Chapter 20: The New Classmate

9 closed his eyes in sadness. Until a voice came in to him in the present.

Aliana: Here's a tip for you class. Whenever you saw the first number in your periodic table means that is the number of the energy level of the element. Followed by second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh energy levels. The chosen elements have different energy levels so some aren't matched to your classmates' elements. This is in order to prevent cheating in my class.

9 looked to his periodic table Aliana gave to the class. He was given his element: Copper and Chlorine. Aliana was right, the energy levels are different. Everyone was asking what their energy levels of their elements looks like until Aliana tapped the board with her marker to silence the students.

Aliana: By tomorrow you will have a quiz about the periodic table.

Dib: Tomorrow?! I thought it's on Wednesday.

Aliana: It was until *gestures to Mordecai* SOMEBODY wants to take a test in enrolling to Section Anima.

Mordecai: Again?

Aliana: Again.

9 looked to Mordecai and Aliana. What are they talking about? And what do they mean 'Again'?

The bell rang and the students went to the cafeteria. They were discussing most about their classes, especially Science. Mostly Aliana always gave them quizzes even at the most drastic hour.

Finn: Dang, even after that incident we still have work to do.

Phineas: Well, we have many class suspensions. So we have to catch up.

Kyoko: *to 9* Say, what are your elements?

9: Copper and Chlorine.

Kyoko: *crosses arms* Well you're lucky, I got Iron and Oxygen. Why do I always got the hard elements?

Dib: Those elements aren't hard, you just think those elements are hard.

Kyoko: And what do you get, Smart Guy?

Dib: *sighs and rolls eyes* Kr and Ne.

Kyoko: In ENGLISH!

Dib: Uhhhh...Krypton and Neon!

Kyoko: Geez, you could have just said the real name and not the symbol.

Mickey: Hmm...I wonder what questions will she give to us?

Kyoko: *bites some waffle* Maybe some hard questions that aren't from the book.

Tails: You know, The Divine Library has a lot of books in there. Maybe Ms. Divino got those questions from those books.

Finn: Yeah, I did saw her book from her library. Remember?

Lettuce: Oh! I just borrowed that book the last time.

Mickey: Maybe Tails is right, she could got those questions from those books in the library.

Kyoko: Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go already.

Dib: But will she let us go to her library?

Kyoko: Why won't you ask her?

Dib: Who? Me? *shakes his head* No way! I don't want to get a -10 from the quiz!

Kyoko: If you don't want to ask her, then who will? We couldn't get Mirai because he was still recovering from the shock last time.

Mordecai: Right...

Finn: How about Elijah?

The students looked to 9 who was reading their Science book from the class. 9 looked up and saw his classmates were staring at him strangely.

9: *confused* Uhhh...Why are you all staring at me?

Kyoko: *grins evilly* Well, we had a discussion about something. And we want you to do something for us.

9: What is it?

Kyoko: Go to Ms. Divino and ask her if she would allow us to go to her library.

9: Ok...But why?

Phineas: Well, you are the student whom Ms. Divino close to. Maybe she would be soft if you asked her.

9: *hung his head down* Oh...Ok.

He stood up from his chair and went to the classroom where Aliana was checking the Section Anima students' work. He knocks the door 3 times and took a deep breath while going inside. Heaven knows what would happen next.

Lettuce picked up a book from the shelf in The Divine Library. She went to the round table along with the students, including 9 who is extremely disappointed and embarrassed from what happened with Aliana. 9 received a -1 for asking.

Kyoko: Seriously? A -1 for asking?

Mickey: Well, at least it's not a -10.

9: *sighs* At least...*stands up from his chair*

Finn: Where are you going?

9: Get another book.

Tails: But Elijah, you got already tons of books you've picked up.

Dib: Yeah, isn't that already enough?

9: *bit his lip* I don't think so.

9 was seen at the farthest section of the library, the one who has the books about 'Life'. He remembered the word Bridget said when he met her for the first time.

No no! She's not that strict. She...has a stern heart, that's all. The principal is the on you have to worry about. But for Aliana, she's really a nice teacher, and you'll like her. Promise!

9 sighed in sadness. He placed his hand on a book when all of a sudden he felt a warm feeling on his hand. He looked and saw a hand,er, more like a horse hoof. The hoof was purple and warm. Where did that come from? He looked to his right and saw that he wasn't alone.

It was a unicorn pony with violet hair with magenta streaks and violet eyes facing at him. 9 and the pony had the same reaction to each other. The two were staring at each other until 9 pulled out the book from the shelf. They were embarrassed at that point until the unicorn spoke.

Unicorn: Sorry about that. *sighs* Looks like I'm going to borrow that in the other day.

9: Uhh...Uh...No, it's okay. *hands out the book to the unicorn* I - I wouldn't m-mind about it.

Unicorn: Are you sure?

9: *nods*

Unicorn: *uses her horns to lift the book from 9's hands* Thank you. I need this one for my test tomorrow.

9: A test?

The grandfather clock strikes at the time of the curfew. They had to go home.

Unknown: *shouting* Twilight! Come on, let's go home already!

Twilight: *shouts back* Coming! *to 9* Thank you again for the book.

9: *smiles* Your welcome.

Twilight galloped to her friends. 9 saw a blue Pegasus pony glaring at him slightly. 9 doesn't know why she was like that. Either she wants to have a clear vision or she's mad at him from something.

9 ran to the middle section of the room until he trip himself. The students were staring at him in concern. But 9 didn't mind and just picked up the books he choose.

When it was 9's turn to Aliana to give the permission to borrow the books, Aliana noticed that 9 lifted the books by himself without help. Those books already blocked his face.

Aliana: Do you need help from that?

9: No, I can do it.

Aliana: You know you'll break your spine for bringing so many books.

9: *saddens* But I'm a doll after all.

9 walked out of the library with so many books. Aliana shakes her head in disappointment. She already observed 9's feelings. Looks like 9 needs another companion.

The next day, the quiz ended. All of them were worried about the results. The students were walking to a hallway where 9 is going to return the books to the library. The students were guiding him on which way to go because the books blocked his face from seeing the way. He couldn't even peep because it's heavy.

Kyoko: *eating a Pocky stick* You know, you could have just bring one book than fourteen of them.

9: I had to pass those quizzes after all. I need to catch up.

Kyoko: Haven't you looked to your quiz paper?

9: *remembering* No, I hadn't.

Dib: You hadn't? Elijah, you're almost to the perfect score!

Mickey: That's because you reviewed a lot from those books, am I right?

9: *nods*

A sound of a galloping horse was heard from 9's 'ears'. The students saw 9 was heading to the wrong way.

Lettuce: Elijah, that's not the right way!

9: *stops* Where should I go?

Finn: Left.

Kyoko: No, it's right.

Finn: It's left, Kyoko.

Kyoko: Don't you see his leg was almost tangled? I say right.

9 just ignored them and go straight to wherever he was going. The sound became louder and louder as he walks further and further. Then all of a sudden Lettuce and a familiar voice shouted.

Lettuce: Elijah! Look out!

Unknown: Watch out!

But it was too late. A strange force made 9 fall backward spreading the books lying everywhere. His head felt numb from the pain the book gave him. He sat up and...did the same reaction in the library.

In front of him was the same Unicorn pony which he heard the name Twilight from the library. She also did the same reaction like the last time. The students' and Twilight's friends came to them in concern.

Tails: Are you okay, Elijah?

9: *holds his head then nods* I'm okay.

Fluttershy: Twilight are you okay?

Twilight: Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry about me.

Rainbow Dash: You sure about tha-

She saw Kyoko with 9. Rainbow Dash glared as Kyoko does to her also. Lightning strikes in their eyes as they glared. 9 and Twilight watch in extreme confusion as they picked up the books that are scattered on the floor. They saw that the students and Twilight's friends were dragging Kyoko and Rainbow Dash from each other. When they finished stacking the books, a purple dragon came to them.

Dragon: Twilight!

Twilight: Spike?

Spike: I saw what happened to you so I ran to the hallway to help. What happened to you? And why does this place smells like someone didn't took a bath in 52 years?

9: *raised his eyebrow slightly* Someone?

Twilight: *to 9* Forgive me about my friend here.

9: It's okay.

Spike: *looks at 9 suspiciously* Twilight, is this the guy you were talking about when you were in the library with the others?

Twilight: *smiles* Yep, that's him. *to 9* You're one of the Section Anima students, right?

9: *nods nervously* Yes, uh...

Twilight: Twilight, Twilight Sparkle. *gestures to Spike* This is Spike.

9: Nice to meet you. My name is-

Twilight: Elijah Oppenheimer.

9: How did you...

Spike: We saw you in the Quiz Bee. *points to 9's I.D* And it's on your I.D.

9: That's what my classmates call me.

Twilight: Call you?

9: My name is actually 9.

Spike: Well that's a weird name.

9: It isn't for me.

Twilight: Why do you have that name instead of Elijah Oppenheimer? Don't you remember where you got your name?

9: I...don't remember...anything...

Twilight: What about your family?

9: *saddens* No...

Twilight and Spike felt sorry. They all had families. But 9...it felt like he's an orphan. Everyone should have families after all.

Spike: What about your current name right now?

9: *looks at his I.D, then to Bridget's necklace* Bridget just gave me the name. I don't know why my real name isn't on the I.D.

Twilight: You don't like your name?

9: It's not that I don't like it. But the others were teasing me. I felt embarrassed about it.

Twilight: Embarrassed? I think it's a nice name. It has that scientific - celebrity touch to it.

9: Maybe I didn't live that name since I got here.

The bell rang. Which made Twilight panic.

Twilight: Oh no! I'm late and I hadn't studied for the test!

Spike: We better go right now or she'll never let you pass for the 15th time.

Twilight: *to 9* We're sorry if we wasted your time. We have to go. Bye!

The two ran like they're in a big rush accidentally dropping a book on the floor. 9 picked it up and remembered the book. It was the book that he and Twilight picked that up when the first time they met each other. 9 was about to call them but they were already far away. He decided to keep it at the permission of Aliana.

At the dismissal, Aliana made them stay for an announcement.

Aliana: I hope you all remembered the thing I said earlier. And as you all know, a student has passed the test in enrolling to our section.

Tails: I wonder who will it be.

Mordecai: Let's just hope not to get our hopes up.

Aliana: I think you may all found out.

The door opened revealing a figure with violet hair. None of them reacted since they knew already the figure is. But for 9, he gasped in surprise.

Twilight Sparkle?!

Elijah Oppenheimer?!
