Will hummed a silent tune in his head as he finished his last and final exam. He had a good feeling about it. He studied all last night and the whole week almost memorizing the textbook. It was a few minutes later, he realized he missed Sonny's company. He remembered Sonny telling him that he was working late tonight. He decided to catch up with him then. Before he made any plans to meet up with him, he decided to visit his mom and his siblings.
"Hey Will." Sami opened the door, her cheeks flushed and her eyes nearly bugging out of her head with anger.
"Hey mom. Is this a bad time?" Will stood outside of the Dimera mansion doors.
"Of course not. Why would it be? You're always welcome. Come in." She grabbed his arm and pulled him into the house before he thought of leaving and closed the door behind him.
"So, what's up?"
"Nothing much. I could come back another time mom." Will said as he saw EJ coming out from the family room.
"Everything is fine Will. Actually, you came at a great time. Johnny, Allie, and Sydney have been wondering when you are ever going to come and see them." His mom pushed him into the room.
"We will discuss this later." EJ whispered harshly to her with fire in his eyes.
"No need. There is nothing to discuss. I'm finished talking to you, until you come to your damn senses. Next time, don't expect me to forgive you after everything you've done. And I will leave with my children." She whispered back heatedly and with the same fire in her eyes. She walked away from him and walked into the room where Will is. EJ stood there fuming for a while and watched her leave. He turned around and left slamming the front doors.
"Are you sure you're okay mom?"
"What? I'm fine Will. You don't need to worry about me."
"Okay. Whatever you say. So where are Johnny, Allie, and Sydney?" Will sat down on the couch.
"You know what, I completely forgot to tell you."
"Tell me what?"
"They went on a school camping trip for a month."
"Awe. I was looking forward to seeing them."
"I know sweetie, they were too. So what's new? How's the love life?" She made a drink and sat next to Will.
"Ha. What love life?" Will laughed and stretched out, resting his head back.
"Oh come on. What about Sonny? I know how you look at him." She smiled giving him a wink.
"Seriously mom?" He lifted his head up to look at his mom.
"What? I'm just asking you a question. So?"
"Wow, way to start a conversation." Will shook his head.
"What? Why can't I ask you?"
"Because A, I know you are never going to stop. And B. If I had a love life, I wouldn't tell you anything."
"I'm just looking out for you. And I want you to be happy." She smiled and rested her hand on his back.
"I know. I got to go. I think I'm going to head to the gym and maybe get some cleaning done, then I'm going to see Sonny."
"Okay. I will see you later then." Will got up and his mom followed him to see him out.
"See you." He stood outside the door for a minute, then left. He made his way to the gym to get rid of any pent up frustration and calm down his nerves. Will couldn't get the conversation he had with his mom out of his head. He knows that she means well. But what does it really mean for his and Sonny's friendship?
Will finished the day off with a long hot shower. He picked up whatever he saw that was lying on the floor. After checking the clock at least twelve times, he saw that it was nearing the end of Sonny's shift and the closing of the club. He grabbed his keys and wallet from his desk and left.
The door was closed and the lights were dimmed. The last customer had just left and it was just Sonny behind the counter. Will just stared and slowly walked to the door to open it. The door wasn't locked yet, so he reached to open it and walked in.
"Sorry we're closed." Sonny replied with his back turned.
"That's too bad. Because I was looking forward to having coffee with the handsome owner." Will thought of something clever to say. He knew he couldn't take back what he just said. Sonny turned around and saw Will walking towards the counter. His smile reaching his eyes, making them sparkle.
"Handsome, huh?"
"Yeah. I couldn't think of anything else to say. So that just came out."
"No autocorrect?" Sonny laughed.
"Not this time."
"So, what's up?" Sonny turned to make them coffee.
"Not much. Just finished my last exam. I hope I aced it."
"I'm sure you did. You're smart."
"Thanks Sonny." Will smiled as he drank his coffee.
"You're welcome." Sonny turned around and walked out from behind the counter and sat next to Will. They stared at each other in silence. Will set his down as a blush slowly creeped up his face.
"What?" Sonny gave a small laugh.
"Nothing." He looked back up into Sonny's eyes and saw that they darkened a bit. Will swallowed a lump in his throat.
"Was it something I said? I'm sorry."
"No. It's nothing. I'm just..." Will's voice trailed off. He brought the cup to his lips once again, feeling the burn of the coffee in the back of his throat.
"Just what? You know you can tell me anything right?"
"I know. It's nothing." Will set his head down afraid to look in Sonny's eyes.
"You sure. It doesn't seem like nothing. Will, look at me. Will." When Will didn't look up, Sonny brought his hand to Will's chin between his fingers and lifted his head up to look at him.
"Are you sure, you're okay?" Sonny looked at him with concern in his eyes. It was this moment that Will was searching Sonny's eyes for safety and comfort, and he saw it all. He lifted his hand up and rested it on Sonny's wrist that had lifted his head to look at him.
"I'm more than okay Sonny." Will whispered.
"You sure this time?" Sonny replied with a small smile.
"I am. Sonny?" They were too close to each other to back away. This time, Will needed to break the tension. Being this close to Sonny was making him lose his mind and all senses.
"Hmm?"
"Kiss me." He said without stuttering. Will threw away all that tension to break that barrier between them. It wasn't a demand, it wasn't an order either, it was more of a declaration. They were already close enough to each other, they just needed some other contact rather than the soft touch of his hand on his face.
"You sure?" Sonny whispered. Will just nodded. He moved his hand from Sonny's wrist as Sonny pulled him closer with his hand. Sonny let that same barrier crumble as he brought Will closer to him. With just his thumb an forefinger on his chin, Sonny closed his eyes as he moved closer to kiss Will. It was a small kiss. But once he felt Sonny's lips on his, he brought his hand up behind Sonny's head and pushed him closer to deepen the kiss.
Somehow, Will felt himself standing up and gently pressed himself against Sonny. Will moaned silently as Sonny changed the angle. He slightly opened his mouth and felt Sonny's tongue silently asking permission and he granted it to him. Will moved his hand from Sonny's hair which absent-mildly made its way there. He moved his hand and slowly rested it against Sonny's chest. Sonny's hands were on Will's waist and put a little distance between them. They let go from the kiss, their breathing slightly uncontrolled.
"What was that?" Will whispered.
"That was a kiss that you asked me for." Sonny smiled.
"I did. And just to let you know, that was the best kiss of my life."
"Really?" Sonny's eyes sparkled.
"Really." Will smiled back.
"Good. Because I was thinking the same thing."
"Sonny?"
"Yeah?"
"Kiss me again." Sonny didn't have to be told twice. He moved closer to Will and kissed him again. Will shuffled closer and Sonny wrapped his arm around him. After what seemed like forever, Sonny let his lips linger on Will's before he kissed his eyes open.
"How was that?"
"I would have to keep that to myself."
"I should have known you would say that." Sonny laughed. He was about to get up but Will stopped him. Sonny saw the concern in Will's eyes before he voiced out his question. He took his hand in his and kissed the back of it.
"Let's go slow."
"I can do slow." Will said softly.
"Good." They both smiled once more at each other before Sonny spoke again.
"I need to finish closing and we could go for a small walk."
"Sounds good to me. I'll just wait outside."
"Okay." Will awaited for about five minutes and Sonny was standing right next to him. They both sighed inwardly and both felt a little nervous. It wasn't too long ago that they kissed, breaking all the nerves and the tension. But for some reason, it was quiet between them. When either of them looked up, they caught the other staring at them and just smiled.
"I'm sorry." Will said as they were in the park.
"For what?"
"I guess I'm just nervous. I haven't really had a connection with anyone before. And I don't know what to say after a kiss like that."
"It's okay Will. I'm nervous too. As for the connection, you're my second. I've never kissed anyone like that before either."
"You don't seem nervous."
"Neither do you." Sonny replied.
"Before you said I'm your second."
"Yeah. Uh, first one was complicated." Sonny didn't want to get into that right now. He wanted to give it some time before he got to tell Will anything. He didn't want to get his heart broken like the last time.
"Oh, okay. You sure you haven't been kissed the way you just kissed me?" Will changed the subject.
"Nope. I was saving that special kiss for someone special."
"So I'm someone special?"
"You are. In more ways than one." Sonny gave that huge smile which made his eyes sparkle.
"At least someone thinks I am." Will put his head down.
"Will look at me. You are special. To me you are. I don't like when you put yourself down." Will lifted his head to look into Sonny's eyes and smiled through the tears that were threatening to escape. Sonny moved close to him and hugged him.
"Thank you Sonny."
"No need for a thank you Will. I'm here for whatever you need." They let go from the hug. Will was about to thank him again, with the word on his lips, but Sonny stopped him with a kiss.
"Can I just..." Will was about to say something but his lips were covered by Sonny's again. Sonny let go waiting for Will to say something.
"Sonny, can I..." Once again, his lips were covered by Sonny's. Will's hands were at his sides. He threw them up in exasperation, but gave up and wrapped his arms around Sonny.
"I don't hear you complaining now." Sonny said as he let go.
"So this is how it's going to be?" Will laughed.
"Pretty much. So am I going to see you again tomorrow, around six?"
"You planning something for us tomorrow?"
"Maybe." Sonny teased him.
"I'm going to have to think about it." Will decided to go along with Sonny's teasing.
"Really?"
"Yes. I, unfortunately have a date with this guy who thinks too much of himself."
"Huh, no kidding. I do too." Sonny hid his smile.
"Really? Because the guy I'm going out with, can be bossy. Actually he owns this club, but the coffee isn't that great."
"Huh. Well, I guess I'm going to have to step up my game with this guy. I heard he is a great kisser."
"So are you." Their teasing ended with laughter.
"I'll see you tomorrow." Sonny said.
"See you." Sonny gave him a short lingering kiss before he left.
It was nearly a half an hour ago they had their first kiss. Now, it seems so natural to be around each other, like they're meant to be. They used to tease each other, but never like this. Will felt so certain that his relationship with Sonny is meant to be, meant to happen. He just didn't want to get his heart broken.
Sonny smiled and closed his eyes as he rested his head against his door. He let his mind take him to when he kissed Will. It was strong and electrifying, like it was meant to happen. In his heart, he felt like his relationship with Will was meant to happen and that they were meant to be. He just didn't want to get his heart broken. Not like last time. He wanted it to last for longer than just a while. They are just going to have to wait and let their relationship take it's course. This is just the start of it all.
