Season Four never happened. Alaric never got turned into a vampire, never got possessed either. Delena happens (only because fuck it, I don't give a fuck about either of them anymore) Forwood is still on and Stefan is currently single. All of the original family is in New Orleans.

i don't own anything but Mischa, Kit and Adrian

"Therefore I am sure that this, my coronation,is not a symbol of a power and a splendor, that are gone but a declaration of our hopes for the future, and for the years I may, by God's Grace and Mercy, be given to reign and serve you as your Queen."

Queen Elizabeth II

Chapter Three

"Are you sure coming here tonight isn't just some trap for the Originals to exact their revenge on us?" Damon asked for the third time.

Caroline really wanted to take the stake he had hidden in his tuxedo and just put him out of his misery. Instead, she rolled her eyes to the sky and ignored him again. She knew it was directed towards her. Elena would have said something by now, granted it would be stupid. Everyone decided to ignore him it seemed like as they climbed the stairway into the Mikaelson mansion and into the foyer.

It was like stepping into Jay Gatsby's spacious manor. The live jazz music playing in the center of the floor was loud and boisterous. "The Varsity Drag" played all around and everyone was dancing and having a good die. Caroline searched the crowd, trying to find her good friend. Bonnie had said she would find her dancing with her sister in law. She didn't know the name of the girl but she assumed she wasn't that much older than Bonnie.

"Alright Blondie, where's our little BonBon?" Damon asked, getting annoyed. Ten minutes into this thing and he had yet to spot the party-popper. The room wasn't as crowded as he thought it would be, but it was a mixed crowd. He could smell other vampires, sense the power of other witches and felt the danger of other werewolves and hybrids. But there were also humans.

All of them were talking about how they were here to pledge to their King and Queen. The witches spoke of how she would be the one to bring and end to the old ways while the vampires spoke of how they would pledge to her in hopes of their lives being unharmed. They also spoke of one named Marcel.

He didn't know anything about a man named Marcel but apparently his name was like a bad taste in your mouth. Kinda like how you couldn't say Voldemort or Klaus. Was he another 'He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named'? Damon kinda hoped not. He was hoping he would get that titled in a few more years.

The tempo of the music got a bit more lively and everyone started dancing with a ferocity.

They were having a good time and that was one thing Damon did miss about New Orleans. The parties, the wild life, the abandonment. All of that had been thrown away for a simpler life style.

He turned his gaze back on Caroline. She was looking around the room, searching for the witch no doubt. He wondered how the little witch had been. Five years after ditching them in Mystic Falls simply because she felt neglected. She was just being a little drama queen. She would soon see that she had made a mistake and come back to them.

She would do anything for Elena; therefore she was at Damon and Stefan's disposal. Once her purpose was served, she would die like every other witch who needed to stay dead and Damon would go onto the next one. It was all to keep Elena safe.

It would always be that way.

So long as Elena was by his side, he would do anything to keep her safe. Even if it meant killing off her friends and family. She would hate him, but they had eternity. She would forgive in a few decades.

They were bonded. And unlike with Lockwood and his creepy man-crush on Klaus, theirs was real.

His eyes scanned the crowd before he caught notice of a familiar figure. She still had that small frame, but she stood tall. Damon had always wondered how something so frail looking could be a powerhouse. But that was Bonnie Bennett for you; her stature did not mean she was weak. And in this case, neither did her facial expressions.

Thought he could only see her profile, Damon watched as she spoke with none other than his ex from hell, Katherine Pierce. Her hair was fashioned elegantly in a braid that was pinned to her head with a flame inspired clip. Her dress was black, clinging to her frame but showing it off wonderfully. The slit that teased a bit of skin had Damon's mind racing with some rather perverted thoughts.

The little witch was getting bold.

Her shoulders were drawn back, her neck was straight and her head held high. It was amusing as she turned and walked with Katherine. It was like she was a goddess of war, fooling all with her gentle green eyes and bright smile, while murder formed in her mind. She walked as if she were strolling through a garden of thorns without a care in the world. Like a prickle of a thorn would be nothing to her, as though the world could be burning and and smiled like she was the cause of it all.

Damon would not deny the sudden arousal he felt.

Where had this side of her been? And more importantly, which one of the brothers brought it out? He would say Klaus, because he always had a preference for witches. Elijah probably assisted with her training but he was pretty sure Kol and Rebekah teamed up to make her the way she was.

The vampire watched as the witch and his ex walked over to Elijah and another woman. This woman's back was to Damon but recognized that frame. A hundred and sixty-odd years had passed but he knew that figure.

"Damon," he turned his head to see Baby Gilbert staring at him. "Elena's been calling you."

"Sorry Jeremy but I was too busy wondering why the little witch was hanging around Katherine." Damon responded, his voice filled with sarcasm.

"Well it's good to know that hasn't changed," a female voiced said, her tone matching. Damon turned and came face to face with Emily Bennett. She has not aged a day. Her change in clothing was a different story. She wore a sleeveless dress that covered her chest to knees, showing off her legs. It had golden floral imprints and her heels were a soft golden color. Her hair was curled and pinned to the side of her head. "Damon," she greeted before turning her eyes on Stefan, who was staring with his mouth open. "If you stay like that, you'll catch flies, Stefan."

"Emily," he breathed, not knowing what to say. What could he say?

"Wait," Elena began, appearing confused. "Emily, as if Bonnie's ancestor Emily?"

"As if in the one who possessed her?" Caroline questioned. "You know, the supposedly dead one?"

Emily smiled brightly. "That would be me."

"What brings you here?" Stefan asked.

"What brings her here? More like why is she alive? Last time I checked, Emily, you were burned at the stake." Damon snarled, his eyes cold. Emily watched as Rudy, Bonnie's father, started to sink toward Matt Donovan. She frowned at Damon before she turned her attention on Stefan.

"I'm here for the coronation of course," she answered.

"Which is what, if you don't mind us non-magical folk asking?" Tyler questioned. Emily smiled, she knew she would like him.

"The King and Queen are to obtain their thrones tonight. It's a rather joyous and historical occasion." Emily answered, just as she spotted Katherine and Bonnie nearing them. "I can not say more but trust me when I say it is for the good of all of us."

"Oh no, not that again." Damon began only be stopped by a loud female voice.

"Bon-Bon~~!" The others watched as a girl dressed in something dark and frilly, rushed over to Bonnie. She wrapped her arms around Bonnie's neck, her black pigtails brushing against Bonnie's cheek and neck. She pulled away and grinned. "Damn, I gotta say Rebekah and Em did a good job in dressing you up. I might just kiss you."

Bonnie gave a smile. "Now now, we both know that won't be happening."

The goth girl sighed. "True, it's a bitch."

Katherine smirked, "And aren't you as dark as ever Mischa."

The girl, Mischa, grinned at those words. Her bright eyes were twinkling as she looped her arm in Bonnie's, her tone seductive. "Why thank you, Katerina, I must say you're looking rather scrumptious. Can I take a bite of you?"

"You'll have to get in line," Katherine responded.

Mischa sighed before she caught view of Emily. She waved as the trio came up to them. "Greetings to you all," she announced and curtsied before she looked up, her eyes landing on Stefan. Damon knows it wasn't a trick of the light. The girl's eyes brightened before black veins coursed along her eyes and she grinned almost like a demon who found it's prey. She removed her arm from Bonnie's, walking right past Damon and Elena, who had a sour look on her face, and up to Stefan. Her eyes racked him up and down before she circled him like a vulture and then back to his front. She smiled, cocking an eyebrow seductively. "Well aren't you all brooding and handsome? It's no wonder those girls couldn't keep their hands off you," she paused and trailed a black painted nail along his chest, feeling his muscles under her fingertip. "Even Niklaus has a bit of a crush on you. Evergreen eyes, hair I wouldn't mind running my hands through and a very hot backside."

Bonnie's schooled feature cracked and hide her laugh behind her hand. "Mischa," she chastised.

Mischa turned to the giggling witch. "What? You can't lie to me Bonnie," she said, looking back at Stefan and licking her lips. "He's very mountable."

Stefan was almost certain he was blushing. This girl, whoever she was, with her bright eyes, painted pink lips and gothic lolita clothing, was staring at him as if he was God's gift to women. She grinned at his flustered expression and winked.

"Mischa that's enough," Bonnie said, smiling at the girl. "You'll frighten Stefan."

"I think I've gone more than that," Mischa said with a grin. She noticed Elena's jealous glare and ignored it before eyeing. "You look just as ravishing."

Bonnie laughed. "You flatter me, сестра."

"красивый," commented a male voice. Damon watched as Bonnie broke out into a smile as Klaus, Elijah and two other young men walking up to them. Both the unidentified males were obviously witches. Damon could feel their power from here. The younger one was fair skinned, with rosy cheeks and bright blue-grey eyes. His chestnut colored hair was styled back in a coiffed hairstyle while he wore a simple but elegant suit. He looked no older than sixteen. He smiled warmly at Bonnie, who smiled with affection. The other male, older and close to Bonnie's age, had a slightly darker complexion. His hair was styled similar to the young boy's gelled back. He had dark brown eyes and his hair was a shade darker, close to Mischa's. He let his eyes stay on Bonnie as he spoke, "You look magnificent."

Bonnie's smiled turned into a flustered one. "Thank you."

He dipped at the waist, bowing to her before taking hold of her hand and kissing her knuckles. "Never be flustered when a man gives a woman like yourself a compliment," he advised and then brushed his thumb over her knuckles. "Never forget those words."

Mischa rolled her eyes to the ceiling. "Hello brother mine," she addressed. "would you like to meet our guests before you decide to whisk Bonnie away? Or let Kit have a chat with her?"

The younger boy shook his head, feeling embarrassed. Damon frowned, why didn't the kid speak?

"Mischa," the other man responded. She scoffed and folded her arms.

Bonnie stepped away from the man, though Damon caught the exchange between them. Were they lovers? If so, Baby Gilbert had some competition and Damon was pretty sure he was going to come out the loser. Cheating on your then girlfriend with a ghost could do that to a guy. The witch turned her attention on the group.

"Thank you all for coming," she said. "I know it's been some years."

"Some years? Try like five witchy. And you've got a job to do, so once this little ball is over, you'll be coming back to Mystic Falls with us." Damon said, getting tired of Bonnie's little proper act. She did not get to leave after so many years, invite them to a ball out of the blue and not expect some kind of backlash. The others might not have to show it, but Damon didn't care. He was going to.

She frowned. "I'm afraid that won't be happening," she answered.

"And why not?" snapped Damon. "You're our witch and this little vacation is over. You're coming home and that is final."

Bonnie stared at him and stepped forward, her eyes boring into his. "I've had a lot of patience with you tonight Damon, and that's just from you breathing. The moment you opened your mouth, I knew you'd say something stupid. So let me explain this to you," she paused and stepped back. "I am not leaving. My reasons for inviting you was to extend an apology for being absent from you for all for all of these years. But I don't mean Damon or Elena, no I mean to the rest of you, Stefan included."

The Ripper looked shocked but nodded in thanks. Bonnie turned her attention back on the group. "I will not be returning with you, but know that you are all welcome back to New Orleans or if you wish, you may stay."

"You'd just have to pledge your loyalty." Mischa said with a shrug before blinking. "Vampires, werewolves and hybrids though. Humans get a free pass and well, witches have no choice but to pledge. Magic code and all," she explained while looking at her nails.

"Pledge to who?" Damon asked. "Some imaginary King and Queen? Because so far, I haven't seen them yet."

Bonnie frowned, a fire in her eyes, and was about to answer when Emily beat her to it. "Oh but they are here."

"Where?" Damon asked.

Bonnie shared a glance with Adrian before he stepped forward, holding out his hand. Damon and the others watched as they stepped away from the group. He caught Klaus signal for the band to stop. The music died down as Klaus cleared his throat and raised a glass of champagne.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the Original Hybrid called out over the silent room. He watched as Bonnie and Adrian stepped towards the band. "Tonight, as many of you are aware and some of you are not, we have gathered to watch the ascension of a King and his Queen. Those of us who lived to this city, seen it's dark underworld, know of the tale. The Ozera coven, one of the original settlers of the Bayou and one of the few who practiced the dark magic for practices of of good, ruled our supernatural community for almost seven hundred years. Before their line went underground and vampires took over in their place. Tonight I would like to announce, that I Niklaus Mikaelson, former King of the Quarter, pledge myself and my family, to the new King and Queen of this fair city: Adrian Ozera and his lovely wife, a Mrs. Bonnie Bennett-Ozera."

The members of the Mystic Falls gang, including Caroline, watched in shock as the entire room of supernatural creatures and humans alike, bowed down at the feet of pair.

Damon was pretty sure that after this, he was going to need a drink.
