Prologue

Everyone says that things happen for a reason. It may not be clear in the moment, but after a while it will all make sense. This, I can tell you, is a lie. Bad things happen to good people for no particular reason. Good things happen to bad people even if we don't want that to be the case. But for most of my life, nothing really seemed to happen. I was just floating by and doing what I was supposed to do, keeping to myself, and not letting anything get me off the track I was on.

And then, for the first time ever, something life-changing happened. In the beginning, I wasn't sure if it was a good or bad thing. Now, I can definitely say I am glad it did happen. You'll just have to read and see if you agree.

So this is my story. Many people will say I'm crazy or I just dreamed this up. But I know the truth. I know it really happened. And I hope you believe me too.

My name is Sydney Kay. During my freshman year of college, I was transported back to the time of King Arthur and Merlin.

And it was the adventure of my life.
