Crane Mother's Tower is not far from the arena. They all enter through the front gate and follow her down a series of winding stairs to an open area. Once there, she stands in the middle of the dark, stone room as the Immortal Weapons and Council stand on the opposite side. "What is this urgent news you have for us?," Lei Kung asks. "Outsiders have invaded the Heart of Heaven," she tells them and there is an immediate murmur amongst the group. Danny's eyes widen slightly but he remains quiet. Crane Mother glances at him briefly as she motions toward the double doors behnd her, "But have no concern, my Daughters and my champion have captured them." The doors open and a squad step out along with Davos. Danny watches intently as Misty and Colleen follow them out, both with chains around their wrists.
"Misty!," Danny shouts and dashes forward. One of the Daughters steps in his path but she is quickly kicked into the air and when she lands, she knocks over a few of her allies. Davos steps in front of the women with an evil smirk as if to openly challange him. Danny stops momentarily, glares at Davos, then charges forward once again and Davos does the same. Before the two men can reach one another, a pillar of green smoke drops between them and explodes into the Green Mist who raises both hands, "Stop this!," he shouts.
"Step aside," Danny warns him, "Whatever beef you have with me, we can settle it later."
"I am no longer your enemy," Green Mist assures him, "But this is madness. You must control yourtself."
"I'm sorry, Danny," Misty tells him.
Lei Kung rushes to Danny's side, "What's going on here? Do you know these women?"
"They were found sneaking into the Heart of Heaven after being refused at the gate," Crane Mother explains, "It seems they know Daniel Rand."
"Yeah, I know them," Danny admits, "They're here because of me. If anyone needs to be in chains, it's me. I surrender myself, just let them go."
"I'm afraid that's not possible," Crane Mother tells him, "We need you for the purpose of this tournament."
"Then I forfeit my place in the tournament. I'm guilty. Lock me up if it's that important to you people."
"I don't understand this," Hua speaks up, "Daniel Rand has hardly left our sight since the tournament started. He couldn't have led them here. Someone else must have shown them the way."
"They had an accomplice," Crane Mother explains.
A horrified look crosses Danny's face as he realizes someone is missing, "... Where's Orson?"
"I'm so sorry," Misty repeats, tears running down her face.
"Davos killed him," Colleen answers quietly.
Davos smiles silently and Danny charges once again, "You son of a bitch!," but Fat Cobra holds him back and Dog Brother #1 stands in front of him. Green Mist silently contemplates this news while Lei Kung turns to Davos, "You killed Orson Randall? How could you?" Davos simply shrugs, "It was easier than I expected."
Crane Mother moves toward the Council, "The man responsible for this crime has been executed. I leave the rest up to the Council to decide what to do with the women."
"I swear if you hurt them," Danny pushes past Fat Cobra and Dog Brother, "You will have much worse matters to deal with than a few border-crossers."
Lei Kung quickly speaks up, "What's done is done. Orson Randall has been executed and these women are no threat to us. I reccomend they stay in this tower until the end of the tournament, at which point, they will leave with Daniel Rand-K'ai." The Council nod and murmur amongst themselves as they decide.
Green Mist, meanwhile, approaches Davos, "Orson Randall was not the criminal you thought he was. He was innocent." Davos shrugs, "I had my orders," then a smile spreads across his face, "Are you jealous I achieved a goal you could not?" Green Mist glares at him silently as the Council agrees on a decision. Hua's father speaks up, "The Council has decided to allow these women to live. Daniel Rand saved my daughter's life, so I will return the favor."
"It's okay, Danny," Colleen tells him, "We accept this."
"Then I can accept it," Danny turns and bows to the Council, "Thank you."
"I promise, Daniel Rand," Crane Mother begins, "No harm will come to them."
"See to that."
Lei Kung leads him out, "May I speak with you?"
Several minutes later, Lei Kung and Danny stand on the balcony of his temple. Behind them, the sun begins to set and the moons begin to grow brighter in the sky. "Who were those women?," he asks.
"I met them shortly after coming back to Earth."
"They know about this place. Do they know about K'un Lun as well? Do they know about the Iron Fist?"
"I told them... I'm sorry."
He begins to get frustrated, "You know it's forbidden to speak of this to outsiders."
"I know. I had no choice at the time. You should know, I care for them very much. Misty especially."
"You're lovers?"
"Yes."
"You realize she's from another world."
"A world I was born into."
"You spent half of your life in K'un Lun, you learned our ways, you studied our arts, and now you are our champion."
"And I was an outsider. No matter what I was taught, no matter how powerful I was, I was still an outsider, just like Orson Randall. After my parents died, you were the closest thing I had to a father but when it came down to it, I didn't belong there anymore than I belong in the outside world."
"That's not true."
"Is it?," Danny looks out over the Heart of Heaven, "Do you know what the worst part of all this is? K'un Lun and the other Cities of Heaven are competing in this tournament so you can spend more time on Earth," he turns back to face Kei Lung, "... And yet you are all afraid of the outside world."
"We fear nothing!," he says angrily.
"Let's say I win the tournament. K'un Lun gets to return to Earth in ten years... What do you have to gain from that? What do they have to lose? This is all about vanity. Pride."
"It is about honor."
Danny shakes his head, "What honor is there in forcing someone to fight for something he doesn't believe in?" He turns and begins to leave as Lei Kung stays behind. He doesn't get far before Kei Lung calls after him, "Daniel Rand-K'ai!" Danny turns and faces him. "I have lost my only son," he tells him sadly, "... You are the only family I have left." Danny does not respond as he turns to leave.
