Sorry it has been a while, I have no excuses. But, I'll start my new semester soon, so I won't be able to update "often" I'll try to update at least every second week. The good thing is that when I get into a routine is usually easier for me to be organised... Well, we'll see how it works out! :)
Thanks for following and reviews, you guys always make my day - even when I'm a horrible person and do not update.
Hugs,
M
MARY MARGARET'S POV
One of Emma's favourite games was Risk, and she was pretty good at it. She had no mercy and she loved destroying entire armies. Emma didn't even care if the game destroyed friendships: she needed to win. I swear when she played it, it was like if she got possessed by Napoleon and Attila, the Hun. It was pretty scary, and no one ever stood a chance against her. No one, that is, until Regina started playing with us. Even if the brunette had never played before, it seemed like Regina also got possessed by some great conqueror, maybe Alexander the Great and August Caesar, when she placed her army on the board.
"Aren't you supposed to be my ally?" the brunette asked arching an eyebrow when Emma laughed after David conquered one of her territories.
They had made a pact at the beginning of the game, they would erase David and me from the map and then they'll see who survives longer. Regina should know better, Emma is never a good ally - kind of like Hitler when he invaded Stalin's territory after the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact.
"I only play with by one rule," the blonde replied, "And it is -"
"There are no family nor friends in Risk," David and I interrupted her, telling her rule at unison.
Emma grinned "See? It's a rule,"
"You didn't tell me about this rule," Regina arched an eyebrow, it was her first time playing.
"You are doing pretty good, though," I stated. "The first time I played, she erased me in two turns,"
"You have improved a little bit, then," my best friend grinned at me, "It took me four turns this time," childishly, she stuck her tongue out.
After that incident, Regina decided to stop attacking David and unleash all her rage against Emma. Emma was an excellent player, though. And she had such good luck with the dice, sometimes I wondered if she had some kind of magic and could influence the numbers. Emma managed to erase David from the map and defend herself against Regina. At the end, the blonde won, as always.
"For a moment back then I thought you would win," Emma said putting the pieces into the box and placing the box next to the other board games she had left at her parents' house. Emma didn't own much board games, but she had all the Risk versions, including the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings ones. "I think is time to go," Emma said checking her watch and standing up, "Regina and I have a lot of work tomorrow,"
I nodded and stood up. David also stood up, but instead of walking with us towards the door he kissed my forehead and started to take all the glasses and dishes we had used towards the kitchen.
"Um, I didn't mean you, M," Emma said to me while she helped Regina with her jacket. "I'm staying over Regina's to have an early start tomorrow,"
I both an eyebrow at Emma's comment, I knew Emma better than that. She just grinned and throw the bug's keys at me.
"Let me guess, Regina is going to give you a ride," I grinned.
"Oh, god!" Emma chuckled "I've created a monster,"
Emma and I chuckled, but Regina didn't find it quite funny. She wanted Emma to be more like me, and not me to be more like Emma. I hugged them both and closed the door after they left the Nolan's house. Then I made my way towards the kitchen, where David was doing the dishes
"You are still here," David pointed out with a smile.
"Apparently, when Emma said 'we' she meant Regina and her not me and her,"
David chuckled "Well, at least we know that she is not doing something reckless that will get her arrested," he stated as he cleaned the last glass.
I pursed my lips into a smile and laid against the kitchen furniture, next to where David was doing the dishes, with my arms crossed. "Why, David Nolan, are you finally agreeing that Regina is good for your sister?"
"I'm willing to let her prove herself," he set the last glass next to the already clean ones and placed himself in front of me. "You think Regina is good for her, and I trust you, so I'll give her a chance,"
David gently pressed his body against mine and I uncrossed my arms to slide them around his neck. "Well, thank you for the leap of faith," I said almost in a whisper as I enjoyed the moment.
He smiled at me and ended the distance between our lips. Kissing David always made me hear fireworks, even if he had been dating for four months now: the sensation wouldn't go away, and I loved it.
I jumped a little bit and wrapped my legs aroud David's waist as our tongues played inside my mounth, it tasted as sweet as honey. David carried me towards the living room and gently dropped me in a sofa. He laid over me, but not squishing me under his weight. Our kisses grew more passionate, our lips only separating when our lungs begged for some air. I slid my hands under David's shirt and caressed his back.
The contact of my skin against his made me realize something: what we were about to do. "Wait," I whispered against his lips.
David looked at me, "Did - did I do something wrong?" he asked concerned.
"No," I replied and gently caressed his cheek "It's just that - I don't want my first time to be like this,"
He pulled himself away but smiled at me. "Of course,"
"I'm sorry," I said while I sat. I was looking away, because for some reason I was a little bit afraid of seeing into David's eyes.
"Hey," David kneeled in front of me "There's nothing to be ashamed of," he added looking straight into my eyes "You are worth waiting for,"
I bit the internal part of my cheek as I watched him in front of me, I felt like could melt with his gaze. "I love you," I said, not breaking eye contact with those beautiful blue eyes that I adored.
David slid his hands around my neck and with his thumbs he caressed my cheeks "I love you too." He replied as he laid one last time to kiss me. Then, he sat next to me and wrapped me into a hug.
I had said those words couple of times in my life, I had heard them some times too. But I had never felt them as meaningful as this time. I rested my head against David chest, just as I had done the first time we kissed. I had made a lot of stupid choices in my life, but not backing off that David leaned in to kiss me for the first time was not one of them.
As a kid I used to watch my parents and I wonder if I'd ever find someone to share my life with, someone I'd love as much as my mother loved my father, someone that would love me as much as my father loved my mother, and I was starting to believed I had found him. David Nolan made me the happiest woman on earth.
