Fifteen minutes after they left Hetty's office, Sam, Callen, Nell, Eric, Kensi and Deeks were sitting around Sam's living room trying to come up with a plan.

"I'll text him back and tell him to meet me at my apartment. Nell and Eric can set up surveillance, and you guys will be my backup." Kensi suggested.

"Are you sure you want to do this? He could be really dangerous, Kens." Callen cautioned.

"I don't really have a choice. I either take the risk and meet him, or let him keep stalking me until he gets what he wants. Whatever that is."

"Okay. Eric can you track his phone?"

"Not legally." Eric replied. Nell smacked him in the arm.

"Okay. Geez." He looked at Nell with a small smile. "My software in Ops is much better, but this will have to do." He took his laptop out of his bag and placed it on Sam's coffee table. He and Nell began tracking Jack Simon's cell phone.

"So you are telling me you have illegal GPS tracking software on your personal laptop?" Sam asked.

"With Hetty's permission, yes. For emergencies when I can't access the Ops Center."

"We got him. He's at the beach." Nell interrupted.

"Okay good. So he's not casing our apartment. Let's go over there and get set up." Deeks said.

And with that, they all packed up and left for Kensi and Deeks apartment to see how this was all going to play out.

Nell and Eric began setting up surveillance cameras in the living room. If Jack did try to pull something, and they did have to arrest him or worse they needed visual proof to verify that their actions were warranted.

Sam, Callen and Deeks found places to stay back where Jack couldn't see them, but they could easily provide backup if need be.

Fifteen minutes later they were all in position, they all had there Comms in and Jack was on his way to Kensi's apartment. Nell and Eric were stationed in the kitchen, tracking Jack's phone and monitoring the surveillance cameras. Sam and Callen were in their bedroom with their guns drawn, ready to act if Jack made a poor decision.

Only Kensi and Deeks were left in the living room. Kensi was pacing back and forth while Deeks watched her from the couch.

"He's almost here, Kens." Eric shouted from his station in the kitchen.

Deeks stood up and pulled Kensi into a tight hug. "It's going to be ok, sweetheart. I promise."

She sighed deeply. "I know Deeks."

He pulled back a little and kissed her forehead. "I'm going to stay in the kitchen with the Wonder Twins, so if he tries anything we'll have him surrounded." He turned and walked into the kitchen.

"Good idea. I love you Deeks."

He turned around one last time to face her. "I love you more, Princess."

And then the doorbell rang. She walked slowly towards the door and took a deep breath.

"Hello, Jack."

Jack stepped slowly into the apartment and started to look around.

"So how have you been, Kensi?"

"Very well. How have you been?"

"Great. My life has improved greatly since we last saw each other."

He was baiting her. The old Kensi would have practically begged him to come back to her, but what Jack Simon doesn't know is that Kensi Blye has improved greatly since he last saw her.

Kensi sat down on the couch and Jack sat on the chair across the room.

"You said you wanted to talk."

"I do." He stood up and walked over to the bookshelf and picked up a picture frame. In it was a picture of Kensi and Deeks playing with Monty on the beach. Nell took the picture a few weeks ago when she and Eric went on a double date picnic with Kensi and Deeks. Kensi smiled at the memory, but her heart began to race at the thought of what the picture could inspire Jack to do.

He turned around to face her. "Who's this?"

"That is my boyfriend and our dog." In the kitchen, Deeks smiled as she referred to Monty as their dog.

He slammed the picture down on the shelf in anger and took a step closer to her. "He's not as handsome as I am." He said with a cocky grin. She smiled back at him.

"No he's not. He's much more handsome and a much better man than you will ever be, Jack." He shook his head and got even closer to where she sat. He was now towering over her and he pulled out a gun and held it close to her side.

"Do you want to rephrase that, Kensi?"

Her eyes went wide. In the back of her mind she knew something like this could happen, but she didn't think the man she used to love and planned to marry would ever hurt her. But now, with a gun pushed into her body, all she could think about was the man she did love and how he was only feet away ready to save her.

Nell and Eric took notice of the gun as soon as he got it out. Merely seconds later Sam, Callen, and Deeks were in the living room guns drawn, telling Jack to put the gun down. Much to Deeks' chagrin, he complied instantly. Sam and Callen got him in handcuffs and Kensi fell into Deeks arms. Eric called Hetty to inform her that they were bringing him into the boatshed before they turn him over to the LAPD.

Once Jack was seated behind the interrogation table in the boatshed, Kensi finally felt like she could breathe. Nell and Eric were watching Sam and Callen interrogate him, and Deeks was trying to calm Kensi down.

"Did my ex-fiance really just try to kill me?" She said with a hint of humor in her voice.

"Yeah he did. He was expecting you to just run back to him. What he wasn't expecting was your more attractive and better than him boyfriend and the rest of your badass Federal Agent family."

She smiled finally. She knew that after Sam and Callen got done with him he would never come near her again. They sat around the table with Nell and Eric and watched Jack admit to committing a plethora of crimes dating back nine years. Jack Simon wouldn't be out of jail for a long time. Sam and Callen were about to turn Jack over to LAPD when Deeks walked into the interrogation room.

"Could you guys give me a minute please?" He knew they would just watch on the monitor like everyone else, but he really wanted to be alone with Jack for just a few minutes.

They shared a look and then left the room, each clapping Deeks on the back as they left. Deeks sat down on the other side of the table.

"So you-" Jack started to speak when Deeks cut him off.

"No. I talk you listen. Kensi Blye is the best person I have ever met. I cannot believe anyone is stupid enough to leave her after she's opened up her heart to them. You have to be a complete idiot. I am lucky enough to have her with me every moment of everyday and I wouldn't trade that for anything and I would never leave her. You hurt the person I love most in the world emotionally nine years ago, and you almost hurt her physically today. You are damn lucky I didn't put a bullet in your head, and if you ever go near her again you won't be so lucky."

And with that he stormed out of the room.

The rest of the team was watching the exchange on the monitor, Sam and Callen went back in as soon as Deeks left the room and led Jack to the car.

His words left tears in Kensi's eyes. In that moment, she realized there is nothing in the world Marty Deeks wouldn't do for her and she could never love anyone as much as she loved him.

Kensi immediately threw herself at him as he turned the corner. He caught her easily and pulled her as close to him as he possibly could. When he finally put her down, she gently pressed her lips to his, pouring all of her emotions into the kiss.

"Thank you Deeks." That was all she could say.

"Anytime. Got anymore crazy ex-fiances I need to protect you from?"

She lightly punched his shoulder. Nell and Eric moved closer to them.

"I'm glad you're ok, Kensi." Eric said as he pulled her into a hug. Nell did the same to Deeks.

"Thank you guys. I really appreciate your help. We couldn't have done it without you." Kensi said as she hugged Nell and Eric hugged Deeks.

"Hey, that's what families are for." Eric said as he put his arm around Nell's shoulders and led her out of the boatshed.

After they left, it was just Kensi and Deeks.

"You know I meant what I said right? I would never leave you."

"I know. I love you, Shaggy. More than I've ever loved anyone."

"I love you too, Fern." He pressed a kiss to her hair and they walked out of the boatshed hand in hand.

Kensi has spent nine years wondering where Jack Simon is. Know she knows he's in custody at LAPD and the only person she cares about is asleep right next to her.
