"Your blood tests and your scans came back negative, Katagiri-san. But you do have a lower count of red blood cells from iron deficiency, so I advise you to take some iron supplements and eat more red meat or liver. It is probably the cause of why you have been feeling weak and were coughing up blood theses several weeks." The doctor scribbled something onto the prescription pad and tore it off for her. "I'll prescribe an iron supplement to you. Just take this to the nurse up front and she will handle the medication. If anything else occurs, please come back and let me know."
"Thank you." Katagiri took the slip and gathered her coat and purse. With a bow to the doctor, she exited the room and headed directly to the medicine station in the clinic. One of the nurses behind the counter received the paper from her and went about to prepare the medicine.
As she waited, Kanae turned partially to the side and looked at Ryuuken. He was on his phone speaking in hushed tones to the other person on the line and he did not appear to be pleased. Her eyes lowered to the floor and stayed at the laces of her shoes. It was most likely the Master and Mistress asking him of his progress in school and insisting his return to the family company.
When she received her medicine, his back was turned to her now and his shoulders were tense. As she approached him from behind, she felt his reiatsu simmering underneath his exterior.
"Very well. I'll see you both this weekend." Ryuuken ended the conversation with forced respect and slipped away his phone. A sinking feeling expanded within her when he turned around.
He spoke without looking at her. "We'll be returning to Karakura this Friday morning. There is a Quincy gathering at our mansion Friday evening and I have to be there."
"I understand, Ryuuken-sama." Kanae stayed mum about the matters of the Quincy, since she was only to obey the orders handed to her and not question them. She tucked the pouch of medicine behind her back and away from his vision. But he didn't even seem to notice her action.
"Let's go then." Ryuuken straightened his coat and handed over hers. Before she even finished slipping it on, he was already half way down the hall.
