Chapter 3: The Challenge

The morning came after Maka and Soul were going to challenge Hanakai and Taila to a match of who could defeat more kisshin within an hour. So, they woke up about 9 a.m. to get ready and at exactly 10 o-clock, a knock was heard on their door.

"Oh my gosh, are they here already?" Maka asked no one in particular, and then she called a little louder, "Soul! Can you get the door please!?"

Soul walked to the door to answer it, "Yeah, yeah." He opened it up and Hanakai and Taila were standing there wearing there casual attire. Hanakai was smiling normally and Taila smiled slightly and was blushing a bit.

"Hey, come on in guys, Maka will be out in just a few moments." Soul said as he stepped aside to let them in.

Maka yelled from her room, "Hi Hanakai, hi Taila." Then she walked out with a smile on her face as she was putting up her second ponytail.

"Hi Maka, nice place you got here." Hanakai said, gesturing to the whole apartment. Taila nodded as he said this.

"Thanks, can I get you two anything or are you guys ready to go?" Maka said with a curious look on her face and starting to move towards the kitchen.

Hanakai shook his head, "No, thank you, Taila and I ate before we got here. We're ready to go as soon as you guys are."

"We're ready, so come on, I know a place where kisshin are always roaming." So Maka and Soul led the other two to a run-down part of town. When they got there, Soul turned into his scythe form and Maka turned around to see that Taila had done the same.

"So to recap, we have one hour to hunt down as many kisshin as possible. Whoever wins gets to make the loser do whatever they want for a whole year. If there's a tie, then we get to make each other do anything the other wants for a year and there's no vetoing." Hanakai said spinning Taila around skillfully, trying to impress Maka.

"That's correct. And you have to stay within this part of town." Maka added as she swung Soul around and behind her skillfully as well, showing Hanakai that she was more then competent. Hanakai nodded his approval and off they went.

(Maka)

Maka ran the opposite direction as Hanakai ran and she came to a kisshin almost immediately. She ran up to him and put her game face on and ran up to it as it just noticed her and she ran right by him and cut him down. Soul ate the soul and they continued on. "One." Maka said to herself.

(Hanakai)

Hanakai was running through the streets and he saw a kisshin getting ready to rob a store and he ran up and kicked him away from the door and the kisshin looked at him but was too late to notice the scythe blade going right through him. Taila slurped up the soul and Hanakai continued with his hunt. "One." Hanakai said, desperate to keep count.

(Both)

When the hour was up, Maka and Hanakai met up where they came in. "How many did you get?" Maka asked Hanakai.

Hanakai look disappointed, "Barely any, I got 3," he sighed. "How many did you get?"

Maka looked scared, "Uhhhhh…I um…got the same…thing," she said shuffling her feet.

"So…we tied then I guess, huh?" Hanakai asked her. Maka nodded, kind of worried of what might happen next. Hanakai looked at her, "Well, let's wait till tomorrow to start our making-each-other-do-anything-they-want-for-a-year bet, deal?" Maka smiled at this and nodded.

"Well then, I guess Soul and I should get home, we'll see you tomorrow Hanakai." Then she turned and started walking towards home. Hanakai was watching her until she was no longer able to be seen. Then he and Taila went home themselves, both of them anxious to see what was going to transpire the next day.

Finally, after MONTHS, I was able to get this done. I hope you all like it, please R&R and please, no dissing, I don't need it in my life. Just compliments and constructive criticism only, I want to be able to make my stories better. And remember to look at my poll to see what I should do next.
