Chapter 42: Fairy pokemon
It was late in the evening just outside Laverre city and Ash was practicing with Serena. He knew that he would be facing off against fairy types when he arrived , so he was having Pikachu go against Spritzee.
"Pikachu quick attack!".
"Pika Pika pika!" Pikachu said as he sprinted forward.
"Spritzee fly up to avoid it!". Spritzee started flying up as Pikachu came forward. Just before Pikachu could reach Spritzee, he leapt up high enough to smash Spritzee back and into the ground.
"Great job Pikachu" Ash said as Pikachu landed.
"Spritzee use Draining kiss". Spritzee got up and ran over to Pikachu with his beak puckered up.
"Pikachu use agility". Every time Spritzee got close to Pikachu, the electric mouse pokemon quickly used his agility to move out of the way.
"Slam!". When Pikachu landed behind Spritzee , he hurled himself forward and slammed into him, knocking Spritzee forward a few feet.
"Sprtizee use Moonblast!". When Spritzee got up he turned around and unleashed a massive burst of white energy.
"Pikachu Electro ball before a hard strike". Pikachu hurled his tail forward and unleashed a ball of electricity before leaping up into the air. The Electroball crashed into Moonblast and tore through it , exploding on the ground in front of Spritzee. The force knocked Spritzee back and made him stumble.
Just as the smoke cleared Serena saw Pikachu coming down at Spritzee with his tail.
"Spritzee no! Use Fairy wind!" Sprtizee tried to get up and use fairy wind, but was too late. Pikachu came down and smashed his Iron tail into Spritzee, knocking him out.
"Alright great work Pikachu!" Ash said as Pikachu landed.
"Spritzee return, there's no shame in loosing to Pikachu" Serena said as she returned Spritzee. She came over to Ash and Pikachu , who had climbed back onto Ash's shoulder.
"You know Spritzee isn't going to be as experienced as the gym leader's" Serena said.
"I know, that's why I also had Pikachu and Totodile do some extra training and sparing with Red".
"What pokemon is Red using?".
"He said he'd be using Noivern and Charizard".
"But aren't dragon's weak against Fairy types?" Serena said.
"He doesn't care, he wants to challenge himself".
"Hey Ash, I noticed you haven't used Lucario in a gym battle for a while. I mean the last time I saw you use him in a gym battle was against Grant".
"You're right, and I wanted to put him in the gym battle. But he said that he's had plenty of battle experience outside of gym battles. Remember he faced off against Electric Earl's mega Ampharos and Christians mega Scizor. Totodile has had plenty of training and a gym battle, but little experience outside with other battles. He thinks this battle would be good for Totodile, so I decided to use him in my next gym battle".
"I guess Lucario has had plenty of hard battles outside of gym battles. By the way thanks again for helping me prepare for my next tournament".
"It's no problem, you and Spritzee were plenty of help with getting Pikachu and I ready. Besides you need to give yourself more credit Serena. You've made it this far because of your own hard work and dedication too yourself and your pokemon. You made it to where you are Serena, not me".
"Aww you're so sweet" Serena said blushing before he leaned forward and gave him a kiss.
Elsewhere Red and Korrina were having a practice battle.
"Machoke use Cross Chop".
"Charizard Dragon claw, aim for the inside of his arms". Korrina's Machoke came forward with two of his arms and tried to chop Charizard. Red's Charizard brought his arms forward and up, blocking Machoke's arms by the inside.
"Grab his arms!". Machoke quickly used his other two arms and grabbed Charizard's arms, keeping him from using Dragon claw.
"Flamethrower!".
"Duck and hurl him over you!". Charizard opened his mouth and was about to unleash a massive jet of fire before Machoke ducked down and hurled Charizard over him.
"Steel wing , use the momentum to flip him!". As Charizard came over Machoke he turned his wings metal and forced them around. The resulting force plus the resulting force from the wing, coupled with Charizard's other wing smashing into the back of Machoke's legs, allowed Charizard to land on his feet and hurl Machoke over him and onto his back.
Before Machoke could get back up Charizard stomped his foot on his chest and slashed him across the face before smashing his wings into his upper chest. After the attacks ended, Machoke was unconscious with swirly eyes.
"Alright great work Charizard" Red said as Charizard roared in victory.
"Machoke return. Alright that was impressive, but keep in mind you're facing fairy types" Korrina said.
" I know, but we don't have any fairy types to practice against except Sprtizee, and Ash is battling him. I think Charizard and Noivern should have some battling practice before the match".
"I suppose. But why are you using your dragon types, they're going to be at a disadvantage".
"Exactly, if they can overcome pokemon they are weak against then it will only make them stronger. But I asked them too of they were comfortable with this". Charizard nodded.
"Well if you think you can do it, then go for it. You're one hardcore, yet caring trainer Red. I like that" Korrina said before giving him a short kiss. After the group met up again, they continued towards Laverre city. After an hour of walking they finally reached the edge of the city.
"We finally made it!" Serena said. The city had many moderately sized buildings with no large skyscrapers like in Lumoise. There were also a good number of trees and patches of grass within the city itself. From the hill they were on, the group could see the pokemon center and the battle Chateau.
"There's the Battle Chateau!" Serena said in excitement.
"When is the tournament?" Clemont said.
"The day after tomorrow".
"Woah , good thing we got here when we did" Red said.
"We should get to the pokemon center and have nurse Joy look at our pokemon before we look for the gym" Ash said.
"Good idea" Red said. The group made their way through the city and to the pokemon center. Once inside they gave their pokemon to nurse Joy and sat down at a booth to eat lunch.
"So the gym leader is a Fairy type trainer, but who is she again?" Ash said.
"Her name is Valerie, she was born in the Johto region I believe" Clemont said.
"That's right, she was. From what I hear about her, she loves everything that's beautiful and use to be a model" Korrina said.
"A model and a gym leader! Clemont she's made a perfect wife for you!" Bonnie said.
"Bonnie! You will not ask her to marry me! Do you understand!?" Clemont almost screamed.
"Father told me to find you a wife, and I will not disappoint him" Bonnie said. Clemont sighed and sweatdropped.
"Excuse me young man and woman, your pokeballs from Sycamore's lab arrived" Joy said.
"Alright" Red said as he and Serena got up and got their pokeballs.
"Zorua and Skarmory?" Korrina said.
"Yup, this guy needs some serious reeducation" Red said.
"Zorua come on out" Serena said as she let Zorua out of his pokeball. When Zorua came out , he saw the group in front of him.
"Aww it's Zorua!" Bonnie said. Zorua walked over to Bonnie and then shapeshifted into her.
"Wow he looks just like me!" Bonnie said. After another few minutes passed the group got the rest of their pokemon back from nurse Joy and finished their dinner before retiring to their rooms.
In Ash and Serena's room , Pikachu was already asleep on top of Ash's pillow as he came out of the bathroom. He saw Serena was already in bed facing away from him.
"Serena you can take a shower now" Ash said. Serena didn't respond.
"Serena?" Ash said as he walked over and got into the bed. He noticed that she had a sad and somewhat concerned look on her face.
"Serena are you ok?". He said as he tried to read her aura. Something was very wrong, he couldn't feel her aura at all.
"Serena are you worried about something? Your tournament, Serena you're going to be fine. I told you that you've worked hard for this and that you're going to do great" Ash said. Serena's expression didn't change.
"Serena there's nothing to be scared about" Ash said as he lowered his head and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Not a moment later, the door opened and Serena walked in.
"Hey Ash, Clemont wasn't using his shower so I" Serena started when she saw Ash and herself.
"Huh? What the!?" Ash said as he backed away from the Serena in bed. The Serena next to Ash turned around and then began changing her form, revealing it was Zorua.
"Zorua!" Ash shouted. Zorua gave a laugh before jumping down from the bed.
"That's not funny" Ash said.
"Oh come on it's a little funny" Serena said as Zorua ran over and jumped into her arms. Ash sighed before he laid back down and Serena laid down next to him. Zorua laid down on the foot of the bed.
When Ash was certain that it was the real Serena next to him, he put his arm around her and pulled Serena closer to him. When Serena's head was resting against Ash moved his head closer and gave her a short kiss on the cheek.
The next morning after having breakfast, the group made their way to the gym. The gym exterior looked like a normal pokemon gym, but when they got inside they were quite surprised.
The gym entrance seemed like a well done bedroom with a bed and everything. Waiting in the room was a young woman with reddish hair wearing a pink dress.
"Hello and welcome to the Laverre city gym. My name is Tammy , I'm one of Valerie's students. Are you here to challenge her?".
"Yes, my brother and I are here to challenge her" Ash said.
"Very good, follow me" Tammy said. The girl lead them through a door to a hallway. The group noticed that the hallway's color changed 3 times as they walked through it. When Serena walked by some of the doorways , she noticed that each one was another bedroom with a different color scheme and a pair of trainers battling each other.
After another minute they reached a large room unlike the others. This one was mostly empty with clear colored walls and large battlefield in the center. On the other side of the battlefield was what looked like a pedestal. Standing in the pedestal was a young woman , maybe two or three years older than Ash or Red.
The young woman had long black hair and gray eyes. She wore a pink ceremonial robe with large wing shaped sleeves.
"Valerie, these boys are here to challenge you" Tammy said. Valerie turned to the group and slowly approached them. She gave a respectful bow to them before raising her large sleeves.
"Welcome challengers, I am the astounding Valerie. Gym leader of Laverre city".
"Pleasure to meet you Valerie. I'm Ash and this is my partner Pikachu" Ash said.
"I'm his brother Red".
"I'm Serena".
"I'm Korrina, Shalour city gym leader".
"I'm Clemont , Lumoise city gym" Clemont started before remembering what Bonnie had said the previous day. He quickly turned to his side, but thankfully saw Bonnie was still standing next to him.
"Whew" He said.
"Hello miss" Bonnie said appearing out of no where next to Valerie.
"Would you please marry my brother!" Bonnie said getting on one knee.
"What!?" Clemont shouted as he looked at both Bonnies. That was then the Bonnie next to Clemont transformed and revealed himself as Zorua.
"Zorua!" Clemont shouted. Zorua closed his eyes and laughed.
"Marry him?" Valerie said.
"Forget she said it!" Clemont said sweat dropping as he grabbed Bonnie and pulled her back.
"Uhh ok" Valerie said sweat dropping.
"So Valerie, we haven't seen many fairy types before. I have a Spritzee, but other than that we don't know much about them" Serena said.
"Fairy types are the most amazing pokemon ever" Valerie said as she closed her eyes for a moment before opening them and looking up.
"Fairy types give a level of elegance and beauty un matched by any other pokemon type. The way they use their moves and how they battle" Valerie said.
"I can't wait to see your pokemon in battle!" Serena said.
"Me too!" Bonnie said.
"So who will I be facing first?" Valerie said.
"We'll be going first" Ash said.
"Very well, Tammy would you mind officiating the match?".
"Of course" Tammy said. As Ash took his position at one end of the battlefield, Valerie took her position at the end. The rest of the group was on the end closer to Ash.
" The battle between gym leader Valerie and challenger Ash is about to begin. Each trainer is allowed two pokemon. Once both pokemon have been knocked out , that trainer is out. Only the challenger may make substitutions. Trainer's choose your pokemon".
"Mawile take the stage!" Valerie shouted as she hurled a pokeball from her sleeve. A short, bipedal Pokémon with a pale yellow body and black arms and feet, came out. Its legs had a thick, fur-like covering resembling hakama or a skirt. Its most notable feature is a pair of large black jaws emerging from the back of its head. These jaws had an oval yellow spot on their top surface and contain ten pointed teeth - six on the top row and four on the bottom. It had red eyes and two black ear-like extensions on either side of its head.
"Mawile?" Ash said opening his pokedex.
"Mawile, the Deceiver Pokémon. Mawile's horns form a huge set of jaws strong enough to chew up an iron beam."
"Alright I choose you Totodile!" Ash's Totodile came out and began dancing around.
"A Totodile in Kalos?".
"It's a long story" Ash said.
"In any case, Mawile start off with Fairy wind".
"Totodile use Ice fang to dig into the ground". Totodile's fangs grew ice on them before he bit into the ground. Meanwhile Mawile unleashed a harsh pink wind at Totodile. Totodile's powerful jaws and the ice allowed him to remain on the ground despite the wind. However, he still took a little damage from the wind itself.
"Water gun!". Totodile quickly got up and unleashed a jet of water from his mouth.
"Mawile use Swallow" Mawile turned around and opened the massive mouth on the back of her head. The water went right into Mawile's mouth until it was filled. Once it was the mouth swallowed.
"Wow probably should have seen that one coming" That was when Ash noticed some of the water landed on the ground in front of Mawile.
"That could work. Alright Totodile use Water gun again". Totodile opened his mouth and unleashed another jet of water towards Mawile who opened her back mouth and began taking the water in.
"I don't get it Ash already tried that?" Serena said.
"He must be planning something" Red said.
"Now use Aqua tail!" Totodile rushed forward as fast as he could with water spinning across his tail.
"There it is, intercept him with Iron head". Mawile's back mouth turned metal as she hurled it at Totodile.
"Totodile slide on the ground!". It was then Valerie realized the water from the water gun had made the ground in front of Mawile all wet. Totodile leapt onto his stomach and slid narrowly under the Iron head. He then spun his tail around and smacked it into Mawile's chest, hurling her back several feet.
"Direct hit! Great job Totodile!".
"Dile!" Totodile said as he danced happily in the puddle.
"So that's what he was planning" Korrina said.
"Great job Ash!" Serena said.
"Impressive move Ash, but Mawile and I are far from beaten" Valerie said as her Mawile got right back up.
"Use Fairy wind". Mawile whipped up a powerful pink wind and unleashed it at Totodile.
"Ice fang on the ground!" Just like last time Totodile bit the ground and hung on while taking a little damage.
"Keep using Fairy wind and move forward". Mawile began moving like a ballerina as she made her way closer to Totodile.
"I see what she's doing. She's using the wind to get closer, but I can't just have him let go or he'll get hurled back against a wall and take full damage. We'll have to try and time it just right" Ash said.
"Pika!".
"Play Rough".
"Totodile let go!". Totodile quickly let go of the ground and started flying away until he was caught just in time by Mawile's massive jaws.
"Uh oh" Ash said as Totodile nervously sweat dropped. Mawile smiled before she slammed him into the ground and jumped on him and roughed him up.
"Hang on Totodile!".
"Pika Pikachu!".
"That looks rough, I hope he's ok" Serena said holding her hands close to her face. After another hit Totodile was hurled back a few feet and landed on his stomach.
"Perfect now use Play Rough again".
"Totodile back into Watergun!" As Mawile lunged forward, Totodile got up and backflipped away from Mawile, leaving her and her trainer dumbstruck.
"He can backflip?" Valerie said. As soon as Totodile landed he blasted Mawile across the chest with water.
"Wile" Mawile said as she was drenched in water.
"Quick use your mouth to swallow it!".
"Aqua tail!". Just as Mawile turned around to open her mouth, Totodile hurled himself forward and smashed her across the face.
"Great job!".
"Pika!".
"He's got it now!" Red said.
"Keep it up Ash , Totodile!" Serena said.
"Mawile Fairy wind!". As soon as Mawile got back onto her feet she unleashed a harsh pink wind.
"Totodile dig in" Ash said gritting his teeth. As much as he didn't want to tell him to do that again, there was no other way he could avoid the full damage.
Totodile bit into the ground and braced himself as the wind hit him. Bonnie noticed that Totodile looked like he was in pain .
"I don't get it why does he look hurt?" Bonnie said.
"Because that wind itself is still doing damage and this is the third one" Korrina said.
"Mawile use Playrough ".
"Get back!". Totodile leapt back just enough to avoid the attack.
"Fairy wind!". Mawile unleashed fairy wind and lifted Totodile up into the air.
"Oh no!".
"Pika!".
"Play rough!" Mawile dropped Totodile onto the ground and leapt onto him , roughing him up.
"This isn't good, I don't know how much more Totodile can take" Red said.
"Hold on Totodile! I know you can do it!" Serena said.
"Totodile Ice fang!". Just as Mawile raised her back jaw, Totodile bit down on Mawile's jaw and held her in place.
"Wile?" Mawile said nervously sweating.
"Hurl her and then use Aqua tail!". Totodile hurled Mawile over his head and smashed her into the ground. he then hurled her into the air and smashed his tail into her head, knocking her out.
"Mawile!".
"Mawile is unable to battle" Tammy said.
"Alright we did it Totodile!" Ash said.
"Dile!" Totodile said happily dancing around.
"Mawile return, you battled excellently. Well Ash I'm impressed with you and your Totodile. But I still have an ace up my sleeve" Valerie said before throwing out another pokeball.
The pokemon was a quadruped, mammalian Pokémon covered primarily in pale cream-colored fur with pinkish feet, ears, and tail. There were two bows on it, one on its left ear and one around its neck, from which two feelers adorn it. The bows were pale cream with pinkish centers, while the feelers are pale cream with pinkish and blue tips. It had short, slender legs and small paws with three visible toes on each foot. Its eyes were blue with white pupils and no visible sclera. When its mouth was open, two pointed teeth could be seen on its upper jaw. Its furry pinkish tail is slightly curved in a crescent shape.
"Syl" it said.
"What is that?" Ash said opening his pokedex.
"Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokémon and an evolved form of Eevee. Sylveon affectionately wraps its ribbon-like feelers around its trainer's arms as they walk together."
"An eeveelution" Ash said.
"It's so cute!" Bonnie said with stars in her eyes.
"That's a pokemon i'd like to catch" Serena said.
"Totodile use Water gun".
"Sylveon use attract". Just before Totodile could unleash water gun, Sylveon's eyes turned more pink as she gave Totodile a seductive wink. Totodile's eyes turned to hearts as he danced and spun around with her paws close together.
"Oh no , Totodile's fallen in love" Red said.
"That's actually kind of cute" Serena said.
"It won't be when he won't attack" Korrina said.
"Totodile quick snap out of it!" Ash said.
"Pika Pikachu!".
"Sylveon ,it appears he likes you, go over there and give him a big kiss". Sylveon rushed over to Totodile who still had hearts in his eyes. When she reached Totodile, Sylveon planted a powerful kiss on the front of his snout. As soon as she did, Totodile felt what energy he had get sucked away.
"Dile" he said before falling over with swirly eyes.
"Totodile is unable to battle" Tammy said.
"What?" Ash said as Pikachu looked just as confused.
"It was Draining kiss" Valerie said.
"The kiss knocked him out?" Red said.
"Oh come on Red, kisses can be that powerful" Korrina said.
"No they can't".
"Really" Korrina said before grabbing him but he shoulder and giving him a long kiss. When she withdrew , Red looked a little wobbly.
"You-u see nothing" Red said.
"Totodile return, you were awesome out there. Alright Pikachu are you ready?".
"Pika!" Pikachu said as he leapt down from Ash's shoulder.
"Alright start with Fairy wind".
"Pikachu dig in like you did with Viola!". As Sylveon unleashed a harsh pink wind, Pikachu dug himself into the ground with Iron tail. While Sylveon's Fairy wind was powerful, Pikachu's endurance and defense stats were much higher than that of Totodile. Thus he was easily able to endure the wind itself.
"Pikachu Thunderbolt!".
"Pika Chu!". He shouted as he unleashed a powerful burst of electricity,
"Dodge it!". Sylveon quickly leapt out of the way with incredible speed and agility.
"Quick attack!". Pikachu sprinted forward while Sylveon was still in the air, and slammed into her just as she hit the ground.
"Nice job Pikachu". Sylveon got up and shook off the attack.
"Impressive Ash, but we have plenty of surprises left. Sylveon use Quick attack".
"You're faster than her Pikachu, use quick attack and Agility". Pikachu sprinted forward after Sylveon. As Sylveon sprinted forward, Pikachu sprinted after her and made several leaps over and around her with his agility. It became quite clear to Valerie that Ash had trained his Pikachu very well. Pikachu was clearly faster and more agile than even her Sylveon. But perhaps she could use that to her advantage.
"Sylveon try to get around him". Sylveon moved to the side , but Pikachu quickly leapt up and over her with great agility. Unfortunately, this was exactly what Valerie wanted.
"Fairy wind!". Sylveon turned right to Pikachu and unleashed a powerful pink wind that swept him up. Because Pikachu was in the air, there was nothing he could do to avoid it.
"Oh no" Ash said.
"Sylveon use Moonblast". Sylveon's eyes began glowing as she opened her mouth and unleashed a powerful burst of white energy at Pikachu.
"Pikachu Thunderbolt!".
"Pika chu!" Pikachu shouted as he unleashed a powerful Thunderbolt that hit the Moonblast.
"Watch his falling path" Valerie said. As the Thunderbolt and Moonblast clashed they exploded in the air causing a thick black cloud of soot. Moments after Pikachu landed he was hit and knocked back by a second Moonblast.
"Pika!" Pikachu said as he hit the ground.
"How did she do that?" Bonnie said.
"Sylveon must has seen the path Pikachu was falling in" Red said.
"Pikachu get up!". Pikachu quickly got up and shook off the attack. When Valerie saw the look of determination on Pikachu's face, she was surprised at his endurance. He had taken a direct hit with Sylveon's most powerful attack , but looked fine.
"Pikachu quick attack, stay close to the ground" Ash said not wanting to give Sylveon another chance to lift Pikachu into the air.
"Sylveon use sand attack". As Pikachu got closer, Sylveon splashed a burst of sand right into his eyes.
"Pikachu stay calm and listen to my direction" Ash said. Pikachu stayed calm despite not being able to see, thanks to his training with Felix and Ash, his other senses were very sharp so he still had an idea of what was ahead of him.
"Pikachu keep ahead like you are, but make a sharp turn right in a few seconds" Ash said through an aura message. Through his aura connection with Ash, Pikachu and his trainer were in great sync. Pikachu sprinted after Sylveon as she tried to get some distance between herself and Pikachu. Unfortunately, with his other senses and Ash's direction, Pikachu got back to Sylveon and made a sharp turn right.
"Aim low and sweep around!". Pikachu aimed his head low and swept around in the ground under Sylveon's legs. When he did, Sylveon was knocked off the ground and landed on her side.
"Thunderbolt right behind you!".
"Sylveon get up!". Pikachu got right back up and turned to Sylveon.
"Pika chu!" Pikachu shouted as he unleashed Thunderbolt, filling Sylveon with electricity.
"Alright Pikachu!" Red said.
"They're so amazing!" Serena said.
"Great work Pikachu" Ash said as Pikachu cleared his eyes of sand.
"That's one skilled Pikachu, if his physical abilities and senses are that good we're going to have to play our trump card" Valerie said to herself.
As Sylveon got up she turned right to Pikachu.
"Sylveon use attract!".
"Pikachu look away!" Ash shouted. Unfortunately he was too late, Sylveon's eyes turned more pink as she gave Pikachu a seductive wink. Pikachu's eyes turned to hearts as he leaned his head forward.
"Oh no" Ash said face-palming.
"Not again" Serena said.
"Sylveon use Draining kiss".
"Pika you have to snap out of it!" Ash shouted. Sylveon came over and planted a kiss on Pikachu's lips. She felt her own energy replenish as Pikachu's energy drained. When she stopped Pikachu stumbled backwards.
"Moon blast".
"Pikachu look out!" Ash shouted. Pikachu was still infatuated with Sylveon and didn't move as she unleashed a massive burst of white energy that hurled Pikachu back.
"Dam it" Ash said.
"This isn't good, if Pikachu can't snap out of it he's going to get knocked out" Red said.
"Come on Pikachu!" Serena shouted.
"Sylveon another Moon blast please" Valerie said.
"Pikachu come on, get up" Ash said as he reached out to Pikachu through their aura connection. When Pikachu felt Ash's presence he snapped out of the infatuation and saw the Moon blast.
"Pika!" He shouted as he leapt forward just in time to avoid the Moon blast.
"Quick attack!" Pikachu sprinted forward and smashed into Sylveon before she could move after using Moon blast.
"Iron tail!".
"Sylveon look out!". Sylveon tried to get up but was too late, Pikachu leapt forward and smashed his metal tail across Sylveon's face.
"Syl" Sylveon said with swirly eyes.
"Sylveon is unable to battle, the winner is the challengers" Tammy said.
"We won Pikachu! We did it!".
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted as he ran back into Ash's arms.
"Alright great job Ash" Red said.
"I knew him and Pikachu could do it" Serena said. Valerie returned her Sylveon and walked over to Ash.
"Very impressive Ash, very impressive. Your pokemons' skills are a clear indication of your skills as a trainer. You certainly deserve this badge" Valerie said as she opened her hand a revealed a badge.
The badge was shaped almost like an orange slice but was pink with yellow lines.
" Thanks Valerie" Ash said as he took the badge and let Pikachu hold it. Ash and Valerie walked over to the group on the side.
"Great work Ash, you and Pikachu were awesome" Serena said.
"So Red, would you like to battle now. I still have another two pokemon just as powerful as the ones Ash faced" Valerie said.
"Oh yeah, my pokemon are more than ready " Red said.
"Good, let's go". Red stood on one end of the battlefield as Valerie stood on the other.
"You got this Red!" Korrina shouted.
"Alright I choose you Noivern!" Red shouted as his Noivern came out a roared .
"A Noivern against my Fairys?" Valerie said.
" We like a challenge" Red said as his Noivern nodded.
"Alright, sounds good. Go Mr. Mime" Valerie said as a Mr. Mime a little bigger than the one Delia had.
"Mr. Mime" he said.
"Alright Noivern start with Steel wing". Noivern roared as he flew up and turned his wings metal.
"Mr. Mime use Psychic". Mr. Mime's Eyes glowed red as he blasted Noivern with a blast of telekinetic energy. Noivern was hit with the Psychic grit his teeth and endured it. Noivern snarled as he flew down and tried to smash Mr. Mime with his wings.
"Dodge it!". Mr. Mime lurched back just in time to avoid Noivern. He probably wouldn't have been able to if the Psychic hadn't slowed Noivern down.
"Mr. Mime use Psybeam".
"Noivern Steel wing , cover yourself". Noivern covered himself with his metal wings as Mr. Mime's eyes glowed red and he unleashed a beam of Psychic energy. The Psychic energy was deflected off the metal wings.
Noivern's metal wings kept him mostly unharmed, plus his natural endurance allowed him to keep moving forward.
"Steel wing!".
"Double team!". Noivern hurled his wings forward , but as soon as he hit Mr. Mime he vanished.
"What?" Serena said.
"She used double team" Korrina said. A dozen copies appeared around Noivern as the massive dragon tried to identify the real one.
"Dazzling gleam". Mr. Mime generated a dozen pink gleams and hurled them into Noivern's back.
"Noi!" Noivern grunted.
"Dam that was really effective too" Red said to himself.
"Noivern into the air" Noivern kicked off the ground and flew into the air.
"Dazzling gleam!". Mr. Mime unleashed a series of pink gleams at Noivern.
"Noivern cover yourself with Steel wings". Noivern quickly flew through the air and avoided some of the gleams, while deflecting some of the others with his wings. Noivern then flew down at Mr. Mime.
"Confusion". Mr. Mime's eyes glowed blue as he caught Noivern and help him in place.
"Oh no" Korrina said.
"Noivern you have to break free!" Red shouted. Noivern tried desperately to break free.
"Dazzling gleam". Mr. Mime unleashed a series of gleams into Noivern's exposed stomach.
"Noivern!" Red shouted as Noivern hit the ground hard.
"Come on Noivern you can keep fighting!" Korrina said.
"Noivern you beat Skarmory , you can beat him!". Noivern grit his teeth and for up before growling.
"Alright! Noivern into the air" . Noivern flew into the air and turned his wings metal before flying down at Mr. Mime.
"Confusion" Mr. Mime help Noivern in place with his psychic energy.
"Why would Red do that again?" Serena said.
"He must be planning something" Ash said.
"Noivern use Dragon pulse!".
"What? But dragon moves won't have any effect?" Clemont said. Noivern opened his mouth and blasted the ground near Mr. Mime's feet. The resulting force caused Mr. Mime to be knocked off balance. Noivern was now free and he flew down at Mr. Mime before smashing his wings into Mr. Mime's face.
After the collision Mr. Mime was on the ground unconscious.
"Mr. Mime is unable to battle".
"Great work Noivern!" Red shouted.
"Grouu!" Noivern roared despite his exhaustion.
"That was quite a turn around" Serena said.
"It was a god idea using Dragon pulse like that. Red really thought it through".
"I'm so proud of him" Korrina said.
"Mr. Mime return, you had him on the ropes. You performed very well. Alright Red you seem to also be very skilled. Unfortunately my next pokemon is also my most powerful" Valerie said smiling as she took out a pink pokeball and threw it forward.
A Pokémon came out whose green lower body resembled a mermaid's tail with two large leaves blooming on either side of the flukes. Its upper body was white and slender, with sylphlike arms that end in three dainty fingers; it had two black, diamond-like shapes on each side of its svelte torso. Its head was rounded with a pointed, upturned nose and long teardrop-shaped ears, while its dark-colored eyes are framed by lengthy green lashes.
"What is that?" Ash said.
"It's beautiful" Serena said with stars in her eyes. Red opened his pokedex and aimed it at the pokemon.
"Florges the Garden claims exquisite flower gardens as its territory, and it obtains power from basking in the energy emitted by flowering plants.".
"This one's a pure fairy type. Noivern return, you've done enough" Red said as he returned his Noivern.
"Alright show her your true strength. I choose you Charizard!" Red shouted as he threw Charizard's pokeball forward. Charizard roared as he came out of his pokeball and smashed his feet into the ground.
Florges didn't seem intimidated by Charizard as he growled at her.
"Charizard Flamethrower to get yourself closer!". Charizard roared as he leapt into the air and unleashed a furry of flames.
" Petaldance with FlowerShield". Florges smiled as she twirled herself around as she unleashed a thick sheet of petals around her. She then covered herself with a set of large flower petals.
The Flamethrower burned through most of the petals, but was slowed down and lessened in power before reaching the Shield around Florges. The shield was burned off , but Florges was unharmed.
Charizard had already turned his wings metal and made a sharp turn down at Florges with his wings ready to stike.
"Double team". Florges made a dozen copies of herself and surrounded Charizard as he smashed into one of the copies.
"MoonBlast". All of the copies unleashed a white blast of energy as Charizard tried to figure out which was the real Florgres. The real Moonblast hit Charizard, but he didn't even seem bothered by it. Not only was the attack very ineffective against Charizard's type, but his defensive stats were incredibly high.
"Charizard hit them all with a fire sweep". Charizard blasted the ground in front of him with a burst of fire then swept it around with a whip of his wings.
"Flower Shield". The Florges covered themselves in flower petals as the fire swept around and destroyed all of the copies. When the fire hit Florges, it burned the petals off but Florges was once again safe.
"Florges use Grass knot and Psychic". Florges quickly backed away before a pair of grass knots wrapped around Charizard's feet.
"Charizard Steel wing" Charizard covered himself with his wings before being blasted with a wave of psychic energy. Normally Charizard could have backed up a bit to keep himself sound, but because of the grass knot he lost his balance and stumbled backwards leaving his chest exposed.
"Psychic". Florges blasted Charizard with another burst of Psychic energy, hurling him onto his back.
"That Florges is really skilled" Clemont said.
"Red will have to think this through" Ash said.
"Come on Red, Charizard. If you can land a hit you'll probably knock her out!" Korrina shouted.
"Charizard into the air" Charizard snarled as he got up and leapt into the air.
" Florges use Double team and Petal Dance". Florges made a dozen copies of herself around the room, who all unleashed a furry of flower petals that covered the entire battlefield with leaves.
"How will Charizard find Florges?" Bonnie said.
Red had to think this through. Charizard could connect with him using Aura, but he couldn't read other pokemon's aura. That meant there was no way he could find Florges except with brute force. He didn't like that idea, but he lad little choice.
"Air slash with Steel wing" Charizard roared as he flew in low, cutting through all of the petals in front of him with his claws and tore through each of the copies with his wings. The real Florges was behind Charizard and honed in on him.
"Psychic". Florges blasted Charizard in the back with a burst of psychic energy and hurled him into the ground again.
"Great shot Florges" Valerie said as Florges gave a confident twist of her petals. Charizard quickly got up and gave a confident smile-growl. Charizard looked completely unharmed.
"Huh?" Valarie said.
"Charizard can take a hit and more" Red said as Charizard roared.
"That's it boys!" Korrina yelled.
" Charizard right at her with Flare Blitz". Charizard snarled as he covered himself in fire , then jumped forward and glided close to the ground.
"Double team".
"Sweep them!" As Charizard sped forward he blasted the ground in front of him with fire and swept his wings around. The burst of air was hurled around Charizard destroying all of the copies and knocked Florges off balance.
"Flare Blitz! Charizard hurled himself forward and smashed Florges across the face using his flaming body with everything he had. Florges was hurled back and smacked into the ground.
"Florges!".
"Ges!" Florges said before falling unconscious.
"Florges is unable to battle, the winner is the challenger" Tammy said.
"We did it!" Red shouted before his Charizard turned around and picked Red up in his arms.
"He did amazing" Korrina said. Valerie returned her Florges before she walked over to Red and his Charizard.
"Very impressive Red, you and your Charizard are quite tenacious. Not my battle style but it worked for you. You both earned this" Valerie said as she handed him a fairy badge.
"Alright we have our sixth badge" Red said as he let Charizard hold it. Later that day the group was at the pokemon center in their respective rooms.
"Congratulations Red" Korrina said.
"Thanks Korrina, I've only got 2 more badges until the pokemon league. We're so close".
"Say Red , have you thought of what you're going to do when you've finished your journey?".
"What do you mean?".
"I mean what are you going to do when you've finished the pokemon league?".
"I guess I haven't thought too much about that. If I'd have to say, I'd probably keep training with my pokemon. I'd probably do some work with the brotherhood".
"What about us?" Korrina said.
"Korrina, when I'm done with my journey we'll be able to have all the time in the world together. Keep in mind we're both Aura guardians now, anytime I'm needed in the brotherhood we could do it together" Red said.
"That's right!" Korrina said excited. She took Red's hands with her own before giving him a kiss.
In another room Ash and Serena were laying beside each other in their bed with Pikachu asleep on the pillow above Ash.
"So you have your 6th badge and I have my next battle Chateau tomorrow" Serena said.
"Yeah that's true, I guess we're both getting closer to our final goals" Ash said.
"You know Ash, have you thought about what you want to do when you're done?" Serena said.
"Huh, you know I guess I haven't. I mean I knew I was going to have to do some stuff with the brotherhood. Plus I'll always keep training. What about you?" Ash said.
"I don't really know either. I guess I need to think more about what I want to do" Serena said.
"Well we'll always have each other when this is over. I'm not going anywhere" Ash said.
"That's good to know" Serena said blushing a little before she moved her head closer and kissed him.

So Ash and Red have their 6th gym badges. Plus Serena is about to have her 4th battle chateau. This story is moving closer two a few very large events.
You will see legendary pokemon but I'm afraid none of the characters will be catching them. Sorry but I'm just not into that.
