Few more OCs join us in this chapter! Siren, Vixen and Zodiac!
"Wait, wait, wait...you're saying he knows who we are?" Peter asked, very surprised. "Yeah..." Daisy, Dani and I answered. "I know it sounds bad, but it's really not." I stated. "How?" Ava demanded. "Well, you're not X-Men and Ace is after me. So, once he either gets what he wants or we kick his sorry ass, he won't bother ya anymore." I hope. "What does he want?" Sam asked, munching on a box of Cheez-Its. "Honestly, no clue." I replied with a shrug. "We haven't seen him in years. One day, he just dropped off the face of the planet!" Dani threw her hands up, then fell onto the couch. "I must say, it's suspicious." Daisy sighed softly from the counter.
"He disappears one day, then years later reappears, attacks Tara-" "In my own home!" "-then uses robbing a bank just to lure us out. Who would go through all that trouble?" I pondered for a few moments, my chin in my hand.
What an excellent question.
Buzz off, Pietro. No one asked you.
Oh didn't they?
No. No they didn't.
God, you are so slow! You and your little X-Men. Can't see what's in front of you.
What are you-
I brought my head up, not realizing I gasped. "The Brotherhood." "The...what?" I looked at Peter, my gaze traveling to the rest of the team. "The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants! They've wanted to destroy us ever since...well, ever! We already decided that Ace wants something, which would probably help the Brotherhood. And I'll bet that he's a member." I ended with my fist in my palm, and a small breath. "Makes sense." Dani agreed, glancing at the others. "If that's true, then we should tell Fury." Luke suggested, and walked out with the others.
"So, Sherlock, what do you think he's after?" I looked at the Pyrokenetic and shrugged. "Could be anything. My best guess, though, are codes. Most likely for the Institute, but I'm not really sure." My canine ears twitched from their hiding spot, and I turned my head when the team walked in. "Well?" The twins and I asked in unison. "We're gonna be bait, apparently." Sam huffed. "Oh...how fun..."
...
It was lunch and Ace didn't make a move. If he was even there. "Hey, you! We got a bone to pick with you!" We turned around and was met with three girls, all older than us. One was Brazilian, and had bright red hair and dark green eyes. The other had brown hair and eyes. The last had brown hair, with pink bangs, one gold eye and one brown one. "Kit, Mel, Claire!" I pulled the three into a group hug, which Claire wasn't very fond of. "Yeah, hi." She tried to push away, but Kit flicked her. "Be nice." Claire huffed and stopped trying to get away.
"I'm gonna go on a limb here, and say you know these girls." Peter stated sarcastically. "Mmhmm. Guys, and girls, these are Kitana, Melody and Clarity." Claire made a face and huffed at me using her real name. Kit nudged me. "Oh, right. Kit's supposed to go by Katrina, or Kathy, in public." Kit smiled brightly at the team, waving. Melody looked at Sam and tilted her head. "Do I know you?" "I don't think." "Hmm...you seem familiar."
"What are ya'll doing here anyway?" "Logan thought you might need help." Claire answered with a small smile. She then glared at the team. "Oh, and don't call me Clarity." I giggled softly at the teams scared expressions. "So, what are your powers?" Kit looked around. Since no one was there, she closed her eyes as orange fur covered her. "I'm kind of a Feral." Peter nodded slowly and looked at Mel. "I really don't wanna yell..." Kit whispered something to Melody, who laughed softly. "Okay then." Melody looked at Sam. "You will meow like a cat." Just then, Sam let out the most pathetic little meow. He covered his mouth, letting out another little meow. "That is priceless!" I yelled, grabbing my phone. "My powers are Sound Manipulation, like Black Canary, and Hypnosis via my voice." Sam glared at her, meowing angrily. "Oh, right. You can stop meowing now." Sam cleared his throat, afraid to make a noise. I whistled nonchalantly and gently kicked him. "OW!" "It worked."
And last was Claire. She motioned to her thigh. Two blue, bendy lines formed. She turned to the water fountain, held her hand out and water came out from the fountain, over to us, and on to me. "Hey!" "That's for calling me Clarity." I huffed, shaking some water off. "So you're a Water Manipulater?" Sam asked. "No. Zodiac Empowerment. The symbol is Aquarius'." Claire said matter-a-factly. "Okay, then. We should probably look around and-" Before Ava could finish, the lights flickered off. "What the-!" "Ow!" "I'm sorry, did I step on your foot?" "No, that's my hand!" "Your ha-what are you doing on the ground?" "I fell!"
Oh for the love of all things magic. Link established.
What happened to the lights?!
What do you think, Genius?!
He must be here. C'mon, follow us.
Can't see, remember?!
Yeah, but Kit, Tara and I have Heightened Hearing. So does Claire, if she uses Leo.
Forget that! Sis, turn on the lights!
I can shed a bit of light onto the situation, but not much.
Good enough. Tara, give us some fire!
You're the Pyrokenetic!
Danny, could you give us some light?
That's what I'm doing!
Not you, Spark!
Oh...
I should be able to.
Okay, on three, everyone who can light...LIGHT! 1, 2, 3!
The hall lit up. Dani and I provided fire, Daisy had a light orb in her hands, D just used the Iron Fist, and Claire had a bright, warm light on her palm. "What is that?" Sam asked, going to poke the light. "Unless you want to get burned, I suggest not doing that." He automatically backed off. "Thank you. Now, it's Solar Empowerment. Something Leo grants me." "You mean your powers?" Peter asked with an eyebrow raised. "No, Leo. My powers come from the Western Zodiac." "Her father's came from the Chinese Zodiac." I added. I'm sure Peter was gonna go into 'The Zodiac are just legends' or something like that, but something crashed through the wall. "Oh don't tell me..." "Okay, I won't."
"Cain Marko, A.K.A Juggernaut. Not really a mutant, yet still part of the Brotherhood. What?"
Then, a Fire Dragon swerved through. "This is goin' to be fun." An all-too-familiar Aussie accent said.
"St. John Allerdyce, A.K.A Pyro. Is a mutant, Australian, and has a troubling addiction to fire. Tends to laugh maniacally."
And finally, a grey and green flash rushed past us, before stopping beside the other two.
"Pietro Maximoff, A.K.A Quicksilver. Mutant, Magneto's son, very fast. Has a tendency to call other people 'Slow'."
"Well, well, well, what do we have here? Four X-Men, two other mutants who haven't chosen a side, and five...ugh, humans." "Hello, Pietro." Vixen greeted with her hands on her hips. "Kitana." "How's Raven?" She asked quietly. "Y'know, motherly instincts, homicidal tendencies. The usual." I sighed softly, looking at the speedster. "How's Phe?" "Flare? She's fine. John here took her on as an apprentice." Pyro motioned to Spark. "I could do the same for you." "Tempting offer, but I'd rather stay with the good guys." She spat, glaring dagger at him. Pyro shrugged, sending his fire dragon over to us. Zodiac slid in front of us and blocked it. "Go get Ace, we'll take care of these losers." I nodded quickly and Spark, Angelette, the team and I darted down a hall.
...
I pushed the Auditorium doors opened. Ace was on the stage, sitting in a Shadow chair with a book. Spidey webbed the book, pulling it back to us. "How To Kill A Mockingbird?" "A great book. One of my favorites." Ace stood up, his chair morphing back to his shadow. "So, I see you're down a few numbers. What a shame, if you had Zodiac with you, you might have a chance of beating me. But seeing as you don't..." Spark glared at him and shot a fireball, to which Ace responded with a shadow engulfing it. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. You never learn, do you Sister?" "Don't call me that! You are not my brother!" She shot a few more fireballs, which were all avoided. Ready guys?
Yep.
Let's do it!
And the fight was on.
I grabbed the collar of Ace's shirt, my eyes blood red and my bangs white. "You can't feel? Good. Cause like this, neither can I." A black spiral of energy whipped around my feet, blowing my hair around. "I'll see ya in Hell." I did a two finger salute as the energy shot up. "TARA!" Someone yelled, but it was to fuzzy to tell who. "I-it actually hurts..." Ace groaned, and I smiled lightly. "Yeah, it does." I agreed. "This is what I feel everytime I lose control." "Being a crossbreed isn't easy, huh?" "Heh, nope. But, it's a fair trade. Pain for Power. Power I use to protect those I love." Ace smiled and moved a few strands of white hair out of my face. "You really are the last good thing about that part of town." He quoted. A shock ran through my body, and probably Ace's, too. We both screamed as everything went black.
Peter's POV
"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!" "Calm down, Si!" Zodiac ordered, two fingers on Tara's wrist. "She's still alive. Drained, but alive." "Oh thank Zues!" Siren rejoiced, letting out a breath. "W-what about our Brother?" Angelette and Spark asked in unison.
"I know they're twins, but that's still kinda freaky."
"Alive. They need medical attention, but will be fine." The circle and curve on Zodiac's thigh was replaced by a M and another curve. Or how she'd put it, changed from Leo to Virgo. A light emitted from her hands, and the cuts on Tara healed slowly. Angelette kneeled in front of her brother, light emitting from her hands too. Slowly but surely, Ace started to heal.
After a minutes, Latara started to stir. She brought her hand up to her head and muttered something. "Remind me never to do that again." "Aww, but I wanted more fireworks." Kit joked. "Well, I've got fire. And I know how it works." Tara retorted. "She's o-kay!" Kit laughed, pulling Tara into a tight hug. "I'm not gonna be okay if ya don't give me...air..." Vixen let go and flicked Shadow. "Let's get outta here."
Tara's POV
"Shadow!" I turned around and glared at the person who called me. "What do ya want, Pyro?" He dug into his pocket, which seemed difficult in hand-cuffs, and pulled out a chip. "Flare wanted me to give this to ya." He handed me the chip and I popped it into my phone. A video started playing.
"Hey, Tara. I just wanted to say I'm fine, and that I'm really sorry. I get now that you were only trying to help. But really, how much different do you think you'd react if someone told you that you're a mutant who is Jean and Scott's daughter in another universe? I think I'm gonna stick with the Brotherhood. I know, they're not the best people in the world but...they're not all that bad. Tell my sis I love her, m'kay? Also tell her that I might, just might, join the X-Men in the future. Maybe. Possibly.I-I don't know. I know this might never get to you, but if it does, just know you are still a great friend. Flare out! Peace!"
The video ended and I was just about in tears. I sniffled and turned to face my team. "Sooooo...anyone up to karaoke?" I asked, conjuring up a microphone and a speaker. My friends smiled, and we were off.
Third Person POV
SHIELD Heli-Carrier Detention Hall
Two SHIELD agents were talking, when all of a sudden they froze. A girl with bleach blonde hair walked in, looking at one of the cells. "You're late." Pietro miffed. The girl shrugged the comment off and turned to the door. Mystique and another blue-skinned girl were backing into the room, shooting at the Agents that followed. "Raven, let 'em out! I'll deal with the Agents." Mystique shrugged, before running over to the control panel. Pietro looked at the bleach-blonde. She looked up at him. "It's nice to see you too, Pietro." She deadpanned. "Hi, Jordan." He glanced at the door. "Lily." Lily did a small wave before going back to shooting.
There was a click and Lily shook her guns. "Hurry up!" She yelled at Mystique. "I'm working as fast as I can!" Ace snorted. "You are definitely Raven's daughter." Lily glared at Ace, throwing an empty gun at him. He moved to the side, the gun passing him harmlessly. Lily rolled her eyes and grabbed a different gun from her back. "So, do you have the information?" Jordan insisted, and Ace nodded. "Good. My father will be very proud." "Right, forgot you were Daddy's Little Girl." Jordan glared daggers at Ace, causing him to back down. "Man, that girl's scary." Then it was Pietro's turn to snort. "Try having her as a sister."
There was a small ring and the Mutant Power Dampeners shut off. The cell doors opened and the four boys walked out. "Hey, where's my-" Lily tossed Cain his helmet. "Thanks." He said as he put it on. "Now get out of the way." Lily complied and stepped back. Juggernaut ran through the hall, knocking down all the Agents. "Let's go!" Mystique commanded, and they all ran out.
Finally. This is all done with. Next up, Strange Dreams, Worse Mornings.
