Lily
Rin's POV
I ate breakfast, happily for once, with my father. He sat down it was quiet as we ate then I looked at the table to the side of the kitchen with an assortment of pictures. One was a picture of a beautiful woman with long blonde hair and blue eyes. "Father? What was Mother like?"
"Hm? Ah, yes, you were very young when she passed. . . Well then, if I'm going to tell you about her, I might as well start from when we first met shouldn't I?"
~Flashback~
Teenage Mr. Kagamine's POV
I biked down the street, late for a music class study group after school, with my music playing in my ear buds. I looked at my watch and pedaled faster seeing how late I was running. I rounded a corner and the next thing I knew I had knocked into someone sending me flying off of my bike. "Oh my goodness, I am so sorry!" I heard a gasp, "Are you alright?" I moved my helmet from over my eyes and immediately saw a very busty chest making my face flare red hot then I looked up to see a gorgeous, and adorable, girl. She was bending forward, her hands on her knees and her very short light brown miniskirt riding up in the back, wait why was I thinking this way! She had long waist-length blonde hair and round blue eyes brimming with concern. "I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going!" I scrambled to my feet and brushed myself off and got a better look at her now that she was standing straight. She wore a white short sleeved shirt with a light brown sailor top and red ribbon tied between her large breasts; she had knee-high light brown stockings and shoes.
"N- no, no I wasn't looking where I was going, my bad, I'm sorry." She smiled and put her hands behind her.
"My name's Lily what's yours?" I smiled back,
"My name's Thomas." She smiled warmer,
"It's great to meet you, Thomas."
"Thanks I beamed."
"Lily!" We turned our attention to the building she had come from next to us. A man was calling her from the doorway, "It's time to get back to practice!"
"Alright, Mr. Takahata! I had to give something a by passer had dropped!"
"So kind of you as always, Lily." She smiled,
"Thank you, sir!" She faced me. "Well, I must be going; it was a pleasure meeting you, Thomas!" She said turning, enabling me to get a very good look of her behind which her miniskirt was barely covering. I shook my head to clear my pervy thoughts when I realized something.
"Wait, Mr. Takahata. Lily. What building's this?" I turned my head and saw VOCALOID HIGH SCHOOL engraved on a plaque next to the main entrance and my jaw dropped. "What! Y-you're Lily! As in the Vocaloid Lily!?" She smiled feebly and sweatdropped slightly,
"I guess the cat's out of the bag, yes that's correct." I mentally slapped myself for not realizing it sooner. That's when my inner fanboy was unleashed. "It is an honor to meet you! I am a huge fan!" She kept the feeble smile displayed,
"Why, thank you and it was a true pleasure to meet you, Thomas, but I really must go." I nodded,
"Oh, y-yes of course, sorry to keep you." She giggled and raised her hand, "High five?" I raised my own hand and gave her one then she turned around,
"It was great to meet you!" As she turned she flicked her long hair making it tickle my nose and I could have sworn she winked at me. I waved goodbye and she disappeared into the massive building, then I felt something in my hand and looked down to see a piece of folded paper in the hand that met Lily's.
"What's this?" I opened it and gasped as a blush made its way onto my cheeks. On it read '555-767-9990 Call me some time~ ;) Love, Lily ;* P.S I wrote this behind my back while talking to you in case you're wondering. You seem like a very nice boy that I'd love to get to know better.'
I nearly fanboyed in public but instead, I got back on my bike and made my way to the study group. I'd just make up an excuse for my lateness.
Weeks had passed and Lily and I kept running into each other until we set up dates to meet up. I was far too nervous to tell her how I felt about her though. Then Senior Prom was approaching and I decided to ask her. "Hey, Thomas!" She cried as she skipped up to me,
"Oh, hey, Lily. What's up?"
"I'm having a concert this weekend and would love it if you came as my Special Guest." She beamed and I stared at her for a moment before returning the grin.
"How could I say no?" She giggled, grabbed my hands, and jumped up and down.
"That's excellent! I'll see you Friday when we head out!" I nodded,
"Alright." She waved goodbye and I headed off to another music class study group.
Friday had come at last and I was at the concert. I had bought a bouquet of red roses and had spelt out 'Prom?' in music notes. I bit my lip nervously at the thought of asking her and butterflies were swarming in my stomach. Then she came bouncing over and I blushed at her outfit. She had a yellow and silver miniskirt and black straps that barely covered her body as well as tall black and yellow boots and black bracelets on her left arm. "L-Lily, y-your outfit . . ." She twirled and leaned her busty chest against me as she leaned in close.
"Sexy, isn't it?" She said seductively and I blushed even harder then she laughed and pulled away, "You're so fun to tease, Tom." She patted my shoulder before putting on her headset, "Well, I'm on! Wish me luck!" She ran off and I reached a hand out to her,
"Lily wait!" But she had already run on stage leaving me with the prom items behind me, waiting to be used to ask her. I sighed and figured I might as well enjoy the concert.
Lily turned her back on the audience which waited to witness the colorful performance that would pierce the pitch blackness that covered the entire auditorium. The electric guitar In FLARE began to play until the drums started which was when the yellow and neon strobe lights began flashing in time with the music and the crowd roared to life. The crescendo built up then in the brief millisecond of a pause, Lily turned around and began head banging, her long golden hair flying in all directions, and dancing in place, twirling, and shaking her head tossing her hair everywhere before she stopped to face the crowd.
"There's something in my head." She placed her hands on both sides of her head and took rhythmic steps back, "A-a-a-a." She spread her arms out shaking her hip in beat with the music, "like feathers flutterin' 'round being carried by some monotonous sound. A-a-a-a." She continued to dance around giving more and more life to her colorful performance as her fans cheered loudly. "'Forgive me if I don't want to dance anymore.' Still, I cannot compare to anything else the feeling of just wanting to laugh again to this. The only feeling I find special now is the feeling from seeing these cuts." She stuck her index finger up. "So don't forget, don't dare forget that I swear I'll continue moving forward." She tossed her head back in forth to the up-beat music then faced the crowd again. "Now I am holding the plug that shall penetrate beyond the depths of time. I've sought after these pointless dreams for so long. 'Forgive me if I go back for this time.' Still, there are things that can never be brought back. All I want to do is just laugh and just do that. Such cruel words were said. D'ya say you love me?" She held the sides of her head, "I can't remember." She shrugged, "should I remember and will I ever?" She shot her arms out. "Get out." During the drumming instrumental she danced around, stopping, pounding her fists in the air, and tossing her head around until she faced the crowd once more. "Still, I know that things cannot be compared to anything else, so I'll just laugh to my heart's content. Really though, the only feeling I find special now is the feeling I get from seeing these cuts." She raised her arms. "As they reflect, as they flare out," A red light warmed the stage up. "along with myself this light right here still reveals a dirtied you who looks lost as well."
The crowd exploded and the rest of the concert was underway. I applauded with the stage crew and other by standers offstage and beamed at the beauty that was the flower Lily. Butterflies were swarming, migrating towards the lovely flower and I knew I would have to ask her soon before I lost my chance. Suddenly, a stage crew member spoke up. "Hey, Tom, this stuff yours?" I turned, stopping my clapping, and saw him gesturing toward the poster and bouquet.
"Ah!" I cried hurrying over to it and hiding the items behind my back, "Th-that's nothing!"
"Ah, c'mon man, what is it?" He gave me a sly grin. "You asking Lily to Senior Prom?" I blushed and he laughed. "We all knew you had a thing for her, and the way she was babbling about you saying yes to coming to this concert gave us all a vibe that she likes ya the same way, dude."
"R-really?" I smiled, "Do ya really think so?" He nodded.
"Mhm, hey why don't you go up at the end of her last number and ask her on stage? Boy that'd be big."
"But don't you think that'd be embarrassing?" He waved his hand,
"Ah, who cares what others think. At least they'll all know she has a man now am I right?" he elbowed me and I looked down with a blush.
"I-I guess so . . ."
"That settles it then: ask her after her final number." I nodded and waited anxiously to do so.
The band began to play Sun and Lily danced around the stage clapping her hands to get the audience in on the performance and shimmied her shoulders forward and back in beat with the drums before straightening up to sing. "Untie the strings to a strange of mystery no matter how much we laugh at the end no matter how painful is on the way, the significance of reincarnation is unclear. Even if we go to space bare-handed, no matter how much we search around, before we know it, we're at the end isn't that how it is?" She asked shrugging then she moved her arm sin circular motions around her head then gesturing to her and out at the audience as she swayed her hips. "'I lose the thing I tried to protect. Goodbye.' To the deep blue colored tears I saw." A bright yellow shone from behind her as her dance depicted the very story being told. "Like the bright sun am I going to take these bright, shiny days and forget about it all I suddenly stand still. I look up to the color of the sky. It almost seems like it's crying. Is it all going to go away from me?" She gestured to herself, "My 'present'." She swayed her hips in beat with the music as she shimmied her shoulders forward and back. "My leg feels heavy it's not like it's injured. The last boss is impossible to beat I don't have a legendary sword to equip. I said that I already knew about it. I acted like it was nothing I told you I didn't mind about it this borderline I'm trying to deceive. 'I hid all of my sins I carried.' 'I found it' the keys to unlocking my heart that I dropped somewhere. Like the bright sun am I going to take this warm heart? And forget everything about it, the melody within the summer night. The opening flowers and hearts, the moisture in the eyes were like a clear picture," she gestured to everyone with her arms, "your 'present'." She danced around again during the instrumental and when the music slowed down she stopped. "The boy's dog is . . . the meaning of upper limit is . . . opened up! Like the bright sun am I going to take this shiny dream and forget everything about it at the edge of my sorrows? I looked at the hearts of the present my most important thing I start to realize my distant memoires. I almost said my 'goodbye' the tears of the sky am I going to forget about it all," she glanced and smiled at me, "for the sake of love." She turned her gaze back to her fans. "I found the sun, a light shining brightly, a very fragile light of the 'present'."
Rin's POV
I now realized a few tears had escaped my eyes and I sniffled as I rubbed my sleeve over my face. "What's wrong, Rin?" Father asked and I stared at my empty table setting.
'It's just . . . those songs you just told me . . . I . . . remember Mother singing them to me one time when she was playing the piano when I was little." He smiled and placed a hand on my mine,
"Yes, but this is only part one of your mother's legacy."

Teenage Mr. Kagamine's POV
I exhaled then looked at the crew who grinned, giving me a thumbs up, and I walked up the stairs to the stage, bouquet behind my back as was the sign. Lily blinked in confusion and stared at me, "What are you doing, Tom?" She asked urgently, as if she expected something terrible had happened, as she approached me. I smiled warmly at her,
"Lily?"
"Yes?" I held out the red roses to her which made her gasp and cover her mouth with her hands while her eyes widened, then I showed her the sign which said 'Prom?' in the music notes. Tears came to her eyes an she nodded behind her hands before embracing me tightly. I found my sun, a light shining brightly, a very fragile light of the 'present.'
Well now we get a little insight on Rin's mother and like Mr. Thomas Kagamine said, "this is only part one" of Lily's legacy. Please review! :)
