Chapter 48

De Oppresso Liber

1300 hours local time, 20 November 1970, Hangar 7A, Udorn Royal Thai AFB, Udon Thani, Thailand.

"Gather round boys" ordered Colonel Ewing, the Commander of the 6th Special Forces Group, as he rolled out a map "Ok gentlemen, here it is, Sơn Tây, a POW Camp 37 klicks west of Hanoi" he said. "Our objective is to infiltrate enemy territory, and rescue 61 American prisoners of war" he ordered.

"Amen" said Captain Wesley Clark.

"Why here? There tons of other camps, larger, and closer to the coast" asked Staff Sergeant Sonny Corinthos

"This is why" Colonel Ewing said as he passed along a photo. "Lieutenant Commander John Sidney McCain III" he said.

"CINCPAC's Son?" Sonny asked, to which Colonel Ewing nodded. "Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Command, Admiral John S. McCain II"

"Either way, there are 20 other POWs too" Colonel Ewing said. "We have 56 men, divided into 4, 14-man platoons. Captain Clark will take the 1st, 2nd Lieutenant Colleton will lead the 2nd, 1st Lieutenant Cragen the 3rd, and I'll take the 4th" Colonel Ewing ordered.

"Support sections?" Sonny asked.

"SEAL Teams 2 & 7"

"Chegwidden and Carsten right?" Wes asked.

"Right. Dust-off is 2200" Colonel Ewing finished.

Present Day- 1200 hours, 28 May 2002, Intensive Care Unit, Bethesda Naval Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland.

The small ICU waiting room was quiet as a tomb as Tony and his siblings sat patiently waiting for news. For Tony, Rick, Robin and Catherine, the oldest of Sonny's 8 children, this was rough. For Dante, Michael, Kristina and Morgan, who were 17, 13, 12 and 9 respectively, this was unbearable. However, for Tony, Robin and Catherine, all of whom were adopted (Tony and Catherine being biological half-siblings), this was new. Robin's biological parents had been KGB Spies, her father, killed by Sonny in the 80s, and her mother, killed by C.I.A Officer Frisco Jones on the orders Tony and Clayton Webb. Tony and Cat never got along with their biological father. Cat herself had bounced around from one foster family to another until she turned 18. Now, at 20, she had already graduated college and was in her 2nd year of law school. As Sonny had retired as a Captain in 1980, and had been reinstated as a Brigadier General when he was recalled to serve as White House Chief of Staff, he was taken to Bethesda, as opposed to Washington General.

Other than his children, Sonny's sister Courtney, and his ex-wife/ current girlfriend Olivia were also there, along with most of his grandkids: EJ, Liat, Molly, & Alexis. Sonny's bodyguards, Max & Milo, were outside the hospital, along with Jason, who ran the Port Charles crew. It was just after 12 noon when President McCain, his wife Cindy, Rex and Meg arrived. "Any news?" the President asked.

"The Sawbones is going over him now" Tony said as he stood up. As he did, the doctor exited Sonny's room. Mrs. McCain, who herself was a thoracic surgeon, walked over to speak with him. While she did, the President pulled Tony aside.

"You ok?" The President asked.

"I'll be fine Sir"

"Anthony, this maybe none of my business, but have you and Richard discussed what will happen should Michael take a turn for the worse?" he asked. For as long as anyone had known John McCain III, he had always used the full 1st name of anyone he was speaking to or about. He was the only one who called Sonny "Michael" and who called Tony and Three "Anthony".

"My father made sure that Meg had all the parameters needed in the event of his death" Tony said. "All Captains will vote, for either myself or Rick" Tony said.

"Do you have enough support?"

"Yes" Tony said. "As Underboss, and eldest son, I'm 1st in line. Rick would replace me as Underboss" Tony said. "What about you? You would need a new Chief of Staff"

"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it" President McCain said. "And hopefully, we won't" he added. "I see your children are here" he observed. "Wait, where is YOUR SON, Anthony?"

2252 hours local time, 28 May 2002, Darya Bulkh Valley Detention Camp, Afghanistan.

Three and Webb watched on as General Shah's men held one of the prisoner's heads under water. After a few more seconds, Webb threw his thumb over his shoulder. Kamran nodded and then gave a nod to his men. The men pulled the prisoner's head back, and out of the bucket of water. "Where is Kabir?" Kamran asked. "Tell me, tell me now" he ordered. The man replied only by spitting at the General. Kamran snarled and delivered a strong back hand to man's wet face.

"That's enough" Webb said as he stepped forward. "Where's Kabir?" he asked as he held out a surveillance photo. "We know he's planning something" he paused. "He's already killed thousands of innocent people" Webb said as he to a knee next to the man. "If you don't tell me what I need to know, I assure you, you'll join them" Webb threatened. The man remained silent. "He's useless, finished him" he ordered Three. Without a word, Three drew his M9 Beretta, cocked the hammer, stepped forward, and leveled the gun to the man's right temple, as Webb walked away.

"Wait!" the man pleaded. Webb stopped, and turned around. "Kabir has gone ot Russia.

"Why?" Webb asked, as Three continued to hold his sidearm to the man's head.

"He was going to meet a Russian, someone who fights for them. He's planning an action against US Military"

"Where in Russia did he go?" Webb asked

"Murmansk"

1430 hours, 28 May 2002, Intensive Care Unit, Bethesda Naval Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland.

"Any news Doc?" Tony asked as he and the President spoke to the doctor.

"Mr. Corinthos was awake for about a minute, before passing out again" the doctor, a Navy Commander, told them.

"Did my father say anything?" Tony asked.

"Yes" the doctor nodded. "He said "Sơn Tây"" The doctor said. "Does that mean anything to you?"

"Yes it does" The President said as chill went up his spine. "What else did he say?"

"He said "Tom" and then he grabbed at this" he said as he pulled a Star of David necklace from under his collar. "What he meant by all that, I have no idea" the doctor said.

0217 hours local time, 21 November 1970, Sơn Tây Prisoner of war camp, 23 miles west of Hanoi, Vietnam.

"Alpha 1, this is Alpha 2, all units in position" Sonny whispered into his radio.

"Copy that Alpha 2" Colonel Ewing replied. A few minutes later, a flight of A-1E Skyraiders flew over, firing rockets and cannon fire at the guard towers and guard barracks.

"Move!" Sonny yelled as he led his platoon towards a hole that had been blown in the wall. Following closely behind him was 2nd Lieutenant Thomas J. Colleton, the platoon's very green commander.

The 4 platoons, consisting of 56 men in total, quickly rushed the compound, overpowering any guards that remained. "The cells, the cells!" Colonel Ewing ordered. "Colleton, Corinthos, take the guard barracks" he ordered.

"Yes Sir" Sonny yelled. His face blacked out, and a green band tied around his head, Sonny and Colleton crashed into the guard barracks. "Hands Up!" Sonny yelled in Vietnamese. When the group of NVA soldiers remained silent, Sonny pulled the trigger, spraying death from his Car-15 Assault Rifle. He spent the entirety of his clip, before ejecting it and inserting a new one. "Clear" He yelled.

"What's that building over there?" asked 2nd Lieutenant Colleton, as he pointed to a concrete building at the far end of the compound.

"Let's find out" Sonny said as he rushed out, headed towards the building. Sonny kicked in the wooden door and rushed inside. The 1st floor was deserted, except for a set of stairs that led to a sub-basement.

"A CP?" Colleton said.

"Or maybe a bunker, or something" said Sergeant Bo Buchanan.

"On me" Sonny said as he walked towards the staircase. When he reached the top of the staircase, he saw that it was pitch black below. "Bo, hold this" Sonny said as he tossed him his Car-15. He then grabbed his flashlight from his web gear and his 45. from his side holster. "Stay here" he said cautiously as he cocked the hammer on his 45 and turned on the light.

"Holler if a ya need us, ya Tunnel Rat" Bo said as Sonny descended into the darkness.

Sonny gripped his pistol tightly as he descended down the staircase. When he reached the bottom, he found that unlike the floor above, the ground was dirt, and dust hung in the air. He slowly inched his way down the tunnel.

1500 hours, 28 May 2002, Intensive Care Unit, Bethesda Naval Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland.

Watching his best friend lie helplessly in a hospital bed was no easy task, even for the President of the United States. So, once the 1st Lady was out of sight, President McCain slipped out onto a terrace, and lit up a cigarette. He took a few puffs, when a blonde young lady came out to join him. "Mr. President" she said.

"Staff Sergeant DiNozzo" The President replied.

"You requested my presence, Mr. President" Liat said.

"Yes I did" The President said.

"What can I do for you, Mr. President?" Liat asked.

"How long have you lived in Israel?" he asked.

"My whole life, but on and off in the past few years" Liat said.

"And you are familiar with the history of Mossad Director, Eli David?"

"Unfortunately" Liat paused. "Yes Sir" she answered.

"November, 1970, where was he stationed?" The President asked.

"He was attached to the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok" Liat said. "Why do you ask?"

0230 hours local time, 21 November 1970, Sơn Tây Prisoner of war camp, 23 miles west of Hanoi, Vietnam.

With only the thin beam from his flashlight to guide him, Sonny slowly crept his way down the hall. "Bahhhh" a man jumped out of the darkness and tacked Sonny to the ground, knocking the gun from his hand. Sonny quickly balled up his fist and delivered several hard shots to the side of the man's head. Sonny threw the man off him, quickly picked up his pistol and fired 3 rounds into the man's back. He then picked up his flashlight and kept moving. At the end of the tunnel, then was a large wooden door, with light piercing from its seams. Tony slowly, and silently crept his way toweards the door. When he reached it, he kicked it in, and stepped inside. What he found was a man tied to a chair. Even with his un-cut hair and beard, Sonny could tell who he was.

"Commander McCain?" Sonny asked.

"Who are you?" the Lieutenant Commander replied.

"Staff Sergeant Corinthos, Special Forces" Sonny informed him. "Can you walk?" he asked as he cut the ropes with his knife.

"No" Commander McCain said.

"Ok then" Sonny said as he lifted the commander into a fireman's carry.

Outside, Captain Clark and Lieutenant Cragen were finishing loading the other POWs into the awaiting CH-53 Sea Stallions. "Where's Corinthos?!" asked Colonel Ewing

"Over there!" Wes yelled as he pointed. "Cover me!" he yelled as he sprinted towards his friend. "Sonny get down!" Wes yelled as he dove behind a small stone wall. Sonny quickly took cover next to him.

"I got the Lieutenant Commander!" Sonny yelled over the roar of the gun fire.

"We need to move. The Skyraiders are dropping napalm in 3 mikes" Wes yelled.

"Then move!" Sonny yelled. The group quickly sprinted back towards the Helicopters. When they were about 50 feet away, a machine gunner opened fire on them. "Go, go!" Sonny yelled. Sergeant Buchanan was the 1st, and he made it without incident. Wes went next, but was deterred by more MG fire.

"We're fuckin pinned!" Wes yelled.

"What do we do, Sir?" asked 2nd Lieutenant Colleton.

"Wave me off Wes!" Sonny yelled. Wes nodded and signaled for the Helos to take off.

"Now what?" asked Lieutenant Colleton.

"We make are way down the river, find a new extraction point" Sonny suggested.

"I'll take point, Colleton, you take the rear" Wes said.

"Yes Sir" both Sonny and Tom replied. Wes took off first. Sonny, with Lieutenant Commander McCain on his back, was next. Both men were safely behind the outer wall when 2nd Lieutenant Colleton took off running. When he was about half way, several bullets struck him in the back.

"Ahhhh!" Tom screamed as he tumbled to the ground. Several more rounds struck Tom in the back as he squirmed. Finally, a round struck the back of his head, killing him.

"We need to move" Wes said. "Come on" he said as he grabbed Sonny's shoulder.

By the time they were about a mile from the camp, the shooting had finally died down. When they were about 5 miles away from the camp, they finally stopped for a rest. "We need to keep moving" Sonny said as he set Lieutenant Commander McCain down against a tree.

"I know" Wes said as he pulled out a map from his breast pocket. "Ok, if we can find a boat, maybe a sampan with an outboard or something, we can make it down to the coast, Ha Long Bay" he said.

"It's mined" The Commander blurted out. "The Bay, it's heavily mined, has been since 62'" he added. "Not to mention, the harbor patrols" he said.

"What about up river, towards Laos?" Wes said.

"It's infested with NVA and what's left of the VC" Sonny said.

"But less than here" Wes said.

"It's less than 100 miles, and it would put us to Thailand" Wes said.

"What do you think Commander?" Sonny asked.

"Do it" he said. "I've spent 4 years in this god forsaken hell hole. I ain't going back" he said.

"Let's move" Wes said.

Present Day- 1535 hours

"The man who killed Lieutenant Colleton was white, not Asian. I had always thought he was Spetznaz, or KGB" The President said. "Sonny Corinthos, Wes Clark, and My wife" he listed. "There is no one I trust more"

"Eli David was the one Sonny saw pull the trigger" Liat guessed.

"Yeah" he replied.

"Fuck" Liat said.

"Yeah" he repeated. "Sergeant DiNozzo, I understand that your grandfather is in the hospital, but I"

"What do you need Mr. President?" Liat asked.

"I need you to meet with the Vice President" he said.

"He's at his residence" Liat said.

"Take me there" The President said. "Just you and me… and your father, I'll need him too"

"My father left, Mr. President, about an hour ago" Liat said.

1615 hours, 28 May 2002, Vice Presidential Residence, US Naval Observatory, Washington D.C.

"So what is it that was so important?" The Vice President asked as he took a seat on the couch across from The President, a coffee table separating them; Liat was waiting outside.

"Eli David" The President said ominously as he began explaining everything to him.

0856 hours local time, 29 May 2002, Russian Naval Base, Murmansk, Russia.

Its was a chilling morning, nothing unusual, as Kabir Atef stepped onto the ship. "I am not interested" the Russian Sailor said, in a thick accent. Kabir smiled and pulled a large Russian nesting doll from his bag.

"Open it Captain, you might like it" Kabir said. The Captain took the doll and opened the 1st layer, revealing the contents: a large roll of money. "I give you half now, half later" he said as he removed his glasses, revealing his trademark distinction: One Brown eye, one blue. And with that, he left.

9 hours later- 1800 hours-

It was dark, and the moon shown brightly as Russian Spetznaz Colonel Alexei Volcanoff, stepped onto the dock and lit a cigarette, as he heard 2 sets of footsteps approaching. "I was just about to get on the phone and call my good friend Tony, when my secretary tells me that he's on the other line, and he tells me that I'm going to have some visitors" Alexei smiled as Clay and Three walked up to him.

"Hope you don't mind Tony putting us back in touch" Clay said as the 2 men shook hands.

"And who is this?" he asked pointing to Three.

"Staff Sergeant Anthony D. DiNozzo III" Three replied.

"AH! Tony's son, welcome to Russia" he smiled. "Where everything is cheap, because everything sucks" he said as he blew out a puff of smoke.

"What about the Ferrari parked over there?" Clay joked.

"Courtesy of Mr. Ewing and his very deep pockets" Alexei smiled.

"So how are ya Alex?" Clay asked.

"Cold" he replied. "Spring only comes to this part of Russia in August… and lasts for 10 minutes" he joke.

"Let's walk" Clay said. "Thanks for the heads up"

"It's not everyday that Russian Naval Officers are approached by Arabs, being recruited for god knows what evil"

"Well we maybe starting to fill in some of the blanks. As we speak, Tony is tracking down a large amount of money"

"What can you tell me?"

"So far we know that a large sum of money was transferred from Pakistan to Iran, and then another from Iran to Spain"

"How much?"

"250 million to Iran, 25 million to Spain, and another large amount to Russia through the Hawala money network"

"That's a lot" Alexei whistled.

"We think Kabir is planning an attack on the US Military"

"Well, why don't you ask Captain Yurastov yourself, his ship is over there" Alexei pointed.

"Mikhail Yurastov? The submarine Captain?" Three asked.

"The very same" Alexei replied. "He was the last person kabir spoke with, we think" he said.

When they reached the Captain's ship, and his Stateroom, Three banged on the door forcefully. "Kick it in" Clay ordered. Three kicked it in and found it empty. "Son of a bitch"

"What the hell is a Russian naval officer, a decorated veteran of the Cold War, getting mixed up with Al Qaeda?" Alexei asked.

"I have no idea" Clay said. "All I know is that there's a credible threat against the US Military, and Kabir Atef is behind it.

0900 hours local time, 30 May 2002, La Banque Suisse de L'Insudtrie, Bilbao, Spain.

Tony was dressed smartly in a dark blue 3-piece suit as he entered the bank manager's office, his clear reading glasses reflecting off the morning sun. He was frisked immediately upon entering the office. The guard pulled a P99 from Tony holster and tossed it on the manager's desk. "So good of you to come see me, Mr. DiNozzo" the banker smiled as he turned from looking out the window. "Particularly on such short notice" he smiled.

"If you can't trust a Swiss Banker, what's the world come to" Tony smiled as the guard patted down his ankles.

"And now that we're all comfortable, why don't you sit down" the banker offered as he motioned to a chair in front of his desk. Tony smiled, nodded and took a seat, resting his foot on his knee. The banker's assistant stepped forward and offered him a cigar, which Tony took. "It was not easy, but I have retrieved the money" he said as another guard placed a large, silver briefcase on the desk, and opened it. It was filled to the brim with cash. "No doubt, Director David will be pleased to see it again" he said as Tony twisted the silver cigar tube between his fingers. "At the current rate of exchange, minus the fees and certain unforeseeable expenses" he added. "Your receipt" he said as the same girl who offered him the cigar, handed him a piece of paper.

"Would you like to check my figures?" she asked.

"No, I'm sure they're perfectly rounded" he said as he gave her a wink.

"It's all there" the banker assured him.

"I didn't come for the money" Tony said as he took off his glasses. "I came for information"

"I am merely a middleman. I'm trying to do the honorable thing, making sure the money gets to its rightful owner"

"And we know how difficult that was" Tony said sarcastically.

"I'm giving you the opportunity to walk out with the money, Mr. DiNozzo'

"And I'm giving you the opportunity to walk out with your life" Tony retorted.

"Looking at our present situation" the man paused as 2 of his guards hovered over Tony. "Speaking strictly as a banker, the numbers are not in your favor" the banker said.

"Perhaps you failed to take into account, my" he paused. "Hidden assets" he smiled as he pressed a small button on the frame of his glasses. The gun of the desk exploded into a flash bang, disorienting the guards. Tony quickly grabbed one by the collar and slammed his head down against the desk. When the other guard grabbed his gun, Tony grabbed the man's arm, twisted it behind him, and kneed the man in the face. He then picked up the gun, and shot and killed both men. "Get up!" he yelled as he grabbed the banker by the collar and shoved the barrel of the gun in his face. "You've had a small reversal in fortune"

"You're not Mossad" the man realized.

"Brilliant deduction, Sherlock": Tony said. "Now tell me, what did Eli David sell to Kabir Atef?" Tony yelled. "I know that's Kabir's money, what did he buy?" Tony demanded.

"I can't tell you"

"Let's count to 3" Tony said. "1…2" he said as he cocked the hammer.

"All right, I'll tell you, but you must protect me from" was all he said before he went limp in Tony's arms, a knife in the back of his neck.

"The Girl" Tony realized. He rushed for the door after her but she was gone. When Tony heard police sirens approaching in the distance, he knew his time was limited. He quickly slammed the door shut and locked the deadbolt. Thinking quick, he ripped one of the cords off the window blinds and tied one end around the waist of one of the dead men. He then tied the other end around one of his belt loops. Using the briefcase, he smashed open a window and jumped out. The dead body slammed up against the frame of the window as Tony reached the ground a few stories below. "Lovely day for a stroll" he said as he ripped the cord from his waist, and walked away.

0945 hours local time, 30 May 2002, Mossad Safehouse, Bilbao, Spain.

When Mossad Agent Monique Lisson entered the Safehouse, she knew she was home free. Not only that, but she had a named for the "Movie Buff", a man which had eluded Mossad for years. She walked up stairs, and into the master bedroom, when she stopped dead in her tracks. Sitting on the bed was a large silver briefcase, the same one from only a half and hour before. "Hello Monique" said a voice. She turned and saw the man, "DiNozzo", the banker had called him, sitting the couch, a Beretta Inox in hand.

"What do you want?" she asked.

"Information" Tony said as he stood up. "Since you killer our friend the banker before he could give me the information I need, you going to fill the void" Tony said.

"Why would I do that?"

"Because I'll let you live"

"How do I know you won't kill me anyway?"

"Well, you can rest assured. If you don't tell me, I will"

"I don't know what Eli David sold to Kabir. But I know who he sent to make the delivery"

"Who?" Tony asked as he cocked the hammer on his Inox.

"Joshua Hadar" she said.

"Thank you" Tony said as he fired 2 rounds into her stomach, knocking her to the floor.

"You said you wouldn't kill me" she said as blood pooled in her mouth. Tony stood up, grabbed the briefcase and stood over her.

"I lied" he said as he fired a 3rd round, this one in her head, killing her. Inox and case in hand, Tony quickly made his way outside, as AJ aka Captain Marcus Sharon, was pulling up in a BMW 5-series. "Dispose of the body" Tony ordered as AJ tossed him the keys.

"Yes Sir" AJ replied.

1600 hours local time, 30 May 2002, Along the Iranian/Afghan border.

"So you really are toy maker" Captain Yurastov observed as the small convoy made it's way towards Iran.

"I have many interests" Kabir replied.

"You say you are soldier, like me. Real soldiers do not have time for many interests" Yurastov said. Kabir only laughed.

"Ah Captain, I find that when at war against a great power, patience is a weapon" Kabir said as the trucks stopped. "We part company here. I must go for a while, the Americans have eyes everywhere, and I have affairs to attend to" he said. "You sit on the border between 2 lands: Iran and Afghanistan. 2 lands that should be 1, under Allah" he complained. "You will continue to Iran. Soon you will have many new toys at your disposal" Kabir smiled as he grabbed his rifle, jumped from the truck, and took off running.

0700 hours, 30 May 2002, Tactical Operations Center, Unit Compound, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

"What do ya got?" Colonel Colleton asked Bridget.

"Latest intel from our friends at MacDill" she said. "Kabir Atef is back in Afghanistan" she said. "An RQ-1 Predator that was patrolling the border took these images" she said as she did some typing and a large image appeared on the big screen. Bridget did some more typing and enhanced the image. "One brown eye, one blue" she said.

"What the fuck is he doing back in Afghanistan?" Tom asked.

"Rally the troops?" Bridget suggested.

"Who's left?" Tom said. "Get Movie Buff on the horn. He needs to go hunting"

0930 hours local time, 21 November 1970, Mekong River, Laos.

"Well folks, I hope y'all have your passports, cause if my calculations are correct, we just entered Laos" Wes said from the front of the boat.

"So what are you gonna do when we get outta here, Commander?" Sonny asked.

"I don't know, probably ask for a transfer stateside or something" he replied.

"What about you guys? How long have you been in country?" he asked.

"6 Years" Sonny said.

"4" Wes replied.

"Where y'all from anyway?"

"Long Island" Sonny said.

"Arkansas" Wes said.

"You here that?" Sonny said. "It's a chopper" he said.

"NVA?" Wes asked.

"It's a Huey" Sonny smiled.

"Yeehaw!" Wes said.

0730 hours, 30 May 2002, Intensive Care Unit, Bethesda Naval Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland.

"Mr. President" Sonny said weakly when President McCain entered the room. Perhaps by sheer repetition and muscle reflex, Sonny's back stiffened, and his arm, which was restrained to keep him from pulling out any IVs or tubes, moved as if to salute.

"Ya know what I was thinking about? The day you, me and Wes all met, back in Nam" he said.

"I had to carry your fat ass for 10 miles" Sonny joked, his voice still very weak.

"It was amazing, how after that, we've still remained friends all these years. Not only that, but our kids became friends too, neighbors even"

"Ruined the neighborhood"

"You're my guy, Sonny. You can delegate, work part time, bring the morphine with ya for all I care" The President smiled.

"Do you remember what you told me when you offered me the job?" Sonny asked.

"I need you to jump off a cliff" The President recalled.

"And I did" Sonny replied. "And I'd do it again, but you need a new Chief of Staff" he urged.

"When I took office, I said I'd put the country 1st, spend our time building and protecting something that would outlast us. I just thought we'd have a longer line of credit" The President said. "I'm gonna need that list of names" he said, referring to whom Sonny thought would be qualified to replace him.

"Only one name" Sonny said.

Meanwhile, in the waiting room, Rick was starting at the coffee table, which was covered in baskets filled with cookies and other baked goods. "You planted these baskets" he said to Meg.

"I promised Mrs. Corinthos, no more surprises" Meg replied.

"It's like a torture chamber designed by renegade Keebler elves" he joked as the President appeared in the doorway.

"I've come to realize that I haven't thanked all of you for your service since I took office last September. You've all done one hell of a job. It's been a crazy couple of days, and there will be more to come. So, go spend sometime with my outgoing Chief of Staff, cause then we got work to do" he said. After a few seconds of Awkward silence everyone made their way out of the room. "Meg!" he yelled.

"Yes Mr. President?" Meg asked.

"There's something I need you to do for me" President McCain said.

"What is it?" she asked.

"I need you to jump off a cliff"
