Ava heard that the tv was cranked up loudly as she walked through the house. She figured Maggie had stayed to make sure she got home without trouble. Turning into the living room, she found Maggie latched onto someone with pale blonde hair. Gil, Ava thought. The two were sharing the loveseat in the dark room as The Little Mermaid played on the giant flatscreen. Ava knew Maggie had a serious infatuation with this boy but he was just clueless whenever she came onto him. It was a sad sort of funny to Ava. Her friend could probably get any guy on looks alone but of course she had to single out the naive missionary-wannabe. Ava sighed and grabbed the abandoned popcorn bowl before taking a seat next to Maggie, dragging her new prized fox along.

Maggie shrieked as soon and she noticed the other girl and paused the tv.

"Ava Ire is back from her date!" she teased. Maggie pulled her knees under her like a little girl at a sleepover.

"Oh, hello, Ava! How was your evening?" Gil questioned. Ava was already feeling mild discomfort as she knew she was about to be bombarded with questions she didn't want to answer.

"It was fine. His sisters were a bit rude but they're just kids," she replied.

"Wait wait wait, he brought his kid sisters along? On a date? How lame is this guy!" Maggie exclaimed, causing Ava to flinch.

"Well, that was the whole reason for me going. He didn't want to be stuck at the fair all by himself so he asked me if I wanted to go to keep him company. That's it!" Ava retorted.

"Oh, really? So you won that stuffed toy all by yourself, no help at all?" Maggie was being overly persistent.

"If that's how you're going to be, then I'm going to bed," Ava pouted and turned around.

"Okay then, if you insist. Nice jacket, by the way," Maggie tossed out.

Ava looked down, blushed, and ran towards her room. Magnolia's cackling could be heard throughout the otherwise quiet house as she heard a door slam shut.
