Chapter 34: The power plant
The wind in the Desert blew harshly, so hard that sand from the ground was lifted up into the air. Serena had to hold her arm over her face to keep the sand out of her eyes. The desert was mostly sand dunes with a few rock formations here and there.
Luckily for the group, there was a rock path that was build to help travelers get from Courmarine city to Lumiose city.
"How much further until we are out of the desert? It's really hot and sandy here" Bonnie said.
"We've still got a long ways Bonnie" Felix said. Because of the harshness of the desert, Felix decided to stay with Ash and the others until they got to Lumoise city.
"Aww, will you carry be brother?".
"Bonnie no I" Clemont started before Bonnie jumped onto his back.
"You know if we're heading back to Lumoise , we should probably stop to see mom and professor Sycamore" Red said.
"Your mother" Felix said sounding almost nervous.
"Yeah I'm sure she'd like to meet the man who's been training us" Ash said.
"Well , there are things in Lumiose city I will need to do. Other Aura Guardians I need to meet. I probably won't have the time".
"Are you sure, we'd love for you to meet her" Red said.
"Maybe , if my meetings with the others are short enough".
"So Clemont, are you ready to face Ash and I" Red said confidently.
"I think so" Clemont said sweat dropping.
"Come on Clemont , be bold. I want our battle to be epic" Ash said. As the group continued through the desert, Ash, Red, and Felix could feel the aura of many of the wild pokemon was uneasy. Not a moment later they saw several Trapinch quickly running past them.
"What's going on with them?" Serena said.
"I'm not sure, but there is something here disturbing these pokemon" Felix said.
"Is there any kind of structure of settlement in the desert?" Red said.
"Well there is a large power station not far from here. It provides power to Lumiose city" Clemont said.
"I thought your gym gave power to Lumiose city?" Ash said.
"It does, to half of it. The rest of it is provided by the power plant here in the desert. It also provides power to much of Kalos".
"Maybe those Trapinch were scared off by the machinery" Serena said.
"That station has been here long enough for the pokemon to grow accustom to it. Something else is going on here" Felix said.
"Maybe they were scared off by another pokemon. I mean we shouldn't just jump to conclusions" Ash said.
"Maybe you're right" Felix said. The group continued down the path until they saw a something ahead of them.
"What is that?" Serena said. The sand in the air made it hard to see too far ahead. Felix , however, could feel that the thing in front of him was a human from his aura. He could also feel that the man was in pain.
Felix sprinted ahead and found a man wearing a power plant uniform , covered in blood and bruises, laying against a rock. When the man saw Felix he turned his head and coughed up blood.
"Please, help me".
"By Reduka" Felix kneeled down next to the man. Ash and the others caught up and saw the man.
"Oh no!" Serena said. They rushed over and came around the man with Felix.
"Give me some water now" Felix said. Red took a bottle of water out of his backpack and handed it to Felix.
Felix opened the bottle and poured some water into the mans mouth. The man seemed very refreshed from the water. Felix then took his right glove off and held his hand over some of the man's wounds. Felix took a deep breath and not a moment later, blue light came from his hand and onto the man's wounds.
Ash and the others were speechless as they saw the wounds begin to fade.
"How are you doing that?!" Red said.
"I already told you, with aura you can do just about anything, Now can you tell me who you are sir?".
"My name is Bill Scattler. I'm a worker at the nearby power plant".
"How did you end up so wounded?".
"It happened 6 days ago, it was just an average day at the plant when some of our excavators who dig in the rocks under the plant said they found a huge source of power. They were't sure what it was, but the next day these people attacked and took control of the plant".
"What people?" Felix said.
"They wore black uniforms with red R's on the chest".
"Team rocket " Ash said.
"yeah that was it. Apparently they wanted the source of power we found under the plant. They held us all hostage while they tried to get to it".
"How did you get out?".
"One of the guards accidentally left the room I was in unlocked. Me and a few of my coworkers tried to run, but we were cut off by one of their teams. They used electric batons and pokemon on us , I was the only one who escaped. But I was badly wounded. I wondered the desert for hours trying to find help. Yesterday night I collapsed from exhaughsten and thought I was going to die".
"We need to stop team rocket, whatever they're after it must be important. Ash , Red , this is a good time to test the skills you've learned so far. I want you to come with me and liberate the plant. Serena I want you and the others to stay here and watch over Bill" .
"But we can help you" Clemont said.
"No it's too dangerous. Ash and Red have the skill sets to handle this".
"But we've faced team rocket many times" Serena said.
"Look I understand you may have beaten them a few times, but team rocket are a dangerous bunch and you shouldn't go looking for confutation with them".
"He's right Serena, if something bad happened to you I'd never forgive myself" He put his arms around her shoulders.
"Please stay here". Serena sighed.
"Alright, we'll stay here with Bill".
"Thank you" Ash said.
"Where is the plant?" Felix said.
"A few miles that way, the entrance is near the edge of a rocky path. But you'll need this pass to get in" Bill said taking out a keycard.
"Alright, let's go" Felix said. Ash, Red, and Felix began moving across the rocky path in the direction of the plant. After 45 minutes, Ash and the others saw a large building in the distance.
"Hey look" Ash said. The sand blowing in the air made it hard for them to see clearly what was ahead of them.
"I think that's the power plant. Which means the entrance can't be far from here" Felix said. The three split up and searched around the rocky path for several minutes before Red found a large doorway, that extended from the ground.
"Hey guys look at this" Red said. Ash and Felix walked over and saw the door.
"Here it is" Felix said as he swiped the card across a panel. A light above the door turned green before the door slowly opened.
"Alright stay close" Felix said as he slowly stepped forward into the doorway. The interior of the hallway was completely black with a few lights on the ceiling. As they continued further into the plant Pikachu could feel the electricity being generated by the machines.
At the bottom of the steps , they entered a much larger hallway with a metal floor and more lit hallway.
"Now that we're inside we need to help the other workers escape. First we should". Felix started when he heard footsteps approaching.
"Conceal yourselves" Felix said. Ash and Red remembered what Felix taught them about concealing themselves. They quickly looked around and saw large air ducts near the ceiling. Ash and Red both scaled the walls using the electrical and metal components on the walls to pull themselves up foot by foot.
Once they reached the top , they each got into and air duct while Felix got into one on the other side of the hall. A minute later they saw a pair of team rocket grunts with electric batons in hand walking down the hallway.
"So how much longer are we stuck in this plant?".
"Don't know , the commander said we'll stay here until he get's that stone".
"What's so important about this dam stone?".
"Apparently executive Marlen thinks these stones are going to help our operations here". When the two rocket grunts were nearly out of sight, Ash heard an Aura message from Felix.
"Tail and eavesdrop on them. See what they know" . Ash quickly but carefully climbed down from the air duct and began following the two grunts.
"How much longer till we can call it a day and head to the break room for some food?".
"You got another 2 hours, I have another 4".
"Another 4 hours? Why 4?".
"I have guard duty".
"Babysitting the prisoners , sorry man". As soon as Ash heard that he began listening closer. Unfortunately, when he took another step forward the metal in the ground creaked.
"What was that?" One of the grunts said. Ash quickly scaled the wall as the two grunts turned around.
"Huh must have been nothing". The two grunts continued down the hallway as Ash climbed down and listened closely to their conversation.
"Have you had guard duty yet?".
"No, I don't even remember where the prisoners are being kept".
"Ever since a few broke out we're suppose to keep them all locked up in the emptied part storage room on level 4".
"Thanks". As soon as Ash heard that he quickly went back towards Felix and Red. They had both climbed down and saw Ash.
"Guys they said that the prisoners are being held in a storage room on level 4".
"You see, that is why you eavesdrop. You an gain so much information from the enemy without them even knowing. If you had simply attacked them, they probably would have never given it up. Or worse raised the alarm. Now I want you to give it a try Red, find a group of rocket grunts and eavesdrop on them, see if you can get any useful information. Ash you come with me, we're going to free those prisoners".
"Alright but where are we going to meet up?" Red said.
"This same hallway, 30 minutes" Felix said. Elsewhere in the desert , Serena and the others were helping Bill walk across the path.
"How much further?" Bill asked.
"We still have a while" Clemont said. Serena was still very uneasy about not being with Ash when he went against team rocket. As they kept walking they saw what looked like a a small pokemon center ahead of them.
"Is that a pokemon center?" Serena said.
"I think it is!" Clemont said.
"Air conditioning!" Bonnie shouted. They hurried towards the pokemon center as quick as they could with Bill. Once they got inside they saw Nurse Joy and her Wigglytuff cleaning up the counter. When she heard the doors open, she turned and saw the group entering the pokemon center.
"Welcome to the pokemon center. It's been while since we've gotten any visitors here" Joy said.
"Nurse Joy we need your help. The nearby power plant has been captured by team rocket" Serena said.
"What?" Joy said.
"It's true, I barely made it out of there alive. Those criminals have all my coworkers held prisoner" Bill said. Nurse Joy saw how hurt Bill was she came and had Wigglytuff get a stretcher.
"Here lay down" She said as Wigglytuff helped bill on the stretcher.
"Alright I'll have a look at you in a minute after I contact the Authorities. Though it's likely the army will have to take care of it" Nurse Joy said. She walked into another room as the Wigglytuff pushed the stretcher into another room.
"Well I guess all we have to do now is wait for the army to come and take care of things" Clemont said.
"I'm not waiting around for the army. I'm going to help Ash now" Serena said.
"What? But he told us to stay away for our own safety" Clemont said.
"Well we've been in plenty of dangerous situations before. Ash should know that we stick together" Serena said.
"Maybe you're right. We should go back there and help them" Clemont said.
"Yeah let's go!" Bonnie said. Clemont and Serena both sweatdropped.
"Uh well Bonnie, we would all go but" Clemont said.
"But uh my Sptritzee is so scared. She needs someone to look after him here" Serena said as she let her Sptritzee out.
"What?" Bonnie said.
"Sptritzee is so scared , that he just needs you to look after him for a while. Right Sptritzee" Serena said. At first Sptritzee was a bit confused, but after a second he realized what Serena was doing.
"Sptritz" He said pretending to be scared.
"Oh you poor thing" Bonnie said as she picked him up.
"I know , I'll let you play with Skitty" Bonnie said as she let her Skitty out.
"Alright we'll be back later" Clemont said. He and Serena quickly left the pokemon center and headed back towards the power plant.
Meanwhile in the power plant, Red was hidden up on a small platform overlooking a reactor room with several walkways around the reactor. There were at least a dozen rocket grunts on the walkways below Red. Next to him was an unconscious team rocket grunt that he knocked out from behind with a choke hold.
Red got as close to the edge of the platform as he could and hung over the side. He saw a few metal bars directly below it and used them to get lower and closer to the walkway where a pair of team rocket grunts were standing.
"How did we end up at this post, there has to be more lucrative opportunities around Kalos then guarding a power plant. I here those guys who poach rare pokemon get to keep some of the profits as a bonus" One of the grunts said.
"True but those guys usually have a higher risk of getting arrested. I heard that over 12 grunts were busted by the Kalos army near Dendemille Town a few days ago".
"Maybe you have a point. Besides from what I hear executive Marlen really wanted this job done".
"That explains why we have two commanders overseeing the operation here".
"Two commanders? I wonder if it's some of those people from that battle Chateau attack" Red said to himself.
"So what is so important about taking this power plant anyway?".
"From what I here, that energy the workers here found under the plant might be coming from a stone that Marlen wants".
"A stone?".
"Yeah apparently it's suppose to be either really valuable, or really powerful"
"A powerful stone? Could it be a Tear of Reduka?" Red said.
"So we were sent to capture this place so Marlen could get his hands on a rock?".
"That's not the only reason. Apparently Marlen also wants us to take control of the machinery controls here so we can shut of the power at will".
"Why?".
"This plant provides power to most of Northern Kalos. If we could take control , imagine what we could do. Any city we wanted to raid or blackmail. We could shut their power right off, think of what could happen".
"Pokemon centers and hospitals could go down. That is motivation for those mayors to pay up. So why don't we have control of the machines yet?".
"The machines have security encryptions on them to keep people like us from shutting them down. So we interrogated the plant manager and apparently to access the machinery controls we need 4 security codes that the managers have".
"But if we have the manager why not get them out of him?".
"Managers, plural. There are four managers of this plant and they always make sure only one is ever at the plant at a time".
"So now what?".
"One of the commanders is over at the machinery control room with the manager and some of our best techs trying to break the codes. Our other commander is in the excavation center below the plant looking for the stone".
"Well all I know is that if this operation goes south then we better get some dam hazard pay". Red took a deep breath and contacted Felix through his Aura.
"Felix can you hear me?".
"I can hear you Red" Felix responded.
"I just eavesdropped on a pair of grunts and found out tons of information. Apparently there might be a tear of Reduka underneath the plant. Plus team rocket is trying to take control of the machinery so they can shut down the plant at will. That way they can ransom the cities of Kalos for millions of dollars".
"That's not good".
"I also learned that they have two commanders here. One is in the control room trying to gain access to the machinery controls. The other is int he excavation area trying to find the Tear of Reduka".
"Alright here's the plan. Red I want you to get to the control room and see if you can stop them from taking control of the machines. Ash and I will recover the tear of Reduka after freeing the hostages. Red if anything goes wrong , tell me immediately and we'll be there in no time".
"Alright got it".
"You have acquired many great skills since we first started training all those years ago Red. I have faith in your abilities" .
"Thanks Felix" Red said. He climbed back onto the ledge when some one grabbed him by the shoulder with one hand and held a blade to his face with the other. It only took Red a moment to realize the blade was a wrist blade and the assailant was wearing hooded robes that seemed very similar to Felix's, only white and red. It was another Aura guardian.
Elsewhere in the plant, Ash and Felix were quickly but quietly moving through the hallways until they reached storage room on level four. Ash and Felix hid behind a corner of the hallway where the entrance to the room was. Felix saw a large walkway above them that lead to a door on the upper-level of the room. There were 3 rocket grunts with electric batons patrolling the hallway on the ground while two grunts guarded the door on the upper walkway.
"Five grunts, if we take them head on they could alert every rocket member in the plant" Felix said.
"So what do we do?" Ash said.
"We use Stealth. I want you to scale the walls and get up to the platform. When I sent you an Aura message I want you to take out the guards up top".
"Take them out? You don't want me to kill them do you?" Ash said with an uneasy tone.
"No of course not. Remember , an Aura guardian only kills when he absolutely has to in self defense or defense of others. The killing of another man should also only be done with a wristblade as it is quick and relatively painless. These rocket grunts are bad people , but they don't deserve to die. I just want you to use a chokehold on them from behind and knock them out. I will make the first move then send you an Aura message. Knock them out and then wait for me".
"Alright" Ash said. Ash started to scale the wall until he was able to pull himself onto the walkway. Once Ash was on the walkway he quickly got behind a corner as one of the grunts looked over towards him. Ash quietly looked around the corner and saw the entrance to the storage room from the walkway had a small room in front of it. The room had a 2 doorways without doors that were separated by a sheet of glass.
Ash saw a there was a lightbulb on each doorway and had an idea. He took a deep breath as he gathered his Aura. He lifted his hand forward and sent a small wave of Aura at the lightbulb. Suddenly the bulb burst into pieces, frightening the two rocket grunts.
"What the hell?" One said as he looked at the bulb case and the other grunt walked towards it. Ash quickly ran across the walkway and got into the room behind the glass before the other grunt could get back to the doorway.
Back on the ground Felix saw the grunt closest to the door turn down and walk towards the other hallway as the other two grunts both walked towards the door. Felix sprinted across the hall and quickly put the first grunt into a chokehold. The man was unconscious in moments. Felix gently set him on the ground then sprinted forward and got the second grunt in a chokehold. Meanwhile on the walkway, Ash heard Felix's Aura message.
He went over to the nearest grunt and put him in a chokehold. At the same time, he quickly gave pikachu a command through their Aura connection. When the second grunt on the walkway heard his partner being choked , he turned just in time to see Pikachu unleash Thunderbolt. The electricity quickly engulfed and knocked the grunt out.
On the ground , the last grunt returned to the door and saw Felix.
"What the!?" He shouted. Felix sprinted at the man as he swung his electric baton at Felix. Felix used his left wristblade to block the baton and cut the end off. He then bashed hid right palm into the man's throat, knocking him out.
"Good work Ash, now enter in on the walkway and I'll go on the ground floor" Felix said. He took out a pokeball and let his Lucario out.
"We'll probably have to battle them old friend". His Lucario nodded before they quietly entered the room. Ash quietly opened the door on the walkway and entered the storage room. The room looked more like a small emptied out warehouse. THe walkway formed a hollowed out square around and above the ground where dozens of men in uniforms like Bills, and some in lab coats, all tied up in groups of 6 or seven and put against the wall.
There were 8 team rocket grunts with electric batons , as well as 4 Nidorino's and 2 Golbat guarding the workers. Up on the walkway above them, there were 4 rocket grunts ,2 Nidorino, and 2 Golbat.
"Ash this room is too large for Stealth, we're going to have to face them head on. Get ready" Felix said. A few moments later, Felix sprinted forward and smashed his palms into the back of two rocket grunt's necks, knocking them out. The other 6 grunts quickly turned to face him with their pokemon. Felix's Lucario quickly ran beside him and raised his paws in an aggressive stance.
Meanwhile up on the walkway, one of the grunts looked over the edge as he saw Felix and his Lucario below him. Moments later , Ash came up behind him and knocked him out with a chokehold. The other three grunts rushed over at Ash with their batons and pokemon.
The first one swung his baton down at Ash's head. Ash quickly lurched back then grabbed the man's baton arm and locked his left foot under the mans front heel. Ash used his foot to break the mans stance then pushed his head into the ledge. The rocket grunt fell over as the second one sprinted at Ash. This one was much bolder , he furiously swung his baton at Ash , trying not to give Ash a chance to fight back.
Ash found himself ducking, and diving out of the baton's path several times before he was in a position to fight back. After another dodge, Ash was at the man's flank and grabbed his arm. He smashed his palm into the man's elbow making him drop the baton. After the grunt lost his footing , Ash pushed him into the wall.
It was at this time Ash saw the two Golbat coming right at him with Wing attack.
"PIkachu Iron tail into Electroball!".
"Pika chu!" PIkachu shouted as he leapt up and quickly knocked thew two Golbat away from Ash with his tail. Once they were away from his trainer, Pikachu whipped his tail at them again. This time hurling a ball of electricity that exploded around them. The Electroball's power knocked out both Golbat.
Meanwhile the last Grunt backed up behind the two Nidorino.
"Horn attack!" He shouted. Both Nidorino sprinted forward with their horns held down. Pikachu used his speed and agility to easily avoid each of their strikes.
"Pikachu Iron tail into Thunder!". As one of the Nidorino hurled himself forward, Pikachu lurched to the side and smashed his tail into his opponents head. The second Nidorino came in with his horn held low. PIkachu leapt up and over the Nidorino, landing on the other side of him before smashing his tail into the Nidorino. Both Nidorino were hurled back and into the rocket grunt.
"Pika chu!" he shouted as he engulfed the two Nidorino and the rocket grunt with electricity, knocking all three of them out.
Meanwhile on the ground, Felix was easily knocking out each of the rocket grunts with his fighting skills. Every time one of them got too close with an electric baton , he would cut the tip off with one of his wristblades. While Felix battled the grunts, his Lucario battled their pokemon. Both of Lucario's palms were glowing blue with Aura as he battled the Nidorino and Golbats.
Lucario held back two Nidorinos by their horns as they tried to ram him. Lucario used his immense strength to push both Nidorino to the side , then quickly jabbed his Aura filled hands into their stomachs , knocking them out. The two Golbat flew at Lucario and furiously tried to slash him with their wings and Talons. Lucario held his paws up like a boxer would, and blocked each of the Golbats' strikes. After a minute he struck back and knocked the two Golbat back, then grabbed them and smashed their heads into each other.
The last two Nidorino sprinted at Lucario with their horns held down. Lucario saw this and leapt up into the air. He came down right in between the two Nidorino unleashing a burst of Aura energy that knocked them both out. Meanwhile Felix knocked the 7th rocket grunt out when he saw the last one holding a tied up worker with his baton to the worker's neck.
"Stand down or I will fry this man" The grunt said.
Felix raised an eyebrow and the gave a flick of his wrist. A small burst of Aura energy knocked the baton out of the grunt's hand and hurled him into the ground. Felix sprinted over and leapt onto the grunt, hurling his palm into the man's through, knocking him out.
"Ash we're clear down here" Felix said out loud. Ash came over to the ledge and waved down at Felix.
" We're clear up here" Ash said.
"Alright come down and help me with these workers" Felix said. Felix and Lucario began freeing the workers and scientists from the ropes.
"Are you guys ok?" Felix said.
"Yes, but who are you?" One of the workers said.
"Let's just say I'm the man who's here to help you" Felix said. Ash and Pikachu came down and began freeing the rest of the prisoners.
"So now what? It's not like we can just walk out of here" One of the scientists said.
"Maybe you can" Ash said.
"How" Felix said.
"Well we have over 17 knocked out rocket grunts. Why don't you guys put on their uniforms , walk to the exit in groups of 12 or so. Half of you run for help, the other half return and give the uniforms to others until you are all out".
"Plus if more rocket grunts come by you'll have a few people here to convince them everything's alright" Felix said.
"That's actually a good idea" one of the scientists said.
Meanwhile Red was sweating bricks as the Aura guardian held her wristblade to his face. Ash couldn't put his finger on it, but he couldn't help but find something familiar about her aura. Something very, very familiar.
"Please listen to me, I'm not with team rocket. I'm an Aura guardian in training. My master is Felix. We're here to help stop team rocket from" Red started. The to Red's complete surprise, out of no where the Aura guardian came in closer and kissed him.
Red's face turned as red as his name as she pressed her lips against his for nearly a minute. When the Aura guardian withdrew she lifted her hood up revealing that she was none other than Korrina.
"Hello Red" She said.
"Korrina what are you doing here?".
"I'm here for the same reason as you Red. A few days ago my one of the brotherhood's sources told us about the energy found under the factory. The mentor thought it might be a tear of Reduka, and since I was already in the area he sent me to investigate".
"Why were you in the area?" Red asked.
"Well to be honest, I figured you would be heading to Lumoise city sometime soon" Korrina said blushing a little.
"Well Felix and Ash are heading down to the exgavation area to retrieve the tear of Reduka. I was going to make my way to the control room and stop them from taking control of the machinery" Red said.
"I'm sure Felix and Ash can handle themselves, I'll head with you to the control room" Korrina said.
"Uh Korrina, I know this may not be the best time to talk about this. It's just how we parted ways the last time we saw each other, plus all the time we spent together" Red started.
"Red , time a place" Korrina said.
"Right, we should get moving".
"Exactly, but first" Korrina said before she grabbed Red by the collar of his shirt and kissed him. When she withdrew Red's face had turned red again.
"I will always have time for that" Korrina said. Meanwhile outside the plant , Serena and Clemont made their way to the entrance.
"I think I see the plant entrance" Clemont said.
"Good let's get in there " Serena said. They were about to head to the entrance when they saw a group of team rocket grunts heading out.
"Rocket grunts! Hide!" Clemont shouted. The two quickly took cover behind a large rock near them. They peered back over the rock and saw something strange. All but 4 of the grunts took their uniforms off , revealing they had the same uniforms as Bill on. They handed their uniforms back tot he four still in uniform.
"Alright we'll get the others, you try and find some help" One of the grunts in uniform said before he ran back in the plant with the other 3.
"What the hell is going on?" Clemont said.
"I don't know, but they went back inside so this is our chance" Serena said. They ran over to the entrance and into the plant staircase. At the bottom of the stars they saw a hallway that split in two directions.
"Um, now where do we go?" Clemont said.
"I'm not sure, I didn't think this far ahead" Serena said. Clemont sweatdropped.
"Alright maybe I can find Ash. When he opened up an Aura connection between us, I can sometimes feel his presence when we're close" Serena said.
"Hey who the hell are you?" A loud voice said. Clemont and Serena turned around to see over 10 team rocket grunts with electric batons, 6 Nidoran, and 4 golbat standing behind them.
"Intruders!" Another one shouted.
"Fight or run?" Clemont said shaking. One of the grunts smacked his baton against the ground as it sparked with electricity.
"Run!" Serena shouted as she ran down one hallway while Clemont ran down the other.
"After them!" One of the grunts shouted as he and half of the group followed him after Serena, while the others went after Clemont.
Elsewhere in the plant Ash and Felix were quietly making their way through the hallways, doing their best to avoid detection.
"The lift to the excavation area shouldn't be far. So long as we avoid detection" Felix said. Ash suddenly felt a familiar presence in the factory.
"Pika" Pikachu said as he felt Ash's concern.
"Felix we may have a problem" Ash said. Not a moment later, the plant intercom went off.
"Attention all grunts, we have a pair of intruders on level 2. A young man in a jumpsuit and glasses, and a blonde young woman with a skirt. If you are on level 2 be on the look out. Also a general security alert is now in effect".
"Dam it Serena, Clemont" Ash said.
"Well now we find them".
"I guess she just couldn't stay away. She had to help us".
"That's not something you should dislike about her Ash".
"It's something I love about her" Ash said. Elsewhere , Red and Korrina were putting a pair of rocket grunts in chokeholds when they heard the intercom. Red sighed.
"Looks like we have to find them first" Red said.
"They know they're here. Not us though, we can use that to our advantage" Korrina said. Serena sprinted across the hallway as fast as she could. The rocket grunts and their pokemon were close behind her. Serena didn't know how much longer she could keep running , when she saw elevator in front of her.
Using her last bit of energy, Serena sprinted into the elevator and quickly pressed the close button. One of the grunts sprinted forward and tried to get in the elevator. Just before he could, the doors shut and he smashed into them. Serena let out a breath of relief as she pressed the button for the 4th floor.
One of the grunts outside the elevator took out a walky talky.
"Hey one of the intruders is in elevator 3c and is going up".
"Copy that, I see she's going up to level 4. I'll get some grunts up there". As Serena went up in the elevator she could feel her connection with Ash getting stronger.
"He must be close" Serena said excited as the elevator stopped and the door opened. To her surprise, a tall team rocket grunt was standing in front of her. She desperately tried to press the door close button, but the ground grabbed her and pulled her closer with his electric baton held close to her.
"Hello, aren't you a pretty young woman" The grunt said in with a creepy expression on his face. Acting on impulse, Serena kneed the man between the legs as hard as she could. With his stance and composure broke, Serena grabbed his electric baton from his hand and shocked him with it.
When the grunt fell over Serena saw another 3 grunts behind him and 2 Golbats.
"Where do you think you're going" One of the grunts said. Not a moment later, Ash and Felix leapt down from the upper walkway and landed on two of the grunts knocking them out. The last grunt lurched back a little before Pikachu blasted him and his Golbats with electricity, knocking them out.
"There you are" Ash said.
"I know what you're going to say. I told you to stay away where it's safe. Well guess what Ash, you've been through to much together. I'm not just going to sit on the sidelines while you" Serena started before Ash put his arms around her shoulders and kissed her.
"I'm just glad you're ok" Ash said when he withdrew.
"Where's Clemont?" Felix said.
"I don't know, when we entered the plant we came to a diverging hallway. He went down the left one and I went down the right".
"If he went down the left, then he's heading in Red's direction" Felix said.
"I'll tell him to keep an eye out for Clemont" Ash said. Red took a deep breath and contacted his brother.
"Red If you didn't hear from team rocket, Clemont and Serena are in the plant".
"Yeah we know" Red said back.
"Felix and I found Serena and we think Clemont is heading towards you. Keep an eye out for him".
"We will" Red said.
"We?" Ash said.
"Oh right, Korrina's here too".
"Korrina's here?".
"I'll explain later" Red said.
"Alright he's looking for Clemont, and apparently Korrina's here".
"What? Well that's actually a good thing, having another Aura guardian here will certainly help out. Now that Serena is safe , we should head down to the excavation area" Felix said. He stepped into the elevator followed by Ash and Serena.
Elsewhere, Clemont was struggling to keep himself moving as he rushed up a set of stairs away from the 5 grunts and their pokemon pursuing him. When he got to walkway he realized he couldn't keep running.
"Wait a minute ! My invention!" Clemont said. He took out a small bulldozer with his face on it.
"The bad guys be gone bulldozer should do the trick!" Clemont said as he turned it on and the device drove down at the rocket grunts.
"What the hell is that?" One of the grunts said as he saw the device driving at him. Just before the bulldozer could ram into the grunts it exploded.
"Huh?" Clemont said. When the smoke cleared , Clemont saw the grunts and their pokemon covered in soot. Moments later, they all fell over.
"Well , at least it saved me" Clemont said sweatdropping.
"Hey look there's one of the intruders!"A grunt from across the hallway shouted as he and three other grunts ran after Clemont.
Clemont sprinted in the other direction with the grunts close behind.
"I should have made more than one" Clemont said as he ran. After passing through a doorway, he tripped over the stopper rolled across the floor before stopping.
"Ouch" Clemont said. The four grunts rushed over and gathered around Clemont.
He closed his eyes and braced himself as the 4 grunts walked over. Just before they could reach him, Red and Korrina leapt down from the walkway above them aknd immediately knocked out 2 of the grunts. They then quickly used their martial arrts to knock out the other two grunts.
"There you are Clemont, what are you doing here?" Red said.
"Oh thanks guys, you see Serena and I thought you could use some help so we. Wait a minute, Korrina what are you doing here?".
"We have more important things to do right now" Red said.
"Right" Clemont said.
"The control room isn't far from here. We need to get a move on" Korrina said.
The three continued down the hallway until they reach lift that took them to the upper walkway. At the top of the lift there was a door with a sign above it that said "Control room".
"Here we are" Red said. They slowly opened the door and saw the room was large and filled with computers. They could also see a staircase that lead to an upper area.
"The main controls must be on the upper level" Korrina said. Red used his Aura vision and saw there were 4 rocket grunts patrolling the lower level.
"I see four grunts here" Red said.
"We should take care of them before we get to the upper level" Korrina said.
"Clemont wait here, we'll take care of them" Red said. Red and Korrina slowly made their way through the room as the 4 grunts patrolled. Red slowly approached one from behind and put him in a chokehold. One of the other grunts saw this but was quickly put in a chokehold by Korrina. They set the unconscious grunts behind some computers as the other two grunts turned around.
"Hey where did Jim and Kevin go?" One of the grunts said. They walked over and past the two computers , when Red and Korrina came out and put them in chokeholds.
"We're clear" Red said. Clemont hurried over as they walked up the stairs to the upper level. The upper level had only a few computers in the room , over a dozen monitors, and a large desktop filled with controls. Standing in front of it were 4 people, one was a man wearing a lab coat. Two were team rocket members, not grunts though. They're uniforms seemed more high-ended and threatening. The fourth person was none other than Isabel of Infestation.
"Oh no not her" Red said.
"Who is she?" Korrina said.
"Remember that team rocket officer we fought in the caves".
"Yeah".
"She's basically another him".
"I want access to the machines now!" Isabel screamed at the man in the lab coat.
"I told you, there is no way for me to get in without all 4 codes" The man said. One of the two rocket members stuck his electric baton into the man's elbow, filling him with electricity.
"Stop!" Red shouted. Isabel and her men turned around.
"You brats again. What are you doing here? Oh it doesn't matter, you're going to be my next victims" Isabel said as a pair of rocket grunts came up behind them with two Golbat and two Nidorino.
The two team rocket members next to Isabel each sent out a Seviper and Cacturne. Isabel took out four Pokeballs and sent out a Ariados, Accelgor, Scizor, and a Venomoth.
"That's a lot of pokemon" Red said.
"Well we could sent out lots of our own pokemon and have a have a very large and confusing battle. Or we could sent out the right pokemon for an amazing battle" Korrina said as she raised up her left wristblade holder revealing her Lucarionite.
"You read my mind" Red said as he took out his Charizard's Pokeball. At the same time Korrina sent out her Lucario and Clemont sent out his Heliolisk and Magnagton.
"Only 4 pokemon, pathetic" Isabel said. Red and Korrina pressed their mega evolution stones. Moments later, Lucario and Charizard began to Mega evolve.
Isabel and her mens' eyes began to widen.
"What the hell?!" Isabel said.
"Charizard Dragon claw!" Red shouted. Charizard X flew forward with incredible speed and slashed Scizor and Venomoth, hurling them back towards Isabel. When they landed , she saw they were unconscious.
"What? My powerful insect pokemon knocked out by a single attack?" Isabel said.
"Seviper use Haze and Venoshock" One of the rocket members said.
"Cacturne use Leech seed and Pin missile" The other one said. One of the Sevipers let out a thick Haze of smoke around Mega Lucario.
"They can never blind you to their Aura Lucario, Bone Rush on those Seviper" Mega Lucario formed a bone shaped collection of Aura in his hands as he felt the Aura of his opponents. When he had them locked in , Mega Lucario leapt over the incoming Leech seeds and Venoshock. He used his Bone to deflect the incoming Pin missiles, then sprinted forward and slammed it into the first Seviper. As soon as he knocked the first Seviper out, Mega Lucario leapt up and backflipped onto the second Seviper, before slamming his bone into Seviper's head.
Clemont was facing off against the two rocket grunts.
"Golbat use Wing attack".
"Heliolisk, Parabolic charge!". Heliolisk opened his frill and unleashed a powerful electric burst that hit and knocked out both Golbat. The blast also damaged the two Nidorino the other grunt had.
"Nidorino use double kick".
"Magnaton use Sonicboom into Discharge" Clemont said. Magnaton unleashed a series of powerful bursts of electric energy that exploded in between the two Nidorino's knocking them off their feet.
"Magna ton!" Magnaton shouted as he unleashed a powerful blast of electricity that knocked both Nidorino out. With all of their pokemon defeated, the two rocket grunts returned them before running off.
"Hey get back here you cowards!" Isabel shouted.
"Cacturne use Needle arm".
"Cacturne use Poison sting". One of the Cacturne quickly blasted the ground near Mega Lucario's feed , while the other Cacturne ran at him with his arms glowing.
"Lucario Power up Punch" Korrina said. Lucario moved quickly on his feet, avoiding each of the incoming stingers. When the other cacturne came at him with Needle arm, Lucario smashed his fist into the Cacturne, knocking him out and hurling him into the second Cacturne. Without warning, Mega Lucario leapt forward and smashed his fast into the other Cacturne knocking him out.
"Ariados use Poison jab, Accelgor use Struggle Bug".
"Charizard use Steel wing to protect yourself, then use Dragon claw" Red said. As the two bug types came at him, Charizard X covered his wings in metal and used them to block of of their strikes. Eventually he used them to knock the two bugs back , before he slashed them with his now glowing claws.
Isabel was speechless when she saw all four of her pokemon knocked out.
"No, no!" She screamed. Seeing an opportunity, the scientist got up and sprinted over to Red and the others.
"I won't loose to a bunch of brats!" Isabel screamed as she took her electric baton and imbedded it into the controls. Clemont was concerned when he saw the controls begin to spark.
"You shouldn't have done that miss. Take that thing out now!" Clemont said.
"Grab them !" Isabel shouted. Her two remaining men ran at Red and Korrina, trying to restrain them. Red and Korrina easily defeated the rocket members with their martial arts skills. The two rocket members ran out of the room , leaving Isabel alone.
"You twerps!" Isabel shouted as she ran forward at Korrina with a knife in hand.
"Korrina look out!" Red shouted. Korrina lurched back and brought out her wristblades , blocking Isabel's knife. Isabel furiously slashed at Korrina with her knife. Each time Isabel tried to strike Korrina, Korrina kept the knife away with one of her wrist blades. After another failed strike, Korrina delivered a powerful kick to Isabel's gut. The strike knocked Isabel back into the controls as the sparks grew larger and larger.
Suddenly, the sparks started an electric fire in the control room.
"Look out!" Red shouted. Isabel got up and saw what was happening. The fire began to spread around the control room as smoke filled the air.
"Come on we need to get out of here!" Clemont shouted as he and his pokemon ran out of the room. Korrina and Red returned their pokemon and were about to run out when Korrina remembered Isabel. She looked over and saw the rocket officer still trying to get her. As Isabel ran at her, a piece debris fell from the ceiling in between them. Soon several more fell down trapping Isabel.
"No no!" Isabel shouted.
"Korrina come on we have to go!" Red shouted.
"We can't just leave her" Korrina said. Korrina tried to move some of the debris with her Aura when another piece of debris nearly fell on her.
"Korrina look out!" Red screamed before he grabbed her and hurled the both of them away from the debris. When Korrina and Red got up they saw the ceiling was about to collapse.
"We'll have to do this together" Korrina said. Red and Korrina took each other's hands and combined their Aura powers. Together they were able to use their Aura to keep the ceiling from collapsing ,the smoke , and the fire away long enough for them to get out of the control room. As soon as they got out the ceiling in the room collapsed behind them.
"Guys you made it!" Clemont said relieved.
"But what about Isabel?" Korrina said.
"She was still inside" Red said.
Elsewhere in the plant , Ash, Serena, and Felix exited the elevator at the excavation level. The excavation level was mostly metal walkways over hollowed out rock tunnels . The bottom of the shaft was so far beneath the walkway. Felix , Ash, and Serena carefully made their way down the walkway. They encountered two team rocket grunts on patrol alone the way, to which Felix easily dispatched them.
After a few more minutes of walking they came to a much larger cavern with a large drill platform above them, with several other walkways connected to it.
"The drill, but where are the rocket members manning the drill?" Ash said.
"Looking for me" A familiar voice said. They looked up on the main drill platform and saw none other than Christian the cleaver.
"It's one of the rocket officers!" Serena said scared.
"Who is that?" Felix said.
"He's a team rocket officer. These guys are violent and dangerous" Ash said.
"We'll have to take care of him before we get the stone then" Felix said.
"Stone, you mean this" Christian said holding up a light blue colored tear of Reduka.
"A tear of Reduka!" Felix said.
"So that's what it's called. This stone that Marlen wants so bad".
"You have to listen to me, that stone contains power beyond what you can possible comprehend" Felix said.
"I know, even now I can feel it's power in my grasp. Besides I have seen what this stone can do , and I know it is but a fraction of its true potential" Christian said.
"What have you done?" Felix said. Christian smiled.
"I'd show you, but you won't live long enough to see" Christian said before he put the tear of Reduka in his uniform and took out his boomerangs.
"Look out!" Ash shouted. Christian hurled the boomerangs down and at them. Ash and the others dove to the ground as the two boomerangs flew over their heads. The two metallic boomerangs easily cut through 4 of the beams holding the walkway up.
Christian noticed the metal walkway start to move down from a lack of support.
"Not exactly what I was going for, but it'll work" Christian said as his boomerangs returned to his hands.
Felix saw the walkway starting to creak and bend towards the abyss.
"Ash ! Serena! We need to get off this walkway!" Felix shouted. They quickly got up and ran off the damaged section of the walkway. Just when they thought they were safe , Christian hurled his boomerangs down and cut away the supports for another section of the walkway.
"You won't get away" Christian said. Felix saw Christian hurl his boomerangs at them again. He used his aura to create a small barrier around himself and the others, that deflected the boomerangs.
Christian aimed his hands at the falling boomerangs and revealed that he had magnets in his gloves. The magnets drew the metal boomerangs back to his hands.
"Die" Christian shouted as he hurled the boomerangs again.
"We'll have to get up to the drill platform" Felix said.
"But I can't do all that parkour stuff you guys can do" Serena said sounding scared. Felix looked back at the walkway from where they came from and saw that a section had been cut off.
"Dam it, Alright Ash I'm going to try and get onto the drill so I can keep him occupied. As I get over there I'll cut a section of the walkway down. Use your Aura to keep it in place until Serena can get onto the drill platform".
Ash was a little nervous , he had never used Aura to do something that big before. Then again he had to do it to save Serena.
"Alright I'm ready" Ash said. Felix got up and prepared to jump as the two boomerangs flew at him. Felix used his wristblades to deflect the boomerangs, then leapt up onto the edge of the next walkway above him. He then pulled himself up and ran across the walkway , cutting the beams with his wristblades as he ran past them.
Once he reached the end of the walkway , Felix leapt up and onto the drill platform.
"What the hell?" Christian said. Felix sprinted over at Christian with his wristblades held out. Christian ran at Felix with his boomerangs in hand. Meanwhile the walkway Felix cut , started to fall down between the lower walkway and the drill platform.
Ash took a deep breath and used every bit of Aura energy he could muster to hold it in place.
"Come on Serena" Ash said as he took her hand. They ran across the walkway as fast as they could. As Ash ran, he struggled to keep the walkway floating.
"Jump!" Ash screamed as they reached the end of the walkway. Ash and Serena leapt onto the drill platform as the walkway behind them fell down. Meanwhile Felix and Christian exchanged strikes with each other. As Felix blocked another one of Christian's strikes, he delivered a powerful punch to Christians face. As the rocket officer moved back , Felix held his left boomerang in place with his left wrist blade before hurling his elbow into Christian's face. As Christian stumbled backwards, Felix kicked him in the center of the chest, knocking Christian onto his back.
Christian got up and put his Boomerang's away.
"Your skills are impressive, but It's time I showed you the power that the stone has given me" Christian said as he took out two pokeballs and sent out a pair of Scizors.
"Feel my power" Christian said as he revealed a Mega evolution stone.
"He's got a Mega evolution stone!" Ash shouted. Christian touched the stone and his two Scizors began to Mega evolve.
" The stone has given my pokemon the power of Mega evolution. Now feel their power" Christian said as his Mega Scizor began moving towards them.
"Go Lucario!" Felix shouted.
"Lucario I choose you!" Ash said. Both trainers sent out their Lucario, who took offensive stances against the Mega Scizors.
Felix and Ash both touched their Mega evolution stones. Moments later, the two Lucario Mega evolved. Christian's eyes widened as he saw the two Mega Lucario.
"H'mm interesting, this will be an opportunity to truly test their abilities" Christian said. Ash's Mega Lucario looked over at Felix's Mega Lucario. They had often trained together, but this was the first time they would be fighting together.
As they prepared to battle, Serena saw a trio of rocket members approaching her from behind.
"Go Absol!" Serena shouted as she let her Absol out. Two of the rocket members were grunts ,while the third wore a more streamline and threatening uniform. The grunts each let out Nidorino , while the admin let out a pair of Seviper.
"Four pokemon? Well I guess I could sent out some help. Or I could always try and use my Mega evolution stone" Serena said as she took it out. She was a bit nervous, she knew that she had to have a high level of friendship with her Absol if she wanted to use Mega evolution.
"Absol , I want to use your Mega evolution stone, but I'll only do it if you think we're ready" Serena said.
"Sol" Absol said nodding.
"Alright here we go" Serena said as she touched the stone and Absol started to glow with a colorful sphere around him. When the sphere vanished Absol had changed , his fur was longer overall, and the increased energy coursing through his body made the fur at the back of his mane stand on end, so that it appeared to have wings[1]. The spikes on his heels and elbows grew larger, and the fur in these areas became longer as well. His sickle-shaped horn widens, while an additional, smaller horn appeared on the opposite side of his head. Its tail now has a more saw-like shape, and the oval marking on his forehead is now a rounded triangle.
"Sol!" He roared.
"Absol you look incredible!" Serena said excited.
"Scizor use Metal claw and X scissors" Christian said.
"Lucario use your own Metal claws in a defensive counter" Felix said.
"Lucario Aura sphere into Power up Punch" Ash said. Felix's Lucario's claws turned metal as one of the Mega Scizors flew at him , hurling his claws at Lucario with incredible speed and power. However, Felix's Lucario used his forearms to block each of the Scizor's strikes then locked Scizor's arm before slashing him across the face with his claws.
At the same time Ash's Lucario blasted the other Scizor with a burst of Aura, knocking him off balance and allowing Lucario to Punch him without being hit by X scizors.
"Nidorino use Horn attack".
"Seviper Venoshock".
"Absol use Detect into Night Slash" Serena said. Mega Absol's eye glistened before he leapt out of each of the attacks' paths with ease. After avoiding the last attack Mega Absol slashed the first Nidorino with Night slash easily knocking him out, then slashed the second Nidorino.
"Scizor move in combination and use Bullet punch with Furry cutter" Christian said. The two Mega Scizor began moving together at the two Lucario, using their furious attacks.
"Lucario Extremespeed with Metal Claw, catch them" Felix said.
"Lucario Aura back Power up punch" Ash said. Felix's Lucario sprinted forward with incredible speed towards his opponents. When he reached them, he hurled his claws up and caught the Mega Scizor's claws and held them in place. Moments later, Ash's Lucario leapt up and over his teacher with his fists glowing blue. He then slammed both his fists into the Scizor's, dealing even more damage then last time.
"Seviper use Poison tail". Both Seviper began moving towards Mega Absol with sinister expressions on their faces.
"Psycho Cut with quick attack" Serena said. Mega Asbol sprinted forward faster than Serena had ever seen him run before. He knocked both Seviper onto their backs before they even knew what hit them, then turned around and slashed them with Psychic energy , knocking them out.
"Dam it, I won't loose with my new invincible pokemon. Scizor use Swords dance into Iron head". The two Scizor began to glow blue before they flew at the Mega Lucarios with their heads held forward.
"Lucario Extremespeed , knock him off Balance then Close combat" Felix said.
"Lucario use his own force against him, then use Close combat" Ash said. Felix's Lucario rushed forward and slammed his leg into Scizor's leg, making him loose his balance before Lucario forced his leg behind Scizor's and hurled him into the ground. Once Scizor was on the ground, Lucario slammed his palm into Scizor's face only once to knock him out.
Ash's Mega Lucario waited until the Mega Scizor was close, then leapt up and over him , wrapping his legs around Scizor's head and hurling him onto the ground. Ash's Lucario hit the Scizor in the head once to knock him out.
"No , no!" Christian said as he returned his Scizor and saw his men run off. Christian took out the Tear of Reduka and held it in front of him.
"I can't be beaten, with this stone I'm invincible!".
"Lucario get it from him!" Felix shouted. His Mega Lucario sprinted over and slammed his palm into Christian as he took the Tear of Reduka with his other hand. The attack hurled Christian back and over the edge.
"No!" Felix shouted.
"Grau!" His Lucario shouted realizing what he had just done. Christian didn't even scream as he fell into the abyss below.
"Is he?" Serena said. Felix sighed as he walked up to his Lucario.
"It's alright Lucario, he left us no choice. The most important thing is we have the Tear of Reduka and we're all safe " Felix said.
"Serena, you mega evolved your Absol" Ash said.
"I know, this is so exciting. Absol I'm so proud of you" Serena said as she knelt down in front of him.
"Sol" Absol said licking her cheek.
"Well now that we have the Tear of Reduka, we should find the others and get some help. We can't retake the plant alone" Felix said.
"We don't have to, when we were at the pokemon center, we made a call in to the army" Serena said.
"What?" Felix said. Elsewhere in the plant , Red, Korrina, and Clemont were walking through a hallway when they saw a dozen Kalos soldiers running down the hallway.
"Soldiers?" Red said.
"Oh right I forgot to mention, Serena and I called for help" Clemont said.
"What the hell are you kids doing here?" One of the soldiers said as they came up to them.
"It's a long story" Korrina said. Elsewhere as the others exited the elevator , they saw 3 squads of Kalos soldiers with 8 military Larion and 10 team rocket grunts in handcuffs.
"Hey who are you people?" A sgt said as he approached them.
"We were passing by the plant when we found a man who escaped team rocket. We called for help then came inside to help the others" Felix said.
"Well sir that was very reckless of you and your kids" The Sgt said.
"That is not his daughter" A familiar voice said. Serena's eyes widened as she saw none other than her father walking towards them.
"Dad" She said.
"Major, this is your daughter?" The Sgt said.
" Yes" Major Achille approached Serena with a very angry expression on his face.
"Serena, what the hell are you doing here?".
"Dad I can explain" Serena said.
"I thought I told you to stay out of trouble, and you go looking for it" He said as he facepalmed.
"It's not her fault sir, you see I" Ash said.
"You dragged her here" Achille said turning to Ash.
"No! He told me to stay away, I came anyway because he's my boyfriend and I couldn't let him do this without me" Serena said.
"Boyfriend!" Achille nearly screamed.
"Hey Mikes, get a loud of this" A Cpl. whispered to another soldier. Felix stepped forward and got in between Achille and Ash.
"Look Major, out business here is our own. I understand she's your daughter, but everyone is safe and unharmed".
"Who are you exactly?" Achille said.
"I'm their Guardian, and protector" Felix said. After some more discussion, Achille calmed down a bit and the group met up with the others at the pokemon center.
"There you guys are" Red said.
"Ash, Felix so good to see you guys again" Korrina said.
"Korrina good to see you too" Ash said.
"Did you get the Tear of Reduka?" Korrina asked.
"Right here" Felix said as he took it out. Bonnie ran over to the others with Spritzee and Skitty in her arms.
"There you guys are! I've been waiting here all day" Bonnie said before she saw Korrina.
"Oh my god Korrina you're back!".
"Hellow Bonnie" Korrina said.
"Now you and Red can get married!". Red and Korrrina's faces turned red. A few minutes later Serena came back into the main room.
"So how did it go with your father?" Ash said.
"Well at first he was upset with me, but after we talked it out he forgave me and said I could keep traveling with you guys".
"Thank goodness" Ash said.
"He does , however , want to spend the day with us in Lumoise when we get there" Serena said.
"Sounds good" Ash said. They decided to rest up at the pokemon center for the night , before continuing on to Lumoise city. In Ash, Serena, Red, and Korrina's room Ash and Serena had already fallen asleep. Korrina noticed that Ash and Serena were sleeping in the same bed cuddled up against each other.
"Are they sleeping in the same bed?" Korrina said.
"Yeah they've been doing that for a few days now" Red said.
"Have they been uh?".
"Oh no! Nothing like that, trust me I'd know. No they just cuddle up against each other " Red said. Red was already laying in his bed with Korrina laying next to him.
"So now that we're safe, do you suppose now would be a good time to talk about, well us?" Red said. Korrina turned her head towards Red and nodded.
"I think is obvious we both like each other as more then just friends, and it's easy to see why. We have a lot of common, we have the same values, our goals are very similar. Then there's the fact that you're just an amazing person Korrina. You dream big, you aspire to do your best and beyond, you're also a very kind and loving pokemon trainer. You really care about your pokemon and the people around you" Red said.
Korrina blushed.
"Well I know that you're also a very kind and loving pokemon trainer, you train your pokemon so their potential is unlimited. They clearly trust you and love you in a way that only certain trainers can do. You care about everyone around you and you stand up for what you believe in". Now Red blushed.
"So this is real, but the problem is our current paths. I have to look over my gym and do my duties as an Aura guardian. You have to travel Kalos and complete your training while also competing in the Kalos league" Korrina said.
"That does't mean we can't make this work. Sure we may not see each other ever day, but there will be times when we can spend several days together. Besides I won't be on this journey forever, once the Kalos league is over I can be with you all the time" Red said.
"I suppose that's true. So I guess we can make this work" Korrina said.
"We can make this work, I know we can. I know what we feel for each other is real" Red said as he took Korrina's hand. Korrina blushed some more , then kissed Red. Soon after, they fell asleep in each other's arms.

Sorry it took me so long to make this chapter, but it was much longer than the average chapter.
