"Can I sit with you?" Stiles heard a voice ask. He looked up in surprise. None of his friends usually asked, they just sat. Who he saw was not who he was expecting at all. Kira was standing in front of him. He and Kira had never exactly been the best of friends. She joined the group during the whole Nogitsune thing so while Stiles knew what she did to help the group, he had sort of avoided her since. He didn't blame her for the Nogitsune thing, he just felt guilty and she was the only one he could really get away with avoiding seeing as he barely knew her.

Realizing she was waiting for an answer he said, "Uh, yeah sure." Smiling briefly at him she sat down with her coffee. "So what are you doing here?" he asked, wanting to avoid the awkward silence he knew was bound to come.

"Uhh, I had heard Scott and you talking about this place the other day and so I thought I would try it out. It's as good as you guys said," she answered.

"Yeah, it's great here. I come here a lot," Stiles said, feeling slightly more awkward than usual. Stiles was used to being awkward, that part was nothing new. He was the master at awkward. It was the whole, what do you say to your best friend's not-girlfriend girlfriend when you have never actually had a proper conversation with the girl? "So, how are you liking the calmer side of Beacon Hills?" he finally decided on asking.

"Oh, it's umm, it's great," she told him. He simply lifted his eyebrow at her. Or well tried… He would never be able to do that. "Ok, so I'm a little bored. I mean, I'm glad that you are no longer a crazy killer. Sorry! Poor choice of words, I so didn't mean it like that!" she said when Stiles flinched.

"It's, uh, it's ok."

"Um, anyway, I'm glad everything has calmed down, but, oh, I don't really know how to put this," she said, stumbling over her words.

"You got used to the craziness and don't know what to do anymore?" Stiles guessed.

"Pretty much," Kira admitted.

"It happens, and right when you get used to having a semi-freaking normal life again, some other crap happens to mess it all up," he said, somewhat bitterly.

"How do you get used to it?" she asked.

"You don't, well at least I hope I will never get used to it, but, sadly, I don't think that will be the case. You just sort of start accepting that this is your life now. That this crazy messed up world is what you are living in. So I guess it's not getting used to it, but more like just accepting it," Stiles rambled.

"You've thought a lot about this haven't you?" she asked him.

"This has been my life for almost two years. I've been almost killed by my best friend, quite a few times, I got kidnapped by a crazy alpha to save a girl that would turn out to be one of my best friends. I've been stuck in a pool for hours trying to keep a paralyzed alpha alive even though he was trying to kill said girl, I've been kidnapped and beaten by crazy Argents. I've had to watch my father get kidnapped by a crazy druid set on sacrificing him, I've sacrificed myself to find my father, and I've been possessed by a Nogitsune and killed two of my friends, and almost killed the rest, including you. I've lost more friends than I care to think about and seen enough dead bodies to last me five lifetimes all in those two years. Yeah, I'd say I've thought about it a lot…" Stiles ranted, finishing with a slight chuckle, though nothing about this was funny. "I'm sorry, I don't know why I told you all that, I barely know you and I'm dumping all of my problems out on you."

Kira didn't really know what to say. She knew that they had all been through a lot, hell, she still had nightmares about what happened with the Nogitsune, but she had never really thought about how much Stiles had been through. She had been so busy trying to help Scott and Lydia come to terms with Allison's death that she forgot that Stiles went through the exact same thing, but he never went to anyone for help.

"My mom always says that talking about this stuff can help. Just letting it out, even if it's to someone you barely know, helps. So do you feel better? Now that you let everything out?" she asked him.

Thinking about it, yeah, Stiles did feel a bit better. He gave Kira a small smile. "Yeah a bit, thanks."

"For what?"

"For listening, for letting me rant," he told her honestly.

"Any time, it's what friends are for," she replied. He smiled. He was glad she considered them friends even after all that he had done, whether it had actually been him or not.

"So what about you? How are you holding up?"

"Not bad I guess, I mean, the whole Nogitsune thing was pretty scary… sorry… and seeing Allison and Aidan die was hard, but I didn't know them nearly as well as you guys did, so I feel like I don't really have the right to be affected by it," she told him, eyes downcast.

"Dude, you're only 17 and you've seen two people, two friends, get killed. It doesn't matter if we knew them better, you are allowed to be affected by it," he said.

"I guess you're right, thanks. It's just hard knowing that all of this stuff that I always thought were just stories are actually real and happening in my own town. And the fact that we don't understand half of what is going on most of the time is terrifying." She looked down at her coffee, swirling it around in her hands, thinking of everything that has happened and that is going to happen. Wondering if they would be able to handle it. Looking at her watch she realized that she had to go, she told her parents she wouldn't be long, and that had been an hour ago. "Hey, thanks for the talk, and I'm always here if you need to rant. I'm an expert on the art of babbling so I'll be able to keep up. I need to get going, but I'll see you around. Bye, Stiles."

"See ya Kira, and I might take you up on that offer to talk. But hey, just remember, even if you don't know what's going on, if some evil supernatural thing comes up to you, stab first, ask questions later," he tells her with a laugh. She started laughing and left the bakery with a wave.

Looking back at his coffee, Stiles was surprised to look up and see Derek sitting across from him. Derek raised an eyebrow at him, making Stiles oddly jealous. He really wished he could do that without looking like he was constipated or something. "Yes?" he asked the former alpha when the silence became awkward.

"Stab first, ask questions later, huh?"

Stiles just cracked a smile and leaned back, wondering of the days to come, thinking that just maybe, they won't actually be so bad now that he had a new friend on his side…Well, a boy could hope.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while! When I got home from school I had no internet at my house for like a week and a half, and then I honestly just had no motivation to finish this story. I actually enjoyed writing this one though! It is once again dedicated to EpicPickleNinja because she is the one that told me to add "stab first, ask questions later," and I'm honestly just too lazy to find someone else to dedicate my stories to…. Is that bad? I feel like it might be… Sorry for the extremely tiny amount of Derek… writing him is extremely difficult and I don't have the skill… Anyway, I'm done rambling now… I always wonder how many people actually read my ramblings… Anyway, I don't own Teen Wolf, if I did season 4 would be out already. So you are all looking fabulous this fine day… or morning I guess…
