Danny sneaks through an alley until he sees Crane Mother's tower nearby. One of her Daughters patrols the area, so he quickly creeps up behind her and pulls her back into the alley where a muffled struggle can be heard before there's silence; Danny emerges and continues to the outer wall of the tower. An archer stands on top of the wall and doesn't notice Danny climbing behind him until he is a few feet away but by that time, it is too late and he is soon hurled off the other side. Two more Daughters are stationed inside the wall on the ground. Danny drops down, landing on both of them, then he sneaks along the inner courtyard until he sees a wolf standing on the far side.
"You can come out, Dog Brother," Danny calls out, "I know you can see me."
Dog Brother #1 emerges from the nearby shadows, "We thought you might come back here tonight."
"Who's we?"
The rest of the Immortal Weapons (minus Davos) step out of the shadows behind him and surround Danny who is not impressed.
"You people wouldn't understand."
"We understand, Daniel Rand," Green Mist informs him, "But -"
"...There are rules. Yeah, do you people ever get sick of saying that?"
"Your friends are safe," Bride of Nine Spiders tells him, "My children are watching them as we speak."
"They're safe, but for how long? Do any of you trust Crane Mother?"
"Not at all," Fat Cobra tells him, "But as long as we are in the Heart of Heaven, we have to abide by a certain code. Even Crane Mother knows this. She has nothing to gain from hurting your friends."
"Her champion does."
"Davos," Hua runs her hand along the scar on her chest.
"Right, he's not interested in playing by the rules. Trust me."
"We'll deal with him soon enough," Green Mist tells him.
"And to be fair, your friends trespassed where they did not belong," Hua adds.
"They didn't like the idea of me being forced to fight in this thing... I agree."
"I'm truly sorry for all you've gone through since coming here," Dog Brother #1 tells him, "But if you break into Crane Mother's tower tonight, it could cause more problems, not just for you, but for them as well."
"Are you prepared to stop me?"
"We are," Hua takes a fighting stance.
"I thought we weren't supposed to fight outside the tournament."
Fat Cobra zips behind him and wraps both arms around Danny, "Restraining someone is not the same as fighting them."
"Have it your way."
He bends his knees and springs into the air, taking Fat Cobra with him and twists, forcing him to tumble to the ground. Dog Brother leaps in for a tackle but Danny stoops down, grabs his ankles, and throws him over his back. Tiger's Beautiful Daughter snags him by the wrist and twists it, but Danny quickly reverses the hod and flips her onto the ground. Bride of Nine Spiders comes in from behind and tries to web him but Danny deflects her forearm, forcing her to release a string of webbing that glues Green Mist's foot to the ground as he runs toward him. The Bride leaps into the air and wraps both legs across his shoulder, bringing him to the ground in a rear-naked choke. Danny tries to release himself but soon finds Dog Brother's sword at the base of his neck and the other three Immortal Weapons standing over him. Danny relents.
A figure approaches the K'un Lun Temple, alerting the guards who thrust their spears forward once they notice. Davos shows his palms and smiles, "I may be branded a traitor to K'un Lun but I am still the king's son. I think he may want to speak to me." Minutes later, Lei Kung and his men eave the gates of the temple and he instantly notices Davos being held at bay by the guards. He smiles, never taking them seriously. "Leave us," Lei Kung tells them and they all disappear behind the gate.
"Hello, father."
"What are you doing here, Davos?"
"I knew you would be angry with me but I expected some sort of greeting."
"I will ask again, what are you doing here?"
"When I left K'un Lun, I was sure I'd never see you again. As you can imagine, being killed increased those chances. But now I'm back and I thought it would be appropriate to see you again."
"You abandoned K'un Lun, you tried to kill Daniel Rand-K'ai, and you took the life of Orson Randall. What could you possibly have to say to me?"
"I came to ask you a question."
"... Speak."
"Why Daniel Rand-K'ai?"
"You failed to achieve the Iron Fist, so it went to him."
"I meant... why did you even take him in? A pathetic outsider child who wondered into K'un Lun through no fault of your own and yet you took him in. It's always perplexed me."
A sad look crosses Lei Kung's face, "I did it for the sake of compassion. How can you not see that?"
"He had no place there. Wouldn't he have been better off with a quick and painless death?"
"How is it that you have missed something so obvious for this long? I don't understand you, Davos."
"I simply see no logic behind it. Even now, you side with him over me," Davos' temper begins to flare, "He killed me father, or had you forgotten?"
"When he told me what he did, he was filled with remorse. He had no choice."
"What about you, father? What did you feel?"
He becomes angry as well, "I mourned."
"And yet you still distance yourself from me."
"You distanced yourself."
"I had no choice."
"Perhaps that is my fault," he pauses and continues, "I've made mistakes in my long life. Many mistakes. I've realized a few of them recently. When raising both you and Daniel Rand-K'ai, I can't believe how I could have been so blind to the problems I was creating. For that,... I am truly sorry."
Davos' expression changes to sincere sadness and perhaps a bit of regret as he says, "Father, whatever I've become... It is not your fault," he leaves in silence.
The other Immortal Weapons sit around a fire in a forested area of the city. "So you guys wanna talk, let's talk," Danny tells them.
"Please be aware of the responsibility you have while you're here," Dog Brother tells him, "Sometimes duty means doing things you'd rather not do. I told you about the man who had my power before me."
"The one you killed?"
"Yes. I had to do it in order for the power to transfer. If I didn't, the power would be lost forever. It was the hardest thing I've ever done but it was my dutty."
"But I don't feel responsible for anything that goes on here. All I care about are my loved ones."
"I lost my mother before I was even born," Hua tells Danny, "I know the passion that drives your anger. Love can be a powerful ally but can also lead to recklessness."
"I can also speak of recklessness," the Green Mist tells him, "I spent decades chasing an innocent man. I should have used caution."
"Well, if nothng else, it's good to see you guys opening up," Danny tells them and then turns to Fat Cobra, "What about you, big guy? What's your story?"
"I've lived a long life," Fat Cobra tells him sadly, "So long that it seems I've forgotten most of it. I think that if I ever remembered... I would realize why I forgot in the first place."
"Bride?"
"My secrets are my own," she says with a playful smile.
"If I took Colleen and Misty out of that prison... they would never stop chasing us," he says aloud.
"The Heart of Heaven will disappear within the next day or a little more," Hua tells him, "Please be patient."
"When this tournament is over -"
"They'll be set free," Dog Brother continues.
"Hopefully, it will be that easy."
