A/N-I DO NOT OWN THE NAKED BROTHERS BAND!
Hey guys!
Hopefully everyone is enjoying the story! (:
Thank you to everyone who is still reading!
Rosalina's POV
I looked at Nat. It was his dad's. He'd never thrown it away.
"It's not mine," He said, looking at Cooper. "I don't drink, I told you."
"Who else would have it in there?" Thomas asked, closing the fridge.
Nat and I looked at each other. Do we tell them?
"Why don't you guys just believe him?" Alex spoke up. "He said he doesn't drink, so why are you guys questioning it?"
"Well why else would that be in there?" David asked.
"I don't have to explain that to you," Nat said finally.
"So that means you're hiding something. So you are drinking," Thomas said.
"No, I'm–" He stopped himself, putting his head in his hands. I could tell he was trying to keep calm.
I rubbed his back and looked at the guys. "I think you guys need to leave."
"But we want an answer," Thomas insisted.
"He said no," I said, becoming seriously annoyed with this now too. Why didn't they get it? Why would they think Nat would lie about this? "He wouldn't lie."
"Guys let's just go," Cooper said. "We'll see you guys at school."
They all walked out of the kitchen and out of the apartment.
"We need to get rid of this," Nat said, suddenly moving for the fridge. "All it does it cause trouble." He pulled out the case of beer, and kicked the refrigerator door shut. "Alex stay here. Rosalina come with me."
I followed Nat without a word out of the apartment, and when we got into the elevator he set the cardboard box on the floor.
"So now everyone thinks I'm a teenage alcoholic. Great."
"Maybe we can talk to Principal Schmoke about this. Maybe we can get him to do something."
"Yeah, like I want the principal to protect me," He said sarcastically, not looking at me.
"Well what do you want to do?" I asked, looking at him. "I'm trying to help you."
"I know," He said as he moved to kiss my cheek. "I'm sorry. I'm just frustrated."
"I know."
The elevator opened and Nat and I quickly walked towards the door that led to the back of the apartment building. We walked over to the dumpster and Nat threw the case of beer inside. "No alcohol is ever allowed in the apartment ever again."
"Never," I agreed, wrapping my arms around him.
He put his arm around me, and we walked back into the building. We were just about to walk over to the elevator when Nat said, "I'm going to go check the mail. I'll be right back."
I waited by the elevator while he went over to the front desk and asked for the mail. I watched as he received it, and he flipped through a few envelopes and even opened one. He stood there reading it for a few minutes and then folded it up and put it in his back pocket. He walked over to elevator and pressed the call button.
"Any good mail?" I asked.
"No, nothing important," He said shrugging.
I thought it was weird that he didn't tell me about what he read but I figured it was probably just something from school or whatever. If it was really important, I'm sure he would've told me.
We got back into the elevator and rode back up to the apartment in silence. We got into the apartment and Alex immediately blurted out, "Can Juanita come over tomorrow?"
Nat looked at me in amusement and then looked back at his brother. "Is this the girl you like-like?"
Even though Alex tried to hide it, Nat and I could see him blush. "Uh…yeah…"
"Wait, you like Juanita?"
"Who's Juanita?" I asked, looking at Nat.
"She's Alex best friend," He told me and then said to Alex, "Sure she can come over. Is she coming home with us right after school?"
"Yeah," Alex said shyly.
"Don't be nervous bro," Nat laughed. "She's just a girl. And everything will be fine. Me and Rosie will be there to help you out."
"Yeah, Alex, it's no big deal," I agreed. "Girls really aren't that hard to talk to."
"They're not?" He asked, looking at me.
"Yeah, I mean she's your best friend isn't she? And you're talking to me right now aren't you?"
"Well…yeah…but I mean, you're easier to talk to than other girls. You're Rosalina."
I laughed but said, "Just don't worry about it too much, Alex."
~NBB~
I've been catching Nat reading whatever it was he got in the mail, but every time I ask him what he's reading, he always hides it and insists it's nothing. At first I didn't really care, I thought it couldn't have been that important. But the fact that Nat keeps looking at it and hiding it is kind of beginning to worry me.
The next day as we were waiting for Alex to come out of school with his friend Juanita, I had Nat cornered so I figured now would be a good a time as ever.
"So what did you get in the mail that you keep reading?" I asked, looking at him.
"What are you talking about?" He asked, looking confused.
"Don't play stupid with me. You and I both know what I'm talking about."
"Rosalina, it's nothing," He said, taking my hand in his. "It's not important."
"Then why can't you just tell me?"
"It's nothing, it's just junk mail."
I gave him a look but accepted it.
"But hey, I have to go somewhere later today, so could you keep an eye on Alex?"
"Nat, you told Alex that you and I would be there for him when he brought Juanita over."
"I know, I know…but this is important."
"Where do you have to go anyway?"
"I promised Cooper that I would help him out with something."
"How long will it take?"
"A few hours tops, and then I'll be back in time for dinner and I'll come home and help you make dinner."
"Alright fine, but if you're not back by dinner I'm going to hunt you down and drag you back to the apartment."
"Ooh, she's threatening me," He joked with a goofy grin on his face.
"Yeah I am, and I mean it."
"Sure you do," He said, kissing my head.
Before I could respond, Alex walked up with a girl by his side. "Juanita, you already know Nat, and this is his girlfriend Rosalina."
"Hi," She said, smiling at us.
"Hi Juanita," I said smiling back at her.
"Hey Juanita," Nat responded, putting his arm around my waist.
We all walked back to the apartment and after Nat finished his homework he got up from the table, kissed my head and walked towards the door. "I'll see you guys later."
"Where are you going?" Alex asked, looking slightly panicked.
"I have to go help out Cooper with something, but I'll be back in a few hours, okay? Rosalina's staying here, don't worry."
Alex looked slightly relieved. "Okay…see you later."
Nat gave Alex and me a reassuring smile and walked out of the apartment.
"So guys," I said, getting up from the table. "How was school?"
"It was okay…" Alex shrugged.
"Did something happen?" I asked, looking at him.
"There are some rude kids in our class," Juanita spoke up. "I guess they somehow heard there were rumors going around about Nat and they teased Alex about it."
I was actually kind of surprised. "How long has this been going on?"
"A couple days or so," Alex said, not looking at me.
"Why didn't you say anything?"
Alex opened his mouth to respond, but the house phone ringing interrupted him.
"Hold that thought," I said picking up the phone. "Hello?"
"Rosalina? Is Nat there?"
"Cooper?" Why was he calling me if Nat was supposed to be with him? "Uh…no, Nat's not here. He said he was helping you out today."
"Well he might have said that, but I never asked him to help me…I barely even talked to him today. I haven't talked to him since the other day at the apartment."
I should've pieced that together. He hadn't been talking to the guys anyway! But I just assumed he made up with them somehow.
"Rosalina, I don't know if–"
"Cooper, I need to call you back." I quickly hung up the phone and dialed Nat's number.
"What's going on?" Alex asked.
"Nat's not with Cooper," I said to Alex as I heard Nat's voicemail through the phone. I sighed, hanging up. "And I don't know where he is."
Alex suddenly became panicked again. "What do you mean?"
The phone rang again and I picked up quickly. "Hello?"
"Hello, this is New York City Community Hospital. I'm calling about Nat Wolff. He's been in a car accident and has been brought into the hospital."
