It was the first time Rumia had ever been to the Northernmost point of Gensokyo. The very point of Gensokyo where the Higan; or the River Styx; flower through.

It was amazing how many were here; for but a second. Before Rumia recalled who it was they were here for. Yukari would have been a factor in the lives of almost every prominent character in Gensokyo.

On the river was a small boat; which Komachi stood at the helm of; the body of Yukari laying in the boat behind her; surrounded by Higanbana. Her body was whole again; unblemished; and looked in peace. Rumia could only guess it was a representation of her spirit.

One by one the amassed walked past Yukari's sleeping form. Ran was first; with Chen, and took the longest to say her goodbyes. Reimu was third after those two, and took almost as long; the young woman Rumia knew for being strong looking like she was about to break into tears.

Rumia was with her freinds; but Maribel; Renko and Keine were also with them. Rumia's freinds had little to say but 'Goodbye'; but Rumia just said 'I'll take care of her.'

Renko nodded; not knowing the dead woman; but Maribel stopped; looking at the body with hatred in her eyes.

Whispers could be heard about how this figure resembled Yukari. How they had never seen her before, before the Yama spoke. The short; green-faired figure of absolute authority. One even Tenma or Remilia would not object to.

"I wish to speak to you; your friend, and Rumia after this has concluded. There are things you must know." the Yamaxanadu said. "Is that acceptable; Maribel Hearn?"

Maribel looked shocked. "How do you..."

"I know your name because I am the head judge of the dead. That and Yukari told me. Now; if you have nothing to say; move along. Others with to pay their respects."

Maribel gave the body one last scowl; before she moved along.

It took two hours for the line to clear; before everyone was amassed in front of the boat and the Yama; who was flying to make her short stature visible to all.

"I am sure you all know Yukari Yakumo. All to different degrees. She was a mysterious woman..."

Suddenly; a red portal opened, and Shinki stumbled out of it.

"I'm not too late am I? Sorry; I had something to do in Makai. I MIIIIGHT have made something that accidentally set the palace on fire out of boredom."

The Yama looked annoyed; her speech interrupted.

"Why are you here? What concern is Yukari to you; foreign Devil?"

Shinki puffed up; looking angry. "I'm a God second; Devil third; and MOTHER first. And Yukari gave Rumia a second chance where I thought her too dangerous. So I believe I am entitled to pay my respects; even if Yakumo was not from my world. Besides; if you were to try and stop me; the resulting clash would likely kill everyone here; and you know that."

Mokou scoffed. Kaguya did too. They were on complete opposite sides of the plain; as far away from each other as possible; but this event had actually brought them within a few hundred meters of each other without killing each other; out of mutual respect for Yukari.

Shinki moved over to Yukari's body; and spoke in a tounge no-one understood. No-one except three people there.

Rumia; Alice and Koakuma. Shinki was speaking in the language of Makai. Everyone spoke it in Makai due to Shinki's magic; but only those of Makai could speak it outside.

"You might resent me for me being what you could never be; Yakumo; but I respect you even despite your feelings of inferiority towards me. And I thank you for you looking for a solution where I did not." Shinki said.

'Being what she could never be? Did Yukari aim to become a Goddess at some point?' Rumia thought.

Alice sent a doll over to Rumia; carrying a note; which she opened.

It had one word.

'Mother'

Rumia looked to Alice; who was a fair distance away; and she moved her head in the direction of Maribel.

Yukari disliked Shinki because Shinki was the mother Yukari could not be. It made sense. Shinki represented to Yukari her regret.

Shinki moved on from the body; and flew to the back of the field; landing near the group from the Scarlet Mansion; who were standing in the shade. She began to talk to Koakuma.

The Yama cleared her throat.

"I trust that we shall not have any more inter-dimensional visitors coming to pay their respects. You all would have seen Yukari in different ways; for she was a mysterious woman. However; one thing should be clear to all of you; everything Yukari Yakumo did was for her goal of making Gensokyo the best place she could make it; and preventing it's destruction. Yukari sacrificed many things to make this haven for youkai and magic. Ultimately; she even paid the ultimate price. Yet; despite this self-sacrifice; she also did many things that would be considered grave sins."

The Yama paused.

"As such; it was difficult for even me; who sees things in Black and White; to judge Yukari Yakumo's long life. Ultimately; I decided to send her to neither Heaven nor Hell; but respect her wishes; and let her join her old friend; Yuyuko Saigyouji; in the Netherworld. I also feel that Yakumo would have disliked Heaven anyway. May she rest in peace."

The Yama bowed her head; and everyone else followed; as Komachi began to row the boat down the river; using an oar with one hand; and her scythe in the other like an oar.

Then; a massive hiss was heard; and a mass of Shades appeared between everyone.

"EEEEEEEIIIIIIKKKKKKIIII!" they hissed; leaping towards her.

The Yama did not even look up.

"Foolish girl." she said; before she swung the small; golden rod she held. The Bar of Ten Kings.

All of the shades exploded into golden energy, all of them reached by the bar; despite it's short size. Only a few had eyes good enough to see that the Yama had actually moved to strike each Shade individually; so quickly that the movement was impossible to follow in full; so even to the strongest eyes there; they could only see slight movements of the Yama.

Except Shinki's eyes; of course.

But there was something Rumia noticed.

'Foolish Girl. That means it can't be the Heart doing this. I don't get why he'd be after Maribel anyway. But whoever this is seems to hate the Yamaxanadu even more than Maribel...'

Slowly everyone left; except Rumia; Maribel and Renko. The Yama looked at them.

"Yukari asked; as par of her last request; that I bring you to see her in the Netherworld. Normally a mortal would need a denizen of the Netherworld who is still attached to the outside world; such as a Half-Ghost or a Poltergeist; to allow them in; but ultimate authority is mine."

The Yama sighed.

"I should tell you that those with no bond to the outside world cannot leave the Netherworld. Yukari Yakumo cannot leave. Yuyuko can leave since she does not fully leave; part of her soul remains in the Netherworld; bound to a tree there. The Half-Ghost is half moral; so can leave; and Poltergeists are bound to the physical realm as well; so can leave. Yukari is just a spirit; not bound to the physical realm. This will likely be the only time you can see her."

"Mary... you want to go?" Renko asked.

"There is no way I would not. I have to see her. Ask her for myself." Maribel said; looking determined.

"If Yukari wants to talk to me; then I would be a fool to refuse her." Rumia said.

The Yama nodded; and Youmu appeared. She seemed like she was lacking sleep.

"Youmu shall guide you to the Netherworld. I have other matters to attend to. There is... someone close enough to Hell that I need to warn them; and try and set them back on the right track before they are irredeemable."

The Yama vanished; and Youmu yawned.

"I guess being with both Yuyuko and Yukari isn't good for your mental state." Rumia said to Youmu.

"Don't get me started. Lady Yuyuko's eccentricity was annoying; but I could handle it. Having Lady Yuyuko and Lady Yukari in the same room at the same time is asking for your mind to turn to mush."

"I feel sorry for you..." Rumia said. "At least you've not had Yukari literally inside your head though."
