"You are so out of it today." Sonny laughed at Will, who sat across from him.
"What?" Will fought to get back to reality.
"Wow, Will." Sonny couldn't stop laughing.
"What's so funny?" Will pretended to be angry.
"Nothing. I just asked you a question earlier and you completely ignored me."
"Sorry. I didn't get much sleep last night." Will shifted in his seat.
"Clearly. So, you want another cup of coffee? It could help you get out of that sleepy state you're in."
"I'm good thanks. One is my limit. After that, I'm a goner."
"Good to know." They talked like last night meant nothing. They both completely forgot about yesterday and the sleepless night that bothered them both.
"How about another movie night?" Sonny asked, and veered off from any uncomfortableness between them.
"I was actually thinking we could do something else. There is this festival in town. Maybe we could check it out."
"Sure. Sounds like fun."
"Cool. I will text you the time." Will said as he got up.
"I will be waiting for it. Oh, hey Will, where do you want to meet?"
"We could meet in the Square. I'm taking my car by the way. Don't worry, it's clean."
"You sure about that?" Sonny asked with laughter. Will gave him an almost evil look.
"Yes I'm sure."
"I'm kidding Will."
"I know." Will smiled.
"I guess I will see you later then." Sonny cleared his throat. It was getting a little bit awkward as silence kept filling in between.
"See ya."
Will tried to get Sonny out of his mind for the rest of the afternoon. He didn't want to feel this way for the rest of the evening. He felt like he made a fool of himself yesterday in front of him. He relaxed a bit when he took in a few deep breaths to calm down.
"Relax. We're just friends nothing more. As if Sonny would want to be my boyfriend. I'm probably not good enough for him. I'm stupid to think that he would want to be with me." Will spoke to himself. He tried to find something to do for the rest of the day before he texted Sonny.
Sonny sighed heavily after his day at work. He woke up at five that morning to open. At let he got off early, which was a good thing. Sonny thought back to last night. He felt like he made a fool of himself in front of Will yesterday.
"Could I have been more obvious? What is wrong with me? I know we're just friends. As if he would want to be with me anyway." Sonny echoed Will's words.
"I don't need this right now. I don't want my heart to be broken again. But a part of me needs some kind of connection. What has gotten into me?" Sonny wondered a loud. He got rid of his clothes to take a shower and find something to wear for later. He was about to get in when his phone rang.
~Be ready in an hour?~ Was the response from Will.
~Sure. Can't wait.~ Sonny quickly texted back with a big smile on his face.
~Me neither.~ They both had the same smile on their faces as they were texting each other.
~See you in a bit. I got to get ready.~
~See you in a bit, honey.~
~Honey, really?~ Was Sonny's quick response.
~Sorry. Autocorrect. I meant, see you in a bit Sonny.~ Will blushed furiously at his mistake.
~Sure you did.~ Sonny laughed at Will's mistake.
~I did. I swear.~
~I believe you.~
~Okay. I will let you go so you can get ready. I need to get ready myself.~
~Okay. Because I seriously think we wasted at least a half an hour texting.~
~Oh my god. I am sorry Sonny.~
~Don't worry about it. I like texting you.~
~I like texting you too. Okay, we really need to get ready.~ Will wanted to ended the conversation as quick as Sonny did.
~Okay. See you.~
~See you.~ Will laughed at himself at the long conversation going between him and Sonny. The texts were coming quick between each other. Neither of them were hesitant with their texts. They were going to see each other soon anyway. Will just hoped that it wasn't going to be the same as last night. He just wanted everything to be perfect.
Sonny couldn't stop the smile he had on the whole time. He couldn't get over their half hour long texting conversation. He was going to see him later anyway. He just hoped that it wasn't going to be the same as yesterday. He wanted everything to come out at the right time. But it was going to have to be slow. And slow can sometimes be torturous.
