A/N-I DO NOT OWN THE NAKED BROTHERS BAND!
Hey guys!
Here's the REAL Chapter 21!
Nat's POV
"Nat, c'mon…wake up. Wake up."
I moaned and rolled over.
"Nat," Rosalina laughed. "C'mon get up. Your phone keeps going off."
I opened my eyes to see her kneeling over me.
"Good morning sunshine," She said smiling down at me.
"What's so good about it?" I said, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I sat up and she handed me my phone. I unlocked it and checked my messages.
One from Cooper:
Nat, call me when you get this.
One from David:
Hey Nat give me or one of the guys a call when you get this
And a couple from Jesse:
Nat, where are you?!
Okay, I'm freaking a bit more.
Nat, where are you? I'm freaking out!
Nat, when are you coming home?
Are you coming home soon?
And there were about three missed calls from the apartment.
"Aw man," I mumbled quickly replying to Jesse: Spent the night at Rosalina's, totally forgot to tell you. Sorry.
"What's wrong?" Rosalina asked, getting up from the bed.
"I forgot to tell Jesse I was spending the night here. She and the guys freaked out on me."
"Oh my God, Nat you should go home. Jesse and Alex are probably worried sick."
"No, no, it's fine. I'll just call Jesse and let her know everything's fine."
"Don't you have that appointment this morning?"
I groaned and fell back onto her bed, not even thinking about my side, which still hurt.
"Nat," She said, carefully kneeling over me. "I promise you, everything will be fine. Just go and get it over with."
"I don't want to go," I whined. I realize I sounded like a little kid, but it was true. I didn't want to go. Dr. Brennan seriously annoyed me. He was nosey and he pried where he didn't need to. It's bad enough I agreed to going to the hospital in the first place, and now I've got this doctor who wants to be involved in other parts of my life. That's definitely not okay with me.
"I would go with you, but I think is something you have to do by yourself."
I nodded. "I know."
"How about when you get done with the doctor's, we can take out Alex and go to the park or something? We can hang out, all three of us."
"Okay."
She leaned down and kissed me quickly. "Now c'mon, get up. I'll walk you back to the apartment."
Before she could get up, I wrapped my arm around her and pulled her back down into a kiss. At first she was surprised, but once she caught on, I tried to deepen the kiss but she pulled back. "Stop trying to distract me. We have to go."
We walked back to the apartment, and after I promised that I absolutely would go to the doctor's, Rosalina left. "What happened to you yesterday?" Alex asked.
"You know I said I was going to go check on Rosalina?" I said, as I walked into Alex's and my bedroom.
Alex followed me. "Yeah, so what happened?"
"I found her passed out in her dining room."
"Is she okay?" He asked worriedly.
"Yeah, she just fell asleep. I carried her to her bedroom and she was upset about her dad, so I stayed the night with her."
"What happened to her dad?"
"He went on a business trip and his plane was in a crash. She has no way of contacting him," I said, looking through my drawers for clean clothes.
"Oh my God…whoa."
"Exactly." I walked into the bathroom, but Alex remained in the bedroom. "I gotta take a shower, okay? I have to go to Dr. Brennan's in a little while."
"Okay, I'll see you in a little bit."
~NBB~
"Nat Wolff?"
I looked up.
"Dr. Brennan will see you now," the nurse informed me.
I stood up from the plastic waiting room chair and looked back at Alex and Jesse.
"We'll be right here, Nat," Jesse said, smiling up at me.
I nodded, not smiling back. What was there to smile about? I walked through the doors which led to a hallway. I already knew which office was Dr. Brennan's (unfortunately). I walked inside to see Dr. Brennan was sitting at his computer. When he looked up he smiled. "Hey Nat. How're you doing?"
"Pretty good, I guess."
"You keep saying that and it's beginning to worry me. Are you sure everything's okay?"
"Yeah," I said, nodding to convince him. "I feel a lot better than the last time I saw you, that's for sure."
"Well that's good; good to know. Why don't you hop up on the exam table for me?"
I walked over to the exam table and sat on top of it. Did you ever notice how in a doctor's office everything is…what's the word…cold and sterile? Okay, I mean I get that it has to be clean because the different rooms are re-used and everything, but it's creepy, you know?
"Okay," Dr. Brennan said, stepping over to the exam table. "I need you to lay back, alright?"
…
"Well, your bruises are healing well and so is your rib cage. However I would recommend refraining from anything too strenuous for a few weeks."
I slowly sat up. "Nothing new then, I guess."
"I'm assuming your sister is taking good care of you then."
"You mean Jesse?" I shook my head. "She's not our sister; she's just a close family friend."
"And how are you connected with Rosalina?"
I was slowly becoming annoyed with this guy. Why does he care? "She's my girlfriend." And the only reason why I put up with you and your stupid doctor stuff.
"So is everything going okay?"
"What do you mean?" I asked, as I slowly got off the exam table.
"How're you and Alex doing without your father?"
I clenched my hands into fists, trying to contain my anger. Remember what you promised Rosalina, I reminded myself. "We're fine."
"That's good to hear. I'm sure it must be difficult without him."
"Look Dr. Brennan, all I want to know is if my side is going to be okay and whether or not I have to come back."
Dr. Brennan looked almost shocked, but I didn't care. "Your side will be fine. You should make a full recovery as long as you're careful. And just to be safe I'd like to see you again in a few weeks."
"Okay…thank–" I sighed. "Thank you." I walked out of the office and rushed back into the waiting room. I told Jesse that I had to come back in a few weeks and she went up to the receptionist to schedule another appointment. I didn't wait for her however, and continued to make my way out of the hospital. Once I got out of there I leaned against the wall, and I thought I was alone, but Alex followed me out.
"What happened?"
"Nothing," I said, not looking at him. "I just hate it here."
"Yeah, I would too."
"Oh there you guys are," Jesse said as she walked out of the hospital and noticed us. "C'mon let's get home."
We got into the car and as soon as Jesse pulled away from the curb I noticed a text from Rosalina:
How'd you do?
I replied:
….Don't want to talk about.
I thought she'd stop texting me, but instead she replied:
I'll meet you at the apartment, okay? I need to talk to you. It's important.
I didn't reply but instead stared out the window wondering what Rosalina wanted to talk about. It sounded like something serious. But what could it be?
