthermore...Why is this happening?This is an unexpected turn of events. Why am I paired up with these two? I have to get out of here before anything gets worse… that giant… he will pay for this.
"coach…" An unexpected voice came out of the blue, breaking my train of thought.
" What is it Atsushi?" Ms. Araki answered as she placed her shinai over her right shoulder. Geez, that pose makes her look like a gangster… I wonder if she really is one since she acts as if she really is …
" Kasu-chin looks tired… I'll take her home now…" The creepy giant said as he approached me and harshly placed an arm over my shoulder and pulled me to his side.
Obviously, being annoyed by his actions, I tried to break free from his grasp…
"Oi, Let go!"
but of course, as a girl with a small build, my effort was futile since he was a lot bigger, stronger and not to mention taller…
Ms. Araki eyed us for a second before sighing and giving in to his request.
"All right... Go on then…But just this once... I don't want any of my students slacking off…" Ms. Araki told him with a strict look.
Atsushi bowed slightly before dragging me out, away from the team, keeping his grip around me. What's wrong with this guy? I didn't do anything to deserve this! And let's not forget the fact that he is freakin' sweaty! He's smudging his sweat all over my uniform! Doesn't this guy have any manners?
"I said let go of me! You're drenched in sweat and you're smearing it against my uniform!" I said angrily while struggling under his hold.
"…"
"Hey are you listening? Release me!"
He suddenly stopped mid-way after he passed Himuro-kun. Finally, he was listening… He loosened his grip on me for a moment but then immediately tightened it
And unexpectedly he mumbled something in which I couldn't hear very well… What is he trying to say? I looked up at him and realized that he was glaring at the boy behind us.
"heh, Don't get too full of yourself Atsushi…" The raven-haired boy suddenly stated to the greedy giant with a smirk across his face.
Oh, okay.. he was talking to Himuro-kun…
The purple-headed giant stared defiantly at him before he continued on walking. He walked towards a small door near the exit. Wait, this isn't the door to the exit, where is he taking me?
He pushed the door open and yanked me inside. Seriously, what is this room?
He lets go of me as soon as we entered. I looked around and noticed a small sign on the door.
"SHOWER ROOM" I read out loud… wait, WHAT? This is the shower room? Blood rushed to my cheeks as I feel it burning… Why would he bring me to the shower room?
I turned to face the giant only to feel my cheeks burn even hotter. OH GOD….
I was greeted by the sight of the creepy giant, in the act of taking his t-shirt off.
"WH-WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU D-DOING!" I exclaimed erratically as I covered my eyes to hide the view. I honestly am not fond of seeing men shirtless, so whenever I see one, my eyes just… POP.
"ehh?...I'm going to take a shower… you told me that I was sweaty…" He replied as if there was nothing wrong with what he is doing. He continued on removing his t-shirt and threw the piece of garment on the floor.
I blushed even madder.. Okay, I think I'm going to pass out now… I feel hazy…
"B-but you c-cant just strip in f-front of a girl y-you know…." I stuttered while trying my best not to stare at his chiseled chest… man, it looks really ho- I-I mean weird…
The creepy giant seemed to notice where my eyes were looking at and a small curve appeared at the corner of his lips.
"Kasu-chin…Like what you see?" he said rather playfully. Gahhh! I can feel my whole face on fire… I didn't really know that this side of him exists….
"I-I am not!" I retorted defensively. "A-anyway…I-I'll just go o-o-utside…" I faltered as I turned my heel towards the direction of the door as quickly as I possibly can. I started to rapidly walk away but as soon as I was about to take my first step, I felt him hold my wrist and stopped me.
"stay here.. I don't want Muro-chin to steal you while I'm not around…" He said sluggishly as he bends over. What does he mean by that? Steal? This guy's crazy… But I need to get out of here now or the heat rushing towards my face will kill me…
"I-I Don't know wha-what you mean…. L-let go…"
"No." he replied swiftly.
"B-but-"
"STAY"
"….." "okay."
The next thing I knew is that I immediately followed his orders. I don't know why I suddenly agreed, it might be because he looks really scary right now… especially when his height is overwhelming me… GOD THIS IS AWKWARD
