Alright chapter 20 is ready. I can already tell that this story will require far more chapters than I originally thought. You will see Diantha battle more than one trainer in this chapter and you will see some very special evolutions :). Also keep in mind that this is a FAN FICTION so somethings that do not exist in the anime and games may exist here. So as always enjoy.

Chapter 20: Battle of the battle Château
Ash and the others were speechless when they saw the grand Duchess was Diantha ,the champion of Kalos.
"Wait a minute is that your former student?" Serena said. Sycamore smiled as he turned to her.
"Yes, in fact Diantha was one of my first students many years ago".
"I can't believe we get to see her in a battle!" Shauna said.
"This will be awesome!" Red said.
"I'm pumped, what about you Benedict?" Ash said. Benedict didn't say anything. Ash turned to Benedict and saw he had a very concerned look on his face as he stared down at Diantha.
"Is everything all right Benedict?" Ash said.
"I need to go" Benedict said.
"What? But you'll miss the battle".
"I'm sorry, but its pretty important" Benedict got out of his seat and left the private box.
"Where is he going?" Clemont asked.
"Who knows?" Ash said. Benedict walked out of the box and into the hallway where his brother was waiting for him.
"Having fun with your new friends Benedict".
"Look I know we we're here, to protect the jewel, but if this place is attacked I didn't want them to get hurt. Besides that's not what I needed to tell you".
"I know she's here. What are we going to do?" Winston said.
"Maybe we don't have to do anything? I mean she's not one of us anymore. Do you think team Flare would suspect we're standing guard here just because she's here?" Benedict said.
"We can't take that chance. Protecting the Tear is too important. Diantha has to leave".
"Do you think she's going to listen to us?" Benedict said.
"Maybe if she was defeated in front of an entire audience of people, she'd listen".
"Do you really think either of us could beat her in a battle?".
"No, but I can think of someone who could" Winston said smiling.
Meanwhile back in the theater Ash and the others were watching closely as the match began.
"You may be the Kalos champion Diantha , but don't think we're afraid of you" General Thibault said as he sent out a massive Garchomp.
"Sweet he has a garchomp" Ash said.
"Surprised you're so excited about it little bro, after your last little experience with Garchomp".
"No kidding" Serena said remembering how scared she was when she saw him jump off the tower.
"Well general I'm glad you're not afraid. I choose you Gardevoir" Diantha said as she sent out a tall and mystical looking pokemon. The pokemon stood up like a human, had a white body, with green arms, a white face with a green top of her head.
"Woah it's so pretty. But what is it?" Serena said as she opened her pokedex.
"Gardevoir the embrace Pokémon. To protect its trainer, it will expand its psychic power to create a small black hole". As Ash looked closer he noticed that the Gardevoir had a small necklace around her neck. Inside the necklace was a small colored stone. He looked back over at Diantha and saw she wearing a similar necklace with a similar stone in the center.
"Where have I seen that stone before?" Ash said as he tried to think.
"Garchomp use Dragon rage". the Garchomp roared as he opened his mouth and blasted a large burst of Dragon energy at Gardevoir. Diantha said nothing she simply looked at her Gardevoir and nodded. Gardevoir moved out-of-the-way as quick as a flash without her trainer even instructing her to.
"Woah did you see that!?" Clemont said.
"She didn't even tell her Gardevoir to dodge it!" Serena said very excited.
"Impressive, but we can win. Garchomp use Sandstorm to mask your approach than use Dragon rush". Garchomp snarled as he whipped up a thick sandy wind that obscured everyone's vision. Once Garchomp was positive Gardevoir couldn't see him he sprinted forward, gathering up his Dragon energy as he began to glow Violet.
Diantha took a deep breath and looked at the Pokémon. As Ash and the others looked closely, they noticed that her eyes flashed blue for a moment.
"Red did she just?" Ash started.
"She did" Red said. Moments later Gardevoir's eyes also glowed blue ,as she searched the battlefield for Garchomp's aura. As soon as she found him, she waited until he got close. Diantha nodded again and Gardevoir used teleport. Garchomp came out of the others and of the sandstorm looking completely confused. His trainer was just as confused, he didn't hear Diantha call out a move so, he had no idea where Gardevoir went.
Diantha nodded again as Gardevoir reappeared behind Garchomp. Her eyes glowed red as she hit Garchomp with psychic forcing him to the ground.
"Garchomp!" Thibault said.
"She's so powerful!" Shauna said.
"No don't give up Garchomp. Use fire blast" . Diantha simply nodded again as Garchomp fought through the pain and forced himself up. Once he was on his feet Garchomp opened his mouth , and unleashed a massive symbol shaped burst of fire towards Gardevoir.
Gardevoir's eyes glowed white as she waved her hands in front of her ,and conjured up a large ball of white light. when she had enough Gardevoir unleashed the Moon blast at Garchomp. The Moon blast tore through the Fire blast, causing the flames to dissipate. Once through the Moonblast reached Garchomp, knocking him out on contact.
"Garchomp is unable to battle. The winner is Diantha". Everyone in the theater broke out in applause. Thibault returned his Garchomp and respectfully bowed to Diantha.
"You certainly live up to your reputation".
"Thank you general" She said.
"She's so amazing!" Serena said with stars in her eyes ,as she held her hands close to her face.
"That's not even the best part" Sycamore said.
"How could it possibly get any better?" Shauna asked.
"She told me she wanted to catch up on old times".
"Wait a minute, that means!" Serena started.
"You all get to meet her". The group almost sprinted through the hallways. Eventually Sycamore lead them to a door with a women in a suit standing watch. The women had short black hair with black glasses and a PDA in hand. When she saw them she gave them an unwelcome look.
"Can I help you?" She said.
"We're here to see Diantha" Sycamore said.
"Well you and everyone else in this castle. I'm her manager and I'm afraid she just doesn't have time for fans to smother her".
"You don't understand, I'm an old friend. She asked me to come and talk to her" Sycamore said.
"And you are?".
"Professor Sycamore". The woman looked at her PDA for a minute, then looked back at the professor.
"All right you can go in. But behave yourselves" She said looking at the teenagers. The manager opened the door revealing a small room, with an old-fashioned table and furnishings in it. Sitting a the table drinking a cup of tea, was none other than Diantha.
"It's her ! It's really her!" Shauna screamed as she ran in.
"Hey wait!" The manager shouted. Diantha heard Shauna and turned over to the pig tailed girl, as she stood directly in front of her. Shauna was almost shaking as she tried to speak.
"You're Diantha. The famous movie star and pokemon trainer. I-I-I'm Shauna, It's a privilege to meet you". Diantha smiled as she set her cup on the table.
"Hello Shauna, it's nice to meet you". Diantha turned towards the door and saw the professor with the others.
"Well Sycamore, I assume she's one of your students as are the others".
"It's nice to see you too Diantha" Sycamore said. Diantha giggled a little before she got up and gave the professor a hug. Serena, Shauna, and Clemont were still shaking.
"I can't believe I'm in the same room as her!" Serena said.
"Diantha these are my newest students. This is Ash, his brother Red. Serena, and you've already met Shauna".
"Miss Diantha it's such an honor to meet you" Serena said.
"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Serena. So you're an aspiring trainer".
"Y-yes I am. I'm competing in this tournament and I want to make it in the grand festival".
"Well I became a grand duchess before I became the champion. So I can tell you from experience you'll have a good time". Diantha turned towards Ash and Red, who didn't seem overwhelmed by her like the others. Just very impressed. Diantha couldn't put her finger on it, but something about the two boys seemed familiar.
"Diantha , I must say it is an honor to meet a trainer of your level. Ash and I are also in this tournament, but we're just in it for the practice".
"Practice?" Diantha said.
"We're planning on entering the Kalos league and becoming pokemon masters" Ash said.
"I see your pikachu doesn't enjoy being in a pokeball" Diantha said as she Pikachu resting on Ash's shoulder.
"He doesn't like being in his pokeball. How could you tell?" Ash said.
"I've learned a thing or two over the years" She said. She turned towards Clemont who was still shaking.
"I'm sorry I don't think I got your name".
"I-I'm Clemont leader of the Lumiose city gym. This is my sister Bonnie". Bonnie's eyes lit up as she looked up at Diantha.
"I can't believe I get to meet you miss. I'm such a big fan of your movies. Wait miss Diantha will you" Bonnie started before Red knelt down and quickly put his hands over her mouth.
"Clemont I probably just saved your life there" He said as Bonnie looked mad. Clemont let out a breath of relief , not wanting to even imagine if she had said what she wanted to say.
"So professor I heard about what happened with that Garchomp a few months ago. Was that really one of your student's?".
"She is, and Ash here is the boy who fell off Prism tower".
"That was you!?" Diantha said turning to Ash.
"Yup that was our crazy little Ash" Red said putting his arm over his brother's shoulder as Ash looked a little embarrassed.
"Well I did what I had to do. My Pikachu was on a section that had broken up. I tried to grab him before he could fall off and I ended up going to far".
"Well , now that's devotion to a one's pokemon. I've only known you for a few minutes Ash and I'm already impressed with your skills as a trainer and your pokemon". Hearing that from a regional champion made Ash and Pikachu feel very good.
"Thank you", "Pikachu!". The others almost felt jealous of Ash.
"Well I'd jump off a tower to help my pokemon" Clemont said. Everyone turned to Clemont who now felt like an idiot for saying that. Bonnie shook her heard in disappointed.
"So are you still researching more about mega evolution professor?".
"I am, that's why I had Garchomp with me. I believe she's capable of mega evolution, I'm just not exactly sure how yet". Diantha looked at the ground for a moment as if there was something she was hiding.
That was when Ash saw the stone on her necklace more clearly. After looking at it again he finally realized where he had seem it before.
"Excuse me Diantha, but where did you get that stone?" Ash said.
"You mean the one on my necklace?" She said.
" Yeah that one. Red and I have ones like it" Ash said taking out the stone Felix gave him.
"Yeah now that you mention it, they do look the same" Red said taking out his. Diantha's eyes widened when she saw the stones.
"Where did you get those stones?".
"They were given to us" Ash said.
" By who?" Diantha asked.
"Well it's sort of a long story" Red said. Suddenly Diantha's manager felt her PDA vibrate as she got a message.
"Oh my! Diantha you're not going to believe this, another Grand Duke has arrived and is requesting a battle with you".
"Wait a minute another Grand Duke? Who is it?".
"It doesn't say, apparently he's another military officer only this time he's from Kanto".
"You should face him! We'd love to see you in another battle" Shauna said.
"Yeah!" Serena said.
"I think it would be a good idea Diantha" Her manager said.
"Well I suppose it would be all right if I had another battle. Tell Fredric I'll be having another match". 25 minutes later Ash and the others were back in the private box. Diantha was standing on her end of the battlefield while Fredric stood in the center.
" Ladies and gentlemen, to see a battle between the grand Duke and grand Duchess was truly a momentous occasion. However, we are lucky enough to see another battle. Once again the grand Duchess and champion of the Kalos region , Diantha" The audience gave a loud uproar of applause as the spotlight shined on her.
"Now our other special guest. Grand duke , Captain Nair of the Kanto Air force" The spotlight revealed none other than Capt. Nair in his service blues wearing a blue beret with 2 silver bars on it. Like last time he wore a blue cloth over his neck and mouth.
"Captain Nair?"Ash said. They hadn't seen Capt. Nair since he defeated team rocket's robots outside of Lumiose city.
"You know him?" Shauna said.
"Sort of? He was with my father in Lumiose city, but he didn't say anything to us" Serena said.
" When team rocket kidnapped the professor and Serena , they used massive robots to battle the Kalos army" Red said.
"Pokemon moves didn't work against them, so we were in pretty bad shape. That was until captain Nair took out an Aggron and did something to it" Clemont said.
"Did what?" Shauna said.
"He had a stone on his wrist that he touched. When he did, his Aggron got bigger and looked like it evolved" Ash said.
"Really!" Shauna said amazed.
"Yeah and after he did , the Aggron was more powerful than any Pokémon I had ever seen before" Ash said.
"After he battled the two robots, the same Lucario that saved Ash came from the trees and helped him destroy the two robots" Serena said.
"After that he returned his Aggron and went after the Lucario and his trainer" Red said. Ash started to think, if it was Felix who had helped them that day. Why did Capt. Nair go after him? Ash also noticed that the stone Felix had given them and the stone on Diantha's necklace all seemed identical to the one they saw the captain touch.
"I believe he mega evolved him, and since he's here I'd like to ask him about it" professor Sycamore said.
"I'd like to talk to him to" Ash said. Even From the private box Ash and the others noticed Diantha seemed very shocked by Captain Nair's presence there. Not only that, but very uneasy. Almost as if she was scared.
"Is she all right?" Ash said.
"She seems nervous" Serena said.
"Are both trainers ready?" Fredric asked. Capt. Nair nodded, Diantha still seemed a bit nervous and didn't respond.
"U'm miss Diantha, are you ready?" Frederick said.
"What? Oh sorry ,I am uh ready". Diantha took out a Pokéball and held it up to her face for a moment. She then looked at Nair with much determination in her eyes, before sending out her Gardevoir.
"Yeah we get to see her beautiful Gardevoir battle again" Bonnie said.
Capt. Nair reached for his belt and took a pokeball off of it. He brought it up to his face for a moment, before throwing it forward and revealing what pokemon was inside. A massive Quadruped Pokémon with a massive shell covering it's back came out. The pokemon's 4 legs were very thick and powerful looking, it's head was armored with two massive pointed rocks sticking out of the side of its head. On top of its massive shell were 3 large pointed rocks and a tree.
The pokemon let out a roar so loud and powerful that it rattled many in the audience's teeth.
"Woah! What is that!?" Ash said taking out his pokedex.
"Torterra , the continental Pokémon:Torterra is the final evolved form of Turtwig. Sometimes small Pokémon gather to make their nests on Torterra's back." Ash noticed that captain Nair's Torterra looked much larger and fiercer looking than the one in the pokedex. Not only that, but his Torterra's shell was a dark red , with a black underside, and a red and black head.
"Its colors are different" Red said.
"It's possible that he's shiny" sycamore said.
"Whatever it is, it looks very powerful" Ash said.
"True but Garchomp looked pretty powerful, and he didn't last very long against Gardevoir" Clemont said. Captain Nair looked at Gardevoir and then Torterra. He nodded and the massive pokemon sprinted at Gardevoir with unbelievable speed for a Pokémon that large.
Diantha nodded and Gardevoir moved out of Torterra's path, just as quickly as she had moved in her last battle. Captain Nair turned his head with Gardevoir and his Torterra violently stopped. He roared before the leaves on the tree resting on his back began to glow. Just before Gardevoir stopped moving, Torterra unleashed leaf storm engulfing Gardevoir in a hurricane of sharp leaves.
"Gardevoir!" Diantha shouted.
"Did you see that!?" Red said.
"I've never seen a Pokémon make such a quick and accurate move. Especially on a Pokémon moving as fast as Gardevoir was" Ash said. Diantha gave another determined look before nodding to her Gardevoir.
Gardevoir quickly made a dozen copies of herself surrounding Torterra. Once the larger Pokémon was completely surrounded , all of the Gardevoirs' eyes began to glow pink, as they used psychic on Torterra. The Torterra looked like it was having a slight headache, but other than that it appeared that the move wasn't having much of an effect.
"How is he resisting psychic? Last match it brought that Garchomp two its knees" Serena said. Diantha was now very concerned. Capt. Nair took a deep breath , catching Ash's attention. He saw how the captain's eyes glowed blue for a moment. He then raised his finger to one of the Gardevoir and his Torterra turned to it.
The massive pokemon opened his mouth and unleashed a massive hyperbeam at Gardevoir. Almost frantically Diantha looked at her Gardevoir, who immediately used teleport. Gardevoir vanished thin air just before the hyper beam could reach her. Torterra had to recharge after using hyper beam, and thus Diantha saw an opportunity.
"Moon blast!" She said surprising many. When Gardevoir reappeared she gathered a ball of white light in her hands for a moment, as the Torterra turned to face her. The Torerra growled as he moved into a defensive stance, and looked as if his defenses were tightening.
When Gardevoir unleashed Moon blast , the burst of energy he made contact with Torterra. However, when the light cleared Torterra looked only slightly hurt by the attack. Seeing this made Diantha even more frustrated. Nair nodded as Torterra roared , smashing his front legs into the ground.
The ground beneath Gardevoir began to shake as the earth beneath her shifted. Diantha nodded again and Gardevoir used teleport. She vanished just before several spiked rocks shot out of the ground at her. Just before Gardevoir vanished completely, Torterra sprinted no random direction glowing red as he charged with giga impact.
"where is he going?" Shauna said. As soon as Gardevoir reappeared Torterra was right on top of her. When Torterra made contact, Gardevoir was hurled across the battlefield landing directly in front of a trainer. Diantha knelt down next to her Gardevoir as she tried to get up.
"Did that Torterra know where she was going to reappear?" Serena said.
"Got to be one of the most powerful Pokémon I've ever seen" Ash said. Diantha looked at captain Nair , then at her necklace. When the captain 's offer do this he shook his head as if he was no. Diantha nodded as she got up and touched the stone on her necklace.
Not a moment later the stone started to glow , as a colorful sphere of energy formed around Gardevoir.
"Wait a minute? It's just like with his Aggron!" Ash said.
"That means she's mega evolving!" Red said. when the sphere of vanished Gardevoir looked much fiercer. Two white appendages almost look at the ends of wings were on the sides of her cheeks. A white dress like skin appeared around her waist and legs as well as two red spikes coming out of her chest instead of one.
Everyone in the audience were speechless after seeing the mega evolution.
Diantha said with confidence "Psychic". Gardevoir's eyes glowed blue as she dominated over Torterra's mind and forced him into the ground.
Capt. Nair now look frustrated as he looked at Gardevoir and nodded. Torterra growled as he got up and smashed his feet into the ground. As the Earth beneath Gardevoir began to shift , Diantha nodded and her Pokémon's eyes began to glow. Using her telekinetic powers Diantha shifted the rocks away from herself one by one. Some of the rocks were redirected back at Torterra and smashed into his head. Gardevoir smiled before vanishing with teleport.
Gardevoir reappeared directly behind Torterra, who had already turned to face her. As soon as Torterra's garden for reappeared he unleashed Hyper beam towards her. Gardevoir responded by unleashed Moon blast instantaneously. The two attacks made contact and kept each other at bay for a minute, as the pokemon struggled to increase their power. Eventually Gardevoir's eyes glowed white and her Moon blast overpowered Hyperbeam. Torterra's eyes widened as he was engulfed by the white light and hurled across the battlefield.
"Wow she's doing much better now" Bonnie said.
"I guess Mega evolution is real" Sycamore said. Capt. Nair gave an irritated look before sighing. He raised his wrist and pulled back his sleeve. Diantha now looked terrified as she saw a stone embed it into something brown attached to his wrist. When he pressed it the stone began to glow as a colorful sphere of energy formed around Torterra.
"Hold on! Is he!?" Red started. When the sphere was gone Torterra was twice the size of a normal torterra, had three trees with vines, as well as four bushes with a small pond near them. Lastly several large black pointed rocks were now coming out of the sides of his shell , on top of the center of the shell, and 2 more on his head, one on his forehead, the other on his chin . The mega Torterra roared so loudly it knocked a few glasses from some tables in a few of the private boxes.
"Torterra can mega evolve too!" Serena said.
"Awesome!", "Pika!" Ash and Pikachu said very excited to see 2 mega evolved pokemon about to battle. Diantha took a deep breath before looking back at Gardevoir and nodding. Gardevoir's eyes began to glow blue as she hit Torterra with , this time Torterra's mental and physical defenses were far stronger. He stood on his legs, despite the powerful Psychic .
After a moment the leaves on Torterra's trees began to glow blue. Gardevioir prepared to move as Torterra aimed his trees at her. Torterra roared as the leaves from Leaf storm flew at her like a cyclone. Gardevoir moved away as quick as a flash , but the leaf storm wasn't over yet. Torterra aimed his trees up and the leaves began to engulf the entire battlefield in leaves.
Ash couldn't believe the magnitude of the Leafstorm. It looked like a small hurricane of leaves had engulfed the entire battlefield. No one could even see the two pokemon anymore. Now very nervous , Diantha contacted her Gardevoir via aura. Gardevoir was trying to hold on as leaves racked across her from every direction. When she felt her trainer's Aura, she gathered her strength and threw up a protective barrier of white energy over herself.
The sphere around her was made of the same energy that was in Moon blast. When the leaves racked across the sphere they were stopped , but Gardevoir still struggled to keep the barrier up. Diantha could feel her Gardevoir struggle against the pressure of the leaf storm. Diantha told Gardevoir to do something else. Gardevoir shouted as she unleashed Moon blast. The blast of white energy tore through every leaf in it's path .
Torerra could now see Gardevoir and turned , just as the Moon blast tore through the last of the leaves and smashed right into Torterra's face. Diantha seemed a little relieved when the Moon blast hit and Torterra was forced across the battlefield, looking a bit shook up.
"This is so amazing!" Red said.
Captain Nair looked back at his Torterra, who shook off the Moon blast and growled at Gardevoir. Captain Nair nodded before Torterra roared and glowed green. The ground beneath the battlefield began to shift and shake like never before.
"Is he using Earthquake?" Shauna asked.
"Maybe" Ash said. However, the attack wasn't earthquake. Moments later a series of massive spikes roots shot out of the ground towards Gardevoir. Gardevoir moved out-of-the-way as quick as a flash , but she soon learned she wasn't out of the fray yet. Another 3 massive roots shot out of the ground near her feet. This time they came up to fast and smashed her into the ground.
Gardevoir saw the roots come back at her and quickly used Psychic to stop the roots in their tracks. Just when the 3 roots were stopped another 3 shot out from under Gardevoir and entangled her.
"Oh no! Gardevoir use Moon blast to break free!" Diantha said. Gardevoir tried to blast her way out , but every time she made progress on a root another wrapped around her. Gardevoir also tried teleporting out, but there was something else keeping her entangled in the roots.
Captain Nair pointed at Gardevoir and Torterra roared. He began to glow red before sprinting at her faster than he did last time. The room shook every time Torterra's feet hit the ground.
"My god" Sycamore said. Gardevoir tried desperately to break free as Torterra got closer, but it was no use. Torterra reached Gardevoir and hit her with Giga impact. After contact was made the floor of the battlefield around them was shattered into pieces. Gardevoir was hurled across the battlefield with pieces of root around her.
"Gardevoir!" Diantha shouted. Gardevoir tried to get back up, but it was no use. She fell back down and returned to her normal form.
"Gardevoir is unable to battle. The winner is Captain Nair" Fredric said sounding very surprised. Everyone in the audience was completely dumbstruck by what they saw in the battle. Two pokemon that mega evolved, and the champion of the Kalos region defeated by an Air force captain.
Diantha sighed as she knelt down next to her Gardevoir and helped her up.
"No matter the outcome, you battled with everything you had Gardevoir. I'm proud of you". Captain Nair's Torterra had returned to his normal form and walked over to Diantha with his trainer. Diantha and her Gardevoir looked up at Nair and his Torterra.
"Now that I have your attention, we should talk alone" Nair said. Diantha nodded.
"Captain Nair beat Diantha" Serena said in disbelief.
"Alright I want to know who this guy is" Ash said. Several minutes later Diantha was alone in a large room looking at a collection of old relics and artifacts from the age of the original Battle chateaus. One that caught her interest was a large sapphire jewel in a display case.
Captain Nair walked into the room with Winston behind him. Diantha turned and saw the two men walk over towards her. Winston stopped next to the display case with the Jewel in it ,while Nair stood beside Diantha.
"How long did it take you to find it here?" Diantha said.
"Longer than you'd think" Nair said.
"I know why you came here. You want me to leave, and it has something to do with this Tear of Reduka" Diantha said.
"You're right, I knew you'd only listen if you were beaten in front of an audience" Nair said.
"If you asked me to leave I would have" Diantha said.
"No you wouldn't have" Winston said.
"Diantha you may not be an Aura Guardian anymore, but you still have the mega evolution stone. The enemies of our order know that our members carry them" Nair said.
" Enemies?" Diantha said.
"A few weeks ago our members in the Kalos army learned that the base in Ambrette Town had been mining for fossils and found a strange crystal. We believed it was a Tear of Reduka so we sent 2 Guardians to retrieve it. When they got there several men who were trying to steal it".
"Who?".
"A group called team Flare. Fortunately our Guardians managed to defeat them and retrieve the Tear. After that Chairon wanted to find out more about them" Nair said.
"So when he found out there was a tear of Reduka here , he decided to send me and Benedict here to watch over the Tear. Then if someone from team Flare tried to steal it, we could capture them and get some answers" Winston said.
"So when I showed up I might make them think the Aura guardians were here and would act with more caution" Diantha said.
"Exactly" Nair said.
"Well if they are here , then they've seen us both use Mega evolution so I think your secret is out" Diantha said.
"I told you not to use Mega evolution!" Nair almost yelled. Diantha sweat dropped.
"Sorry, I guess I just didn't want to lose. But I suppose the end results weren't changed. I guess I shouldn't have expected any less from you" Diantha said.
"Listen Diantha, since they probably know we're here I don't want you to leave anymore. I want you to stay and help us guard the Tear" Nair said.
"I suppose I could, and since you asked me so nicely I won't tell everyone who you really are Daniel" Diantha said smiling. Nair's face turned red and he almost screamed.
"You can't tell them who I really am. Do you realize how long it took me to make this cover. How hard it was getting through the Kanto Air force academy without being swarmed by other people. I don't need that kind of notoriety".
"Well then you shouldn't have beaten so many very impressive trainers. Besides how lazy is your cover name, Nair. Seriously Daniel just spell it backwards and you get" Diantha started when the door to the room opened. The three turned to see Diantha's manager standing with Sycamore and the others.
"There you are Diantha. We've been looking for you" Her manager said.
"Oh Sorry for rushing off like that" Diantha said as the others rushed over.
"I can't believe we got to witness you both use Mega evolution!" Red said.
"Diantha, Captain Niar. You need to tell me how it works. I've been researching Mega evolution for months now and now I've gotten to witness it first hand!" Sycamore said excited. Captain Nair noticed Ash and Red , who looked very excited.
" Captain Nair, that was the most incredible battle I've ever seen" Ash said. He didn't respond.
"Mr. Nair how did you beat Diantha? She's the champion of Kalos and your just and air force soldier?" Bonnie said.
"Bonnie! That's not a nice thing to say" Clemont said.
"Sorry" Bonnie said. Serena noticed Winston standing next to a display case with a large sapphire stone inside.
"Woah what is that" Serena said walking over to it. Ash and the others looked over and saw the massive stone. Ash and Red felt a strange energy omitting from the stone. The same energy that had emitted from the crystal in the mine.
Ash looked back at captain Nair who was still staring at him and his brother.
"Captain Niar, I need to ask you something. Back in Lumoise city when you defeated team rocket's robots, the trainer with the Mega Lucario you went after. I know who he is, so why did you go after him?" Ash said. Nair didn't respond , but was very interested and concerned when he heard Ash say he knew who Felix was.
"Actually guys, the next round of the tournament is going to start soon" Shauna said looking at her watch.
"It is!" Serena said.
"Well, I think we should head over to the main hall. How would you like it if the captain and I watched your matches. Then explain to you more about Mega evolution" Diantha said.
"Are you serious!" Serena said with stars in her eyes.
"Of course" Diantha said.
"Awesome!" Red said. Captain Nair turned to Winston and nodded. Moments later when Ash looked over , Winston was gone.
"Hey wasn't Winston just here?".
"Who?" Diantha said.
"Come on Ash, forget it. We need to get to the main hall!" Serena said grabbing him by the hand and dragging him out of the room followed by the others.
When they reached the main hall they saw most of the members had returned to the main hall. Diantha had put on a large hat and a pair of sunglasses, trying to avoid being recognized. The group made their way towards the front , as Fredric stood on a platform with a microphone.
"Now that we've seen 2 very interesting battles, we are ready to continue the tournament".
"Actually you still have one more performance to see" A familiar voice said. The lights in the hall went off , and many of the people inside got scared.
"Brother what's going on?" Bonnie said scared.
"Look!" Ash shouted as a spotlight shined on ledge above them. Standing on the ledge were two people wearing black uniforms with red R's on the chest. One was a women with long Red hair, and the other was a man with blue hair and a rose in his hand.
"Oh no" Red said.
"It's team rocket's Jessie and James!" Serena shouted.
"Prepare for trouble" Jessie said.
"And make it double" James said.
"To protect the world from devastation" another voice said. Everyone turned to see another spotlight, shining on another part of the upper level . Standing there was another man wearing uniform to Jessie and James, only his R was blue and his shirt had several metal modifications added to them. The man was large with spiky black hair, grayish eyes, and some other frightening features. Features like fingernails filed into claws, and teeth filed into fangs.
"To unite all peoples within our nation" Another voice said. A third person was revealed, a women wearing a team rocket uniform that seemed to be customized like the other mans. The woman had long green hair tied into long pigtails , and green eyes.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love" Another voice said. A fourth person was revealed, a man wearing another customized team rocket uniform. The man seemed very tall and skinny, with whitish hair, and two boomerangs put in holsters on his uniform.
"To extend our reach to the stars above" A final voice said. A fifth person was revealed, a man wearing a customized team rocket uniform. His uniform had several electrical wires and components attached to it.
"Team rocket blast off at the speed of light" Jessie said.
"Surrender now or prepare to fight" James said.
A 3 part story arc, I swear to god I did not plan this. I didn't realize how long the battle between Nair and Diantha would take. Look the next part of this arc would be too long to put into this chapter and I didn't want to make this chapter like Transformers 2. The next chapter will be the last one in this story arc, then we will get to Ash vs Grant, I promise.
As for captain Nair. If any of you have read my previous pokemon fan fictions, I think you know who he is :)
Also , in the next chapter we'll be seeing a much more threatening group of team rocket, so stay tuned
