If Sara could ever turn back time and change the events of a day it would have to be this day, and the day that her parents died. From the moment Sara woke up this morning to the minute she went to bed she wished she had the power to change almost everything that happened. She would have change Darry's mind about his part time job, she would of have changed the way Soda acted towards her, as if Sandy was way more important than her. She would have changed the fact that Ponyboy took a job at the bowling alley. She would have changed Dally's mind to stay with her. She would have changed the horrible day she had at school, and most of all, she would have changed Darry's decision to allow for Sandy, Evie and Steve to come over that night. But as we all know, no one can turn back time, no matter how hard we want it too, and the same goes for Sara Marie Curtis.

The minute that Sara arrived to school that morning all her fellow class mates seemed to be talking about was the Father- Daughter dance on Friday, and if Sara didn't know any better she would have thought that they were doing it on purpose knowing that she no longer had a Dad. She listened to the girls sharing details of them going into the city and shopping at local department stores like Sear's and Roebuck's for their fancy dresses. But it didn't end there, Sara also listened to how their fathers were gonna buy them corsages and take them out to dinner beforehand. Every minute of the conversations made Sara want to explode with anger and frustration. How could this be happening? Why was she all of a sudden feeling like a burden to her brothers? Why was she feeling alone and deserted? Why did Darry have to take that extra job now? Sara's heart was feeling very heavy as the day moved along, and unfortunately it didn't get any better from there on out. Because her head was in a heavy fog most of the morning she didn't get any morning work done, and so Ms. Martin kept her in from recess to finish it. This put more of a damper on the day for all she wanted to do was run. All she wanted more than anything was to get outside and just run, run away from everything that was weighing down on her, but instead she was stuck inside a stuffy classroom trying to match the letters of the alphabet to pictures that began with the letter. And for some reason everything was annoying the poor child today, her peers, her school work, and the temperature in the room, the smell from the cafeteria down the hall, the stuffy air and most of all Ms. Martin. Usually Sara was very fond of Ms. Martin, but not today. Her smile, her laugh, her voice, her appearance, and even her presence wanted to make Sara cringe. Sara literally felt like she wanted to crawl out of her skin, but what topped it all off was her time in art class. Now Sara normally enjoys art, but not today. Today the class was painting and normally they wear their paint shirts but Sara was having some tactile issue so she chose to not wear hers. But the more she thought about it, the more she realized that maybe it wasn't a tactile issue at all. See Sara's art shirt was actually one of Darry's old football t-shirts, and Sara probably just didn't want to wear it because it would just bring all those memories flooding back from this morning, but in the end it didn't matter to much if it was a tactile or if it was just because it used to belong to Darry. Because when Sara was reaching across the table to dip her brush into the blue paint her left elbow caught the jar of green paint that was beside her and before Sara knew it the green paint was now covering her skirt and the floor beside her. Darry surely wasn't going to be happy about this, never mind how angry her art teacher was at her for the mess she had made just made. So the rest of the day she had to sit in a wet and cold skirt. And to top the afternoon off and to make matters worse, her usually bus driver George, was out sick today and they had a substitute who was nothing but a grouchy old man. He did nothing but holler at them the whole ride home. He was hollering for them to "Sit down, and to be quiet and to stop moving around." Sara was so relieved when he pulled up to the curb of the DX but when she noticed who was standing next to her brother she blew out a breath that made her bangs fly up in the air. She slowly started to descend the isle when the driver hollered, "Can't you move a little faster there young lady?" Sara noticed the dirty look he was now giving her so she quicken her pace and flew down the stairs towards the DX. Sodapop couldn't even take his hands off of Sandy long enough to come over and greet her at the bus stop like he always does. This should be interesting, Sara thought. She could only imagine what the night had in store. Sara always hated when Sodapop was around Sandy for his whole personality seem to change and Sara didn't like it one bit. Just maybe this time things would be different. Sara barely had her two feet on the ground when the bus started to roll away. She glanced over to see if Soda was concern or not, but when his eyes were only watching Sandy, Sara slowed down her pace and was now dragging her feet across the dirt drive until she heard Sodapop's voice.

"What happened to you?" Sara had nearly forgotten what her appearance looked like. She dipped her head and stared at what used to be a pale pink and blue striped skirt was now a pale pink blue striped skirt with big green blotches all over the front from where her and Ms. Martin tried cleaning it up.

"Ummm, I spilt paint on myself." She said shyly, but more because she was embarrassed.

"I can see that. Darry isn't gonna be too happy about this. Jeez, Sara did you leave any paint on the paper? " Sandy had now moved up against Sodapop and was also looking Sara over from head to toe.

"You know Soda, maybe I can help get that out and we can save it after all and Darry won't even need to know." Sandy was smiling sweetly at both Sara and Sodapop.

Soda leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Sandy's cheek and whispered. "You're amazing, you know that?"

"I know." She said blushing.

"C'mon, let's get you home and cleaned up. I swear Sara, only you could make such a mess." Soda said shaking his head at Sara. She was waiting for him to grab her book bag like he always did, and when he started to reach for her, Sara let a small smile tug at her face, for he wasn't ignoring her after all. But the smile soon slipped away. For Sodapop reached right across Sara and grabbed for Sandy's hand and the two walked hand and hand back towards Steve's car where he was waiting with Evie. The five piled into the car and Steve drove them all back to the Curtis' house. The minute Steve parked the car Sara dashed outta the car and towards the house where she couldn't wait to get out of the dirty skirt. She disappeared into her room to get changed but was soon interrupted with a knock on her door.

"Sara?" Sandy's soft feminine voice rang into her room. "Sara, I've come to see what I can do to save that skirt. Can I come on?"

"Just a second." Sara answered as she finished slipping into a pair of overalls. Once she had the buckles snapped she opened her door to see Sandy standing there looking like a beautiful angel, twirling her long blonde hair. "Here." Sara tossed the skirt towards Sandy. "You don't have to try to fix it. Darry will probably yell at me either way." Sara couldn't look up at Sandy so instead she just kept dragging her toe against the grain of the wood floor.

"I want to try, Sara. Besides, we just might be able to fix it before Darry even knows. Now do you want to come help me?" Sara shrugged her shoulders. She didn't have anything else to do, and she kind of liked the attention that she was getting from Sandy. It was better than being ignored by Soda, Steve and Evie. So she followed Sandy back to the washing machine where she watched her take the detergent and pour it over the stain and then added some cold water. "Sara, can you go get me some baking soda."

Sara flashed Sandy a weird look. "Get you what?" Sara asked not having a clue of what baking soda was.

"Baking soda. Just ask Sodapop, he'll know what I need." Sara slumped out to the living room where Soda was sitting on the couch with Steve and Evie.

"Soda?" Sara said trying to get passed Steve and Evie. "Soda, Sandy needs baking powder."

"What?" Soda said a little harshly, acting annoyed that Sara was asking him for something and taking Sandy away from him.

"Baking powder." Sara repeated, but Evie started giggling, letting Sara know that she said it wrong.

"No Sara, I think Sandy needs baking soda, not baking powder." Sara started to feel her cheeks heat with embarrassment, while Evie corrected her request.

"Yeah, baking soda." Sara stuttered out hanging her head in embarrassment. But Soda wasn't helping the matter any when he joined in the laughter with Evie and Steve, while pulling himself up off the couch to help get Sandy what she needed.

"Oh, Evie, look at this, Sandy and Sodapop playing house. It's kind of cute isn't it?" Steve said harassing Soda as he walked pass with Sara on his heels.

"Shut it!" Soda hissed back not laughing any longer.

"I think it's cute, they even got the kid to go along with it. Baking powder, now that would of made a mess in the washing machine. I should of gone with it. It would of made for good entertainment." Evie added to the harassing.

"I could think of some other things that will make for good entertainment." Steve leaned in and started taking some nibbles off of Evie's neck.

"Stop Steve. Not in front of the kid." Evie moved in to push Steve away but was stopped short.

"Ah, she's long gone. Plus Soda said that she's on restrictions for the stunt she pulled on Saturday, so no tv. Which means no kid in here to bother us." Evie flashed Steve a huge grin and let him continue to suck on her neck.

"Sandy, here's the baking soda, not baking powder which is what you almost got instead." Soda said tossing a look of stupidity in Sara's direction.

"What? I didn't ask for baking powder." Sandy reached for the baking soda and started to sprinkle it on the skirt.

"Oh, Sara almost brought you baking powder." Soda had gently pushed Sara off to the side as he slipped in behind Sandy and let his hands linger around her waist. Sodapop continued to let his hands slide up from Sandy's waist to her side then to her breast as he watched her rubbed the baking soda and detergent into the stains.

"Stop, Soda. Let me finish this." Sandy laughed while having a hard time keeping from squirming around as Soda was playfully tickling her now. "Soda, stop! Go get me your clothes and I'll throw them in with this skirt. No sense in wasting water on just this."

"Yes, Ma'am." Soda said walking right past Sara without acknowledging her. Sara watched with a sad expression while Soda brushed passed her and into his room. He returned in just a few seconds with an arm full of dirty clothes for Sandy to wash.

"Thanks." Sandy threw them in and turned the machine on and smiled down at Sara and patted the top of her head. "We'll give that a try. Try not to worry about Darry." Sara tried to return Sandy's sweet smile but was having a hard time revealing a real smile, so a fake one appeared instead. Soda scowled at her knowing her real versus fake grins.

"Sara, what do you say to Sandy for trying to help you?" When Sara didn't respond, Soda gave her a nudge with his leg. "You know better than to be rude."

"Thank you, Sandy. I appreciate you trying to help." Sara brought her eyes up so she could see Sodapop's and when he wasn't smiling she pushed her way passed him and ran off back to her bedroom where she regretted closing the door with a little more force than she wanted to. But to her relief Sodapop just let it go for he had better things to do rather than scold her.

Sara spent what seemed like a few hours just puttering around her room, looking through her books, playing with her dolls; and doing a little coloring but also did a little eavesdropping on the teenagers' conversation out in the living room. After getting over her anger with Sodapop she cracked open her door and stood next to it listening. She didn't get any juicy gossip but boy was she surrounded by horny teenagers, as Dally would often say. Sara was pretty sure that if she used that word in front of her brothers that she would be revisiting that experience with the ivory soap again. But it was true for she had ventured out a few times and both times she caught the boys sucking face with their girls and at one point Steve almost had Evie's shirt completely off. The buttons on the front of the blouse were undone and Sara could clearly see Evie's bar and bare mid drift showing. Sara had come out to ask about something to eat but the minute she saw Steve and Evie in Darry's chair she hurried back to her room to regain herself. As she stood against here door thinking she knew she would need a plan to get Sodapop's attention. This time she decided that she would give a warning, so once she opened her door she hollered out to Sodapop. "Soda?" She waited a second and when there wasn't a response, she hollered louder the next time "Soda?"

"In the living room." He yelled back. This gave Evie time to fix herself before Sara came out again. She moved into the living room where Sandy was sitting in Soda's lap and the two looked awfully flushed. "What is it Sara?"

"I'm hungry." Sara whined. Soda was ready to reply with a remark but Sandy cut him off.

"You know, I'm getting kind of hungry too. Aren't you taking me to the Dingo for dinner?"

"Well, that was the plan, before, but now things have changed a little." Soda said nodding over towards Sara.

"Oh, well, why can't we just bring here along? She won't cause any trouble. She can sit at a table behind us, or somewhere you can still keep an eye on her, but we can be alone." Sandy suggested.

Soda pursed his lips together thinking it over, but once he looked back over towards Sara he knew better. "Nah, I can't do that. Darry will have my head. He doesn't like her hanging out there. But we can go get take out. We'll bring it back here. How does that sound?"

"Yeah, that sounds great. Maybe you and Steve can go and Evie and I can stay here."

"Speak for yourself. I'm not staying here with the kid! I want to go see if Angie and the girls are hanging out down there." Evie was quick to answer.

"Fine, I'll stay here with Sara. Is that ok, Sara?" Sandy asked smiling over at the young girl. Sara shook her head yes. But what Sara was actually thinking was what would be really nice is if that Steve, Evie and Sandy went so that she had some alone time with Soda, but it didn't look like that was going to happen. Sara just needed some alone time with Soda to express about how rotten of a day she had. How awful it had been to listen to her classmates talk about going to the dance and spilling the paint and the horrible bus driver. She just needed some attention from him. When things just didn't feel right, Darry warned her that she needs to start learning tell someone. She remembers his quote clearly. "Sara, we aren't mind readers, so when something bothering you, you need to tell us." And now that it seemed like her whole routine was being thrown out of whack and with Sodapop acting so strangely since the girls were around, she just didn't feel like she could say anything now. Or more like that she didn't feel like anyone would listen to her right now. "Good. Why don't you guys get going and Sara and I'll be waiting here for you." Sandy said while started to get up off of Soda's lap when he pulled her back down making her giggle.

"How did I get so lucky to land such a fine lady as you?" He asked her.

"Well, Sodapop Patrick Curtis, you just said it yourself, pure luck, I guess." Sandy planted a quick kiss on Soda's lips and then tried to get back up again while Steve and Evie grabbed their coats and threw them on.

"Let's get heading if we're going." Steve mentioned while he and Evie moved towards the door to go get in the car.

"What do you want?" Soda asked Sandy.

"I'll take a cheeseburger deluxe, and a medium fry and a."

"Cherry Coke." Soda finished for her.

"Yes and a Cherry Coke." Sandy said giving her full pink lips a lick with the tip of her tongue.

"And you?" He finally turned his attention over to Sara. Sara was kind of disappointed for Soda knew what she likes just like he knew what Sandy liked, but he wasn't playing with her, like he was with Sandy. "Sara, I'm waiting. What do you want?"

"A cheeseburger with pickles and mustard. A small fry and a vanilla milk shake." Sara quickly answered.

"Alright then, we'll be back soon." Soda kissed Sandy again and moved towards the door, while Sara was waiting patiently for her good bye and when Soda stopped she knew it was coming, but once again she was wrong. "Sara, be good for Sandy. If you give her any trouble, you're off to bed early. Got it?"

"She'll be just fine, now get outta here and get us starving girls some dinner." Sandy waved Sodapop off and the two watched as he chased after Steve and Evie. They watched out the door as Steve peeled away. Sara and Sandy sighed at the same time, but for two totally different reasons. "So, you wanta see how that skirt came out?" She said turning to head down the hall. Sara followed right behind her like a timid little puppy. Sandy was already taking the clothes out and placing them into the laundry basket when Sara arrived at her side. "Oh, look Sara, it came out." Sandy couldn't help but be proud of herself. "See, no worries. Darry will never even need to know you spilled anything on it." Sara was pleasantly surprised and gave Sandy a genuine smile, probably the first one all day.

"Wow, Sandy it looks brand new, how did you know about getting the stain out?"

Sandy's smiled slipped a little, "My Mother teaches me all her tricks of the trade. So that I can be a good wife someday."

"Oh." Sara said with a dip in her voice. But then it dawned on Sara. "You mean to Soda?" Sara said shyly.

Sandy couldn't hide her embarrassment to this question, so Sandy let out a fake chuckle. "Umm, maybe one day Sara, but not anytime soon, that's for sure."

"Oh." Sara said a little relieved to hear that Sandy wouldn't be taking Sodapop away from her anytime soon.

Sandy moved over and grabbed the laundry basket, "Come and help me hang theses up." Sara followed along and even though the sun was starting to set low in the sky, the breeze might still be able to dry the wet clothes. Sara and Sandy worked together in harmony for a while. Sara would pass Sandy the clothes and she would hang them up. They were in perfect rhythm until Sandy brought up the dreaded topic.

"So, Sara, I heard that Sodapop is bringing you to the Father-Daughter dance. Are you excited?" She asked reaching for a clothespin.

Sara shrugged her shoulders and found herself freely wanting to talk about this with Sandy. "Yes and no." She said slowly while grabbing for a pair of jeans from the basket. "I don't really know how to slow dance. I'm not very good at it."

"That's ok, you don't really need to." Sandy said pinning a clothespin to the jeans. "Can I tell ya a secret?" Sara shook her head eagerly. "Sodapop has to be one of the best dancers around. He'll be able to lead you all around the dance floor, and you'll never miss a beat."

"That's what I'm afraid of. What if he is ashamed to be seen dancing with a klutz like me?"

"Nonsense! He could never be ashamed of you. Don't you know how much he loves you?" Sandy asked crouching down onto one knee so that the two were looking eye to eye.

"Not as much as he loves you." Sara announced to Sandy. Sandy's started to feel her chest pulpit and her cheeks started to flush but she needed to confide in Sara what she knew.

"Oh Sara, you have it all wrong. You, by far, have a bigger place in his heart than I will ever have. I could never begin to fill that place you have already occupied in his heart."

"I don't know about that Sandy." Sara said avoiding contact with her while handing her one of Soda's favorite shirts.

"I do and it's the truth." Sara couldn't resist but smile at the thought that just maybe she did hold a bigger place in Soda's heart after all. Just maybe what Soda had been telling her all along was true. Sandy started to stand back up to finish hanging the laundry when she added. "You know, I think he's more excited to go to this thing, than you."

"How do you know that?" Sara asked with surprise.

"He told me so, just the other night as a matter of fact. He was asking me what he should wear to it. He's really honored that he gets to take you. I can't wait to see him all dressed up. He'll look so handsome."

Sara's head popped up at the mention of can't wait to see him all dressed up. Why would Sandy see him all dressed up? "Are you going too?" she asked with some anger in her voice.

"Yup, my dad is taking me and my little sister Shirley. Do you remember Shirley? When I get a minute I'm gonna look through some of Shirley's trunks to see if she might have a dress you can borrow. I hope you don't mind but Soda asked me too." Sara shook her head but had now lost the smile she was just wearing moments ago. Sara now knew the real reason why Soda was so eager to take her to the dance, it wasn't because of her at all, it was because Sandy was going. Deep down Sara knew there was more to it than just her. And so there it was again, back to Sandy. Sara had now lost all interest in helping Sandy with the laundry and their friendly chat they were sharing. All she wanted to do was go and hide. She can't believe that she had fallen for Soda's charm and making her feel like he really wanted to take her. She turned to Sandy and quickly thought up of an excuse to go back inside. "Sandy, I've gotta go to the bathroom."

"Ok, Sara. I'll be right in." Sara ran as fast as she could through the house and into the bathroom. There she closed the door and locked it tight and just sat down on the toilet seat. Her head was spinning in all directions. After everything she had been through today she couldn't hold back the tears any longer; so she just silently let them flow. All this time she knew that Soda had a hidden agenda on why he was taking her. Well, no more, after Sandy leaves tonight she was gonna make sure she let Soda know that she didn't want to go anymore. She didn't want to go with a fake and phony! Even though the thought of going was kind of nice, but now that she was being used as a pawn she wasn't gonna play into that game, no soiree bob. Sara heard the backdoor slam shut and she quickly tried to catch her breath and stop the tears that were seeping down her cheeks. "Sara?" Sandy called. When Sara hadn't answer Sandy moved over to the close door and tried to turn the knob. "Sara? Are you ok in there?"

"Yup. Just feeling a little ill." Sara replied back, and in fact all this realization was truly making her feel sick to her stomach. How could he Sara thought? That's not loving me.

"Do you need anything?" Sandy asked with concern in her voice.

"No."

"Ok. Well, Soda, Steve and Evie just pulled up with dinner. I hope you're feeling well enough to eat."

"I'll be right out." Sara sat there and furiously wiped at the tears that were still streaming down her checks. As Sara was trying to clean up her face she heard Sandy move away from the door and was speaking with Sodapop. It wasn't seconds after that Sara heard footsteps coming closer to the door.

"Sara?" He called through. When Sara knew that her voice wasn't strong enough to answer without cracking she decided not to respond. "Sara! What are you doing in there? I've brought back your burger and fry." Sara eyes grew wide with just the mention of the cheeseburger and fry. "Sara! Now!"

"I'm coming." She managed to get out without Soda noticing her cracking voice.

"Sometime today would be nice, before it gets cold." Soda warned. Sara walked over to her towel that was hanging on the back of the door and rubbed it up and down against her wet face. Once she thought that it was dry she slowly opened the door. She took her time moving from the bathroom into the kitchen, and when she turned the corner there sat the four teenagers eating and laughing. But once they noticed her presence their conversation stopped. "Sara come here." Sara was having a really hard time making eye contact with Soda knowing what she knew now about the dance. She shuffled over to him and within a second she was in his reach. Soda grabbed her arm and pulled her closer. He placed his hand on the back of her forehead. "What's wrong? Sandy tells me that you don't feel well."

"Ah, it's just my stomach. It'll be ok in a bit."

"It's probably just because you're hungry. Here's your fries and burger." Soda held up the red and white checked bag and her box of fries, but Sara started to curl her nose up to it.

"If you don't mind, I'll just start with my milkshake first and see how that settles." Soda let out a moan, which made Sara bring her head up and look around the table. Her eyes darted all around looking for the white foam cup that the Dingo used for their frappes and milkshakes. When her eyes couldn't land on one she turned to Soda with her bottom lip trembling.

"Sara." He started to say but couldn't find the words to finish.

"My milkshake?" Sara choked on a sob.

"I'm sorry, Sara. I forgot it." Sodapop tried to think of something else to say, but what could he say.

"You didn't forget Sandy's Cherry Coke." Sara sputtered out.

"No, I didn't. I said I was sorry. I'll get you one next time, I promise. How about you try to eat your burger?" Sara just shook her head no and spun around and darted outta of the room.

"Soda, how could you? Doesn't she always get the same exact thing every time at the Dingo?" Sandy said giving Soda a pity look.

"I just forgot. I didn't do it on purpose if that's what you're trying to insinuate."

"I'm not insinuating anything, Sodapop. I'm just asking you how on earth you could forget to order your sister a milkshake when she gets one every single time. Even I know that."

"I just did, can we let it go?" Soda said dipping his fries into a container of ketchup.

"We can but she's not" Steve chuckled while pointing to the hall. Steve knew Sara well enough to know this wasn't over yet.

"Go get her one Soda." Sandy pleaded.

"No way, I'm not going back to the Dingo just to get her a damn milkshake. She'll get over it."

"Oh, but I think I can hear her crying in there Soda." Evie tried adding to the guilt that Soda was already feeling.

"She's fine. Maybe she'll cry herself to sleep. Then that will give us some alone time." Soda said peaking a glance over at Sandy.

"Get your head outta the gutter, Soda." She replied slapping at his arm. The four teenagers finished up their dinner and cleaned up and moved back out to the living room where they turned the radio on and started a game of poker. Before the game started Sandy picked up Sara's cheeseburger and cold fries and walked down to her room. She knocked lightly but when she didn't hear a response she jiggled the knob of the door to alert Sara that she was entering. When Sandy entered the room it was dark, and quiet. Sara had some light illuminating from a nightlight that was plugged in across the room. "Sara? Sara I brought you your burger and fries, though I don't think the fries are any good now, kinda cold." Sandy walked over to her nightstand and placed them down. "Sara, I know you're awake. Soda is really sorry, he just forgot. You really shouldn't bite off your nose to spite your face. You know you're hungry." Sandy waited for a second and when Sara didn't respond she tried one more time. "Fine, I'll leave them right here on your nightstand. I hope that you decide to eat. If you need anything Soda and I are out in the living room. Just come get us." Sandy watched as Sara's back shook some from her trying to hold back her sobs. "Goodnight." Sandy moved back towards Sara's door and shut it tightly. That way they would hear her if she decided to come wandering out. As Sandy moved back through the kitchen to the living room she caught a glimpse of the clock, almost seven thirty. Her parents wanted her home by eight thirty seeing it was a school night. She only had a little over and hour left with Sodapop. As she moved back into the living room Sodapop looked up from his cards.

"You went in and checked on her, didn't you?"

"Yeah, I brought her burger and fries in."

"And?" He questioned again. Soda was actually feeling a little bad about things now.

"And she pretended to be asleep, but she was still crying, so she didn't fool me." Sandy said sitting down next to Soda on the couch. Evie and Steve were listening as they were organizing their cards.

"Well, if the little squirt went down to bed, why don't we play a little strip poker?" Steve suggested raising an eyebrow to Sodapop. "What do you think there Pepsi Cola?"

"I'm in. Girls?" Soda asked looking at Sandy then back over at Evie.

"I'm in." Evie answered.

"I don't know Soda. She's not sleeping yet, and what about Darry and Pony? When are they getting home?"

"Not for another hour or so. Just a few rounds, Sand?" Sandy hem and hawed about it while getting peer pressure from the rest. "I've got to be home by eight thirty, Soda. And I told Sara that if she needed anything we would be out here and she could come and get us."

"Stop worrying. You'll be home in time. And Sara won't come out. I know her. She'll probably cry herself to sleep." Soda's pressure finally made Sandy give in.

"Alright. I'm in, but only a few rounds. And we're not playing full strip poker, just to underwear and bras."

"Let's get this game started then!" Steve said rubbing his hands together. The group started in with their card game and were making so much racket that even if Sara wanted to sleep she couldn't. All she could hear were laughter and high pitch squeals coming from the girls. Sara tried throwing a pillow over her head but she could still hear the teenagers out in the other room. She tossed and turned and wished that she could throw on her music to help, but she wasn't ready to take that risk. As Sara debated about getting up and trying to make amends with Soda she thought twice about it and rolled back over to face the wall.

Out in the living room things had certainly heated up. For both girls were down to nothing but panties and bras, and Steve was down to his t-shirt and boxers while Soda was left with his pants and no shirt. They were on the last round, for which ever girl lost the game was over, and Sandy was the unfortunate one to lose the last hand. Sodapop reached over and grabbed Sandy and started rubbing his scruff on her smooth, bare stomach.

"Soda, c'mon. We can't start this here, and you know it." Sandy was giggling, and trying to play hard to get but was in fact loving every caress and kiss that Soda was planting on her bare skin.

"Go get a room." Evie shouted at the two. Soda stopped in his tracks and raised an eyebrow, while Sandy couldn't resist the temptation. She just blushed as Sodapop jumped up and grabbed her hand to have her follow.

"I have a room available. Free of charge." Soda said flashing his movie star grin. How on earth could Sandy possible resist this beautiful golden hair stud, with his deep dark hershey eyes, standing tall baring his muscular chest in just a pair of light washed jeans and bare feet?

Steve started hooting and hollering before Soda was quick to hush him up. "Quiet down, you'll wake Sara! I didn't get this far for nothing." Soda warned.

"Go then. We're taking the couch. I'll whistle if Darry and Pony pull up. So it might need to be a quickie." Steve said releasing a devilish grin. Soda pulled Sandy along to his room where he closed the door behind them and tossed Sandy down on the bed. The two rolled around engaging in some foreplay before Soda reminded Sandy of the time.

"Sandy if we're gonna do this, we need to be quick about it."

"Ok." Sandy answered between moans. "Do you have protection?"

"Yup, hold on." Sodapop jumped out of bed bared ass and walked over to his dresser. He pulled open the top drawer and fished around. Once he found it he ripped it open and took the rubber out and slipped it over his penis. "Are you ready?" He asked softly.

"Yes." She responded. Soda climbed back on top of Sandy and started grinding back and forth.

Sara noticed that it had quieted down some out in the other room. She had been going back and forth about talking with Soda so she decided this would probably be a good time to go and try to talk with him. She figured that maybe talking with him would make her feel better and that would help her be able to sleep. She slipped out of bed and tip toed across the cold floor towards her door. She slowly opened the door and stuck her head out. She couldn't really hear much, for it was really quiet. Sara thought that the group must of left to go back home. She moved through the dark hall towards the only light that was on in the living room. As she passed by the boys' room she noticed the door was closed and wondered why, but moved on through the kitchen. Once she got to the kitchen she couldn't hear much but moans and groans. As she moved around the corner she caught a glimpse of Steve who was lying on top of Evie. Sara didn't know what to say and all she could do was let out a little gasp. The gasp was loud enough though for Evie's ears for when she looked over she caught Sara standing there with her eyes as big as saucers and mouth hanging open. But to her relief she was thankful that Steve was on top of her and that he still had his boxers and t-shirt on. "Steve, the kid!" Evie shouted. Steve quickly jumped and turned towards Sara.

"Jesus, Sara. What are you doing?" Steve yelled. Sara was in such a dazed that she practically jumped when Steve yelled. "Sodapop!" Was the next thing out of Steve's mouth, but not only Steve's for Sara said it too right about the same time.

"Soda!" Sara yelled and took off towards the closed door. Sara knew that's the only other place Sodapop could be if he wasn't in the living room. The instant Sara took off, Steve knew that trouble was about ready to happen.

"Ah, shit!" Steve said fumbling for his jeans and trying to pull them on as he was hobbling towards the boys' room after Sara. "Sara, don't go in there!" Steve warned, but it was too late. Sara had flung open the boys' door where she looked over onto the bed where Sodapop was lying on top of a naked Sandy. The two were moaning and Sodapop was rocking back and forth when he stopped to look over at a totally stunned Sara. "Soda!" Steve yelled through the house.

"Soda?" Sara's small voice called out.

"Sara! Get out!" Soda yelled. Just about the time Soda was yelling for Sara to get out Steve arrived at the door.

"Sorry man, I tried warning you."

"Steve, get her outta here! Now!" The seriousness in Soda's tone was enough for Steve to grab Sara around the waist and swing her outta the room. And it was at that splitting second that all hell was just about to let loose. For Steve was just setting a screaming Sara down on her feet when they heard the front screen slam shut and all eyes turned to see Darry and Ponyboy coming through the living room, while Evie had just finished buttoning herself up. Both boys looked exhausted and this was not going to be good.

"Let me go!" Sara said pounding on Steve's arm and back to let her loose.

"Oh fuck." Steve said releasing the whistle that was meant to alarm Sodapop when Darry and Ponyboy where home.

"What's go on here?" Darry said storming passed Evie and into the hall where he noticed his sister screaming and Steve swearing. "Sodapop!" Darry yelled through the house as he headed towards the boys' room, but also watching Sara head straight down the hall veering towards the last room on the right. Just as Darry was reaching the boys' room Soda came rushing out of the room only clad in his jeans. Darry only needed to take one look at the boy to know what exactly just went down. "You didn't? I trusted you Sodapop! Where is she?"

"Who? Sara?" Soda had the nerve to ask.

"No, not Sara, Sandy." Darry asked while clinching his fist in anger. Soda stiffly moved to the side of the door as a much disheveled Sandy slipped on past Soda. "Sandy, I think it's time for you to get on home. Steve, can you please drive Sandy and Evie on home, and don't even think about returning back to this house until I say you can!"

"C'mon on Sandy." Steve said reaching for Sandy's hand to help her get passed a very pissed off Darry. Sandy stopped and was ready to place a kiss on Soda's check when Darry pushed his arm in between the two to stop her.

"I think there has been plenty of that going on so this one can wait." Darry said sternly.

"Sorry Soda. Call me when you can." Sandy gave Sodapop a weak smile and quickly slipped out with Steve. Sodapop tried to go after her down the hall, but Darry quickly had him pinned up against the wall with his strong body. Ponyboy in the meantime had rushed over to the door of the last room on the right where Sara had blockade herself in.

"Darry, she's locked the door and won't open it." Pony announced.

"Just great. This is exactly what I want to deal with after working two jobs today." Darry still had his forearm up against Sodapop and pinned to the wall. Now Darry's eyes were normally ice cold, but at the present moment they were burning with fire. He looked straight into Sodapop's eyes and softly, but firmly spoke. "You're a damn idiot! How could you? We've talked about this at least a hundred times now. I gave in tonight and trusted that the girls could come over and this wouldn't happen. But never again Soda, never! How much did she see?" Darry asked raising his voice so that Pony now could hear the conversation from where he was standing. When Sodapop turned to look down towards the hall where Pony was still trying to get into the room he just shook his head. "Soda, how much did she see?" Darry's now soft and firm voice was long gone and had been replaced with shouts. "Damn it, Soda, you best get talking!" Darry pounded his left fist right against the wall that Soda's head was leaning against.

In a very low audible tone so Pony couldn't hear Soda responded, "All of it."
