A/N: Thank you for all the reviews! The story is about to get very, very interesting *evil laugh*
By the way: I left a link on my profile of Allie's picture. Or at least, the closest thing to what I have in mind, check it out :D
COLBY THOMAS BLACK
Allie was discharged after only two days at the hospital, and as soon as we stepped into the Cullen mansion, Carlisle took off all her braces. Despite everyone's warnings, I sat down with her the day after the meeting, held her hand, looked her in the eyes and told her to focus on healing. If she could will her way subconsciously into everyone's gifts when convenient, with a little focus, maybe she could 'absorb' my healing power, which was even more powerful than your average wolf because of my vampire side. It took a while at first, because she was too nervous and too worried about me, but I was able to calm and convince her, and it worked.
I kept smiling at her the entire time even though I was feeling more and more tired by the second; with my healing being taken away, nothing was fighting against the days of exhaustion I'd had. I also had the strongest thirst for blood since the day I was born. Her eyes lit up as her body got to healing itself, and in about eight hours, her bones were fully healed. Carlisle was able to X-ray her, discretely and she was as good as new. Her head was starting to heal as well, but Carlisle urged us to stop the exchange of powers and let it heal on its own - partly because she needed to have another procedure and it would be just too suspicious to have it only two days after her surgery, but mostly because he was afraid the healing power would interfere with the medicine somehow, and she would seize again.
She could walk and move freely again now, but her body was still worn from all the changes, and her head was still wrapped up and vulnerable. She was focused not to tap into my, or anyone's, abnormal healing, or physical strength, because, and I quote, "You looked like someone ran you over with a truck, Colby."
We still had the cottage to ourselves, at least until she fully healed; it was quiet and we would have been the only ones in the mansion that actually slept. We agreed, though, that once she was healed we would move in with them, mostly for her sake. She needed to have a family - to feel like she belonged somewhere. She sat next to me on the couch facing the TV, leaning on my chest, her hand on my stomach. She was wearing a crop top with leggings so tight and smooth it was hard not to run my hand over her thighs all night, but I didn't. I told her we'd have to be super careful around each other these days for the sake of her head; when I touched her it was hard not to let the wolf in me take over for the most part, and I might hurt her and realize it a second too late. I was being the perfect model of self control, but she was such a tease.
She ran her hand up and down my abs, sometimes sneaking her hand under my T-shirt and pulling it up. I didn't stop her; maybe I was self controlled but I wasn't God. She turned her head to look at me, smiling, her hair falling from beneath the white stuff her head was wrapped in and resting on her cheek. "You once mentioned something about a cousin of your family - a Denali - who has the ability to identify powers," she said, "Why don't you take me sometime?"
I shrugged, licking my lips as her hands traveled dangerously close to the loose edge of my sweatpants. "Carlisle did call the Denalis, but Eleazer and Carmen had been gone for a few months on some long trip around the continent, they haven't heard from them in a couple of months."
She frowned. "Too bad," she said, "I want to know more about what I can do, you know?"
I ran my thumb on her cheek. "Yeah, sweetie," I said, "I know, it's too bad, but," I said, "I have something in mind that I think you'll like, though. It'll help you understand - and have a little fun while you're at it."
A lot of fun, actually. I rang up Benjamin, from the Egyptian coven, who could control the elements of nature in a physical manner, and told him all about Alison's newfound power. We were friends with him and Amun, Mom especially. They were very fond of her ever since the confrontation with the Volturi. They visited every once in a while, but this time, I was taking Allie to Egypt to see them instead. Amun was interested as well, since he was known to collect gifted vampires in his coven, but Benjamin was more than excited about it. We arranged for a trip in a couple of weeks, which was more than enough time for Allie to heal and rest.
"What is it?" she asked, her hand sneaking its way just beneath my sweats.
I caught her hands with mine, chuckling. "Shameless. Fucking shameless," I said, "So much for a virgin."
Her cheeks darkened, but her beautiful eyes were still set on mine. "You're the one who's holding back for no good reason."
I swept her up and changed our position so I was on top of her, knees on the couch, one hand supporting her waist, the other carefully holding the back of her neck, laying her gently on the cushion, leaning in to kiss her, sucking on her bottom lip, moving to kiss her jaw. My hand kept her head completely still as I traveled down her neck, pulling the neck of her crop top aside, kissing her shoulders. I pulled one hand from beneath her waist and ripped her top all the way, growling softly. She bit her lips as I pulled one strap of her bra down, biting her very lightly just right above her breast. She gasped and I grinned against her skin. I moved all the way to her face again, kissing her lips one more time before I pulled away, taking in the delicious sight of her flushed cheeks and amused eyes. I sat up, my knees on both sides of her and took off my shirt, she was about to move when I pinned her down, taking off her top completely. "Colby -" I shushed her, pulling her up against me, slipping my relatively huge shirt over her head, pulling it down as lightly as superhumanely possible. The shirt hung on her shoulders and she scowled at me, slipping her arms into the shirt. "You little bastard."
"Come on, go to bed," I said, pulling her to her feet, "You have a long day ahead of you tomorrow - first, the procedure, then we're having a re-introduction gathering with the pack and their families at the beach for you. Everyone will be there."
"Not everyone."
"I told the jerk he can see you and be near you if you want," I said, "Bryce's been improving a lot anyway, and I know you can take him now."
She picked up her torn top, rolling her eyes. How generous of you, she said mentally.
"Go!"
ALISON ANDERSON
I had the procedure done early in the morning, so I was off the anesthesia by eleven in the morning. Carlisle released me from the hospital, but not before making it look like a referral. My head was still vulnerable, but much less than before, since they took away the implant and re-inserted the removed piece from my skull. They also unwrapped it all and I was free to roam without looking like the descendant of a mummy. Alice got me a blue bandanna that went pretty well with my ripped jeans and loose white top. I put it on in the car, where I also had a bottle of fresh animal blood, as a way of slowly walking into a new diet.
We were at the reservation in no time, everyone was already at the beach - Paul, Rachel, Quil, Claire, Embry, Mary, Sam, Emily, Sarah, Randy, Bryce, Seth, Anna (his imprint), Rebecca, Colby's other aunt and Billy Black, whom I was surprised to see there. There were also others I didn't know quite well - Jared and Kim for example, and a number of pack members I wasn't fully aware of.
There was a lot of food and a lot of smiling - awkward, on my part. I knew most of those people but the staring at how much I changed, or the whispers about what had happened and how I jumped made me more and more willing to stick to Colby's side as if that would exempt me from having to talk to everyone. After a round of hello's and 'Awww, you two look so cute together', I ended up sitting in the corner, alone, as Colby chatted with his 'brothers'. Bryce came up to me and sat down on the sand, looking at me, his face apologetic. "Hey there."
I didn't know whether to smile at him or not - talk or not. I wasn't mad at him in any way, but it wasn't a pleasant situation, and we never got to talk about it anyway. I wasn't sure if we would have if Colby hadn't ordered him to stay away, so I just nodded.
"Look, I'm sorry about the other day," he said, "I was super confused, nothing made sense at the time and I-"
I shrugged. "It's okay. Really, I'm not mad at that."
"I know I hurt you though."
"I've obviously been through worse," I attempted to laugh, but it came out humorless, "It's what's everyone's talking about anyway." I saw Colby turn his head to look at me and roll his eyes before getting back into his conversation with Paul and Randy.
"It's not like that," he said, "They're just really worried."
I forgot about everything at that had happened between Bryce and I lately and only focused on the part where we were friends for a little while. "But, why?" I asked, "I mean, do they have to love me? Because of Colby?"
He shook his head. "No, the wolves are just bound to protect you, as one of our tribe," he said, "But no one has to care about you at all. They do it because you're obviously awesome."
I laughed. "Yeah, obviously."
"Did it scar though?"
"Errm, no, not really," I said, "It wasn't all that deep anyway."
He was silent for a moment and I leaned back on the sand, tired. "Can we be friends, Alison?"
"I really don't see why not," I said, "For one, Mr. Alpha Pants said it was okay for us to talk -" Idiot "- And we were good friends before, so why not?" I smiled at him.
He smiled back, "Cool, cool," he said, "Will you be going to school with us on the Rez here next fall?"
I didn't discuss the school situation with Colby yet, but if I was going to school I sure as hell wasn't going to 8th grade looking like that. Maybe I could study 8th and 9th at home then skip them somehow - the Cullens had their ways, always. I would have to put that on my to-do list. "I dunno," I said, "I'll let you know when I do, though."
"We're used to the weird growth spurts around here," he said, "It wouldn't be a problem picking up where you left off - that's what I'll be doing anyway."
But, would I be able to fully control my thirst around humans at all times that soon? That was another issue. But I couldn't speak of it to Bryce, or here anyway. I needed to keep that one for myself, seeing everyone was already not super comfortable around me. Maybe they were genuinely concerned, but it was awkward for them nevertheless.
Before I could respond, Colby called my name. I sat up and he motioned for me to join him. I excused myself and went to his side. Smiling, he wrapped an arm around my waist, looking at Billy, his grandfather, who was very old, but the look of pride whenever Colby spoke was unmistakable. "Everyone," he said, and all the attention was brought to us. A lot of smiling, welcoming faces. "It has been decided," he said, in a faux-formal tone, "As an..initiation gesture, of sorts," he said, "And since you're biologically and morally one of us now -" Paul gave me a slight punch in the shoulder, earning an eye roll from Rachel "- We've decided you would get your own tribal tattoo today."
My grin was ear-to-ear to say the least. "Seriously?!" He nodded. I squealed, much to everyone's surprise and hopped to hug him, wrapping my arms and legs around him. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I had been eyeing that tattoo for a while, and he must have known somehow, because, well, it looked freakishly awesome and those people here were going to be a huge part of my future, and I wanted to have something from their heritage. Well, other than the heart of the one true Alpha and whatnot.
Everyone was laughing, cheerful. Colby kissed my cheek and gently let me down, still wrapping an arm around my waist. "Let's go get you initiated, then," he said. I wondered if we were taking the Royce, but he said it would be more fun running there, get our lazy muscles moving again. After he made me promise to stop if I felt any kind of tiredness, we said goodbye to everyone and ran towards the woods, going to the tattooist on the other side of the Rez.
The feeling of the wind surging through my hair and all the freedom in the act of running, especially running with Colby, who was in his human form. In the middle of our run, though, Colby spotted something not so far away, heading towards us. We haltered to a stop when we saw who it was. I remembered it from the day Frederick paid us a visit. The day when I was alone in the woods, but this time it had no vampire next to it.
It was the wolf.
There (: I updated ASAP. Let me know how it was in a review please vv
