Chapter 26: Arrival and battle
3 days had passed since Ash and Korrina's Lucarios first Mega evolved. The group was back on route to Shalour city and the next Gym. Since Serena caught him, she had spent much of her time trying to nurse her new Absol back to health.
The group was sitting around their campsite just as the sun started to come up. While Ash and Red prepared breakfast Serena was tending to Absol. She sprayed some potion on his burn marks from the electric attacks and gave him a cheri berry to help with the static.
"How are you feeling Absol?" She said.
"Sol" Absol said with a little optimism.
"Great, you'll be all better in no time" Serena said smiling. Ash came over to her and looked at Absol with Pikachu.
"How's he doing?".
"Better now" Serena said.
"You've been taking really good care of him Serena. I'm proud of you" , "Pika".
"Thanks Ash, I just hope he wants to stay with me" Serena said.
"After all you've done for him, no doubt in my mind he wants to stay" Ash said. After breakfast Red took out the map.
"Hmm, guys where are we?" He said. Clemont and Korrina came over to him.
"We're right here?" Clemont said.
"No we're here" Korrina said.
"No no, my mapnav indicates we're around these coordinates" Clemont said.
"Well I live in Shalour city so I know where we are" Korrina said.
"Guys calm down, here's what we'll do. I'll ride Charizard and get an aerial view of where we are" Ash said.
"Good idea" Red said. Ash called over his Charizard who was eating breakfast with the other pokemon. As Charizard got up and walked over Ash turned towards Serena and took her hand.
"Serena why don't you come with me" He said.
"Huh?" She said.
"Riding Charizard is lots of fun, come on" Ash said.
"Ok!" Serena said with some excitement. Charizard turned his head to Braixen and growled something. Braixen turned her head away from Charizard, but looked again and saw her trainer getting on his back behind Ash.
"Come on Braixen I know you want to" Serena said. Braixen looked at Charizard again and slowly walked over to her. Serena put her arms around Ash's waist , as he put his arms around Charizard's neck. Pikachu climbed onto Ash's shoulder as Braixen climbed into Serena's arms.
"We'll be back later" Ash said just before Charizard kicked off the ground into the air.
"I haven't known you guys very long , but Ash and Serena do make a really cute couple" Korrina said watching them ride Charizard together.
"I always knew they'd end up together" Red said.
"Yeah like you two!" Bonnie said putting her arms around both of their necks. Red and Korrina's faces turned red.
Meanwhile Charizard was soaring above the clouds with his trainer and his girlfriend on his back. Serena and Braixen were amazed at the view from where they were.
"This is incredible!", "Braix!".
"I always like coming up here with Charizard. It's a good place to clear the mind" Ash said.
"I don't see Shalour city, maybe we should look somewhere else" Serena said.
"Actually I was hoping we could have some time to ourselves up here. You know seeing as we're constantly with the others" Ash said.
"Well some time to ourselves does sound nice" Serena said hugging him even tighter. Charizard started to descend and pick up speed.
"Hold on" Ash said. Serena tightened her grip around Ash's waist as Braixen held onto Serena.
"Groow!" Charizard roared in excitement as he flew down picking up more speed.
"Having fun yet?" , "Pika!".
"Yes!" Serena shouted as the wind blew against her face.
"Braix!" Braixen shouted as adrenaline filled her body. Charizard continued to fly down until he saw they were coming close to the ground. He re-angled his wings and flew straight forward.
Ash and Serena saw they were over now directly over a coastline. The sunrise filled the water with beautiful colors and pigments.
"It's beautiful" Serena said.
"I knew you'd like it" Ash said. Serena's face turned red as she moved her head forward and kissed Ash's cheek.
Braixen was also amazed at the view from where they were. Charizard noticed her eyes light up and gave a slight growl.
Braixen's face turned red as she looked away. Pikachu also noticed this and looked down at Charizard's head.
"Pika", "Groww". After another few minutes of flying Charizard set down on the beach and let the his passengers off. Ash and Serena were resting against Charizard's stomach as he laid down on his side.
Ash and Serena could see Wingull and Pelipper flying above them and some Clauncher by the surf line.
"I'm glad we could have this time alone" Serena said resting her head against Ash's shoulder. Baixen was happy to see her trainer with someone like Ash.
"Groow" Charizard growled. Braixen looked over at his head and blushed a little. Pikachu noticed this and patted her on the back.
"Pika" He said nudging her towards Charizard. Braixen took a deep breath and slowly walked over to Charizard's head. Once she got over to his head, she rested against his neck. Charizard slowly moved his head forward and licked Braixen's back.
"It looks like she's warming up to him again" Ash said.
"I knew she couldn't stay mad at him forever" Serena said. Moments later they heard something in the water. All 5 of them turned to see a small pokemon splashing around in the surf.
The pokemon was a bipedal, blue crocodile with red spines on its back and tail. The spine on its back is larger with additional ridges. Its head is large, with ridges above its eyes. Much of the head's size was composed of its snout and strong jaws. There were two visible teeth on the tip of its upper jaw, and two rows of three teeth on each side of its lower jaw. On its chest was a yellow, somewhat V-shaped pattern that extended to its arms with a line bisecting the pattern. It had five sharp claws and three toes. Its eyes are red and surrounded by a dark blue or black pattern.
"What is that?" Serena said opening her pokedex.
"Totodile the Big jaw pokemon. Its highly developed jaw is so powerful, it can crush practically anything. Trainers beware: this Pokémon loves to use its teeth."
"A Totodile in Kalos?" Ash said.
"Toto dile!" The Totodile said as he danced around in the water.
" He's so cute!" Serena said.
"I don't know why he's here. But he's a rare pokemon for Kalos, I'm going to catch him" Ash said as he got up.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" . Pikachu quickly got up and unleashed a powerful bolt of electricity. When the Totodile saw this he quickly dove into the water as the Thunderbolt hit the sand.
"Shoot, we'll have to wait for him to come back up" Ash said.
"Why not just shock the water, it will certainly get him" Serena said.
"Yeah but I don't want to fry every pokemon in the surf" Ash said.
"Right" Serena said sweat dropping. PIkachu watched carefully ,waiting for Totodile to come back up. A few seconds later the Totodile jumped up and blasted a Water gun at Pikachu.
"Pikachu look out!". Pikachu jumped out of the way avoiding the Water gun. Ash wasn't quite as lucky. The Water gun hit Ash right in the face , knocking him down. The Totodile laughed as he saw Ash get knocked down.
"Ash are you ok?" Serena said. Ash got up and gave his neck a crack.
"Alright, now I'm really going to catch him. Pikachu get ready to use quick attack" Ash said.
"Pika!" Pikachu said with his cheeks sparking. Moments later , the Totodile came out of the water and blasted a Watergun at Pikachu. Pikachu, however, was ready. He sprinted forward and slammed into Totodile. The Quick attack knocked Totodile out of the water and onto the sand.
Pikachu ran forward to finnish him off, but Totodile wasn't ready to give up just yet. He got up and Slashed Pikachu across the face with his claws.
"Pikachu!" Ash said. Pikachu got up and growled at the Totodile. The Totodile jumped up and down before running forward with his jaws held open.
"Iron tail!" Ash shouted. Pikachu slammed his tail into the sides of Totodile's jaws , hurling him back.
"Thunderbolt!", "Pika Chu!" Pikachu shouted as he blasted the Totodile with electricity,
"Dile!" Totodile cried as electricity filled his Totodile fell over onto the sand.
"Pokeball go!" Ash shouted as he turned his hat backwards. The pokeball hit Totodile and sent him inside. The pokeball shook and rattled for a minute before sparkling.
"Alright I caught him!" , "Pika!".
"Great job , you've got a water type" Serena said walking over with Braixen and Charizard
"I do, come out Totodile" Ash said. He let his Totodile out and onto the beach.
"Hello Totodile welcome to the family" Ash said. The Totodile looked around at Pikachu, Charizard, Braixen, and the two humans.
"Wow you're really cute" Serena said as she knelt down in front of him.
"DIle!" Totodile shouted before blasting Serena's face with water. Totodile began happily dancing around as Serena got up completely soaked.
"That wasn't very nice" She said glaring at Totodile. Braixen and Charizard laughed a little.
"At least he didn't breathe fire on you" Ash said looking at Charizard. Moments later Totodile blasted Ash with Water gun.
"Toto!" He said happily dancing around.
"He's certainly a high spirited one" Serena said.
"He's certainly going to be fun to train" , "Pika" Pikachu said nodding. As Ash watched Totodile dance around he noticed that there was a small white device on his tail.
"Hey what's that?" Ash said as he knelt down and looked at his tail. Totodile turned his snout over to his tail and nudged against the device.
"I wonder who put this on you" Ash said. Totodile nudged his snout against the device again.
"I think he wants it off" Serena said.
"Pikachu see if you can give it a small zap" Ash said. Pikachu came forward and zapped the device, making the magnetic lock break and the device to fall off.
"Dile!" Todotile said as he jumped around happily.
"That's better" Ash said.
"Grooww" Charizard growled while nodding. 20 minutes later Red saw Ash and his Charizard flying towards them.
"Hey they're back" Red said. Charizard landed in the camp and let his passengers off.
"There you guys are, did you find Shalour city?" Red said.
"You won't believe it, I caught a new pokemon" Ash said as he let his new Totodile came out.
"Toto dile!" he shouted as he danced around.
"Awwe he's so cute!" Bonnie said running over towards him.
"A Totodile? In Kalos?" Korrina said.
"Where did you find him?" Red said.
"Down by the coast" Serena said.
"I finally have a water type pokemon" Ash said.
"Wait , did you even look for Shalour city?" Red said.
"Well" Ash said as he and Serena sweatdropped.
"Just great little bro, alright I'll find it this time" Red said as he let his Charizard out.
"I'll come with you , I do know this area well" Korrina said. The two got onto Charizard's back as he kicked off the ground and into the air.
"Why would a Totodile be at the coast of Kalos?" Clemont said.
"I don't know, I was pretty confused too. But It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up" Ash said.
"Toto dile! Totodile shouted before blasting Clemont with a Watergun. Bonnie laughed a little.
"Why did he do that?" Clemont said.
"He's got a lot of spirit" Ash said sweat dropping. Meanwhile up in the air, Red and Korrina were looking for Shalour city.
"If we keep heading north we should find it" Korrina said.
"Alright keep heading that way Charizard" Red said pointing north.
"So Korrina, are you excited?" Red said.
"About what?".
"Becoming an Aura Guardian. You Mega evolved your Lucario".
"Right. I'm really excited, I've been dreaming about being an Aura Guardian ever since I was a little girl. Now I'm finally going to be made a full member of the brotherhood".
"Well I'm happy for you, it must be a great honor" Red said.
"Red, have you and Ash ever considered becoming Aura Guardians?" Korrina said.
"What?" Red said.
"You can clearly feel Aura. Plus from what I've heard, you'd only require a little more training to become full members of the order. Why not stay at Shalour city with my grandfather and I. Then you guys can become Aura Guardians to" Korrina said slightly blushing.
"Well, to be honest. Ever since Ash and I started training with Felix all those years ago, I always wondered what it would be like being an Aura Guardian. But the thing is, now I've started my journey as a pokemon trainer. I can't just stop everything and finnish my training. I couldn't do that to my pokemon".
"Oh, I understand" Korrina said sounding disappointed. After another few minutes Shalour city came into sight.
"There it is" Korrina said. The city was based on a coastline with a small island connected a few hundred meters off the beach connected to the mainland by a thin strip of land.
On the island was a large tower with a symbol of black Spade on the front.
"Is that the Tower of Master?" Red said.
"It is! My grandfather raised me there" Korrina said.
"Well we should probably head back and tell the others" Red said. After the two of them returned to the camp.
A few hours later they reached the edge of Shalour city.
"Finally, we made it" Clemont said.
"First things first, let's get to the pokemon center" Serena said.
"Sounds good" Ash said. The group made their way through the streets towards the pokemon center. Once inside they sat down after giving their pokemon to nurse Joy.
"So now that we're here, we should talk about our gym battles" Ash said.
"Right, well here's the thing. I don't usually use Lucario for gym battles. But I think I'll make an exception here. One of you two can face Lucario in a one on one match. While the other gets to face my gym leader team" Korrina said.
"Well I could have my Lucario face yours. Then again I do want to give more than just one of my pokemon a chance to battle" Ash said.
"I'll face your Lucario Korrina. My Charizard can Mega evolve so we can have a Mega Evolution battle" Red said.
"That sounds great!" Korrina said.
"Well look who's here" A familiar voice said. The group turned to see none other than Gary standing behind them.
"Gary? What are you doing here?" Ash said.
"I told you I was coming here to check out the Tower of Mastery. My grandpa's already over there" Gary said.
"Professor Oak is here!" Ash and Red said.
"Yeah, he's with the guy who runs the place".
"Alright I can't wait to see him again" Ash said.
"By the way have you gotten that Charizard of yours under control yet, or is he still out of control" Gary said. Not a moment later, Nurse Joy came over with their pokeblls and Pikachu.
"Your pokemon are all on fine condition" Nurse Joy said. She gave each of the trainers their poke balls back until she reached Serena.
"Your Absol is doing fine, but I would suggest letting him get some more rest before he tries to battle again". After Nurse Joy walked away Ash got up and took Charizard's Pokeball. He looked back at Gary and let Charizard out.
When the large fire lizard saw Gary he lowered his head towards him and let a puff of smoke out of his nostrils. The frightened Gary so much that he stumbled backwards onto the ground.
Ash and Pikachu laughed a little before telling Gary that Charizard wasn't out of control anymore.
"Well I need to get back to the Tower of Mastery, my Grandpa is expecting me there by noon" Gary said before leaving the Pokemon center.
"I wish I could start training with Absol, I want to become closer with him" Serena said holding his pokeball.
"Don't worry Serena, he'll be fully healed soon. Besides you saved his life and have been nursing him back to health. I'm sure he already likes you" Ash said.
"Well now that our pokemon are checked out, we should head on over to the Tower of Mastery" Red said.
"Yes , I can't wait for my Grandfather to see Lucario with his Lucarionite!" Korrina said full of excitement. The group made their way to the beach and across the land bridge. Ash and the others were amazed when they saw the tower of mastery.
"This place looks amazing" Ash said.
"Just wait until you see the inside" Korrina said. At the top of the tower was a balcony overlooking the entire city. Two men were standing on top of the balcony watching the group below.
"Korrina has returned, which means she has the Lucarionite" Gurkin said.
"Looks like your Granddaughter is going to be made a full member of the brotherhood" Felix said.
"It does, I'm so proud of her. It appears she hasn't come alone Felix. Looks like you were right they did come here" Gurkin said.
"It's time I finnish their training" Felix said.
"I wish you luck on that old friend. But I'm telling you, they deserve to know the truth" Gurkin said.
"When the time is right , when the time is right" Felix said. Once the group got inside they saw the interior of the tower was just as impressive. In the center was a massive statue of a Mega Lucario, around the sides were huge sets of staircases that extended from the bottom to the very top of the tower.
"Woah" Ash said amazed at the interior of the tower. Serena saw 3 people standing by a door at the base of the statue. One of them was Gary, the second was an older man wearing a white lab coat. The third was a tall man wearing a black and red suit. He had long and spiky red hair that extended into a goatee around his entire chin.
"Hey who are those guys with Gary?" Serena asked. Ash and Red looked over and saw them. They recognized the man in the lab coat as Professor Oak, but they didn't know who the third man was.
"That's professor Oak in the lab coat but I don't know who the other man is" Ash said.
"Professor" Red said loud enough for them to hear him. Oak turned towards the entrance and saw the group standing there.
"Well well, looks who's here. Gary told me you were coming" Oak said. The group walked over to them.
"It's so good to see boys again. How have your journeys been going so far?" Oak said.
"Great professor, we've both got 2 badges and five pokemon" Red said.
"I've got six as of this morning" Ash said.
"Right" Red said.
"Well I see you've made some new friends" Oak said.
"Hello I'm Clemont the Lumoise city gym leader. This is my sister Bonnie" Clemont said.
"Hi! Nice to meet you" Bonnie said.
"Nice to see you again after all these years professor" Serena said. Oak turned to her.
"Well you do look familiar young lady , but I can't quite remember who you are?" Oak said.
"Serena, I went to summer camp with Red and Ash".
"Oh yes, Serena! It has been some time, you've certainly grown into a lovely young lady" Oak said.
"Ash certainly thought so, he's dating her" Red said.
"What?" Oak said.
"It's true" Serena said as she took Ash's hand.
"Oh dear, how rude of me. I'd like to introduce you to my new friend, Lysandre".
"Pleasure to meet you" Lysandre said in a very well educated accent as he extended his hand forward.
"Nice to meet you to Lysandre" Ash said shaking his hand.
"Lysandre is also a Pokemon researcher who's interested in learning about Mega evolution" Oak said.
"We heard from Gary you came here looking to find out more about Mega Evolution" Red said.
"Yes, but that's not the only reason I'm here. I also wanted to do a brief study on pokemon being introduce to new environments, and how well they can adapt. Why just the other day when I got here, I released a wild Totodile that I brought with me into the coastline. I put a small tracking device on it so I can find him later to see how he's doing" Oak said.
"A Totodile, on the coast of Kalos" Ash said as he and Serena sweat dropped.
"Unfortunately this morning, the tracker seemed to stop working for some reason" Oak said.
"Well professor maybe you should have caught the Totodile, that way some trainer can't catch him" Red said looking at Ash.
"Speaking of caught pokemon. I would very much like to see your pokemon" Oak said.
"Well this is Pikachu, my first pokemon" Ash said as Oak saw Pikachu on Ash's shoulder.
"PIkachu" Pikachu said smiling.
"Wait I recognize you" Oak said as he came closer.
"Yes you're the Pikachu I gave to Sycamore. The one who hates being in Pokeballs" Oak said.
" Yeah Sycamore let me choose him as my first pokemon" Ash said.
"Well I can see you two are getting along well. I'm surprised, when I first met this little guy he didn't like humans very much" Oak said.
"Why don't we so you the rest of our pokemon" Red said as he let all of his pokemon out. At the same time Ash and Serena let their other 5 pokemon out.
"Amazing" Oak said as he looked around at their pokemon.
"Dinosaurs, Kalos pokemon, and Charizards. Wait you both have a Charizard?" Oak said.
"Well Charizard was my first pokemon from professor Sycamore" Oak said.
"He gave away one of the pokemon I sent him to study Mega Evolution?" Oak said.
"He said he didn't need them anymore and we could pick one. I always wanted a Charmander for a starter" Red said.
"Wait then where did you get your Charizard?" Oak said turning to Ash.
"Well I" Ash started before Oak looked at his Charizard closer.
"Wait, I recognize him too. Yes, I gave him to one of my trainers when he was a Charmander. Damian was the boy's name" Oak said. Upon hearing that name, Charizard growled.
"Let me tell you how Charizard became my pokemon" Ash said. Ash told him the entire story.
"He what!?" Oak said sounding both surprised and angry.
"Geeze that's low" Gary said just as disgusted after hearing what Damian had done.
"That trainer is a disgrace. He doesn't deserve to have pokemon" Lysandre said. He walked over to the pokemon and petted Amaura across the head.
"Pokemon are beautiful creatures that only make the world a beautiful place. So many people take advantage of them, disrespect them, treat them like they're just tools. Like that team rocket. People like that make me wish I could reshape the world, get rid of everyone like that" Lysandre said.
Ash and he others almost got creeped out by how deep Lysandre's words went.
"Hey , professor have you seen my Grandfather?" Korrina said.
"Oh yes Gurkin. He told us to wait down here while he took care of something" Oak said.
"Sorry to keep you all waiting" An older voice said. Ash and the others saw an older looking man walking down the paths. He was tall with gray eyes and while hair that came down across his temples like small tails. The rest of his head was mostly bald except a small strip of hair right down the center. He wore a gray and red work out suit that had a black spade on the left chest area.
"Ah Korrina there you are. I was wondering when you'd return" Gurkinn said.
"Grandpa!" Korrina said. She ran over and hugged him as he reached the ground floor.
"We did it grandpa, we found Lucarionite!" Korrina said.
"You did!" Gurkinn said. He looked over at Korrina's Lucario and saw a large red wrist holder with Lucarionite in it.
"You did it! Oh Korrina I'm so proud of you!" Gurkinn said lifting her up.
"I didn't do it alone, Ash and the others helped me find it".
"Really, well thank you for helping her" Gurkinn said.
"It was no problem, besides if it weren't for her I wouldn't gave gotten Lucarionite for my Lucario" Ash said.
"Wait a minute are you telling my that you're pokemon can Mega evolve!" Gary nearly shouted.
"Yeah Korrina showed us how to Mega evolve our pokemon" Red said.
"I can't believe it! You must show us your Mega evolved pokemon!" Oak shouted.
"Well Red and I were going to have a battle between our pokemon that can Mega evolve. Would you like to watch?" Korrina said.
" That would be great. We could learn so much" Oak said.
"You two can battle on the balcony atop the tower. Follow me" Gurkinn said. He led them up the staircase to the top of the tower. The balcony was very large, and overlooked the entire city.
Red stood on one end while Korrina stood on the other end. The rest of the group watched from the side as Gurkinn stepped between them.
"This match will be a one on one battle. Whoever knocks out their opponent's pokemon is the winner" Gurkinn said. Unknown to everyone but Gurkinn, another man was standing on the top of the tower with his Lucario beside him.
"I finally get to see them use Mega Evolution" Felix said. His Lucario turned to him and nodded while giving him an Aura message.
"I won't go easy on you" Red said.
"Good" Korrina said before giving him a wink.
"Huh" He said as his face turned red for a moment.
"Begin" Gurkinn said.
"I choose you, Charziard!" Red shouted as he threw Charizard's pokeball forward. Charizard came out and roared as he landed on the ground.
"We can do this, Lucario". Korrina's Lucario came out and took a fighting stance against Charizard.
"Now the fun part" Gurkinn said.
"Here we go!" Red said as he touched the stone on his glove. A colorful sphere formed around Charizard as he grew bigger. When the glowing stopped , Charizard had Mega evolved into Mega Charizard X.
"Grooww!" He roared as blue fire flew from his mouth.
"Let's do this!" Korrina said as she touched the stone on her glove. Moments later Lucario transformed into Mega Lucario.
"Grauuw!" Mega Lucario roared.
"Woah!" Gary said.
"It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen!" Oak said.
"Truly amazing" Lysandre said.
"Here we go, Charizard fly into the air and use Flamethrower!" Red shouted. Charizard X quickly flew into the air and unleashed a massive jet of blue fire down at Lucario.
"Lucario use Extremespeed into Bone rush" Korrina said. Mega Lurcario sprinted forward with incredible speed, easily avoiding the fire coming down at him. After he reached the other side of the battlefield , Lucario leapt up into the air at Charizard with a massive blue bone shaped collection of aura in his hands.
"Dragon claw!" Red shouted. Charizard X's Claws glowed violet as he met Lucario's bone head on. Because they were in the air, Charizard X was able to get more force behind his attack. Mega Lucario was hurled into the ground, but landed on his feet.
"Lucario, use Aura sphere".
"Charizard, dodge and use Air slash". Charizard X quickly flew down towards Lucario also preparing to dodge Aura sphere.
"Wait!" Korrina said as Lucario gathered his Aura into his hands.
"Now onto the ground!" Korrina shouted. Lucario blasted the ground with Aura.
"What?" Red said. Charizard X was equally confused as he flew into the cloud of Aura. Korrina smiled as she took a deep breath and her eyes glowed blue for a moment.
"Wait is she?" Red said. Lucario leapt up and over the cloud of Aura as Charizard X tried to find Lucario in it. Without getting a verbal command from Korrina, Lucario came down and slammed Charizard X in the back with Bone rush.
"Charizard!" Red shouted.
"How did she do that?" Gary said.
"I don't know, but it was incredible" Lysandre said.
"Ash how did she do that?" Serena said.
"I think she gave him a command through the connection between their Aura" Ash said.
"Can you do that?" Serena said.
"Well Felix did teach us about using Aura but we never got that far" Ash said.
"Power-Up punch!" Korrina said.
"Charizard turn around and use Dragon claw" Red said. Charizard X tried to get up , but Lucario was already on top of him. Thus he was easily able to smash his fist into the back of Charizard X's neck. After he hit Charizard X, Lucario started to glow red as his power increased.
"Dam that won't work, wait his back!" Red said.
"Keep the pressure on him Lucario use Bone-rush" .
"Steel Wing!" . Charizard X quickly used his wings to block the Bone-rush as he swung his bone down at Charizard X. The Steel in his wings kept Charizard safe from the Bone rush as it slammed into his wings.
"Strike back!" Charizard X quickly swung around and slammed his other wing into Lucario, knocking him back.
"Flamethrower!". Charizard X opened his mouth and engulfed Lucario in a jet of blue fire. Lucario X was hurled back by the force.
"Lucario use your heels to dig in!" Korrina shouted. Lucario quickly dug in with his heels , allowing him to reduce the effect of the blast.
"Aura sphere into Extremespeed". Lucario gathered his Aura and unleashed it in front of him. The Aura tore through the flames and smashed into Charizard X's face. Before he could even recover, Lucario sprinted forward and smacked into Charizard X. This knocked him back even further.
"Power-up Punch".
"Air Slash!". Charizard X snarled as he caught himself with his feet. He then forced himself up and forward. Lucario tried to hit Charizard X with his Power-up Punch, but using Air slash Charizard X was able to move with more speed and power. He slashed Lucario across his chest.
"Perfect! Now get some Altitude and blast him with Flamethrower". Charizard X flew into the air and opened his mouth as his tail flame grew larger.
Korrina smiled as she gave Red another wink. This caught Red's attention as he saw her eyes glow blue again. Mega Lucario roared as he gathered his aura and blasted it on the ground in front of him. Moments later he hurled himself up and into the air , covered in blue aura.
This allowed him to easily fly through the Flamethrower and began smashing his fists into Charizard X as fast as he could.
"Oh no, not again" Red said.
"Close combat, this could be it" Gary said.
"Come on Red, you can still do this" Ash shouted. Red grit his teeth as he watched his Charizard X take the Close combat.
"She's in too good sync with her Lucario. How am I suppose to beat her" Red said. Not a moment later he felt a familiar presence. It was an Aura, a very familiar Aura. It was like the Aura was trying to tell him something. He was able to make out what it was saying.
"Never give up until the end. Never". Red looked up at Charizard with determination and took a deep breath. His eyes glowed blue as he connected with Charizard X's aura. Charizard X felt his trainer's Aura connect with his own.
Charizard X was on the brink of fainting when he felt his trainer's Aura connect with his own. When the two Aura's connected, Charizard X felt more inspired knowing how close he and his trainer were at that moment. He grit his teeth and faced his attacker by snatching Lucario's arms before he could strike again.
"Huh?" Korina said.
"Dragon claw!" Red screamed. Charizard X roared as his claws glowed violet and he slashed Lucario across the face. When Lucario hit the ground , the flame on Charizard X's tail nearly exploded as it covered his entire body in blue flames.
"What is that?" Serena said.
"It's Flare Blitz. He just learned Flare Blitz" Oak said. Felix and his Lucario watched closer as Charizard X covered his body in flames.
"Alright Charizard! Finnish this with Flare Blitz".
"Lucario you can overpower him, use Close combat!" Korrina shouted. Lucario got up and sprinted at forward as Charizard X flew straight down at him. Everyone watched closely as the two pokemon clashed. When the collision ended Charizard X was standing over an unconscious Lucario.
Charizard X looked exhausted but was still on his feet. He looked up and roared in victory.
"We won, we won!" Red screamed as he ran over and hugged Charizard x. Charizard X hugged Red back as he reverted back into his normal form.
"He did it" Ash said.
"That was an amazing battle" Serena said.
"One of the best I've ever seen" Oak said.
"It was magnificent" Lysandre said.
"Those Mega evolution pokemon are insane. I've got to get one" Gary said. Korrina walked over to her Lucario and helped him get up as he returned to his normal form.
"I'm very proud of you Lucario. You battled like a champion" She said.
"Grauuw" Lucario said. Korrina turned over to Red as he turned to her.
"That was one of the greatest battles I've ever had" Korrina said.
"Same here, you're a great trainer Korrina. I can already tell that Ash has his work cut out for him" Red said. Gurkinn walked over to them looking proud.
"You both battled very well. You are clearly worthy of Mega Evolution, congratulations" Gurkinn said as he opened his hand and moved it towards Red. Inside his hand was a badge shaped like a boxing glove.
"You've earned the Rumble badge" Gurkinn said.
"We did it Charizard" Red said as he took the badge and showed it to him. Above them , Felix smiled as he watched Red take the badge. He was very proud of how Red battled. After a trip to the pokemon center, Oak, Gary, and Lysandre were preparing to depart.
"It was great seeing you again professor" Ash said.
"It was a treat seeing you again to. I'll still be in Kalos for a few more months so perhaps we can meet up again sometime" Oak said.
"Sounds great" Red said.
"Well I better go, my fan club is waiting for me" Gary said as he walked out of the tower.
"See you kids later, have a wonderful journey" Oak said as he walked out.
"It's been a pleasure meeting you and seeing your pokemon. People like you are hard to come by these days. The beauty of the world is beginning to fade because of that" Lysandre said before he walked out.
"He's certainly interesting" Serena said sounding a little scared. Korrina and the others turned back towards the stairs where they saw Gurkinn wearing a blue hooded robe with a black spade symbol on the shoulder. The robe was extremely similar to the one Felix had always worn, except it had a slightly different design. Standing next to him was a large Lucario.
"Well now that we're alone, I think it's time for the ceremony" Gurkin said.
"Ceremony?" Red said.
"Follow me?" Gurkinn said. He led them to the top of the tower where a dozen candles lit up the balcony. They also saw another man wearing a hooded robe and a cloth over his mouth, with a Lucario next to him.
"Ah Gurkinn everything is set up" The man said as he turned to them. Ash and Red easily recognized his voice and his Lucario.
"Felix is that you?" They said together. Felix lowered his hood and the cloth on his mouth.
"Hello boys, it's good to see you again" Felix said.
"Wait this is the man who you are always talking about?" Clemont said.
"This is Felix" Ash said.
"Nice to see you again" Serena said.
"Serena, good to see you to" Felix said.
"What are you doing here?" Ash said.
"Two reasons really, one is to help Gurkinn with Korrina's induction ceremony" Felix said.
"My induction!" Korrina said.
"Take out your Lucario and your Mega evolution stone" Gurkinn said. Korrina let her Lucario out and took the stone off her glove. Gurkinn lead Korrina over to the edge of the balcony as Felix walked over to them with a book in one hand and small wooden box in the other.
Felix handed the book to Gurkinn. The book had the symbol of the black spade on it with the word "Reduka" written across it.
"Place your right hand on the book" Gurkinn said. Korrina placed her hand on the book as her Lucario did the same.
"Korrina , Lucario. Do you swear that you will uphold the ways and the customs of the Aura Guardians?" Gurkinn said.
"I do" Korrina said as Lucario nodded.
"Do you swear that you will stand up for and protect the innocent people and pokemon of the world who are in need?".
"I do".
"Do you swear that you will stay true and faithful to the brotherhood, never betray us or our ways?".
"I do".
"Do you swear to never abuse or miss use the power of Aura that you have been blessed with?".
"I do"
"Do you swear to honor and trust in the legendary pokemon before us ?" Gurkinn said.
"I do".
"Finally, do you swear true allegiance and faithfulness the Reduka the creator of life. Our eternal father and Guardian"
"Reduka?" Serena said.
"Who's that?" Ash said just as confused.
"I do" Korrina said.
"Korrina , my beloved granddaughter. As a senior member of the Aura guardians I hereby welcome you as a full member of the brotherhood" Gurkin said. Felix opened the box revealing two wrist blades. Korrina's eyes widened as Gurkinn took her Mega evolution stone and put it in a holder on the right wrist blade holder.
"These will mark you as an Aura guardian" Gurkinn said. Korrina slowly put the wrist blades on and then let the blades come out and over her palms.
"We did it Lucario! We're Aura Guardians!" Korrina said as she nearly lifted her Lucario of the ground in her arms.
"She did it, she's an Aura guardian" Red said sounding proud. Ash and Felix noticed the way Red looked at Korrina. His face had a lot of emotion in it. Korrina came back over to the group with her Lucario.
"Thank's you guys for everything. You helped us fulfill our dream" Korrina said.
"Well, it was nothing we wouldn't do for a friend" Red said. Serena easily noticed the two of them trying to hide blushes.
"Pathetic" She thought to herself. Felix walked over to them with his Lucario.
"Ash , Red. There is another reason I came here. You two never finished your training, I'm here to complete your training" Felix said.
"What!?" They both said.
" Yes, I always intended on you two being Aura guardians. You are only a year away from training. But if I travel with you and train you now, I could make you full Aura guardians".
"Really!" Korrina said with a hint of excitement.
"So you want to travel with us, and finnish our training" Ash said.
"Yes, I won't travel with you on a day to day basis. But occasionally , show up to give your a day of training. I promise I won't interfere with your fun journey. Just give you daily training secessions to complete your training" Felix said.
"Well I suppose if you put it that way, I always did wonder what it would be like as an Aura Guardian. Ash are you in?" Red said.
"Of course I am, but I can do this without asking PIkachu first. Buddy should we do this?".
"Pika!"Pikacu said nodding.
"Excellent, we'll start tomorrow morning" Felix said.
Yeah I know some of you might have wanted to see Ash's Mega Lucario face Korrina's, but hey the story is far from over.

For those of you have read my other story, you probably know who Reduka is. For those who haven't you'll find out eventually.
I have noticed that some of you want another Ash and Serena date. Well I'm sorry the last few chapters haven't focused mainly on those two, but I had to give Red and Korrina time. I do promise you that Ash and Serena will have another date alone before the next gym battle, after Korrina of course.
Also as for Totodile, yeah you probably weren't expecting that but to be honest I wanted Ash to get a water type and not only was Totodile my favorite water type that Ash had, but I really don't like the new water type pokemon from Kalos. Sorry but I just don't. As for squirtle, I'm saving him the sequel.
I do promise that Ash will catch more than 6 pokemon and most of them will be new Kalos pokemon
