Chapter 21: Battle of the battle Château
The six team rocket members stood over a now frightened audience as Ash and the others looked up at them.
"Team Rocket? The criminals that have been appearing all over Kalos?" Diantha said a little confused.
"We've encountered them a few times. We've even encountered those to before" Serena said pointing to Jessie and James.
"But we've never seen the others before" Red said.
"Ladies and gentlemen allow me to introduce my companions" The man with the filed teeth and fingernails said. He pointed to Jessie and James, who stood back to back with very menacing looks on their face..
"The rocket Duo , Jessie and James". He then pointed to the woman with Green hair.
"Isabel of Infestation" The women gave a devious look on her face as she looked down at them. He then pointed to the skinny man with two boomerangs.
"Christian the Cleaver". The man took out one of his boomerangs and hurled it down towards the crowd. The boomerang sliced right through a marble column , causing it to fall over in two pieces. The man caught his boomerang as it flew back to him and put it in it's holster. Unlike the others who had more evil and mischievous expressions, this man's was very serious.
The first man then pointed to the man with the electric wires and components on his uniform.
"Electric Earl". The last man gave a sinister smile as the components on his uniform lit up with red lights and a surge of electricity flew through the circuits.
"Now for me. I am Duncan, dragon of Team Rocket" the first man said as he revealed his fangs and claws again.
"Please stay calm , nobody has to get hurt. We simply ask you place your pokeballs on the ground and stand aside as we take the treasures of this castle" Isabel said.
"Yeah you and what army?" Another trainer said. Moments later the trainer was shocked by an electric baton from behind. The man who shocked him whipped off his suit revealing he was a team rocket grunt. Dozens of other people in the crowd also began to reveal themselves as team rocket grunts.
"Throw down your pokeballs now!" Christian shouted as he took out one of his boomerangs. Most of the people below were very scared, and weren't sure what to do. Some even started to put down their pokeballs.
"We need to do something" Ash said.
"Right, but what?" Serena said.
"We need to split up and divide their forces" Benedict said.
"He's right, six of us should try and get the guys on top while the rest of us rally the other trainers here against the grunts" Diantha said.
"Perhaps I can be of assistance" A familiar voice said. The group turned around to General Thibault standing there.
"General" Diantha said.
"I heard your plan and I think I can help you rally the other trainers here. I've done it many times in my military career".
"Alright! we can do this!" Ash said.
"Now we just need to figure out whose doing what" Clemont said.
"Ash and I can handle the Rocket Duo" Red said looking up at Jessie and James.
"I'll take miss menacing " Diantha said.
"The Cleaver is mine" Benedict said.
"I want to face the man with all that hardware!" Clemont said with stars in his eyes.
"Brother stop admiring him!" Bonnie said. Captain Nair looked up at Duncan, after a minute Ash noticed it.
"I guess the captain has Dragon boy" Ash said.
"Alright, that means Shauna and I are going to help the General rally the other trainers" Serena said.
"Sounds good, there are a few other soldiers here that I already talked to. They're ready when you are" Thibault said.
"Lets do this" Ash said. The group spread themselves out , each moving towards their intended target. As Captain Nair approached Duncan he saw two young trainers being forced to hand their pokeballs over to a pair of rocket grunts. He walked over as once of the grunts saw him.
"Hey buddy, hand over your pokeballs too" One of the grunts said as he moved his shock baton towards him. Nair knocked the baton aside with hist wrist and then bashed the grunt across the face with his fist and forearm. When the other grunt saw his partner go down, he quickly thrusted his baton towards Nair.
Nair caught the baton's non electric part with his left hand , then slammed his right palm into the Grunt's wrist. The baton was forced out of the grunts hand leaving him very scared. Moments later Nair slammed his fist into the Grunt's head knocking him out.
Four more grunts rushed over with electric batons aimed at him. When one thrusted his electric baton at Nair, he moved his shoulder back then thrusted his left palm into the mans elbow. The power of the strike snapped the man's elbow, before Nair slammed his other palm into the grunt's face.
The second grunt swung his baton like a bat. Nair ducked down and then swiped his leg knocking the grunt off balance. Nair then lunged forward and slammed him into a table. The last two grunts came at him simultaneously. Nair waited until they got close then whipped his palms forward as 2 blades should out from under his sleeves.
The two blades cut the batons electric ends off, leaving the two grunts extremely scared. This finally caught the attention of Duncan, who was watching from above.
"So we've got a tough guy down there. Good, I was hoping for some fun" Duncan said licking his filed teeth. He leapt down and tried to slash him with his filed fingernail claws. Nair saw this and held up one of his wrist-blades in a defensive position. When Duncan's claws made contact with the blade , they were cut clean off.
This enraged Duncan who slashed his other claws at Nair. The captain lurched back then quickly slashed Duncan's other claws off with his other wrist-blade. After his claws were gone, Nair lunged forward and bashed his fist into Duncan forcing him back.
Duncan lurched back hissing at Nair. Moments later General Thibault shouted "Now!". A large draco meteor was launched into the air from his Garchomp. The other soldiers with the help of Serena and the others , moved most of the trainers back into a large circle.
When the draco meteor burst and flew down, only the team rocket grunts were in its path. Some of the rocket grunts got out-of-the-way, but most of the others were all hurled back as the draco meteorites hit the ground and exploded.
With the grunts in sheer chaos Thibualt's men, as well as Serena and the others quickly sent out their pokemon at the remaining grunts.
When Duncan and the other team rocket officers saw this , they immediately got into action.
"Fine ,let me show you the other reason they call me the dragon of team rocket". Duncan took out two poke balls and threw them forward. A pair of massive Noiverns came out and roared at Nair, sending powerful sound waves at him.
Nair took out a poke ball and sent out a massive Feraligatr, who snarled at the Noivern flashing his jaws. Duncan noticed that the Feraligatr's skin wasn't blue, but more cyan with blue scales on its the Noivern could make a move Nair brought out the top part of his wrist blade holder. When Ash saw this , he noticed that he didn't have just one , but many mega evolution stones on it.
After Nair touched the stone, a blue and red stone impeded into one of Feraligatr's teeth began to glow. A colorful sphere began to form around Feraligatr, catching the attention of Ash and Red.
"Woah look!" Red said. When the glowing stopped Feraligatr was almost twice the size of a normal Feraligatr with teeth that stuck out of the mouth even when it was closed. He also appeared to have a more muscular and robust body type. With several large and armored spots on his scales.
"He has a mega Feraligatr too!" Ash said.
"What did you just do" Duncan said dumbfounded.
"Oh it doesn't matter, Noivern hit that lizard with dragon pulse and air slash!". One of the Noivern flew up high before unleashing a massive pulse of violet dragon energy at Feraligatr. Meanwhile the other Noivern flew at Feraligatr with incredible speed , preparing to slash him with his wings and claws.
Nair gave a nod and Feraligatr's claws began to glow violet with dragon energy. He held his claws in front of him as the dragon pulse flew towards him, and his claws began to absorb the power of the dragon pulse.
By the time the second Noivern reached Feraligatr ,the dragon pulse was over and Feraligatr was ready. He jumped up and slammed his claws into the Noivern's chest hurling him into the ground.
"Quick knock him back with hurricane" The second Noivern flew up and violently whipped his wings at Feraligatr creating a small hurricane. The cyclone hit Ferilgatr and forced him to the ground, but he still managed to stay on his feet.
Captain Nair looked at Ferilagtr who then looked back at his trainer as he nodded. Feraligatr roared as his tail slowly covered itself in spinning water. He snarled as he broke out of the Hurricane and soared towards the Noivern.
"Intercept him with dragon pulse!" Duncan shouted. The other Noivern tried to blast Feraligatr with Dragon pulse, but Ferilgatr was prepared. His claws were still full of dragon energy , when the dragon pulse got close enough Feraligatr slashed through the Dragon pulse with his claws.
Duncan and his Noivern were completely dumbstruck by what Feraligatr was able to do. Ferilgatr smashed his tail into the Noivern , plowing him into the ground.
"Both of you use hurricane!" Duncan shouted. Both Noivern violently flapped their wings forcing Feraligatr into a massive cyclone. At first it seemed like Feraligatr was bogged down indefinitely. Duncan grinned for a moment before the cyclone was torn open by a a hydro pump so large and powerful , that it engulfed both Noivern.
Moments later Feraligatr flew out into the air with both his claws glowing violet with dragon energy.
"Stop him with Hurricane!". The Noivern tried to get up and use Hurricane , but Feraligatr was moving to fast. He flew head first and slashed the Noivern with his claws. When Feraligatr landed beyond them, the Noivern were both knocked out.
Duncan hissed as he returned his Noivern. Two grunts with nidoran ran up behind Duncan with electric batons in hand.
"Get him!" Duncan roared as he whipped a small grappling hook onto the ledge above. The two nidoran sprinted at Captain and Feraligatr with the grunts close behind. As soon as the Nidoran were in range, Feraligatr slashed them both with dragon claw knocking them out. Nair cut the batons in half with his wrist blades then bashed the two man across the face with the tops of his wrist.
After the two grunts went down Nair looked up at Duncan, who was climbing back up to the upper level. He noticed a large number of pokeballs attached the the back of his uniform. Sensing their aura he could tell they were stolen from some of the trainers. He took a deep breath and gathered his aura.
When he had enough he swiped his hand in front of him. A few streaks of aura energy flew through the air and hit Duncan in the back. This caused all the pokeballs to fall off and Duncan to nearly fall to the ground.
Elsewhere Diantha saw Isabel directly above her. As two grunts with Nidoran approached Diantha she took out a pokeball.
"You know normally I would say ganging up on someone is unfair. But in this case I'd say your attempts are very foolish" She said as she sent out a massive pokemon. The two grunts were in disbelief as they saw an Aurorus in front of them. The two Nidoran stopped as they saw the aurorus towering over them.
Aurorus opened her mouth and blasted the two Nidorino with icebeam knocking them out. When the grunts reached Diantha she moved out of the way as one of them swung his baton at her. When she was clear she grabbed him by the arm and hurled him into the ground.
The other grunt thrusted his baton forward, but Diantha moved to the side , grabbed his arm, then pushed her leg back against his. This forced the grunt to the ground and his baton onto his head. Isabel raised an eyebrow then leapt down towards her.
"I know who you are, but even a small insect can hold the most lethal poison" Isabel said as she let out two bug type pokemon. One was Venemoth , while the other was a Vivillon.
"The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Bring down that thing with Sleep powder and Stun spore" Isabel said. The two bugs flew over Aurorus letting out paralyzing spores and sleep inducing powder over the colossal dinosaur.
"Aurorus use Icy wind". The crystals on her sides began to let out an Icy wind. The Icy wind carried all of the powder and spores away.
"Grrr, Venemoth use Signal beam. Vivillon use Psybeam" The two bugs' eyes began to glow before they unleashed their attacks.
"Aurora beam Aurorus" Diantha said. Aurorus opened her mouth while the crystals on her sides began to glow yellow. Aurorus unleashed a powerful Aurora beam. The Aurora beam overpowered the other attacks causing Venemoth and Vivillon to fly backwards.
"Finnish them with ice beam". Aurorus opened her mouth and unleashed a massive Ice beam. The Icebeam flew through the air and coated the two bugs in a thick layer of ice. Isabel watched in horror as her two pokemon landed in front of her unconscious.
Isabel scowled as she returned her pokemon. Diantha smiled as her Aurorus looked down at Isabel. She waved over two grunts who came over with two Zubats. As Amaura blasted the two Zubat's with Aurora beam, Isabel ran from Diantha's sight.
Elsewhere Ash and Red were both in a struggle with a team rocket Grunt. Ash had one of the grunt's arm and forced the man over his body using his own force against him. Red smashed his palm into the man's elbow , making him drop his electric baton. After the baton hit the ground , Red hit the man in the throat and watched him fall to the ground.
While the trainers took care of the grunts , Pikachu easily knocked out the grunts' Zubats with Thunderbolt. Watching from above was none other than Jessie and James.
"It's those brats again" James said.
"I'd say it's time we teach them a proper lesson" Jessie said. The two leapt down in front of Ash and Red as Pikachu climbed back onto Ash's shoulder.
"This is the last time we're going to have to deal with you twerps. Go Arcanine!" James said as he sent out a massive Arcanine, that snarled with fire in its mouth.
"Go Ninetales" A powerful looking Ninetales came out and growled at the trainers.
"Lets do this, I choose you Charmeleon!" Ash said.
"I choose you Charmeleon!" Red shouted. Both trainers' Charmeleons came out and snarled at Team Rocket's pokemon.
"Arcanine round them up with Extremespeed". The Arcanine sprinted forward with incredible speed and knocked Red's Charmeleon onto the ground.
"Dragon rage!" Ash shouted. Ash's Charmeleon turned and tried to blast Arcanine , but the large pokemon was too fast. He smacked into Charmeleon's stomach before he could slash him. Arcanine continued to speed around the two Charmeleon, knocking them back down whenever they tried to get back up.
"Perfect , Ninetales use confuse ray" Jessie said. Ninetales eyes glowed red as she opened her mouth and unleashed a ball of red energy.
"Guys you have to move!" Red shouted. The two Charmeleon tried to avoid the confuse ray , but Arcanine kept them corralled with extreme speed. The confuse ray hit and afflicted the Charmeleons , causing confusion.
"That's not good" Ash said. Both Charmeleon stumbled around in confusion.
"Now that they're nice and confused, Ninetales use Psyshock" Jessie said.
"Arcanine use Thunder fang" James said. The two team rocket Pokémon sprinted at the two Charmeleon , as the fire lizards tried to regain their composure.
"Now what?" Ash said.
"They can't see straight, we'll be their eyes" Red said. He saw the Psyshock almost reach his Charmeleon.
"Charmeleon use your Dragon claws directly in front of you and spin when the attack hits" Red said. While he was confused, Charmeleon could still understand what his trainer was telling him to do. He held his Dragon claws in front of him as the Psyshock hit them. The dragon energy helped absorb the energy of the Psyshock .
Like Red said, Charmeleon spun around and flung his claws forward, forcing the energy and his claws to the redirected at Ninetales. Jessie and Ninetales were completely blindsided by what happened. The Psyshock hit Ninetales, knocking her back.
"Charmeleon use Flamethrower on the ground" Ash said as he saw Arcanine closing in. Charmeleon's tail flame grew larger ,before he blasted the ground in front of him with fire. While the fire didn't do much damage to Arcanine as he ran through it, it did slow him down.
"Now use Dragon rage directly in front of you!" , "Char meleon!" Charmeleon gathered his dragon energy and blasted Arcanine back towards James.
"Capable brats aren't they" James said.
"Not capable enough though"Jessie said.
"Quite right Arcanine use Bulldoze".
"Ninetales on his back and use Protect"Ninetales jumped onto Arcanine's back and covered them in a large green barrier as Arcanine sprinted forward picking up momentum.
"Guys you have to move!" Ash said. The two Charmeleons tried to move but they were still a bit confused. Arcanine slammed into the fire lizards , and hurled them back in front of their trainers.
"Charmeleon!", "Pika!".
"You can't beat us" Jessie said.
"We're too good" James said.
"I don't care how good you think you are. My bond with my Charmeleon is stronger than any you have with your pokemon. Because of that we'll ways be better" Red said. His Charmeleon got up as the flame on his tail grew larger.
Moments later his entire body was enveloped in white light and he began to grow larger. Ash's Charmeleon watched in amazement.
"Charmeleon, you're" when the glowing stopped Charmeleon was much larger , with a larger flame on his tail. He had a long neck, stern-looking blue eyes, raised nostrils, and two blunt horns protruding from the back of its rectangular head. Two fangs were visible when its mouth is closed. Two large wings with teal undersides sprout from its back, and a horn-like appendage juts out from the third joint of each wing
"Groahh!" Charizard roared as flames came out of his mouth.
"Awesome! Charizard Fly into the air!".
"Charmeleon , onto his back!" Ash shouted. Charmeleon quickly got onto Charizard's back as he soared into the air.
"Arcanine use Hyper beam".
"Ninetales 's Psyshock on the Hyper beam". Arcanine opened his mouth and unleashed a powerful orange blast of energy at the two fire lizards. At the same time Ninetales unleashed Psyshock to the hyper beam, which sent smaller collections of Psyshock flying all around the air above them.
"Charizard swooped down with wing attack, into Dragon claw".
"Charmeleon use Dragon rage, then Flamethrower". Charizard flew down with incredible speed, as Charmeleon unleashed a burst of dragon energy then blasted it with fire. The Flamethrower bursted the Dragon rage into a barrage of dragon fire energy , that was able to tear through any Psyshock beams in front of them.
When Charizard reached the ground he slammed his wings into Arcanine and Ninetale. This forced the two Pokémon directly in front of him.
"Dragon claw!" Ash and Red shouted. Both of their Pokémon slashed up Arcanine and Ninetales with Dragon claw, knocking them out.
"Beaten? By a bunch of toward the twerps?" Jessie said. The two returned their Pokémon and glared at the two brothers.
"Perhaps another time" James said.
"Agreed" Jessie said. She threw a device down onto the floor that temporarily blinded and deafened the brothers, and their pokemon. When they regain their senses, Jessie and James were gone.
"Well, should probably go and help the others" Ash said. Elsewhere, Sycamore, Serena, and Shauna were in a battle with 3 team rocket grunts.
"Braixen use flamethrower" Serena said.
"Smack down Frogadier".
"Pyroar use take down" Sycamore said. Braixen opened her mouth and unleashed a powerful jet of flame as one of the grunt's Nidorino unleashed poison sting at her. When the two attacks met, the flamethrower easily burn the deploys and continued on engulfing Nidorino in fire.
Frogadier quickly moved across the floor and jumped over a grunt's Zubat , as he flew down trying to bite him. Once Frogadier was over Zubat he hurled a curved rock at the bat pokemon, hurling him into the ground.
Pyroar sprinted across the room and jumped into the air as the other Zubat flew at him. When the two made contact Zubat was hurled into the ground.
"Wow! You guys are beating them!" Bonnie said as the grunts returned their Pokémon and ran.
"This is good, if we can keep this up with the other trainers we'll have the battle Chateau back in no time" Serena said. Above watching over them was Christian. He stared at Serena and the others as they beat the grunts. While most of the trainers in the battle Château were battling the grunts, he paid particularly close attention to Serena and Sycamore.
He unsheathed his metal boomerangs and aimed that the group. As Braixen walked back towards Serena , she saw Christian above them with his boomerangs in hand.
"Braixen!" She cried as she tackled Serena onto the ground. Moments later before Serena could even ask why she did that, two metal boomerangs flew right over where she would have been standing. The metal boomerangs continued on and cut a set of knight armor in half as they made contact with it.
When Serena and the others saw this, they were filled with great fear. When the boomerangs returned to Christian's hands, he jumped down onto the floor and raised his arms again.
"Lookout!" Sycamore shouted. Ash and Red saw what had happened, and were sprinting over towards them. Christian hurled both boomerangs at Serena and Braixen.
"Serena!" Ash screamed. Serena screamed in fear before embracing Braixen with her eyes closed. Just before the boomerangs could reach them , Benedict quickly got in between them and held out his wrists. A pair of blades came out from under his sleeves, deflecting the two boomerangs.
"What!?" Ash and the others said in confusion. Serena opened her eyes and saw Benedict in front of her with Wrist blades. Christian's eyes widened as the boomerangs returned to his hand. He prepared to throw them again, when Benedict took a deep breath and flicked his wrist.
A small wave of blue energy knocked the boomerangs out of Christian's hands. Christian raised an eyebrow as he knelt down and picked up his weapons. Without warning, Christian sprinted over and jumped up attempting to slash Benedict with his right boomerang. Benedict blocked the boomerang with his wrist blades and began exchanging strikes with the team rocket officer.
After a minute Benedict delivered a powerful kick to Christians chest, knocking him onto his back. Christian jumped right back up and threw something from both his hands. This time however, it wasn't boomerangs but pokeballs. A pair of large steel type pokemon came out. They resembled two swords sheathed on a plaque. Each sword has a pink eye with a black, linear pupil on the hilt, as well as a pink, tassel-like arm emerging from the handle.
"What are those?" Ash said as he opened his pokedex.
"Doublade the sword pokemon. The complex attack patterns of its two swords are unstoppable, even for an opponent greatly accomplished at swordplay.".
Benedict took out a pokeball and sent out his Alakazam. Just before Christian could call out an attack , Benedict revealed a stone on his wristblade holder and pressed it. A colorful sphere surrounded Alakazam making him grow larger. When it vanished, Alakazam was larger, had a massive white beard, and multiple spoons floating over his head.
"Benedict too!" Red said in disbelief.
"Use Slash and Arial ace" Christian said. The two doublades quickly flew at Alakazam , ready to slash him.
"Alakazam use Psychic". Alakazam's eyes began to glow red as he caught the two Doublades with his telekinetic powers. When the two doublades were in his grasp, Alakazam hurled them both into each other then into the ground.
"Doublade use shadow sneak" The two Doublades extended their dark shadows beyond Alakazam and prepared to strike him.
"Behind you, use Psyshock from above" Alakazam unleashed a powerful Psyshock into the air from his spoons, then directed it on the ground around him. The blasts kept the ghost attacks away and also hit the two Doublades.
"Kill him! Use shadow claw!" Christian screamed with malice. The two Doublades flew at Alakazam with their ghost attacks ready.
"Psychic!" Alakazam hit both Doublades with Psychic and hurled the back into the ground, knocking them out. Christian gave Benedict a very menacing stare, before returning his pokemon and scaling the wall behind him onto the upper level.
Across the room Clemont stood against Earl.
"I see you dabble in the works of technology too" Earl said as he saw Clemont's backpack.
"Well thanks I".
"I'll be sure to take it from you with all your pokemon" Earl said as he lit up a few components on his uniform. A magnet ripped Clemont's backpack off him and over to Earl. Clemont was pulled forward and onto the ground as a result.
"Too easy" Earl said as he opened up the bag and took out Clemont's pokballs.
"Hey stop!" Clemont shouted as he got up. Just as Earl was about to walk away one of the pokeballs opened revealing Clemont's Heliolisk.
"What the?" Earl started before Heliolisk opened his frill and zapped him with electricity.
"Yaahh!". Earl dropped Clemont's backpack and his other pokeballs , then fell over.
"Hah great job Heliolisk!" Clemont said as he ran over and collected his things. Earl got up and noticed that his hardware was fried from Heliolisk's shock.
"That dam pokemon fried my equipment. Now he's going to pay, go Electabuzz!" Earl shouted as he threw a pokeball forward. A large Electabuzz came out and flexed his arms.
"Don't be intimidated Heliolisk, use Thunder!".
"Low kick under him" Earl said. Heliolisk opened his frill and unleashed a massive bolt of electricity at Electabuzz. The Electabuzz ran forward then slid on the ground as the Thunder flew overhead.
"Huh!?" Clemont said. Electabuzz slammed his foot into Heliolisk , hurling him back several feet.
"Heliolisk! Don't give up, we're going to win. Use charge into quick attack" Heliolisk opened his frill and covered himself in electricity. Once he had enough , Heliolisk sprinted forward at Electabuzz.
"Electabuzz use that charge against him, catch him and absorb his power. Then use thunder punch". When Heliolisk got close Electabuzz caught him with his offhand. He smiled as a surge of electricity went through the antennas on his head. Heliolisk felt his own electrical power begin to fade away.
When Electabuzz had all the power of charge , he slammed his right fist into Heliolisk.
"Oh no!" Clemont said as Heliolisk landed in front of him.
"I thought you were suppose to be a gym leader. How pathetic, put that thing out of its misery with a Focus blast" Earl said. Electabuzz smiled as he ran up with his fist glowing red.
"Heliolisk dragon tail on his stomach!" Clemont said. Heliolisk opened one eye and saw Electabuzz directly in front of him. At the last moment he jumped up and slammed his tail into Electabuzz's stomach. Much to the Earl's surprise as his Electabuzz flew back and landed on his feet.
"Keep up the pressure with bulldoze" . Heliolisk sprinted forward as Electabuzz tried to regain his breath.
"Electabuzz use Thunderpunch !" Electabuzz brought his fist back but was too late. Heliolisk slammed into Electabuzz , knocking him out.
"Heliolisk we won!" Clemont shouted. Earl returned his Electabuzz and glared at Clemont.
"Next time brat, when my hardware is repaired you're going to meet your end" Earl said. He threw the same device that Jessie and James threw to the ground , blinding Clemont. When he regained his vision, Earl was gone.
"Meet my end!" He said in fear. Admit the confusion going on in the main hall, three men entered another chamber. These men were not members of the battle Chateau, nor were they members of team rocket. They approached a glass case with a large sapphire stone inside.
"While those fools battle each other, this tear of Reduka will be ours" The lead man said as he reached for the case. Just before he could touch it , a young man leapt down from the ceiling and slammed his feet into the man's shoulders. When the lead man was knocked back, he pushed his men back with him.
When the man got back on his feet he saw Winston standing between them and the Tear of Reduka, with his wristblades held out.
"No , you people again" The man said.
"Don't think I don't know who you and your men are. Team Flare". The men took off their suits revealing they were members of Team Flare. The one in the middle had old fashion medieval age like armor.
"I don't care if you are an Aura guardian, that Tear is ours" The leader said as he sent out a Pyroar, and his grunts each sent out a Litleo.
Winston threw out a poke ball, revealing a large and very menacing looking Gengar. Before anyone could call out a move, Benedict revealed a colored stone on his wristblade holder and touched it. A colorful sphere formed around Gengar as he started to grow larger.
When the sphere vanished Gengar was much bigger with a yellow circle on his forehead, A red lower body, and a spiky back.
"Dam it, oh it doesn't matter we have a mission. Pyroar use Flamethrower". The Pyroar unleashed Flamethrower while the Litleos unleashed Ember.
"Gengar use shadow ball on the ground into shadow claw". Gengar grinned as he formed massive ball of dark ghost energy in his mouth. When it was large enough he blasted the ground in front of him with it. The ghost energy blew away all of the flames and covered the area in ghost energy. Genegar sprinted forward through the ghost energy as his claws glowed violet.
He slashed all 3 pokemon, knocking out the Litleo and hurling back the Pyroar.
"Grr, Pyroar get him with Hyperbeam".
"Dark pulse" Winston said. Gengar unleashed a powerful burst of dark energy around him. The dark energy absorbed the hyperbeam. When the Dark pulse was gone, Gengar had vanished.
"What?" The man said. Pyroar looked around, not noticing Gengar appear behind him.
"Shadow ball". Pyroar turned around just in time to see Gengar's Shadow ball. Pyroar was engulfed in dark ghost energy and knocked out.
"Dam you, I don't even care. We're getting that stone" The man said as he drew a small sword. The 3 men charged towards Winston. With one quick movement Winston jabbed his fingers into the two grunt's throats , nearly knocking them unconscious. The leader swung his sword at Winston several times, each strike he blocked with his wristblades.
After parrying one strike Winston delivered a powerful kicked to the man's chest. This only knocked him back a few inches, so Winston took a deep breath and thrusted his hands forward, hurling the man onto the ground with a blast of aura.
Winston and his Gengar walked over to the 3 men and stood over them.
"You boys are coming with me". The man in armor gave an angry expression, which quickly turned to a distressed one.
"The jewel no!" Winston and Gengar turned around to see someone had broken the glass case and taken the Tear of Reduka.
"What!?". The man in armor knocked Winston onto the ground with his legs then got up and ran out of the room with his grunts. Winston got up and sprinted after them while his Gengar subdued their pokemon. Winston managed to tackle one of the grunts and held a wrist blade to his face.
"You're coming with me". As time passed General Thibault contacted the closest army base and had a battalion of soldiers sent to the Battle Chateau. When they arrived , most of team rocket had fled. General Thibault was talking with Fredric.
"They didn't get anyone's pokemon, but dozens of things were stolen. Knight's armor, vases, jewels, and other artwork".
"We'll do our best, but Team rocket is most likely going to sell it" Thibault said. Ash and the others met up with Benedict and Diantha.
"Benedict you're an Aura guardian , aren't you" Ash said.
"An aura what?" Benedict said.
"Ben don't even try, we know what aura guardians are. We've met them before" Red said.
"Alright fine, you've got me. I'm an aura guardian".
"If you're an aura guardian then what are you doing here?" Serena said.
"I wanted to join the battle chateau and see what it was all about. I couldn't enter just yet because my Alakazam is too use to mega evolving when we battle. I didn't think it would be fair to the other contestants".
"Well thank you for saving my life" Serena said.
"It was nothing , it's my duty" Benedict said.
"Hey where did captain Nair go?" Ash said.
"He left when the soldiers arrived. I'm afraid I must be going too" Diantha said.
"It was such an honor meeting you!" Serena said.
"Yeah, your my idol!" Shauna said.
"You are all very skilled trainers, you will go on to do great things" Diantha said. She left the battle Chateau as Fredric walked up to them.
"I'm sorry to say that the incident with team rocket will cause a premature end to the tournament".
"Aww really?" Shauna said.
"I'm afraid so, however, I'm pleased to say that you have all won enough battles to advance your ranks. Your are all now Viscounts and Viscountesses".
"Really!?" Serena said.
"Yes congratulations" Fredric said before he walked away.
"I can't believe it! We're Viscounts!" Serena said.
"I know, you're one step closer to the grand festival" Ash said.
"I need to get going to. It was nice meeting you guys" Benedict said as he walked away.
"I'll see you guys at the next battle Chateau" Shauna said as she waved goodbye.
"I guess we should get back to the pokemon center and get some rest. You've got your gym battle tomorrow Ash" Red said.
"Right","Pika".
Miles away in a large cave, team rocket had set up a base of operations inside. The 6 officers were standing in front of a large video monitor.
"Sir, executive Marlen is ready for your report" a grunt said. Executive Marlen was the rocket executive put in charge of team rocket operations in Kalos.
"Put him on" Duncan said. The moniter turned on showing a shadowy man in a suit sitting behind a desk.
"Report" Marlen said.
"Sir, the raid on the battle Chateau went reasonably well. We didn't get any pokemon, but we did steal plenty of artifacts from the castle. Our experts say they could be worth a few million dollars all together" James said.
"Well I expected more from my top officers in the Kalos region, but it will do for now. Sent the artifacts over to me and I'll have them sold. Now is there anything else to report".
"Actually there is, we encountered 3 trainers there with pokemon that could mega evolve".
"Mega evolve! Did you get any photographs, Giovani wants to know more about Mega evolution. I have a series of assignments for each of you to complete. There are pokemon that our scientists are going to need, and components they must have" Marlen said.
"We'll get on it" Isabel said.
"Before we go , we have news on team Flare" Jessie said.
"Good, they are our rivals here. What do you have?".
"We managed to capture one of their grunts at the battle chateau. Also our best little cat burglar managed to steal an artifact he wanted to steal" Earl said. Meowth walked in with the Tear of Reduka in his hands.
"Ta daa!" He said as he lifted it up.
"What is that!?" Merlan said.
"We thought it was just a large Jewel, but after interrogating the Flare grunt we found it is something much more" Duncan said.
"Send it to me so we can keep it safe. You have done well, Giovani will be impressed. So get to work on collecting those pokemon and keep me updated".
"Yes sir?" They all said.
"Well with the things we stole we should all make a reasonable commission from this job" Earl said.
"I think some of us should start tracking down team Flare" Christian said.
"I agree" Isabel said.
"Alright, Christian you take Isabel and Earl. The rest of us will start working on collecting the pokemon and components for mega evolution" James said.
"Sounds good, I wouldn't mind hunting down some pokemon" Duncan said.
That ends chapter 21, yeah a lot of battles in this chapter. Maybe a few too many, I'll try to avoid putting so many battles in one chapter in the future, but I just couldn't make whole other chapter again. So in the next chapter Ash will finally face Grant. As for the new team rocket officers, you will be seeing more of them, some sooner than others. I hope you liked them, I tried to make them more threatening.
