Fat Cobra stands still, his arms raised in a fighting stance as he stares at his opponent. Dog Brother #1 breaks his stance and tilts his head curiously. "Any day now. I'm interested to see if your abilities match your bravado," he laughs. Fat Cobra turns to the wolf at the other end of the arena and then back at Dog Brother. "They say the Dog Brother can control his dogs just as easily as he controls his sword," Fat Cobra begins, "I'm more interested in seeing this for myself at the moment." Dog Brother nods, "Very well. I can give you a demonstration," then glances at the wolf who suddenly leaps to its feet and bares its teeth as it emits a low growl as if ready to pounce, which diverts Fat Cobra's attention. With his oppoennt's head turned, Dog Brother launches himself into the air with both feet and slams into Fat cobra's large belly with enough force to throw him on his back, sending ripples through his large body. The wolf calmly sits back down and stops growling. "The demonstration is over," Dog Brother tells him while finally cracking a smile, "And I must say, I'm impressed with your speed. I didn't expect you to fall down so quickly."
"I was distracted," Fat Cobra gets back up and dusts himself off, then stands with his arms crossed, "Now I want another demonstration... Your sword skills."
"I have no interest in killing you today."
Fat Cobra turns and addresses the audience, "Let it be known," he shouts, "I challenge Dog Brother #1 to use his sword in this contest. If I should die in this arena today, my death will be on my head alone," he turns back to Dog Brother, "The responsibility is no longer yours. Satisfied?"
"Have it your way," Dog Brother pulls his sword and readies it at his side.
Danny watches with interest as Dog Brother brings the sword back and dashes toward his opponent who remains standing with his arm folded across his chest and once Dog Brother is close enough, he leaps high into the air with an overhead swing. Fat Cobra does not budge even as the tip of the sword falls. Danny nearly shuts his eyes as he seemingly expects to see a gruesome aftermath. Armored boots land on the sandy ground and Dog Brother follows through with his sword strike with a whistling in the air. The blade now hangs across Fat Cobra who stands off to the side with his arms still folded. Dog Brother gives him a curious look, twirls his sword over his head and brings it down again. This time, Fat Cobra ends up standing on the opposite side of the sword without appearing to move; a whiff of dust is the only indication he moved at all. Frustrated, Dog Brother snarls and begins spinning his sword around with precision while Fat Cobra seemingly stands still just out of reach each time with a quick blur between each position. "He really is fast," Danny says to himself. Dog Brother continues to storm forward, swinging his sword back and forth with expert movements, but from Fat Cobra's perspective, his opponent moves in slow motion and he has ample time to step to the side to avoid each attack. Finally, Dog Brother pivots back on his heel and thrusts forward to skewer his opponent. There's a long trail of dust kicked up and Fat Cobra is standing several feet away.
"Impressed yet?," Fat Cobra asks.
"Almost," is the playful response.
His wolf gets up and races toward Fat Cobra while gnashing his teeth. It leaps into the air and Fat Cobra spins around in a whirl of motion, that sends it to the ground. With his back now turned, Dog Brother begins to strike, but Fat Cobra spins around and is back within arm's reach. The resulting upper palm-thrust sends Dog Brother into the air. From Fat Cobra's perspective, he hovers above him with his sword hanging past his fingertips while the entire arena stands motionless. They're frozen. He has all the time in the world to casually walk underneath his slowly descending oppoennt, take his time to patiently consider his next move, and stand directly in his path. As Dog Brother floats back to the ground, Fat Cobra cups his hands to his side, pulls back, waits for Dog Brother to fall in just the right spot and strike. The movement is too fast for most of the audience to see but they do witness Dog Brother bounce and roll along the ground until he comes to a rest and lays unconscious.
The monk raises his flag and Crane Mother announces, "Fat Cobra wins!" The audience cheers as two servants race out to the arena and help Dog Brother to his feet. Fat Cobra, meanwhile, raises his hands triumphantly, "It is as it should be. Where are my victory concubines?". Two of his women stroll out to greet him and he throws his arms around them, "Ah, there they are." Danny watches with amazement as the servants bring Dog Brother back to the basement.
"We're next," Bride of Nine Spiders tells him.
"Can't wait," he says sarcastically.
Orson, Colleen and Misty peer out from around the corner, spotting the arena where they can hear cheering. "That's the place?," Misty asks. Orson nods, "Yeah, but with most of the city already there, we'd be spotted in an instant. We need disguises." They quickly hurry down the street. Moments later, they come across a tent with garments and snatch them.
In the arena, one of Crane Mother's Daughters walks up to her and prostrates, waiting for Crane Mother to motion for her to rise. She does so, then whispers something in her ear, which both Lei Kung and Danny notice. She nods and sends the Daughter away before walking to the basement level where she signals to Danny and Bride of the Nine Spiders, "You two are next. Please take your places." The Bride goes first but Danny eyes her suspiciously as he walks out. As they enter the inner arena, Crane Mother turns back to Davos and motions for him. He quickly gets up and goes to her. As he passes the Green Mist, he stares intently at both of them; Crane Mother whispers into his ear and sends him off before returning to the arena.
"I hope you have been satisfied thus far," Crane Mother says to the audience, "Now I bring to you, the next battle," Bride of Nine Spiders and Danny stand on either side of Crane Mother, "The Bride of Nine Spiders and the Iron Fist!"
