Chapter 38: Best trainer in the world
It was late in the afternoon in Lumiose city, and Nair was sitting on top of a large tower overlooking the city. There was much on his mind.
Another man had just climbed up to the rooftop and walked over to him.
"Afternoon Felix".
"Nair" Felix said as he sat next to him.
"Just a little bit longer my old friend, are you excited?" Felix said.
"I'm a bit nervous, It's been so long".
"If you're going to finnish your time in the air force is Captain Nair going to go back to his old life? Or devote all his time to the brotherhood".
"Captain Nair is done. He just got his discharge papers after serving his required service time. I will be going back to my old life, that doesn't mean I won't still be a contributing member of the brotherhood. I contributed plenty as Captain Nair".
"I never said you didn't. It will be great having you back Daniel".
"Now will you ever go back to your old life?". Felix sighed.
"The brotherhood is my life, I can't have two lives that conflict with".
"Don't even, there are plenty of Aura guardians who have families outside the brotherhood. My fiancee isn't an aura guardian and she knows what I do. Hell even the mentor has a wife and family, whom none are guardians. He spends plenty of time with them, plus he's also a general in the army".
"Alright , alright I see your point, and maybe you're right. But the first thing I need to do is finnish Ash and Red's training. Then I'll see where to go".
"I wish you luck with that old friend. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go. Will you be watching the match?".
"Probably" Felix said. Nair looked below and saw a pickup truck with an open back filled with hey.
"See ya" Nair said before he dove down towards the streets below.
"Alright we drop the hey off at the Rapidash ranch then hurry back before" One of the men in the truck started.
"Hey did you hear that?" The driver said.
"Hear what?".
"Like something landed in the hey".
"Man you've been drinking too much coffee, just drive".
"Maybe you're right". Nair climbed out of the back of the truck then began scaling another building.
"I better get going too" Felix said as he began to parkour to another rooftop.
Elsewhere Ash and the others had met up with Serena and her father.
"I'm so excited! We get to see Daniel Rian!" Clemont said.
"So where is the match happening anyway?" Sycamore said.
"It's happening at the Grand Chateau castle" Alexa said.
"The what?" Ash said.
"The Grand Chateau castle was the castle of the Kalos king who started the battle chateaus. It because the first battle chateau and is the cite of the grand festival" Alexa said.
"Really!" Serena said.
"But wait, I thought Alex said it's owned by a former Kalos Marine" Korrina said.
"It is, he inherited it. He's a descendent of that bloodline" Alex said.
"Oh" Korrina said.
"Not only do we get to see Daniel Rian, but we get to see him go against Cynthia, the champion of Sinnoh. She's suppose to be one of the best trainers in the world" Red said.
"Well we have our backstage passes, if we're lucky we might get to meet one of them" Alexa said.
"If I could meet Daniel Rian, that would be one of the moments that defines my life" Ash said.
"Wow" Serena said.
"Me too!" Red said.
"Are they taking this a little seriously?" Serena said to Korrina.
"Are you kidding! This is a life defining moment!" Korrina almost shouted. Serena sweat dropped. Though she could understand why they were so excited. In truth she was extremely excited about seeing two of the best trainers in the world clash at the location of the Battle Chateau grand festival.
Nearby, Felix was leaping from ledge to ledge when he noticed a large crowd of people heading in one direction.
"Must be heading to the match" Felix said to himself. He was about to continue when he saw the group in the crowd.
"It's Ash, Red, and Korrina. Wait is that!?" Felix used his aura vision to see everyone in the group's aura, that is when he knew it was her.
"Deila". Felix carefully leapt and parkoured across the building sides to get closer. After a minute he was directly above her. As Delia walked she thought she heard something above her. She looked up at the ledge above her , but saw nothing.
"Huh, I could have sworn I heard something".
"Delia come on" Alex said. Delia kept walking as Felix watched her from a higher up ledge. After another 20 minutes they reached the Grand Chateau castle. The castle resembled the other battle chateaus, only much bigger and more extravagant. The tower had clearly undergone several alterations to keep it sound and sturdy.
"Here we are" Alexa said.
"This place looks amazing!" Serena said with stars in her eyes.
"A real castle!" Bonnie said. The group had to wait for a few minutes in line before they could reach the main entrance. At the main entrance there was a man wearing a suit and two men wearing gray uniforms that looked like crosses between police and army uniforms.
"Welcome to the Grand Chateau castle, I am master Yon. May I see your tickets" Yon said.
"Right here" Ash said as he, Serena, Korrina, Red, Alexa, and Delia took out their tickets.
"Very good you may enter" Yon said before he saw Alex in his army uniform.
"Oh a soldier, welcome sir. You may enter free of charge".
"Thank you, these two are my guests" Alex said as Clemont and Bonnie stepped forward.
"Very well, you may all enter". The whole group entered the chateau and saw it's interior. The hallways were filled with old sets of armor, marble colums, marble floors, expensive vases,paintings, silk rugs and tapestries.
"This place is unbelievable!" Serena said.
"It makes the other chateau's look like bathrooms!" Bonnie said. As the group made their way through the crowded hallways, Ash bumped into someone.
"Hey watch where you're going man".
"Sorry I was just, wait" Ash said as he realized the person he bumped into was Gary.
"Gary?".
"Ash? Hey Grandpa , look who's here" . Ash saw Professor Oak.
"Professor Oak, guys it's professor Oak" Ash said.
"Professor Oak" Red said as he turned and saw him.
"Ash, Red. So good to see you both again. How has your adventure been going?" Oak said.
"It's been going great. We've both got five badges" Ash said.
"Not bad I guess. But how many pokemon do you have?" Gary said.
"I've got six and Ash has seven" Red said.
"What!? Are you serious? I've got over 30 pokemon" Gary said.
"30 pokemon?" Ash , Red, and Serena all said at the same time.
"Gary has a point, you two need to catch more pokemon. Catching as many pokemon as you can is an important part of your journey".
"Oak is that you!" Sycamore said. Oak turned over and saw his old student.
"Sycamore, it's been too long". Sycamore came over and shook Oak's hand.
"So how has your research on Mega evolution been going lately?".
"I've actually came into some serious luck and progress recently".
"Well let me know what you find out".
"Hello Oak, nice to see you again" Delia said.
"Oh hello Delia, good to see you again too. How has your new job been treating you?".
"It's been great, Alexa and I have gotten the low down on every major story in the last 3 months".
"Well I'm happy for you".
"So I'm guessing you came here to see Daniel Rian" Ash said.
"Hell yeah, the future pokemon world champion has come to see the current world champion" Gary said.
"He hasn't changed" Red said.
"Actually Daniel and I know each other" Oak said.
"What!" Everyone including Gary said.
"How do you know Daniel Rian!?" Ash said.
"Almost 15 years ago Daniel lived in Kanto and came to me when he was nine years old to start his journey".
"You mean you gave him his starter pokemon!" Red said.
"That's right, we stayed in contact for years until he disappeared two years ago. I was hoping I would be able to meet up with him again tonight" Oak said.
"If we could meet Daniel Rian" Ash said.
"Well if we want to even see him we should probably get to our seats. The match starts in 20 minutes" Serena said.
"Oh she's right, and look at the crowd" Korrina said as they saw a large backup of people trying to get into the main battle room.
"This could be a while" Red said sweat dropping.
"Not quite" Alexa said showing the backstage passes.
"Follow us" Delia said. Delia and Alexa lead them to a hallway entrance with two men wearing the same uniforms as the men at the front entrance.
"Sorry folks , but this hallway is off limits without a special pass" One of the guards said.
"We have these passes" Alexa said showing them her pass.
"Very well, but don't hang around long, the mach will begin soon". The guards stepped aside and the group entered the hallway. This hallway seemed less furnished and a lot smaller, but still very high quality.
"We just keep following this hallway until we come across entrance way 4d , that will take us to our seats" Delia said. Elsewhere on the castle exterior, Felix was scaling the wall until he reached a window ledge near the top. Sitting on top of the ledge was another aura guardian.
" Felix there you are, do you know how long I've been waiting for you to show up?" The aura guardian said.
"Sorry Thomas, I had a some chat time with an old friend".
"Nair?".
"Yup".
"Well after tonight we won't have to call him that anymore".
"Nope". Thomas wore a blue and green robe, he had very dark skin and had a bald head with blue eyes.
"Come on, let's not miss the match" Thomas said as he opened the window.
Elsewhere back in the hallway Ash and the others were almost to the entrance way there were looking for when a door on the right side of the hallway opened. A tall woman wearing a black overcoat, black pants, black shirt, and some black tear shaped things in her hair. She had gray eyes and very long blonde hair.
"Wait a minute is that!?" Red said. The woman noticed them.
"Oh Hello, would any of you happen to know where the entrance to the battlefield is. I keep getting lost".
"Well it's been a while Cynthia, hasn't it" Oak said.
"Professor Oak, is that really you?".
"Indeed. Everyone this is Cynthia , the champion of the Sinnoh region" Oak said.
"Oh my gosh! Ms. Cynthia this is such an honor to meet you!" Korrina said with stars in her eyes.
"Oak are these student's of yours?".
"Actually no they're Sycamore's students. Well these three are, Korrina, and Clemont are gym leaders" Oak said.
"My name is Ash, this is my partner Pikachu" Ash said.
"Pika".
"Well pleasure to meet you Ash and Pikachu. Is he your starter pokemon?".
"Yes".
"How interesting, I didn't start with a standard starter pokemon either".
"My name is Red, I'm Ash's brother".
"I'm Serena".
"Nice to meet you two as well. So I'm guessing you guys are Clemont and Korrina".
"Yyyess" Clemont said shaking.
"Ms. Cynthia it's such a privilege to meet a trainer of your skill level" Korrina said.
"Excuse me, Ms. Cynthia" Bonnie said.
"Oh hello , who are you?".
"I'm Bonnie, Clemont younger sister". Bonnie said before she got on one knee.
"Will you marry by brother!?".
Clemont's face turned white as everyone turned to him.
"What?" Cynthia said. Clemont sprinted over and grabbed Bonnie , covering her mouth.
"She says funny things when she doesn't get enough sleep! Please pay no attention to what she just said!" Clemont screamed. Ash and the other's sweatdropped.
"So Cynthia are you excited to be facing Daniel Rian?" Oak said.
"More than excited, I've been looking forward to this rematch for years".
"Rematch? Oh right Daniel Rian had to have beaten every regional champion at least once" Serena said.
"A few years ago, just two months after I became the champion of Sinnoh I had my mind set on becoming the world champion. That was when I heard about this Daniel Rian guy. He was around my age and had managed to beat the elite four and champion from every region except mine. So when I heard he had beaten the Sinnoh elite four I was excited to battle him. I thought if I could beat him, it would make me the best trainer in the world. That was until the battle started. I had faced plenty of powerful trainers in my life before. The elite four, the previous champion , but Daniel Rian was something else".
"Well he had to be to beat every regional champion" Sycamore said.
"After I was defeated I hoped we could have a rematch sometime when I got more experience, but then he just vanished a few years ago. That was until a few weeks ago I got an email from him asking for an exhibition match. Ever since then I've been training hard for this. I think we can do this" Cynthia said.
"Well good luck Cynthia, this will certainly be a match to remember" Oak said. After they parted ways, the group found entrance 4d.
"Here we are" Alexa said. They walked through the entrance and into the main battle room. The main battle room was similar to the one where they saw Diantha face Captain Nair, only much bigger, and much more elegant.
"Wow " Serena said looking at the room.
"Our seats should be just ahead" Ash said. They moved through the crowded seats until they got to a set of seats in the front row.
"Here we are" Red said as they sat down.
"Just a few more minutes!" Ash said excited. Elsewhere in a private box, a young woman in her early twenties was sitting alone. She had long light blackish hair, with slightly tanned skin and green eyes. The young woman heard a knock on the door and walked over. As she opened it she saw Felix and Thomas.
"I was wondering when you two would get here".
"Serina, always good to see you again" Felix said.
"We would have been here sooner , but Felix kept me waiting" Thomas said as they walked over and sat down.
"I hear Nair's been discharged" Felix said.
"He said he's done enough time in the air force, he wants this life again. Personally I'm glad he's come to his senses. Having him sneak around with you guys is one thing, but doing that and juggling being an officer".
"Well this is his first match in a long time, let's enjoy it" Thomas said. A few minutes later a tall man walked onto the center of the battlefield. The man was wearing a Kalos Marine service uniform. with two golden bars on each of the shoulders.
"Welcome one and all to the Grand Chateau castle. I am Sir Henry Loton, my ancestors founded the battle chateau and it was my honor and privilege to have the champion of the Sinnoh region and the champion of the world. So without further ado, I give you the champion of the Sinnoh region Cynthia!".
The crowd cheered as Cynthia walked out onto one end of the battlefield.
" And now , appearing for the first time in years. Known to be the greatest pokemon trainer in the world, Daniel Rian!. Everyone turned to the other side of the battlefield and watched closely. A few moments later Ash and the others could see someone coming out.
A young man who looked like he was around 24 to 26 came out. He was about 6 feet tall with brown hair that was so dark it almost looked black. His eyes were a very light brownish yellow that could be mistaken for green. He also seemed to have a good physique, he wasn't quite as big as Felix but only a little smaller.
The man was wearing a black and dark blue shirt that almost looked like armor. Ash and Red noticed that his sleeves extended almost out onto his hands, as if he were concealing something.
"It's, it's Daniel Rian" Ash said almost stuttering.
"Oh it's him all right" Oak said.
"It's really him!" Red said.
"The battle is about to begin!" Korrina said. Daniel and Cynthia walked to the center of the battlefield by Henry.
"You've been gone for a some time. What have you been doing?" Cynthia said.
"I've been busy".
"Well I hope you know I've been looking forward to this rematch for years. I'm a much better trainer now than I was the last time we battled".
"That's good to hear". Cynthia and Daniel shook hands before walking to their ends of the battlefield. Henry walked to the side as a referee walked up beside him.
"The match between Champion Cynthia and Daniel Rian is about to commence. This battle will be an exhibition battle. Each trainer will be allowed one pokemon. Once that pokemon is defeated , their opponent is the winner".
Cynthia un-clicked a pokeball from her belt and threw it forward. A massive Garchomp came out and roared at the top of her lungs.
"Woah a Garchomp" Red said.
"She's a lot bigger than the one at your lab" Ash said noticing how big Cynthia's Garchomp was.
"That Garchomp was her first pokemon. She's used Garchomp in more battles than I can count" Oak said.
Daniel un-clipped a pokeball from his own belt and hurled it forward. A massive Charizard came out and roared almost twice as loud as Garchomp.
"Woah look at his Charizard" Red said. Daniel's Charizard was massive, bigger than Ash's or Red's Charizards. Bigger than Cynthia's Garchomp. In fact he was almost 8 feet tall.
"He's massive" , "PIka" Pikachu said easily impressed.
"Ah yes Charizard, that was the starter pokemon I gave him all those years ago when I first met him and he started his journey" Oak said.
"Wait a minute, that's his first pokemon" Ash said.
"That's right".
As Ash looked closer he noticed that Daniel's Charizard had small piece of black armor around the top of his neck with something in the center.
"Huh is that?".
"His Charizard huh, alright. Garchomp gather some stones then use Dragon Rush" Cynthia said. Her Garchomp smashed her claws into the ground and then rushed forward with incredible speed and began soaring towards Charizard.
"Charizard, stop her". Daniel's Charizard roared before he flew head on at Garchomp with his Claws glowing violet. Just before they could clash, Garchomp unleashed Stone edge. Charizard re-angled his wings , covering himself with his now metal wings. The stones bounced off or cracked into pebbles.
Charizard then slammed his claws across Garchomp's face, hurling Garchomp down. Immediately after, Charizard grabbed hold of Garchomp and smashed both of his Steel wings into her face, before hurling Garchomp across the battlefield.
"Graww!".
"Woah did you see that?!" Red said.
"That was unbelievable!" Ash said. Many in the crowd began to cheer as Garchomp got up.
"He certainly hasn't lost his touch" Cynthia said nervously.
"Charizard into the air". Charizard kicked off the ground and soared high into the air.
"Garchomp use Sandstorm" Garchomp roared as she filled the air with thick and rough sand.
"Aww now I can't see anything" Bonnie said.
"We still can" Korrina said as she took a deep breath and used her aura vision. Ash and Red did the same. Ash used his aura connection with Serena to allow her to see as well. In Aura vision, they could see the two pokemon by their aura. As Ash watched the two pokeom's aura he also noticed Daniel Rian's aura. He couldn't put his finger on it, but something about the aura seemed very familiar. As if he had somehow met him before.
"Charizard use Inferno". Charizard's tail turned even bigger as he opened his mouth and unleashed a maelstrom of fire that tore through the sand straight towards Garchomp.
"Garchomp pick up speed, get up there and use Dragon claw. But first weaken his composure with stone edge". Garchomp sprinted forward narrowly avoiding the fire, before using her wings to glide up and into the air at Charizard.
"Stop her". Because of Inferno, the sandstorm had been thinned out enough for Charizard's keen eyes to see Garchomp. When she got close enough, Garchomp unleashed stone edge at extremely close range. With reflexes like lightning, Charizard used his claws to destroy some of the rocks while his now Metal wings knocked away the rest. All except one, to which he caught in his jaws and snarled before crushing it into pebbles.
Just before Garchomp could reach Charizard's legs, Charizard slashed his claws into Garchomp. Overpowering her before wrapping his arm around her head and the arm arm around her legs.
"Oh no" Cynthia said.
"He's got Garchomp restrained" Alex said.
"Seismic toss". Charizard roared as he flew up higher with Garchomp in his arms, and did 3 air circles before flying straight at the ground.
"Garchomp use Dragon claw, break free". Garchomp tried to claw her way out, but she was facing away from Charizard which made it difficult. Not only that, but ever time she managed to strike him Charizard looked and acted as if nothing happened. Just before the two reached the ground, Charizard hurled Garchomp forward and slashed her wings so she couldn't catch herself. Charizard then quickly re-angled his wings and flew forward before landing making a hard impact. So much that it nearly cracked the floor. Charizard , however, looked unharmed.
Garchomp on the other hand struggled to get up after crashing into the ground.
"Dam , that's got to be the most skilled and powerful pokemon I've ever seen" Alexa said. Garchomp growled as she got up and turned to Charizard.
"Cynthia is one of the best trainers in the world and her Garchomp hasn't even landed a hit" Red said.
"It's no wonder Daniel beat every regional champion" Ash said.
"Charizard Flare blitz , but amp it up first. Then face her head on".
"Wait a minute what he was doing wasn't head on?" Clemont said.
Charizard roared as his tail flame exploded around him.
"Wait a minute did he just use blaze?" Ash said.
"But I thought Blaze could only be used when he was close to fainting?" Serena said.
"Actually with the right amount of training, One can teach their pokemon to use abilities like blaze on demand. In theory of course" Oak said.
"Well I don't think that it's theory anymore" Korrina said as Charizard covered himself in more fire with Flare Blitz.
"This is going to be the greatest story of our lives!" Alexa said as she continued to film and take pictures of the match.
"Garchomp you're stronger than him I know you are and you know it too. We've waited a long time for this and I know we can do this. Show him who you are, Dragon claw with Gigia impact". Garchomp roared as she hurled herself at Charizard. Charizard roared even louder as he flew straight at Garchomp.
When the two Collided, to everone's amazement Garchomp was once again overpowered and knocked back several feet with burn marks on her head and chest. Cynthia began to sweat a little upon seeing this. Garchomp grunted as she got back up and charged right back at Charizard with her claws glowing Violet.
Charizard's claws also began to glow violet with flames from the Blaze and Flareblitz covered them. The two massive pokemon clashed, hurling their Dragon claws at each other with all their might. Ever time Garchomp tried to claw her opponent, Charizard either blocked her arm with his forearm or overpowered Garchomp and knocked her claws away. Charizard racked his flaming Dragon claws across Garchomp 5 times before she stumbled backwards. Charizard snarled as he grabbed Garchomp and lifted her above his head.
The flames on Charizard's body began doing more damage to Garchomp as he held her up. Charizard hurled Garchomp up and forward before leaping onto the air and smashed her into the ground with his claws. When Garchomp hit the ground, she tried to get up but stopped halfway and fell over.
"Graa" She said before loosing consciousness.
"Garchomp no!".
"Garchomp is unable to battle, the winner is Charizard and Daniel!" The ref said. Charizard let out a powerful roar and unleashed a massive jet of fire into the air.
"That was awesome!" Korrina shouted.
"Incredible!" Red said.
"The greatest battle I've ever seen!" Ash said. Cynthia came over to her Garchomp and helped her up.
"I know it's not the result we wanted Garchomp, but you battled valiantly. Don't let this dwell on you, we've already proven ourselves the best in all of Sinnoh". Daniel and his Charizard approached them.
"Quite a fun battle Cynthia, I've missed this" Daniel said as his Charizard helped Garchomp get back on her feet.
"You guys certainly haven't lost your touch" Cynthia said.
"I can't tell you what we've been doing, but we haven't stopped training or battling" Daniel said. Cynthia and Daniel shook hands as their pokemon did the same. The crowd erupted in an uproar of applause.
Meanwhile up in the private box.
"Quite a battle, Daniel is as skilled as ever" Felix said.
"I think Diantha's defeat at the battle chateau was proof of that" Thomas said.
"True" Felix said.
"I should get to his private room before we get mobbed by fans. Either of you feel like coming?" Serina said.
"I haven't seen him in a long time. Hell yeah I'm coming".
"I wish I could , but Delia is down there and I can't risk running into her" Felix said.
"You have to stop procrastinating and deal with that little problem of yours Felix" Serina said.
" Seriously" Thomas said.
"Honest to Reduka, does everyone in the brotherhood know about that?".
"No, just your close friends" Thomas said.
"I'm not an Aura guardian" Serina said.
"I know".
"This was an amazing night! We got to come to the Grand Chateau castle, got to meet the champion of Sinnoh, and we got to see the greatest trainer on earth in a battle" Serena said.
"It's not over yet, we still have our backstage passes. Which means we might still be able to meet Daniel Rian in person" Delia said.
"That's right! Come on let's go!" Red said as he almost ran towards the hallway they came in through. The group began searching through the hallway but couldn't find the right room.
"Come on where is it?" Red said.
"I don't know, they didn't exactly tell us where his room would be" Alexa said.
"Wait Red, Ash. We looked at the match through our aura vision right" Korrina said through an aura message.
"Yeah" Ash said back
"That mean's we saw his aura" Korrina said.
"Which means we could track him through his aura! Brilliant Korrina!" Red almost said out loud.
Ash took a deep breath and began feeling the aura around him. It took him a minute but Ash found what he thought could be Daniel's aura.
"Uh guys maybe we should try this way" Ash said.
"What makes you think that's the way?" Gary said.
"He just does" Red said. Ash lead them down the hallway to a door.
"Here we are" Ash said. No one in the group even moved towards the door.
"Uh, maybe someone should knock" Red said.
"Right uh, well" Ash said feeling very nervous.
"Come on, just do it" Gary said while looking just as nervous.
"Well I know Daniel personally, so I'll do it" Oak said as he walked over and knocked on the door. A few moments later the door opened. Standing on the other side was none other than Daniel Rian.
"Well look who showed up" Daniel said.
"Daniel it's been too long" Oak said as he and Daniel gave each other a friendly hug.
"You didn't think I'd miss out on seeing my most successful student's first match in years" Oak said.
"Well I'm glad you came professor, it's good to see you again".
"DDDD-Daneil Rian" Ash stuttered.
"Pika" Pikachu said just as amazed. Daniel turned towards Ash, Red, and the others who were almost shaking.
"Oh are these students of yours?".
"Actually only my Grandson Gary is".
"Hhhello, I'm Gary" Gary said shaking.
"These three are professor Sycamore's students" Oak said.
"I'm professor Sycamore, pleasure to meet you Daniel" Sycamore said extending his hand.
"Pleasure to meet you as well" Daniel said shaking Sycamore's hand.
"So what are your names?" Daniel said turning back to Ash and the others.
"Hello Daniel Rian, it's such an honor to meet you. My name is Ash Ketchum, and this is my partner Pikachu.
"Pika pikach!" Pikachu said excited.
"Well nice to meet you Ash" Daniel said as he looked closer and rubbed the side of Pikachu's head.
"Well this is a very healthy and strong Pikachu. I can tell you've been raising him well".
"Thank you!" Ash said. Hearing that from the greatest trainer on Earth meant so much to him. Daniel turned to Red and Serena.
"So who might you be?".
"I'm Red, Ash's brother".
"I'm Serena Achille".
"Pleasure to meet you both, so the three of you are trainers".
"That's right, Red and I are competing in the Kalos league. We already have five badges" Ash said.
"But we only have 6 and 7 pokemon" Red said.
"Don't be discouraged by that. When I first competed in the Indigo league I only had 8 pokemon".
"Really?" Serena said.
"You only had 8 pokemon" Gary said.
"I found that it allowed me to spend more time with each of my pokemon. So Serena, are you competing in the Kalos league too?".
"Actually no, I'm competing in the battle Chateaus".
"That's a fine goal too. I know many great trainers who achieved greatness through the battle chateau. Even I competed in it once".
"Really!".
"Yes, I'm currently a Grand Duke".
"Wow". Daniel turned to Clemont and Korrina.
"I know who you two are. Clemont and Korrina. The Lumiose city and Shalour city gym leaders".
"DDaniel Rian knows who we are" Clemont said as his legs shook.
"Hii! I'm Bonnie, Clemont's sister".
"Well nice to meet you".
"My name is Alex, I'm Serena's father" Alex said extending his hand.
" Nice to meet you. I see you're a soldier. My father was in the Kanto military".
"Really". Alex said as he shook Daniel's hand.
"My name is Delia Ketchum, I'm Ash and Red's mother".
"Deila, pleasure to meet you".
"I'm Alexa, I'm Delia's partner in the Kalos press".
"I'm guessing you're here to get a story on me".
"Well" Alexa said as she and Delia sweat dropped.
"It's alright, I'd actually like you to meet my fiancee". Daniel walked into the room first. When they walked in they saw a young woman who looked a year or two younger than Daniel . Had long light blackish hair, with slightly tanned skin and green eyes. There was also a dark skinned man with a bald head and blue eyes.
The man was wearing a shirt similar to Daniel's , only it was green and blue instead of black and blue.
"This is my fiancee Serina, and my good friend Thomas". Serina and Thomas turned towards them.
"Hello, fan's of yours Daniel" Serina said.
"Most of them yes, but this is professor Oak. He's the one who got me started on my journey" Daniel said.
"Oh professor Oak. So nice to finally meet you, Daneil's told me so many good things about you" Serina said.
"Nice to meet you as well Serina" Oak said. Daniel introduced Serina and Thomas to everyone else.
"So nice to meet you all" Serina said.
"So Daniel if you don't mind me asking, what have you been doing these last few years and what made you come out of retirement?" Alexa asked.
"What I was doing I'd rather keep to myself. But I can say that every moment I did it that I longed to return to this life. Recently I decided it was time for me to return to the life I loved living".
"That battle tonight was the most incredible battle I've ever seen" Ash said.
"Your Charizard has to be the most powerful pokemon in the world. May we see him?" Red said.
" Well I suppose" Daniel said as he took out his Charizard's Pokeball and let him out. The massive Charizard came out and nearly hit the ceiling.
"Graww" Charizard growled.
"Wow" Ash and Red said.
"Charizard was my first pokemon. Almost 15 years ago I came to Pallet town , so excited to start my journey. Professor Oak showed me a Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander. They all looked amazing, but I was unsure of which one I wanted. When I gave them a closer look there was something about the Charmander. It was like we had already knew that we wanted to travel and train together. So I chose him and we became partners".
"Graw" Daniel's Charizard growled as he lowered his head and licked the side of his trainer's head.
"You know I chose a Charmander as my first pokemon" Red said.
"I thought you started here in Kalos?".
"I did, but Sycamore had the Kanto starters too, and I already knew I wanted a Charmander" Red said.
"I have a Charizard too" Ash said.
"I was unaware Charmanders were so common in Kalos" Thomas said.
"Well we'd love to see them" Daniel said.
"Isn't this room already crowded" Alex whispered to Delia.
Ash and Red let their Charizards out. When they saw Daniel and his Charizard their eyes widened.
"Graw" Red's Charizard growled in amazement.
Daniel's Charizard moved his head closer to the two younger and smaller Charizards. He looked at them closely and smiled.
"Graww" he growled.
"Charizard thinks they're very impressive for how old they are and that they both remind him of himself. I agree with him" Daniel said.
"Really!" Red said.
"Graw!" His charizard growled in excitement.
"Yes really" Daniel said as his Charizard nodded.
As Ash saw Charizard up close he could more clearly see the piece of black metal around the top of Charizard's neck. It looked almost like a a collar or necklace, but Ash was certain of it now. Imbedded in the center of the necklace was a Charizite X stone.
"Red , Korrina, He has Charizite X" Ash said through an aura message. Red and Korrina looked closer and saw it too.
"You're right Ash! Does this mean Daniel's an Aura guardian?" Red said.
"I don't know I mean, I haven't heard about him being an Aura guardian"Korrina said.
"Just because you don't hear a man's name from others, it doesn't mean he isn't in the brotherhood". Ash , Red , and Korrina were speechless when they realized the aura message they all just heard was from Daniel. All three of them turned to him, but didn't hear anything else.
"Did you hear that too?" Ash said.
"Yes". After another few minutes of conversation with Daniel, Serina, and Thomas. The group had to leave the castle.
"It was nice meeting you all. Good luck on all of your journeys" Daniel said.
"It was such an honor meeting you!" Gary said.
"Yeah, I hope we can meet again some day" Ash said.
"Me too" Daniel said. A few minutes later the group was outside the castle.
"Well we should probably get back to our hotel. It was good seeing you all again" Oak said.
"See ya later, make sure you get to catching more pokemon boys" Gary said as he walked off with his grandfather.
"Well I should get back to the lab. Good seeing you kids again" Sycamore said before he walked off.
"It was very good spending the day with you Serena. I wish we had more time, but I need to return to duty tomorrow" Alex said.
"It was good seeing you again too dad" Serena said before she gave him a hug. Alex walked off towards the Kalos army base.
"I'll see you tomorrow Delia. We've got a hell of a story to write" Alexa said.
"I'm looking forward to it" Delia said as Alexa walked off.
"We should get back too. We'll see you guys in the morning when we're ready to leave" Clemont said.
"Leave! That's right" Red said realizing that he and Korrina would have to part ways again.
"Well we should get home. You kids should rest up before heading out again" Delia said.
"Right, see you tomorrow Clemont" Ash said as the two groups parted ways. Above them, Felix was looking down at them from a ledge on a building.
"Well , quite a night. They're so close to completing their training. So close to learning the truth. Maybe Daniel is right, maybe I can be with them and still be a guardian".

Well you finally got to meet Daniel Rian, if any of you read my others stories you probably knew who he was when I introduced him. Though I did change him up a little for this story. The truth behind Daniel Rian is that he was the first fictional pokemon character I came up with years ago and what inspired me to write a fanfiction on pokemon.
Also tomorrow I will be leaving for Florida and I may or may not have wifi there. If I don't it could be a week or so before the next chapter is posted.
The last poll was much closer than the previous ones. But in the end just a few more people wanted only Brock to travel with Ash and Serena. So in the sequel Misty won't be traveling with the group. However, that doesn't mean there won't be a another girl in the group. Who knows maybe Brock will get "Lucky" and be "Shipped". If you know what I mean.
