This is by far the most "Neric-ish" chapter yet. There is still Densi in here, and BELIEVE ME things get back to our regular Densi fluff in the next chapter. Thanks so much for all of the amazing reviews and all of the follows and favorites.

Shameless self-promotion: Check out my new fic Somehow, Someday if you like short drabbles! :)

He may hope that they were like Kensi and Deeks, but they weren't.

Eric and Nell were less obvious than they were.

To be Federal Agents that specialized in undercover work, Kensi and Deeks were never great at hiding their feelings for each other.

Nell and Eric were.

They didn't sneak looks at each other across the bullpen. They never made suggestive comments in front of the rest of the team.

Yeah, Nell and Eric were beating Kensi and Deeks at their own game.

After it had been several weeks, Nell insisted that Eric talk to Hetty about the change in their relationship status.

"Why do I have to do it?"

"I talk for you all the time. You take this one. I'll tell everyone else."

"But Hetty's scary." Eric whined.

"Man up. We're going to work, and you are going to march into Hetty's office and tell her you are in love with me, and then we are all going to move on with our lives."

"Yes Ma'am."

"Can I help you, Mr. Beale?"

"I, uh. I need to talk to you." He stuttered nervously.

"Please have a seat."

He sat and stared at his hands.

"I just wanted to make sure that you were ok with…um…"

"Eric. Spit it out please, I don't have all day."

"Yeah… Well Nell and I, we wanted to make sure that you were ok with us… kinda… being, you know… together." He released a shaky breath once he finally admitted it.

Hetty shook her head, mostly to make him nervous.

"Thank you for making me aware of the situation, Mr. Beale."

"You're Welcome, I guess?"

She nodded and dismissed him with a wave of her hand.

Nell didn't hear him slip into Ops. She didn't notice him until he was right beside her.

"I can't believe you made me do that."

"What did she say?"

"All she said was that she was glad I told her, then she waved her hand and I left." Eric reenacted his conversation with Hetty in the most dramatic way possible, talking loudly and flailing his hands.

Nell grabbed his arms and placed them by his sides.

"Relax please. So was she mad or what?"

"I.. I don't know." He started flailing again.

Nell just rolled her eyes.

"I'll be right back."

"Nell! Don't…" He called after her, but she was already out of Ops and halfway down the stairs.

She went to Hetty's office, but she wasn't there. She asked where she was and Kensi said she was in the burn room.

She walked in to find Hetty burning old files.

"Hetty?"

"Yes, Ms. Jones?"

"What did you say to Eric when he told you about us?"

Hetty laughed, confusing Nell.

"That boyfriend of yours, he's rather impressionable."

"You were playing him?"

"I suppose so. It was a harmless act meant only to further unnerve him. I hope he didn't take it to heart."

"He'll be alright. I'll talk to him. Sometimes he cares too much about what people think, especially the people like you that he admires."

"Well he may admire me, but from what I can see he's in love with you."

Nell was trying to hide the blush on her cheeks.

"He's not half bad himself."

Nell turned around and opened the door.

"Nell, do tell the rest of your team soon."

"We will, I promise."

Eric was waiting outside the burn room for her, and she nearly ran into him on her way out.

"What did she say?"

"Eric, you really need to calm down. She was just messing with you, she's fine with us."

He breathed a sigh of relief.

"Why was she messing with me?"

"She said you were impressionable."

"I am so not impressionable."

"Well if Hetty said it, it must be true."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because she also said that you were in love with me."

"Yeah, ok. Maybe that part is true. But I'm still not impressionable."

"Whatever you say, dear." She said patting his shoulder.

"Is that really all she said?"

"No, actually. She said we need to tell everyone else. Soon."

"Good luck with that, sweetheart." He walked away.

"No, no, no." She grabbed his arm and forcefully pulled him back to her.

"What? I took care of Hetty, and you said you would tell everyone else."

"You did not take care of Hetty. You made an attempt, but I had to fix it. That means you have to tell everyone else."

"Really, Nell?"

She nodded her head.

"Do you enjoy watching me squirm?"

"No, I don't. But you're a big boy, you can tell the rest of the team that were together. Please? For me?" She stared at him with her big hazel eyes and batted her eyelashes.

"Ughh. Fine."

"Thanks!" She kissed his cheek and started to get back to work.

"You're really lucky you're cute."

"And you say you aren't impressionable."

She ran into Kensi in the bathroom on her way back up to Ops.

"What was all that about?"

"What was what about?"

"You and Eric talking to Hetty this morning."

Nell was debating on whether or not to tell Kensi.

"Don't tell anyone else, but we were telling Hetty that we're kinda together now."

Kensi's eyes went wide and she pushed Nell out of the way and ran out of the bathroom.

"Deeks!" She was screaming at him from across the building. Once she finally caught up to him they collided and she nearly tackled him.

"What are you? What the hell is going on?" Deeks questioned.

"Kensi. Don't" Nell warned when she got there.

"NELL AND ERIC ARE TOGETHER." She shouted.

"Kensi!" Nell stomped her foot.

"What. No way." Deeks put Kensi down and turned to face Nell.

"Um. Yeah." She nodded awkwardly.

Eric ran out of Ops upon hearing the commotion. "Nell! I thought you weren't going to tell anyone." He said, running down the stairs.

"For future reference, don't tell Kensi anything you don't want the entire world to know." Nell said.

"I learned that lesson the hard way." Deeks said.

"Excuse me? I've kept plenty of your secrets, Mister." Kensi fired back.

"Oh Deeks has secrets?" Sam finally chimed in.

"No, no. Deeks has no secrets. No secrets at all. She's just… ya know… being funny." Deeks stammered.

"Kensi isn't funny and you know it. I'm officially making it my life's mission to find out all of your secrets." Callen said.

Kensi glared at him and he instantly regretted his comment about her lack of humor.

"Nope. There are no secrets. Let's get back to the issue at hand here."

"What issue? There is no issue. Nell and Eric are together now. Good to know. It's about time." Sam said.

"What? That's it. I get this whole intimidation tactic and all he gets is 'it's about time'. That's not fair." Deeks complained.

"Life's not fair." Sam simply stated.

"We trust him more than we trust you." Callen said.

"Anyway. You boys owe me money. I win." Kensi said.

"I almost forgot about that. She did win the bet." Deeks said.

"Wait a minute. You guys were betting on us?"

"Yeah we were. We started about a month ago, when we were at that bar the day Deeks became an agent. Deeks said it would be a week from that day, Kensi said a month, I said two months and Sam said six." Callen said.

"Wow, Sam. You were way off." Eric said.

"I guess I underestimated the time it would take for you to man up and ask her out."

"Hold on. Technically we have been together for three weeks. But we only told you today." Nell was once again analyzing the situation.

"She's right. Three weeks and two days. So technically Deeks should win." Eric said.

"No way. I still win." Kensi said. She was nothing if not competitive.

"Not a chance, Princess. You heard Romeo. Three weeks and two days. I win."

"Congratulations, you both win. We are all very happy for Nell and Eric, but we must get back to work and stop arguing over a stupid bet." Hetty said, effectively scaring everyone by seemingly coming out of nowhere.

So everyone got back to work, but they still didn't stop arguing for the rest of the day.

As Deeks and Kensi were walking out of the mission they spotted Nell and Eric ahead of them walking hand in hand.

"They're pretty cute, huh?" Deeks said.

"They do make one hell of a team."

"We do too, Kensalina. We do too."
