Chapter 31:Reduka the creator of life
It was late in the evening and Felix had already been training with his students all day. They started with a brutal 2 hour pt session. Then moved onto some aura training, some guardian skills like eavesdropping and tailing. Then moved on to concealment training and hand to hand combat. Now they were doing some battle practice.
"Tyrunt Ancient power".
"Gogoat leaf blade". Gogoat sprinted forward as Tyrunt's eyes glowed violet and 6 rocks lifted up around him. Using his Leaf blade, Gogoat slashed clean through all of the incoming boulders.
"Tyrunt move back then swipe low with Dragon tail".
"Jump Gogoat!". As Tyrunt moved back and swiped his tail across the ground , Gogoat leapt up and over Tyrunt's tail before slashing him across the face. Tyrunt lunched back a foot as Gogoat prepared to charge.
"Tyrunt use Ancient power in his path".
"Gogoat Leaf blade each of those rocks into Double edge" . Gogoat leapt forward and slashed each of the boulders in half before coming at Tyrunt with his horns held low.
"Tyrunt to the side then put him in your jaws" Just before Gogoat could reach Tyrunt with his horns , the dinosaur lurched back as Gogoat's head went past him. Tyrunt opened his massive jaws and scooped Gogoat inside.
"Oh no!" Red shouted. Gogoat squirmed as he tried to break free from Tyrunts jaws. Tyrunt responded by shaking Gogoat around until he was dizzy.
"Hurl him and then use Earthquake!" Tyrunt snarled as he whipped Gogoat across the grass before leaping into the air and creating a ground quake on impact. Just as Gogoat tried to get up he was hit with Earthquake and knocked out.
"Alright we won Tyrunt!".
"Graww!". Red walked over and helped his Gogoat up.
"You did your best Gogoat". While his students battled, Felix and his Lucario watched them. They leapt down from the tree they were in and approached the brothers.
"So how did we do?" Ash said.
"I've noticed that there is a large mistake that you've both been making since we began training. Can either of you tell me what it is?".
"Uh, we didn't call out a counter strategy fast enough" Red said.
"No, that's exactly the problem. You are calling out counter strategies. This isn't an aura guardian thing, it's a common pokemon trainer thing. Red why did you tell your Gogoat to jump up and use Leaf blade?".
"Because I knew Tyrunt was going to sweep low".
"Ash why did you tell your Tyrunt to move to the side?".
"I knew Gogoat was coming in with momentum".
"How did you both know these things?". Ash and Red looked a little disappointed in themselves.
"Your pokemon need to be familiar with your own counter strategies and defenses for them. If you have a new strategy, then talk to them via aura message".
"I guess you have a point" Ash said.
"That's something you're going to have to work on, I would also tell it to your friends. I've seen them do it too. Now for the rest of the training session I will be giving you an academic lesson on the aura guardians". Ash and Red both sat down with their pokemon as Red took out the same book he took out at Korrina's initiation ceremony.
"The first thing you need to learn if you're going to be Aura guardians is the origin of life".
"The origin of life?" Red said.
"In the beginning there was one being that existed, a pokemon named Reduka the creator of life" Felix showed them a picture from the book. The picture was a very old sketch of a pokemon. The pokemon looked massive with blue, red, and gold skin, with massive wings shaped similar to Zekoroms. The pokemon had jaws like a Tyrantrum and massive claws over 6 feet long.
"Reduka had the ability to create and control matter, space, time, and even organic life. He also possesses a wisdom far greater than that of any man. Reduka created the world as it is to house his children, the first forms of life, to which he created in his own image. These were first pokemon in ancient times, the dinosaur pokemon" Felix said.
"Graww" Tyrunt said in interest.
"Reduka wanted his children to flourish, but felt if he interfered with them to help , that he would only make them reliant on him. So he simply watched over them as they lived on the earth. He watched over them for countless years , but to sorrow the pokemon began dying out from the earth's harsh conditions in its early years".
"So that's why pokemon like Tryunt and Aerodactly went extinct" Ash said.
"Exactly, and when all life on earth was nearly extinct Reduka had enough. He created the first legendary pokemon like Arceus, Groudon, Kyogre, and Mew. These legendary pokemon eventually gave birth to the other legendary pokemon. The legendary pokemon were created to change the earth's surface to make it more hospitable to the pokemon. Other legendary pokemon were meant to guard space, time, and the safety of the pokemon" Felix said as he showed them early sketches of each legendary pokemon.
"Woah that's amazing" Red said.
"The Guardians of life were pokemon like Mew, Arceus, Cresellia, Rayquaza, Yvelta, and Xerneas, were sent to each region to protect the life that lived there. While legendaries like Groudon and Kyogre were sent to protect the earth and sea".
"As time went by, the legendary pokemon helped the population of the earth recover to a more stable state. When it had, Reduka recalled the legendary pokemon so that the regular pokemon wouldn't grow reliant on them. As time went by Reduka began to see a population of pokemon grow more intelligent than the others. These pokemon were called the Arceons" Felix said showing them a sketch of a pokemon. The Arceons seemed to slightly resemble a Lucario, only they had redish-pale skin and very human like features and body types.
"Arceons were fighting type pokemon that could use Aura like Lucario. As time passed the Arceons began to develope the use of tools and technology. They also began to learn agriculture which allowed their population to grow and spread out farther in the world. As time passed they relied less and less on the use of their pokemon abilities and Aura. This unfortunately led to conflict. As the Arceons grew more intelligent and relied less on their abilities as pokemon and became more alienated from other life on earth. Eventually they began to fear pokemon ".
"Fear them why?" Ash said.
"Arceons became less attuned to nature , thus whenever they left their villages they were more easily killed off by wild pokemon. That is why the Arceons began to fear wild pokemon. So in order to protect themselves, the Arceons began hunting and killing every pokemon that lived within a range of their villages".
"What!?" Ash and Red both said. Felix showed them sketches of Arceons using spears, and arrows to hunt wild pokemon.
"As the Arceons began to spread their villages further and larger , they killed more and more pokemon across the world but didn't stop there. As different groups of Arceons began to fight amongst each other for land and resources. As the Arceons caused more death and despair across the world, the legendary pokemon begged their father to allow them to intervene. Reduka was uneasy about it, he believed that the Arceons had potential to become a pokemon that could make the world better rather than worse. He denied the Legendary pokemon their request".
"What happened to these Arceons?" Ash said.
"As more time passed , certain clans of Arceons became larger and more powerful than the others. These clans began ravaging the world like never before, destroying countless other Arceon villages , consuming too many natural rescources, and even drove some species of pokemon to near extinction".
"These Arceaons sound like monsters, what happened to them?" Ash said.
"They still roam the earth to this day, you've probably seen one every day" Felix said. It was at that moment all of the pieces were put together for Ash and Red.
"Arceons were humans" Red said.
"Our ancestors yes".
"Then humanity was destroying the earth" Ash said.
"Reduka began to think so too, he was nearly ready to allow the legendary pokemon to destroy all of the Arceons. That was until something happened. A young Arceon who hailed from a small village of Arceon that could still use their aura , changed history".
"How?" Red said. The Arceon was exploring the woods when he found a hurt Riolu. He had been told by his people to fear pokemon. However, he saw the Riolu was just as scared of him as he was of the Riolu. The Arceon came over to the Riolu and could feel the pokemon's aura through his own. He began to realize that the Riolu wasn't so different than he was. So through his knowledge of treating injuries and aura, he was able to heal the Riolu's leg. After that the Riolu was confused, after years pokemon began to fear Arceon's just as much as they feared pokemon yet this Arceon had helped him".
"Pika" , "Graww" Ash's pokemon said very interested.
"Just when the Arceon healed the Riolu, a group of feral raticate saw the Arceon alone and tried to kill him. Normally the Arceon would have been able to defend himself with his Aura. But he was exhausted from using his aura to heal the Riolu. The Raticate began to savagely attack him. He thought it was the end, until the Riolu stepped up and defended him. After a fierce fight, the Riolu was able to force the raticate away".
"They saved each other" Ash said.
"After that day, both saw the other's kind in a different way. Every day the young Arceon left his village and met with the Riolu. Each day the Riolu would show the young Arceon more about how to use his Aura, and the Arceon would help the Riolu train and hone his skills".
"He was the first pokemon trainer!" Ash said in amazement.
"His name was Altair, and yes he was the first pokeon trainer" Felix said as he showed them a sketch of a young man wearing a white hooded cloak and a Riolu standing beside him.
"Amazing!" Red said.
"As Altair and his Riolu continued to train they both became stronger and stronger. Until one day Altair's close friend followed him into the wild to see where he always disappeared to . He found Altair training with his Riolu. Normally Arceons thought pokemon to be monsters, so Altair's friend was horrified at what he saw. He was about to run and tell the others , when they were attacked".
"By more wild pokemon?" Ash asked.
"No by other Arceons. These Arceons were part of the ever growing Tull empire, which was responsible for the ravaging of the earth's resources and population. These were scouts who were preparing for an attack on Altair's village. Altair and his Riolu with all of the training they had together , were able to fight off and defeat the Tull scouts and saved Altair's friend. As a result of their victory, Altair's Riolu evolved into a Lucario".
"What did Altair's friend do?".
"He was amazed at how Altair and his Lucario worked together and realized that not all pokemon were evil. Altair explained what he had been doing and that pokemon weren't monsters, but companions. They returned to their village and Altair showed them his Lucario. At first they were afraid , but soon Altair showed them that pokemon were not as the Arceon's believed them to be".
"Altair changed the world" Ash said.
"Exactly, soon the other Arceons in the village went looking for pokemon in the wild and raised the ones they found. Under Altair and his Lucario's guidance, the Arceons and pokemon became companions instead of enemies. With the help of their new pokemon companions, the Arceons were able to flourish and expand their village in ways that didn't strip the land of all its resources or harm the wild pokemon. At the same time, the pokemon were able to live much healthier and longer lives and became more powerful that they ever had before".
"What about the Tulls?" Red said.
"The Tulls sent their armies to capture the village, but with their new pokemon companions and their new Aura abilities that Altair and his Lucario taught them. The warriors and their pokemon were able to repel the Tulls with ease. The Tulls were horrified when they heard Arceons and pokemon living and working together. One by one they sent more of their armies to destroy ever growing village and their pokemon. But every time, they were driven away".
"When humans and Pokemon work together, they always accomplish more" Ash said as he scratched the side of Pikachu's head.
"Altair and his warriors began freeing other villages from Tull control, and then taught them how to train pokemon as companions. The Tulls began to realize that if they couldn't beat Altair, they should do what he did, or at least what they thought they did. They began enslaving pokemon and forcing them to do manual labor and weapons of war".
"You mean they used them like tools against their will!" Red said.
"Exactly, and unfortunately it worked. With pokemon beside them, the Tulls had the numbers and resources to push Altair and his warriors all the way back to their village. Altair and his Lucario didn't know what to do. That was when Altair had a dream. In the dream he was contacted by the dream pokemon Cresellia. She disobeyed Reduka and told Altair who Reduka was and how he had to beseech him for help".
"Did Reduka help him?" Ash said.
"That night , Altair and his Lucario prayed to Reduka , begging for him to give them guidance and the strength to save their people and pokemon from destruction. At first Reduka was outraged at Cresellia for disobeying him, then he realized how joyed he was over the last few years, watching Altair bring Arceons and people together in harmony. According to legend he was so overjoyed that Altair was praying to him, to save his people and their pokemon that he wept tears of joy. The next morning, Altair and his Lucario found 5 gemstones in their room".
"Gemstones?" Ash said.
"Yes, Altair and his Lucario could feel the power of these stones. At first Altair wasn't sure what to do with them until he touched one. Then he suddenly felt everything become clear. He took a pair of rocks from outside his house and gave one to his Lucario. Altair then touched one of the mystical stones to the rock he was holding and the rock his Lucario was holding. The rocks they were holding transformed. Then Altair touched his new stone and his Lucario transformed into the first Mega Lucario".
"So those stones from Reduka turned regular rocks into Mega evolution stones?" Ash said.
"Exactly, using them Altair gave each of his warriors a Mega evolution stone and a component for their pokemon. He also gave his warriors a new weapon he had been working on for a long time. A hidden weapon that could easily be concealed and come out like a striking snake".
"Wrist blades!" Ash said. Felix showed them a sketch of Altair with two blades coming out of his wrists and his Lucario turning into a Mega lucario.
"With their pokemon in Mega form , Altair and his warriors battled the Tull army with everything they had. For days the Tulls tried to break Altair and his warriors , but their fighting skills, Mega pokemon, and Aura powers held out. Unfortunately, the Tulls numbers managed to wear away at Altair's warriors until they were pushed back to the village walls.
Altair and his Lucario beseeched Reduka again, however, when he picked up the same gemstone he felt guidance again on what he needed to do. Altiar and his Lucario walked in front of all of their warriors and confronted the Tull army. He told them to release all of their pokemon and leave. The Tull general laughed and told his men to kill everyone in sight. Altiar and held up the stone as it began glowing. Moments later 3 pokemon came down from the heavens. Mew, Arceus, and Rayquaza. The Tulls and Altair's men had never seen pokemon like that before and didn't know what to think".
"What happened next?".
"The 3 legendary pokemon destroyed the Tull army, freeing all of their pokemon slaves, and sending their pillagers running. After the Tulls were gone Mew, Arceus, and Rayquaza left. In the months that followed, Altair and his warriors dismantled what was left of the Tull empire and brought peace to the world. Altair and his Lucario then dedicated themselves and their warriors to traveling the world. Brining peace and unity between Pokemon and Arceons everywhere".
"So Altair and his Lucario were the founders of the Aura Guardians" Ash said.
"Yes, Altair wasn't just the first pokemon trainer, but the first Aura guardian. He and his Lucario changed the world forever".
"But what about those stones?" Ash said.
"Because the stones came as a result of Reduka's joy , we call them the tears of Reduka. They contain untold power within them. They have the ability to create Mega evolution stones, and at times of great need summon the legendary pokemon". Felix showed them sketches of multiple Aura guardians each with a tear of Reduka.
"Throughout history, many Aura guardians have used the tears of Reduka to halt natural disasters, plagues, famine, and other things". One of the sketches showed an aura Guardian holding a tear of Reduka up as Kyogre halted a tidal wave coming towards a town. Another was of an Aura Guardian holding a tear of Reduka above his head as Mew restored life toa massive field of crops.
"As time passed the Aura guardians and the Legendary pokemon agreed that it would be best if the world was split up into regions. So using the Tears of Reduka, the Aura guardians had the legendary pokemon split the world into different regions. After the world was split into regions, Reduka created more tears for each region. So each legendary pokemon would be assigned to guard over a certain region and could be called upon with the regions tears of Reduka".
"So the stones we found at the mine, Battle château, and Mountain, were tears of reduka" Ash said.
"Exactly".
"That's an amazing story. I can't believe that the Aura Guardians were the first pokemon trainers" Red said.
"It's good that you two understand how the Aura guardians came to be. If you want to be part of our brotherhood you need to understand how we began. Now there is much more history in our brotherhood , but I'll let you two learn that on your own" Felix said as he took out two books similar to his and gave them to his students.
"We've done enough for tonight, rest up. We meet again in 2 days". Later that night Serena was resting in her room at the pokemon center from a long day of training with her pokemon. She felt exhausted from everything she did with her pokemon to prepare them for the upcoming tournament .
The door to her room opened and she saw Ash walk in with Red.
"There you are, how was the all day training session with Felix?".
"Long and hard as always, only this time we got a history lesson on how the Aura guardians began" Ash said.
"Really, that sounds interesting . Mind telling me" Serena said.
"I'm too tired, I'm going to bed" Red said as he fell over on his bunk.
"I can tell you, it really is a good story" Ash said. He went over to her bed and laid down next to her as Pikachu climbed down from his shoulder and laid at the foot of the bed next to Braixen. Ash began to regale everything Felix had told him and Red. From Reduka, to Altiar , to the tears of Reduka.
"So this Reduka is basically god" Serena said.
"Basically".
"That was amazing! I wonder why more people haven't heard of Reduka?".
"It may be the same reason why most people don't know about the Aura Guardians" Ash said.
"Good point" Serena said before yawning.
"I think I'm going to sleep, goodnight Ash" Serena said. Ash felt his own weariness catch up with him as he laid beside Serena. He gave her a kiss on the cheek before trying to get up. However, he was so tired that he simply fell asleep beside Serena with his arm around her.
Author's note:
First and foremost Reduka is not the original pokemon Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyruem once were. Other than the reference to Zekrom those 3 pokemon will NOT be making any appearances in this story. I repeat they will NOT.
I intended on this chapter to also include the next gym battle but opted against it as it would seem like 2 different plots mushed together.
Now the poll is still open for if you want Brock and Misty to travel with Ash and Serena in Kanto. Also keep in mind in the Sequel Ash and Serena will be around 18 where as here they are about 15.
