chapter 50: Korrina's challenge
It was 8:13 in the morning at the pokemon center when Red woke up. He yawned as he stretched his arms out and looked around. He noticed that Korrina had left the room.
Elsewhere just outside the city Korrina was sitting in a tree branch overlooking the city. Sitting beside Korrina was her Lucario. Korrina had a lot on her mind, she would finally had a chance to have a rematch with Olympia. Even after all that time , the day she lost to Olympia just after becoming a gym leader still haunted her.
"Everything alright" A familiar voice said. Korrina turned around to see Red who had climbed up and onto the branch.
"Red, how did you know I was up here?" Korrina said.
"Our aura connection, I'll always know where you are" Red said.
"Right" Korrina said.
"So is everything alright?".
"I don't know Red, I've been looking forward to a rematch with Olympia. But I keep remembering what happened the last time I faced her" Korrina said.
"Loosing to someone like her can't be easy".
"It wasn't just the fact that I lost , it's how I lost" Korrina said before she started to recall the battle.
Meinfoo fell to the ground unconscious as an exhausted Lucario stood before a Slowking and Meowstic.
"Lucario use Bonerush!". Her Lucario rushed over to Slowking as he raised his bone shaped club of aura energy.
"Meowstic Psychic!". Meowstic came up from behind Lucario and held him in place with her Psychic powers.
"Lucario!" Korrina shouted in fear.
"Zen headbutt" Olympia said. Slowking smashed his head into Lucario again and again as Lucario was held in place.
"No!" Korrina said. Her Lucario fell to one knee with a grim look on his face as he turned to his trainer. Korrina could see the disappointment and sorrow in Lucario's expression just before he fell over.
"Lucario!" Korrina shouted as she ran over to her pokemon and tried to help them up.
"Now you see how useless your technique is, battles are all about control. If you can't control the situation and your opponent's pokemon. That is why fighting type pokemon are so pathetic" Olympia said.
"That's not true!" Korrina said.
"No she's right" Another gym leader said as he walked up beside Olympia. He was slightly taller than Korrina with blonde hair, brown eyes and light skin. He wore white pants with a black sweatshirt, a purple scarf and a purple headband.
"You battling style is just brash and juvenile, only pokemon that can take control are any good. I can't believe they let someone like you be a gym leader, hell I wonder why people still catch fighting types" the young man said as Olympia nodded.
The other gym leaders who were watching the match saw Korrina's eyes tear up as she turned her face to the ground.
"That was the saddest day of my life since I lost my parents" Korrina said.
"That's so horrible, to think official gym leaders treated you like that. What did your grandfather have to say about that?".
"Before that day I never heard my grandfather curse someone to their face".
"I'm sorry that happened to you Korrina, but you can't let it loom over you like this for the rest of your life" Red said.
"It won't loom over me when I finally beat her today and prove her wrong about fighting types".
"Korrina what if you don't win?" Red said.
"You don't think I can win!?" Korrina said.
"I didn't say that! I'm just saying that this isn't the right way to get past this".
"So you're saying I should just forgive her for the way she treated me and how she still treats me" Korrina said.
"No, not exactly, I'm just saying that you should stop caring what she thinks. I mean she's just one gym leader. I mean you've got a lot more going for you than her. You're a gym leader and an aura guardian who works to protect pokemon and people across the world. Olympia's opinion shouldn't matter to you".
"You think I care what that ignorant, condescending , witch thinks! Dam it ,you just don't get it Red" Korrina said. Before Red could say anything else Korrina leapt down from the tree branch and onto another tree. Lucario gave Red an unpleasant look and followed his trainer.
Red sighed. His Charizard , who had been flying just below him, came up and tried to comfort him. Later that day the group was on their way to the battle chateau.
"So Korrina I was thinking we should talk more about our strategy for today" Serena said.
"Huh, oh right" Korrina said. As they walked Ash noticed that Red and Korrina seemed a little distant from each other.
"Hey Red, is everything alright?".
"Huh? What do you mean?".
"You and Korrina seem a little distant from each other". Red sighed.
"I don't know, she seemed a bit stressed out about her battle with Olympia today. I tried to calm her down by telling her to move on and not care what she thinks, but apparently something else was bothering her".
"You couldn't tell what is was through your aura connection with her?".
"I tried to, but It was like our connection was blocked a bit by her connection with Lucario. Obviously what happened between Korrina and Olympia greatly effected them both. I'm actually a little worried it will affect their performance today" Red said.
"It reminds me of that one time Serena and I had a fight at her tournament. My advice is be careful with what you say and try to be understanding of her point of view" Ash said.
A few minutes later the group made it to the battle chateau. Standing outside the gate was an older man wearing a a fine tailored suit.
"Welcome to the battle Chateau, I am James".
"I'm Countess Serena, this is Viscountess Korrina. We're here to enter in the tournament together" Serena said.
"Excellent, please enter and get changed" James said. A few minutes later Korrina was in the changing room staring at herself in the mirror with Lucario next to her. ""Sigh" , I can't believe I have to wear this again" Korrina said to Lucario. Lucario put his arm on his trainer's shoulder.
"Focus, I have more important things to worry about than this stupid dress". Serena came out in her dress holding Zorua in her arms and saw Korrina's very determined expression. Serena had also noticed that Korrina seemed a little obsessed with the upcoming battle, and was a little concerned.
"So Korrina, I noticed that you seem a bit uh stressed out about us potentially battling Olympia".
"Potentially! We're going to face them and plow them so far into the ground they won't know which way is up!" Korrina almost shouted. Serena sweat dropped.
"Korrina I think you might be taking this a little too seriously, I mean it's just a battle after all. No need to get like this".
"Oh I get it, Red got you to try and calm me down!" Korrina said as she angrily walked towards Serena. Serena slowly backed up as Zorua also got a bit scared.
"Easy Korrina Red didn't put me up to anything, I'm just saying".
"I'm just saying that we're going to beat that horrible woman and whoever he partner is, and if you're not going to take this seriously I'll do it myself!" Korrina said before storming out of the room.
"Just think , this could have been nice tournament with your boyfriend" Serena said before sighing.
"Zor" Zorua said nodding.
Outside the room Ash and the others were waiting. Red saw Korrina walk out of the room and slowly approached her.
"Korrina you look ama" Red started before Korrina pushed him out of the way.
" Don't patronize me Red, I have to focus!" Korrina said as her Lucario followed close behind.
"Pika?" Pikachu said very confused at Korrina and Lucario's current attitudes.
"Ok that is weird" Ash said. Serena came out of the changing room with a slightly scared expression.
"Serena are you ok?" Clemont said.
"I'm a bit freaked out, Korrina seems to be taking this too seriously. I know what happened between her and Olympia was bad, but she needs to let it go" Serena said.
"I don't know, I talked with her earlier and she said she didn't care what Olympia thinks" Red said.
"Apparently she does" Bonnie said.
"I actually don't think so, something else if going on with her. But she keeps blocking me out so I don't know what it is" Red said. A few minutes later the group was in the main lounge with the other members.
Serena was speaking with a pair of trainers she just met.
"So you won the Coumarine City tournament" One of the young men said.
"That's right it wasn't easy my pokemon were able to pull through and we got to the rank of Countess" Serena said.
"Nice, I haven't won any tournaments yet" the other trainer said.
"It's alright, the Coumarine City tournament is actually the only one I've won yet" Serena said.
"Besides Christen, we're winning tonight" The young man said.
"That's a very cute Zorua you have, where did you get him" Christen said as she petted the side of Zorua's head.
"It's actually a funny story" Serena said.
"Attention trainers, the tournament will begin in 30 minutes. Please make sure you and your partner are ready" James said over the intercom.
"So who's your partner Serena?" Christian said.
"Her name's Korrina".
"As in the Shalour city gym leader Korrina?" The young man said.
"Yeah that's her".
"How do you know Korrina?" Christian said.
"Well she's dating my boyfriend's brother" Serena said.
"Really?".
"Yeah, that's a long story" Serena started before Korrina walked up behind her.
"Serena we have 30 minutes, are you ready?" Korrina said in a pushy tone.
"Oh Korrina, I was" Serena started.
"Come on, we need to see who we're facing first" Korrina said.
"Wait a minute are you Korrina, the gym leader?" Christen said.
"Wow it's so nice to meet you" The young man started.
"Come on!" Korrina said as she dragged Serena away. Ash and the others saw this and got a little more worried. Red and the others walked over towards them.
"Korrina I was talking with them" Serena said.
"We have more important things to worry ab" Korrina said before she saw a pair of trainers ahead of her. One was none other than Olympia, the other was a young man. He was slightly taller than Korrina with blonde hair, brown eyes and light skin. He wore white pants with a black sweatshirt, a purple scarf and a purple headband.
"Well Olympia look who's here" The young man said. Serena also saw Olympia with the young man.
"Hey it's Olympia, is that her partner?" Serena said.
"Yes, that's Morty" Serena said.
"Morty!" Red said realizing it was the gym leader that berated her with Olympia all those years ago.
"Who?" Serena said.
"I am the lustrous Ecruteak Gym gym leader" Morty said.
"Ecruteak Gym?" Serena said.
"It's in Jhoto" Olympia said.
"I see you've entered the tournament too. Come to lose again" Morty said. Serena could see the rage in Korrina's expression.
"Wait I know this girl, you were with those two boys I faced yesterday" Olympia said.
"Yeah, you lost to them" Serena said.
"You lost?" Morty said turning to his partner.
"It was a fluke, I got my bad battles out of the way for today" Olympia said. Morty noticed Korrina's Lucario next to her.
"I see you still have that pathetic Lucario. Which means you're still using pathetic fighting type pokemon, and their pathetic battle styles" Morty said.
Serena was surprised enough to hear one gym leader talk like that, but two gym leaders. It made her a little sick.
"I can't believe two gym leaders think like this" Red said.
"I'm three times the trainer I was before. Lucario and I have accomplished more than you guys ever will" Korrina said.
" We'll see, actions speak louder than words" Olympia said as she and Morty walked off.
"I see why you don' like those guy" Serena started before Korrina dragged her off again.
"I'm really getting worried now" Red said. A few minutes later Korrina and Serena were both staining on one side of their battle room.
"The battle between the tag team Countess Serena and Viscoutess Korrina vs Viscountess Micheal and Viscountess Janet is about to begin. Trainers choose your pokemon" The ref said.
" Alright we've been training hard and I know you can do this. I choose you Zorua!" Serena said as her Zorua leapt out of her arms and onto the battlefield.
"Go Machoke!" Korrina said. Korrina's Machoke came out and got into a very aggressive stance. Red also noticed that he had a rather serious expression on his face like Lucario did.
"This should be exciting, we get to see Zorua battle " Ash said. Serena had let her Delphox out to watch the battle.
"Ok time to battle, go Diggersby".
"Go Roselia!". A Giggersby and Roselia came out and got into battle stance.
"Begin". Zorua immediately transformed himself into a Machoke and stood beside Korrina's Machoke.
"Brilliant, this way they can't tell which one's the real Machoke" Ash said.
"Machoke use Cross chop".
"Zorua use Furry swipes move with Machoke". Machoke and Zorua began running side by side with their arms up. This made it impossible for their opponents to tell which was which.
"Uh Diggersby is weak to fighting types, which one is the real Machoke?" One of the trainers said.
"Just dodge them both".
"Right! Diggersby use dig!".
"Roselia use Stun spore". Diggersby quickly burrowed his way underground.
"Don't you let him get away from you Machoke. Smash the ground!". Zorua and Serena saw Roselia about to stun them.
" Zorua quickly use Taunt!"". Zorua was still in the form of a a Machoke as he made a mocking gesture.
"Oh no, Roselia don't fall for it!". Roselia's face turned red as she got angry at the taunt. Instead she unleashed Magic leaves. Zorua used Furry swipes to knock the leaves away.
At the same time Machoke smashed his fist into the ground making the entire floor shake. The resulting force made Diggersby crash out of the ground.
"Cross chop!".
"Rosellia stop him use Petal dance".
"Zorua use Feint attack" Zorua moved so fast it seemed like he vanished. Just before Roselia could launch her attack Zorua appeared behind him and struck her as hard as he could, knocking her forward. Meanwhile Machoke Cross chopped Diggersby , instantly knocking him out.
"Korrina behind Machoke!" Serena shouted.
"Machoke use Cross chop!" Machoke quickly turned around and smashed Roselia into the ground with Cross chop.
"Oh no!".
"Roselia and Diggersby are unable to battle" The ref said.
"Alright we did it!" Serena said as Zorua turned back into his normal form and leapt into his trainer's arms.
"Well that was quick, those two were awesome" Ash said.
"Pika!".
"Phox!". Delphox was very impressed with how well Zorua had battled.
"Great work Korrina we were" Serena started.
"I was too slow on my commandsand you needed to remind me to make a move. I need to be more on top of this if we're going to win this tournament" Korrina said. Serena and her Zorua sweat dropped.
"Great job out there you two" Ash said as the others approached them.
"Zorua may be young but he can certainly battle well" Clemont said.
"Phox" Delphox said in a proud manner.
"Zor" Zorua said with a slight blush.
"Say Olympia were you impressed" A familiar voice said. The others turned around too see Olympia and Morty.
"Well I was slightly impressed with the Zorua's abilities, but the Machoke simply acted on brute aggression. Not very impressing" Olympia said.
"What are you two doing here?" Red said.
"Just coming to see if Korrina had learned anything. Apparently she has not" Olympia said.
"Are you really so surprised, she still uses fighting type pokemon after all" Morty said.
"I'll see you on the battlefield" Korrina said before walking off.
"Korrina" Red said following her.
"Let's get to our battle Olympia" Morty said as they walked off.
"I can't believe there are gym leaders who think that way, it's a disgrace" Clemont said.
"Just because someone is a gym leader it doesn't make them a moral paragon" Ash said.
"Fair enough" Clemont said. As the tournament progressed Serena and Korrina continued on winning each of their matches. Each time they won, Korrina continued to critique herself . Red got more and more worried about her, she kept going to see Morty and Olympia battle to study their strategy.
"Meinfoo Force palm!" Korrina screamed. Her Meinfoo sprinted forward with incredible speed and smashed her palm into a Pyroar's face. The Pyroar fell to the ground unconscious.
"Pyroar and Cloyster are unable to battle, the winners are Viscountess Korrina and Countess Serena" The ref said.
"Great work out there Absol, Korrina you and Meinfoo " Serena started.
"We were too slow on our attacks! I need to have better situation awareness!" Korrina said before she and her Meinfoo quickly left the battlefield.
"Korrina wait" Red started before Korrina was gone.
"Alright I have had enough of this!" Red said as he went after her.
"Should we do something?" Clemont said.
" No I think it's best we let them handle this themselves" Serena said. Red followed Korrina to another room. He saw her with all 4 of her pokemon out.
"I can't believe the way I've been performing today, I'm better than this! I know I am! How are we going to beat them if I keep messing up on simple things. It's just like last time, I'm powerless to help you" Korrina said. Her four pokemon came closer to her.
Red could partly feel what they were saying to her. Apparently they were claiming it was just as much their fault as hers. Red could feel the anxiety that was inside Korrina was also shared by her pokemon.
It was then Red remembered they way Korrina described her last battle with Olympia. Red finally realized what had been bothering Korrina all this time. She wasn't upset because she lost to Olympia , she was upset because of the way she lost.
She had been made powerless to help her pokemon, and now she felt she had to do everything she could to make up for it. Not only that ,her pokemon felt just as powerless when that had been defeated by Olympia and her pokemon.
The combination of these things through their aura connections only made the fear and anxiety among them. They were taking everything so seriously so they could prove to themselves they weren't powerless to help each other.
It was at that very moment that Red felt his aura connection with Korrina open up again.
Red slowly walked into the room and behind Korrina.
"Red I really don't want to talk with you right now" Korrina said.
"Korrina you're not powerless to help your pokemon" Red said. As soon as Korrina heard that she slowly turned to him.
" What did you just say?". Red put his hand son Korrina's shoulders.
"I understand why you're getting so uptight about this battle. Because last time you battled Olympia you felt like you were powerless to help your pokemon. You aren't powerless Korrina, even in situations like that , the training and devotion you give to your pokemon will always be with them".
Hearing Red say this made Korrina look back at her pokemon. She began to realize that everything she had every trained and taught her pokemon had stayed with them. Their aura connections would always keep them together and would always allow Korrina to give them support.
Korrina turned back to Red.
"But what if it's not enough?".
"Korrina, winning or loosing doesn't matter. You don't need to win to prove that you care about your pokemon. It's like you said to her earlier, you've accomplished more than she ever will".
Korrina and her pokemon all felt revitalized by what Red said. It made them realize he was right, nothing could ever keep them powerless to help each other and no matter what they would always be together.
"Red thank you , I'm so sorry for the way I've been acting. I" Korrina started.
"It's ok Korrina, you were under a lot of stress and" .
"No I never should have treated you and the others that way. I " Korrina started before Red lowered his head and kissed her. Korrina's face turned red for a moment before Red withdrew.
"Alright now we better get going" Red said.
"Huh, why?" Korrina said.
"Because you made it to the final round against Olympia and Morty. It's starting in 5 minutes" Red said.
"Oh no! I can't let Serena down!" Korrina said. In the main battle hall Serena stood alone on one side with Morty and Olympia on the other.
"Come on Korrina where are you" Serena said nervously.
"She wouldn't quit out of anxiety would she?" Bonnie said.
"No, Korrina's not like that" Ash said.
"Well I'm not surprised she didn't show up" Morty said.
"She knew she had no chance of winning" Olympia said.
"The match must begin now, if viscountess Korrina isn't here then I'm afraid I must disqual" The ref stared before Korrina sprinted into the room.
"I'm here!" She shouted as she ran beside Serena.
"Sorry I'm late" Korrina said.
"Alright let's do this!" Serena said.
"That's better , now the final round match between the team of Viscountess Korrina and Countess Korrina. Against the team of Marquis Olympia and Marquis Morty will now begin. Trainers chose your pokemon" The ref said.
"Alright I choose you Aurorus!" Serena shouted as her massive Aurorus came out and slammed her feet into the ground. Red ran into the room and stood next to Ash and the others.
"She made it!" Red said.
"Is everything alright between you two?" Ash said.
"Yeah everything is better" Red said.
Korrina held a pokeball close to her face.
"Red was right, now matter what happens we are always able to be there for each other" Korrina said to herself before she threw it forward. Korrina's Lucario came out and took an offensive stance next to Aurorus.
"Lucario again? She doesn't learn her lesson" Morty said.
"Well looks like we'll have to teach her the hard way" Olympia said as she threw a pokeball forward. None other than her Slowking came out and stood in a very proud manner.
Lucario's eyes widened as he saw Slowking. Slowking turned his eyes to Lucario and gave a sinister smile. Lucario grit his teeth and didn't show any fear.
"Go Gengar!" Morty shouted. A large Genar came out with a very sinister smile on his face as he stood next to slow king.
"A Gengar, then Morty must be a ghost type trainer" Ash said.
"Ghost and Psychic, how interesting" Red said.
"Begin" The ref said.
"Gengar use Confuse ray".
"Light screen" . Slowking quickly generated a series of screens around Aurorus and Lucario. At the same time Gengar unleashed a yellow beam that reflected off each of the screens and surrounded his opponents.
"Oh no" Serena said.
"Lucario get onto Auroru's head!" Korrina shouted. Lucario quickly climbed up Aurorus's long neck and onto her head.
"Shield yourselves with Aura" Korrina said as he concentrated on her aura connection with Lucario. Red could feel Korrina strengthening Lucario with her presence. Lucario felt his trainer's presence and gathered all of his aura as he started to glow blue.
The confuse ray got close enough and surrounded the two pokemon.
"Nice work Gengar" Morty said.
"Now they're confused, and control of this battle belongs to" Olympia started. Just then Lucario leapt off Aurorus and landed on the ground. Both Aurorus and Lucario were shielded from the Confuse ray by Lucario's aura.
"What?" Morty and Olumpia said.
"Alright Korrina!" Red said.
"Great work Lucario, use Bonerush!".
"Aurorus use Ice beam!". Aurorus opened her mouth and unleashed a furious Ice beam around Lucairo as he ran forward. The ice came around Lucario but not on him.
"I see she's shielding him with ice, nice try but you're just a sitting target. Slowking use Psychic" Slowking's eyes glowed red as he used his psychic energy to clear the ice out of the way.
"Perfect now use Shadow ball!". Gengar unleashed a Shadow ball right at Lucario.
"Lucario Extremespeed!" Lucario rushed forward and around Gengar. Gengar tried to lock onto Lucario but he was moving too fast. He moved around Gengar and smacked into Slowking from behind. As a result Slowking lost his focus and could not control the Icebeam.
"Gengar look out!" Morty shouted as his Gengar turned around just in time to see the icebam right in front of him.
"Gar!" Gengar shouted as he was knocked back by the Ice beam.
"Great work Aurorus" Serena said.
"How dare they, Slowking use Psychic" Slowking quickly turned around and blasted Lucario into the ground with his Psychic powers.
"Lucario!". Lucario tried to get up but Slowking held him in place with Psychic energy.
"No ,no not again" Korrina said.
"Aurorus use Ancient power!" Aurorus's eyes glowed violet as she unleashed several massive boulders at Slowking.
"Slowking stop those boulders!" . Slowking turned his head and stopped the rocks with his Psychic energy. As soon as he did, Lucario was free.
"Lucario Exctremespeed!" Lucario rushed forward and struck Slowking in the back of the head making him loose focus. Just as Slowking opened his eyes again he saw the boulders just before they plowed into him.
"Alright!" Korrina said as Lucario stopped next to Aurorus.
"They're winning!" Clemont said.
"They just need to keep this up" Ash said.
"Enough of this, Slowking use Waterpulse with Psychic".
"Night Shade!". Slowking's eyes glowed red as he controlled a wave of water and moved it towards his opponents. At the same time Gengar smiled as he unleashed a black and violet ghost energy that formed in the center of the water circles.
"Aurorus use Icebeam on those attacks". Aurorus opened her mouth and unleashed a powerful Ice beam that froze each incoming Water Pulse.
"Lucario Bone Rush!". Lucario sprinted forward and smashed each incoming frozen Water pulse. After each one was smashed, the Night shade inside began to dissipate.
"Slowking use Psychic". Slowking quickly caught the Ghostly energy with his own Psychic energy. Slowking began moving the Night shades into a dome around his opponents.
"Perfect Gengar use Shadow ball". Lucario and Aurorus began backing up as the dome of Ghost energy closed in around them.
"Uh Korrina any ideas?" Serena said.
"I'm working on it" Korrina said. As the space inside the dome got smaller and smaller Lucario saw a trio of Shadow balls fly through the dome.
"Grouu!" He shouted as he quickly moved out of the way. Unfortunately for Aurorus , she was too big and was hit by the Shadow balls.
"Aur!" She cried in pain. Another two Shadow balls flew through the dome from behind. Lucario did his best but had run out of room and was hit in the back with a Shadow ball. The other Shadow ball hit Aurorus and brought her to three feet.
"Great work, now finnish them with that Night shade dome" Morty said.
"With pleasure" Olympia said as the dome came in close.
"Come on Serena you can get out of this!" Ash shouted.
"Get out, that's it! Aurorus use Ice beam on the ground!" Aurorus blasted the ground with enough ice to form a wall of ice a few feet tall.
"Now use Aurora Beam!". Aurorus's side crystals started glowing yellow as she opened her mouth and unleashed a yellow beam of light. The Aurora beam hit her ice walls and reflected off each one in a different direction. Each time it reflected it tore through part of the dome.
"It's working! Lucario use Aura Sphere!" Lucario gathered his aura and unleashed it on the ice beneath him. The resulting blast went up and around, tearing through the last of the dome.
"What!?" Morty said.
"Aurorus Aurora beam!" Aurorus aimed her head at Gengar and unleashed an even larger beam. Before Gengar could even move he was hit and hurled back several feet.
"Great show Aurorus now finnish him with another Aurora beam!". As Aurorus opened her mouth Gengar slowly raised his head.
"Destiny bond!". Gengar unleashed a small pink light that enveloped around Aurorus. Serena was a bit confused as the attack seemed to have no effect on her pokemon. Moments later Aurora beam hit Gengar dead on. Gengar gave a rather sinister smile just before falling unconscious.
"Alright she got him!" Ash said.
"Great now it's just two on one" Serena said.
"I don't think so" Morty said. Moments later the pink light began forming around Aurorus.
"What?" Serena said. Aurorus began feeling great pain and loss of energy before passing out.
"What just happened?" Korrina said.
"Destiny bond, lovely little insurance move. I took care of her Auorus Olympia, the rest if up to you" Morty said.
"It's alright, we've got this" Olympia said as her Slowking gave a sinister smile.
"You can do this Korrina, Lucario!" Red shouted.
"Don't be intimidated Lucario, we can beat him. Use Aura Sphere!" . Lucario gathered his aura and unleashed two spheres at Slowking.
"Slowking use Psychic". Slowking slowly walked forward and hissed his Psychic powers to push the two Aura spheres away from him.
"Extremespeed!". Lucario sprinted forward with incredible speed.
"Psychic!" Slowking's eyes glowed red as he caught Lucario and held him in place.
"No not again" Korrina said.
"Well doesn't this seem familiar" Olympia said. Slowking smiled as he used his hold on Lucario to force him back and into the ground.
"Psyhic!". Slowking lifted Lucario up and then back into the ground. Watching this was very hard for Korrina, it was just like last time.
"This isn't good, what can Korrina do?" Clemont said. Lucario grit his teeth as he tried to break free, but Slowking's hold on him was too great.
"Zen headbutt!" Slowking hurled himself forward and into Lucario's stomach hurling him back.
"Psychic!". Before Lucario could recover, he was again caught by the Psychic energy and held in place.
"This is only proof of our point" Morty said.
"Exactly" Olympia said. Korrina grit her teeth, she knew she had to do something but what? It was almost identical to what happened the last time she battle Olympia. Once again she was powerless to help her pokemon.
"No, Red was right. I'm not powerless" Korrina said to herself as she lifted her head and almost furiously pushed her own aura connection with Lucario.
"Lucario, I know how bad this may seem but I believe in you. We're stronger than him. Together we can overcome what ever he has" Korrina said to Lucario via Aura message. Lucario felt Korrina helping him as he tried to gather all of his aura.
"Time to finnish this, Zen headbutt" Olympia said.
"Korrina! Lucario I know you can do it!" Red almost screamed. Korrina saw Slowking lower his head and come forward.
"Now!" Korrina screamed. Lucario started to glow blue from excess Aura and roared as he broke free from Slowking's Psychic grip. Just before Slowking could reach his opponent he was caught by Lucario's palms.
"What!?" Olympia said. Slowking slowly looked up at Lucario and sweat dropped nervously as Lucario looked down at him.
"Power up punch!". Lucario smashed his fist into Slowking's face and hurled him back several feet.
"Power up Punch!". Lucario sprinted forward with incredible speed.
"Psychic!" Olympia shouted. Slowking desperately tried to stop Lucario, but his Psychic energy only slowed him down. Lucario reached Slowking and furiously smashed his fists into Slowking again and again, each one more powerful than the last.
"Now Bone Rush!". Lucario formed a bone shaped club of aura in his palms and raised it up before smashing it across Slowking's face.
"Slowking!" Olympia and Morty shouted as the large pink pokemon fell onto the ground with swirly eyes.
"Slowking is unable to battle, the winner is Serena and Korrina".
"We beat them, we actually beat them" Korrina said in disbelief.
"We actually won!" Korrina shouted before sprinted over and hugging her Lucario. Lucario quickly hugged her back lifting her up
"We won the tournament!" Serena said in excitement.
"I can't believe it. We lost" Olympia said as she and Morty gave looks of utter disbelief.
"They did it!" Ash shouted.
"I'm so proud of her" Red said. Later that evening Korrina and Serena were standing on a platform with James.
"I am proud to announce the winners of this weeks Chateau Tournament, Serena and Korrina" James said as everyone in the ballroom started to applaud.
"It is my honor to award you with these medallions" James said handing them both a medallion.
"I am also happy to bestow upon both of you a raise in rank. Viscountess Korrina is now Countess Korrina and Countess Serena is now Marchionesses Serena. Congratulations both of you" James said as he gave a respectful bow.
"Now let the ball begin" The symphony began playing a steady dance song as Korrina and Lucario began moving towards the others.
"Great job today both of you" Red said.
"Just one more rank and you'll be able to enter into the grand festival" Ash said.
"I know, it's so exciting!" Serena said.
"Hey Clemont I think I just found you a wife!" Bonnie said as she ran over to a girl she saw.
"Bonnie no!" Clemont screamed running after her.
"May I have this dance" Ash said taking Serena's hand.
"You may" Serena said.
"Feel like dancing?" Red said.
"I'd love to" Korrina said. Red and Korrina slowly danced together across the room. Korrina noticed Olympia and Morty dancing together thought they might try to saw something to her. To Korrina's surprise neither even paid any attention to her.
Korrina decided that it was for the best. She had finally overcome years of feeling helpless against Olympia and it was all thanks to Red. Even after the way she treated him earlier in the day, he still stuck by her and helped her overcome such a traumatic event.
The more she thought about it the more Korrina realized how much she really did adore Red. They had done so much together and she adored everything about him. Korrina took deep breath before moving her head closer to Red's ear.
"Red , there's something I need to tell you, it's pretty big".
"What it is?".
"I, I, I love you". Red's heart almost stopped when he heard those words.
"LLove" He thought to himself. Red couldn't believe it, he knew that their relationship was strong but love. At first Red didn't know what to make of it. But as moments passed Red began to realize his own feelings for Korrina were just as strong. She was the most amazing girl he had ever known. She was confident, caring, and like him in so many ways. His feelings for he were true and he knew it.
"I, I love you too".

I don't think I've had a chapter focusing on Korrina yet so I thought this might be a fun idea. We also learn Red and Korrina are in love, I also thought it would be best for this to be in a chapter focusing on Korrina.
In other news I was finally able to see Movie 17 yesterday and I thought it was ok, though it was no temple of the see and could have used WAY more amourshipping moments. Seriously I think there was like 1 for like 15 seconds.
In any case when it comes to a movie like arc in this story it will be based partly off movie 17, but not entirely.
