ok heres the 4th chapter...now I just realised in my previous chapters I wrote the name 'Thorin' I meant to write Thaniel! sorry for the confusion! Enjoy :-)
Arya finally found him. He was lying in a bath, his head resting on the back, his wavy red and white hair damp. His eyes were closed, he looked so peaceful, Arya wondered if he was asleep. She considered jumping out and scaring him, the thought gave her a wicked grin. Or she could sneak up on him like he so often did to her and whisper something into his ear. She smirked, she took a step forward but suddenly stiffened by the soft voice that floated into the steamy air.
"Why does a girl stand watching a man so?" He asked, his eyes still closed but a smirk playing on his lips, Arya scowled.
"How'd you know I was there?"
He slowly opened his eyes and turned them lazily towards her.
"A man hears a girl"
"I was silent, I didn't make a sound" she protested.
"If a girl didn't make a sound how did a man know a girl was there?"
She growled at that.
"Why weren't you at dinner?" she demanded.
"A man was having a bath" he said nodding down to the water he sat in.
"You should have gone" she said angrily. She was angry that he had left her, left her alone with those green eyes.
"Why should a man have gone?" he asked her curiously.
"Thaniel" she said slowly testing the name in her mouth. She found it tasted bitter. Jaqen's interest was clear to see and he looked at her expectantly. "He beckoned me over and made me sit in your seat. He told me if I forgot my past one day I could sit there permanently. Well not in your seat but in that part of the table" She finished. Jaqen studied her closely before pulling himself up so he was sitting upright. She felt her eyes draw down to his tanned, glistening chest. It was well muscled and looked strong. Colour rose to her cheeks and she quickly looked back up to his face. He smirked and she knew he had saw.
"Thaniel speaks the truth" he finally said. She glared daggers at him. She had come to him in need of a friend not someone who was going to gang up with Thaniel.
"I don't want to sit up with you and your selected brothers" she spat.
"Then don't"
"what?!"
"You don't want to, you don't have to." He yawned and stretched, her eyes pulled down toward his muscles again.
"Does a girl like what she sees?" he asked looking up innocently at her. She felt heat rush to her face as she quickly looked away.
"I-no-I just-I-I- I wasn't-you …. what do you mean I don't have to sit up with the selected brothers?" she stumbled out.
"It's a girls choice" he said matter of factly and stretched again. This time she did not look away from his blue eyes. He grinned lazily. She huffed and turned around to walk away.
"Stay girl a moment longer, a man has a question" She paused and turned around slowly.
"What?"
"A girl can choose whether or not to sit with the selected few… but let a man ask, if a girl didn't have names upon her tongue would she still decline a seat?" Arya frowned considering.
"Thaniel frightens me" she finally said in a small voice slightly ashamed. Jaqen did not laugh.
"He frightens a man as well" Arya looked curiously at him.
"You? But your so…close" she said
"Close in work yes, but not in life. Although a man's work is his life…" he said as an afterthought.
"But still a girl has not answered"
"I don't know" she said truthfully. He nodded and she took her leave. Jaqen remained in the bath a few minutes longer thinking over all the girl had said to him. He should have suspected Thaniel would scare the girl half to death the one night he wasn't around. He'd been gone for months though…still he should have gone to dinner that night. When he had said Thaniel scared him he meant it. Thaniel had never used to scare him though. Never used to until Arya Stark arrived. After that Thaniel scared him very much. He was frightened not for himself but for his lovely girl.
