Chapter 9

Everyone was shooting in all different directions, I felt bullets rush past my face, and a pull on my right arm then I was lying flat against the floor. I look to the side to see who pulled me to find it was Tamaki, he's shielding me from the bullets.

"What are you doing! What if you get shot!" I almost yell to Tamaki.

"The boss told me to keep an eye on you and make sure nothing happens to ya. I don't want you getting shot on my watch, you know how scary Tatsumi can get. Besides were friends right." Tamaki said lightheartedly.

I started looking round to find anything that we could use to take cover behind. My eyes snap back to Tamaki when I hear him yell in pain, he got shoot in the leg. I started to panic as he was shoot in the arm and back as well, he is losing a lot of blood.

I woke up in the a hospital room once again, 'I might as well just move in'. I looked around to see I'm connected to a heart monitor and have an IV in my arm. I inspected myself for injuries and was surprised to see I didn't have a single scratch on me.

I sat up and tried to remember what had happened. 'Ok so I went through the doors to the business area to find it like a war zone. Bullet holes in everything, people using upturned furniture to shield themselves and everyone firing destructively trying to hit someone. Then Tamaki and I met up with another team, discussing plans. Tamaki suggested a plan were two team sneak up on the guards while the others distracted them. The other teams agreed so we went ahead with the plan. What happened after that? I remember shooting and feeling panicked, then everything stopped. I cant remember anything else.'

Feeling the memory just out of reach I begin trying harder but I still can't remember anything. Getting frustrated I fall back down on the bed and close my eyes. As soon as I do I see blue flames, the same ones as before. I shoot up into a sitting position as memories start coming back to me.

'Tamaki's plan took a wrong turn and we were being shot at with little to no cover. He pulled me down to shield me.

"What are you doing! What if you get shot!"

"The boss told me to keep an eye on you and make sure nothing happens to ya. I don't want you getting shot on my watch, you know how scary Tatsumi can get. Besides were friends right."

Then he ended up getting shoot in the leg, arm and back. I start to panic as he was losing a lot of blood. I looked around frantically for anything that could help, I saw a small area behind a couch that we would be able to that cover behind. But the bullets just wouldn't stop. 'if I don't do something soon Tamaki is going to bleed to death'. I look over to Tamaki and he is starting to look pale and his eyes are starting to flutter "Tamaki you need to stay awake!" I stated to him firmly.

Tamaki look over at me and smiles, then he gets shoot again. I start panicking even more, then his eyes start to close. "Tamaki look at me! Keep your eyes open come on!"

I look over to the guards shooting at us and feel anger consuming me. Then I see the blue flames from before surrounding me, it feels warm but doesn't burn. I get up off the floor and look down at my hands when I feel something wet on them, there covered in red it's Tamaki's blood. My anger and panic consumes me again, the only though going through my mind is that I needed to save Tamaki, to protect him, like he did for me.

With that though going through my mind I could feel the flames extending in every direction, devouring everything in their path. I could feel everything the flames touched like they were an extension of me, I could feel the furniture burning away, the walls being eaten at, I could also feel the flames stop before they reached my team members.

The flames finally reaching the enemy, burning there weapons away to nothing and scorching there bodies, but not so much as to injure them gravely, just so they are no longer a threat. Once there are no threats left the flames start returning to me until they are just covering my body. I look around the room to see no one shooting so I look down to Tamaki, then everything went black. I could hear a loud thud then foot steeps before I completely black out.

"Tamaki is he still alive? Is he alright?" I whisper to myself. I sit up sliding my legs off the side of the bed, I turn off and disconnect the heart monitor, pull out the IV drip and get off the bed walking towards the door. Once through the door I look down the hall to see Tatsumi talking to a nurse so I start walking in his direction.

"Rin." Tatsumi states shocked to see me. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine. Where's Tamaki? Is he alright?"

"He's in room 4. He had to go into surgery to remove the bullets. The surgery was successful but he still lost a lot of blood so there is a chance that he wont wake up, but the doctors say that there's only a small chance of that happening and he should wake up and make a full recovery."

I just stare at him taking in the information, I look down at my hands as I remember they were covered in his blood, my hands are clean now but I can still feel the blood on them. He can die, he can die protecting me, someone he hardly know, someone he hasn't even know more then a month. My thoughts were interrupted as Tatsumi spoke to me once again.

I look up, "Sorry what was that? Oh and how long was I out for?"

"You have been out for 9 hours. I think you need to get a check up to make sure everything is ok. Then we need to discuss what happened."

"Ok, but can I see Tamaki first?"

Tatsumi nods in approval and motions for me to follow him. We reach room 4 and pause, I bring my hand to the door knob turning it slowly as I prepare myself. I open the door and step in the room, Tamaki it lying on a bed motionless with cords and tubes all over him, I can hear the steady beeping of the heart monitor. I close the door behind me with Tatsumi staying outside, I walk over to Tamaki, once by his side I look down at him 'he look so pale', I sit down in the seat beside his bed.

"Please don't die. You can't die protecting me! Too many lives have been lost because of me, I don't want you to be one of them too." I whisper to Tamaki hoping for a response but getting nothing. I sit there for a few more minutes before getting up and walking over to the door.
