"Wow, I'm stuffed." Will huffed out.

"Me too." It was silent between the two of them for a moment. The waiter came by and interrupted that silence.

"How was everything?"

"It was great. Thank you." Sonny replied.

"Great. I will get you the receipt." Then the waiter walked away. Sonny looked at Will who was ready to pass out, and laughed at him.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing." Sonny hid his laughter with a big smile on his face.

"Obviously something is. You dork."

"Oh, so now the name calling starts." Sonny smirked at him. Will just made a face at him. The waiter came by once again with the receipt and left it on the table. Will was about to grab it, but wasn't fast enough. Sonny took it in his hands and took out his wallet.

"Sonny, what are you doing?"

"Paying the bill, obviously."

"You don't need to do that Sonny. Come on, I'll pay." Sonny had the receipt out of Will's reach.

"Nope."

"Come on." Will kept trying, but Sonny wouldn't let him. He just smiled at how much he tried.

"I'll tell you what. You can pay the next time." Sonny gave in.

"Fine. And next time, I'm paying for those movie tickets. I can't believe you wouldn't let me pay." They got up from their chairs after Sonny finished paying the bill. They grabbed their coats and headed out. Sonny opened the door and let Will go out first before he followed right behind. Will stopped short to turn around. When he did, he turned right into Sonny.

"Sorry." Will whispered. For a moment, their eyes connected with each other's. Sonny gently brushed his arm against Will's arm when he almost fell.

"It's okay." Will pulled back and walked slowly to Sonny's car. Once again, there was silence.

"Sonny?" Will lifted his head to say something.

"Yeah?"

"Um, never mind."

"What?"

"It's nothing, never mind." Will set his head back down.

"Come on, tell me. I won't laugh, I promise."

"You promise, you're not going to?" Will looked up at Sonny.

"I promise. Come on, just tell me."

"Okay. Uh, I wanted to ask. Was this, um..." Will swallowed hard afraid to say the word.

"Was this what?"

"W..Was this a date?" Will was scared and nervous to say the word.

"It could be whatever you want it to be."

"I'm not really sure what this is." Will mentioned between him and Sonny.

"We're just hanging out right?" They were already in Sonny's car as the heat began enveloping them.

"Right. Of course."

"We're just friends hanging out. Nothing serious." Sonny replied. Will let out a soft sigh.

"Okay. I was just wondering." Will nodded silently.

"You can ask me anything Will."

"You sure? I don't want to scare you off." Will laughed.

"I'm sure. You won't scare me." Sonny stopped the car as they were by Will's apartment.

"Thanks. This was fun."

"You're welcome. Anytime."

"I'm paying next time though."

"Keep telling yourself that Will." Sonny replied with a laugh.

"You're mean." Will said with a smile

"Thanks. I'll see you later."

"Later." Will let out another long sigh. But this time, it didn't feel like it was enough. He thought he felt better when Sonny said that they were just friends and nothing serious. If he did, then why the hell does his heart hurt so damn much?

Sonny watched Will go into the apartment building and let his head fall back against the seat. He never wanted a relationship like the one he had a long time ago. He wasn't looking for anything serious. He just wanted a best friend. And he found that already, and he didn't want to ruin that friendship between them.

"Why does my heart hurt so damn much?" Sonny whispered to himself. He sighed heavily before he took one last glance at the building and drove off.
