Lily Part 2

~Flashback~

Mr. Kagamine's POV

"Do you, Thomas Kagamine, take this woman to be your lungful wedded wife?" I smiled at my gorgeous bride-to-be who beamed back at me.

"I do."

"And do you, Lily Utada, take this man to be your lungful wedded husband?"

"I do."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Our friends and families cheered loudly as I picked her up and pressed my lips lovingly against hers as she wrapped her arms around my neck. This was, without a doubt, the absolute best day of my life.

~A week later~

Lily's POV

Thomas and I stood on the balcony in Italy under the moonlight and clear starry night sky. It was our honeymoon and a very romantic one at that. I rested my head on his shoulder and he placed a hand on my own before I placed my hand on his. I closed my eyes. As long as I had him by my side nothing could go wrong. I looked up at his loving smile and we kissed gently.

~A year later~

Mr. Kagamine's POV

I held my baby girl in my arms while Lily smiled with exhaustion but an equal amount of love. We had just welcomed our baby Rin Kagamine into the world a few minutes ago and she was already holding my finger and smiling while she gurgled. I hugged her close and Lily closed her eyes to rest. "My baby." I whispered, "My little Rin."

"Our little musical angel." Lily sighed and I stroked her hair to help lull her to sleep.

~Four years later~

Lily's POV

Thomas and I watched our little girl skip around in the vast green park covered in beautiful flowers under the blue sky with its fluffy white clouds. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, and there was a comforting breeze blowing through the air. I held my white sun hat, with its pink bow, to my head as the wind stirred it as well as my white knee-length sun dress long golden locks which caught the sun's rays. "Rin!" Thomas cupped his hands around his mouth to call our daughter who frolicked in the flower patch below the hill we were picnicking on. "Time for lunch!"

"Coming~!" She cried as she skipped up to meet us. When she Thomas scooped her up and spun her overhead making her giggle. "Ha ha ha, Daddy stop it~! Daddy, ha ha ha~!" We laughed as he lowered her into a hug before we commenced with our family picnic. Life was just perfect. Absolutely perfect.

~Half a year later~

Mr. Kagamine's POV

Progressively, I have been noticing changed in Lily's behavior. She constantly had a sore throat and at times her beautiful honey-soaked voice would sound rough like nails as if she had smoked a bunch of cigarettes. Also, she would have trouble swallowing and would have attacks when she couldn't breathe. Then there was that one day when I decided to take her to the ER right away. She and Rin were taking their daily stroll around the neighborhood. Everything seemed normal and Rin was beaming brightly as her mother in the golden sun. Suddenly, her breath caught short and she collapsed, holding her throat and coughing vigorously. I remember hearing Rin screaming for help and immediately ran over to see Lily collapsed and not breathing what so ever while our daughter cried huge tears as she begged her mom to open her eyes. That's when I threw the girls in the car, of course not literally, and rushed to the hospital.

It hit me like a ton of bricks when Lily and I found out Lily had throat cancer and I remember that very moment perfectly: Lily was lying in bed after an emergency operation on her throat and the doctor came in. I made certain a nurse watched Rin outside and kept her preoccupied during the surgery; she was far too young to understand what was wrong with her mother. I looked up at the doctor,

"How is she?" He sighed,

"I'm sorry, sir, but that was the biggest near-death situation I have seen in years. Thank god your daughter called for help when she did or we wouldn't have been able to save her."

"What was wrong?" He stared at me,

"Throat cancer had developed on her trachea and we had removed it just in time to grant her room to breathe again. However . . . there was a price to pay because of this operation . . ."

"And what might that be?" He was silent for a moment. "She can never sing again, let alone speak any louder than a whisper." My world seem to shatter around me at that notification.

"Wh-what?" I sat down in utter shock.

"I'm very sorry, sir, but it's true. She was a Vocaloid and her singing had played a rather significant factor in the growing rate of her disease." My hands were clasped as my elbows rested on my kneecaps as I bowed my head. I already felt a change brewing inside of me, one of pure negativity. "We looked into her family and found it to be heretical and so we ask your permission to examine your daughter." I immediately looked up,

"Yes, please by all means do." He nodded,

"Very well, may you please fetch her?" I nodded and stepped out and to the kids' play area of the waiting room where Rin caught my eye and scampered up to me.

"How's Mommy, Daddy~?" She asked grabbing a handful of my pants' leg and staring up with her worried cerulean blue eyes. I picked her up.

"Mommy's going to be ok. The doctor took out this mean cold in her throat that made her stop breathing but she's going to be ok."

"Good, I'm glad. Can I see her?"

"No, no, not yet, sweetie. She has to sleep."

"Ok . . ."

"Rin." I placed her on the floor and crouched down to look at her in the eyes, "The doctor is going to give you a checkup, alright?"

"Will it hurt?"

"No, no I promise it won't and I'll be right next to you the entire time."

"Mm . . ." She pouted and I kissed her hand,

"Do you trust me, honey?"

"Yes."

"Good." I smiled and guided her into the room, the white doors closing behind us.

That's when I got even more devastating news: "I'm sorry, sir, but it's true as we predicted. Your daughter has developed throat cancer as well . . ."

"How severe?" I demanded,

"We caught it at it premature stage, she'll be fine as long as she doesn't raise her voice too loudly or strain it. She's too young for us to remove it." I nodded,

"Alright, thank you for everything, Doctor." He shook my hand,

"My pleasure, sir."

"Daddy~?" Rin asked me as she held my hand, she had no idea what we were discussing, "Is Mommy coming home with us?" I crouched down at her level,

"No, sweetie, she's going to be sleeping here tonight so the doctors can make sure she's all better."

"Ok . . . will I see her tomorrow?" I smiled and kissed her tiny hand,

"I promise you will. Now let's go home." She smiled,

"Ok~."

~Later that night~

Normal POV

Blaring sounded from Lily's resuscitator and doctors immediately flooded into her room to find she wasn't breathing and her heart was in an abnormal rhythm. They took out the defibrillator and tried to get her heart back into rhythm. "Doctor, what's wrong?" A nurse asked urgently,

"It would seem the cancer had spread farther than we thought." Her heart had returned to normal and everyone relaxed when they saw the young ex-Vocaloid ease.

"Doctor?" He was silent for a moment as he looked at her vitals.

"It would seem she hasn't any longer to live . . ."

"Family . . ." came a weak voice and everyone turned their attention to the slightly awakened Lily. "I want . . . to spend . . . my remaining time . . . with my family . . ." The room looked at each other before confiding.

"Of course." The head doctor smiled and they got her modes of transportation ready.

~The next day~

There was a knock on the door to which Mr. Kagamine answered and he immediately froze at the sign of his wife: her once bright cerulean eyes were fading, she was as white a porcelain and nearly emaciated from her medication. "Oh Lily, Lily!" He cried as his knees gave in and he sobbed on her lap. She stroked his blonde hair with a smile and remained that way for a while until he calmed down. He raised his head to meet her tired eyes, though clearly she was still fighting. She cupped his cheek,

"I haven't much more time my sweet. I wish to spend the last few hours with you and our beloved daughter." He held her hand and kissed it with tears rolling down his face as he nodded and kissed her lips ever so gently, but passionately. "I love you so much and you've given me the best time of my life with you. From our fateful encounter to today and beyond, know that and never forget, please, Thomas." He nodded and cried and kissed and hugged her, unwilling to let her go into the cold dark arms of Death. Finally, they finished their heartbreaking final moments together and the nurse wheeled Lily further into house until she saw Rin playing with her dolls in the room where the piano lay. The young blonde looked up and gasped before scampering over to her mom.

"Mommy~!"

"Hi, sweetie." Lily hugged back,

"Mommy, why are you whispering?"

"Oh, I still have a slight cold, honey, so I can't talk very loudly."

"Why are you in a chair? Why do you look so sick?"

"I'm still a little sick, honey."

"Oh, ok I hope you feel better~!" She chuckled,

"Thank you, sweetheart." Then she had the nurse wheel her over to the piano and was helped onto the bench. "Rin?"

"Yeah, Mommy~?" She asked popping her head up next to her.

"Do you want me to sing a song for you?"

"Yes, please~!"

"Alright then." Lily smiled and her daughter sat next to her as she played Sun and FLARE on the piano and sang ever so quietly. Rin didn't care of the volume; she just basked in the radiant light that was her beloved mother with her angelic voice. Lily felt her life slipping away even faster and finished playing in time to speak her last sentences to her daughter. She lifted her onto her lap and hugged her close. "Rin, honey?"

"Yeah, Mommy~?"

"Do you know how much I love you?"

"Uuum, to the moon and back~!" The woman laughed,

"More than that: to the ends of the galaxy, to the ends of the universe and back." Rin gaped imagining the distance,

"Woah, that's a lot of love, but not nearly as much as my love for you~!" Lily smiled,

"Of course. . . Rin . . ." She became somber, "Mommy's going to be going on a trip soon. . ."

"For how long~?"

"A while dear . . ."

"Will you come back~?" It pained Lily so much to break this so softly for her young daughter and she fought back tears and bit her lip. "Mommy~? . . ." Rin kissed her on the cheek which made her gasp and tears flow. "I don't care how long you're gone . . . As long as I get to see you again." Lily began to cry as she recalled what the doctor said about Rin's cancer and she hugged her tightly,

"You will, Rin, I promise. In fact, you'll see me before you know it."

"Yay~." Rin smiled then suddenly she felt something lurch underneath her and gasped when she saw her mother falling backwards. "Mommy!" She screamed and immediately, the nurse scooped her into the wheelchair, called for the waiting helicopter to land, got inside, and flew away to the hospital where Lily's final moments could be eased of the pain. All the while, Tom Kagamine scooped up his hysterical daughter, put her in the car, and darted to the same destination.

Father and daughter stared at the fading mother as she lay in her hospital bed, Father holding his wife's hand and having his other around his daughter who held her mother's hand and held her father's. Both cried as the heart monitor beeped ever so slowly. Then, Lily cracked open her eyes and smiled with tears in her eyes. "Thank you . . ." She whispered before a tear escaped and she let out a shuddering sigh and the heart monitor flat lined. Rin gasped and her eyes widened while her father cried silently. The nurses and doctors watch painfully as the young child begged and wailed for her mother to wake up but alas she couldn't. She was already on her trip to Paradise, the beautiful place in the sky.

Well that's all for tonight! Damn its late where'd the time go! O.O Anywhoosle, sorry for the tears! Please review! Love you all! :D
