Rumia fell to the ground. Rika quickly scanned her. She was still alive; but in no condition to even move; let alone fight. The wound in her chest was mortal.
"Who are you?" Rika asked the Rumia-like figure.
"I am the real Rumia. The one you knew and hated was a facade; an illusion built up by Yukari to imprison me." she said. "You need not know more than that. But i know everything about you. Her mind was my mind... I lurked in the dark corners. I kept her alive on purpose... so she can watch me dismantle you; and you can die together!"
Rika closed her eyes; and chuckled.
"I get it now. The torrent of malice I can feel from you; that makes even this mechanical body shiver. It's the same as I felt that day; the energy she unleashed when she took off that ribbon. You are the evil power residing within her."
Rika's eyes opened; and she laughed out loud; her manical laughter filling the tomb.
"This is perfect! I can finally kill Rumia; without killing Rumia! I get both things that I want! Thank you Enkura!" Rika shouted.
While the room was dark; a lance of even darker matter rushed towards Rika; who dodged to the side.
"Kehehe... you... kill me?! You're having a laugh!" Rumia said; licking her lips. "I'm going to take those words and shove them down your throat so hard you'll gag on them and beg for mercy!"
"Huhuhuhu~ this seems like it'll be fun!" Enkura said; floating next to Tenshi. "How about you watch it frozen in there with me; Tenko? Just like old times when we were hermits and would watch people and youkai fight out of boredom? What do you say; Tenko~"
Tenshi didn't respond; for she was still frozen solid.
Rika looked up towards Rumia; and smirked.
"Well; I know how agile you must be; so the Tesla Cannon will never hit you like it like that beast before. So how about something a little better suited to someone like you?" Rika said; as the drones floated from her shoulders; and; from a blue beam; made a weapon in each hand; a small handgun.
Rika pointed the guns towards Rumia; and fired a shot of light from each. The dark Rumia dodged the blasts; but looked intrigued.
"Laser pistols. I've come across weapons similar before; but I was unaware technology in this world had reached this point."
"It hasn't." Rika said. "Only I have reached this level! You should know from lurking in her head all this time; I'm the Mad Scientist Genius; Ri.."
Rika paid for mouthing off; as the dark Rumia rushed at her; extending her nails with dark energy into vicious talons; ripping repeatedly into Rika's body; before she swung both hands at once; and the dark energy erupted into an explosion.
"Two down~" she said; before turning to Enkura. "It's a shame you're an immortal of sorts... but I wonder what would happen if I ripped you into a thousand..."
The Dark Rumia suddenly stopped and made a grunt; as two beams of light peirced through her chest. Rika was intact; and not even harmed.
"You think an attack of that level would penetrate my shielding? This is my perfect body! The specifications exceed even Evil Eye Omega!"
The fiend turned around; the wounds in her chest healing over incredibly quickly. For a moment; her hate-filled eyes met with Rika's; before she vanished into the darkness.
Usually; the thought of an apex predator lurking in the darkness would make a sane person scared. Knowing they were being hunted. But Rika was neither sane; nor technically a person.
She waited three seconds; before she turned her hand around in an un-natural manner; and shot a bolt of light from her pistol; causing the dark rumia to dodge instead of attack; before she faded.
"You know; the thing about ambush predators is that they never like to attack head on." Rika said mockingly. "I've killed enough youkai to know that."
Rika looked around; holding her ground; before she smirked.
A claw came from the darkness; headed for Rika's throat; but Rika released a jet of blue flame from her mouth; causing the hand to withdraw into the shadows again; burnt.
'It's dumb luck! There's no way she could have reacted that fast; twice! I've shredded machines before in other worlds!' the dark Rumia thought as she flicked through the shadows.
Rumia grinned on the ground. 'She doesn't seem to understand... Rika wants to kill me; so she would have probobly not claimed her body was 'perfect' without some sort of countermeasure to my ability to blend into the shadows... without that; killing me would be very difficult.'
This time; the Dark Rumia attacked from above Rika; Dark energy coating her arm as if it was a lance; aiming to crush Rika's head.
"I really expected you to catch on quicker. I knew she would have." Rika said calmly; as she returned fire at the daemon; riddling her with shots of light.
"How do you know where I am?!" she shrieked; as she regenerated and backed off.
"You hide your body in the shadows from the light; but cannot hide your body heat. Infra-Red vision; bitch!" Rika said; taking the initiative to rush towards the dark Rumia.
'Truth be told I still don't know how to overwhelm her regeneration in a place as dark as this. She seems to heal even faster than the not-crazy-evil one...' Rika thought as a blade extended from her right wrist; and she slashed the Dark Rumia. 'Although; she's not healing at all... did this one take her power when she left? If that's the case; I need to kill her quickly!'
The Dark Rumia flew backwards; several cuts across her; looking furious; before she pointed one of her bony fingers towards Rika.
"You've done it now. Now I am angry." she said; as the room became lighter. "There won't even be a corpse to mourn over when I'm finished with you..."
The room became lighter and lighter; until it became white instead of black; all of the darkness swirling around the Dark Rumia; like a cocoon.
'This isn't good; I can feel her energy growing! Is this the power spike Yukari mentioned... Rika!' Rumia thought; trying to call out to warn Rika; but unable to do so.
Rika was shooting blast after blast at the cocoon; but the light was just absorbed by the darkness. Then; without warning; the cocoon erupted; the darkness drifting off like a cloud; and there was a terrible snapping sound.
Rika's left arm had flown across the tomb.
So fast... Rika thought; before her pain receptors made her howl in agony. She installed them to be more human; but this was the downside. She quickly shut them off; but the pain still lingered in her mind.
Rika turned; and saw that the Dark Rumia had changed. She still looked emicated and... evil in general. However; her wings were like smoke from a volcano; red embers dancing inside them. Red lines coursed along her body; like veins; pulsing. Upon her head were two massive horns of flame. She truly looked like a deamon.
"Behold... my true form. I usually keep my true power held back; it's more fun to fight like that. But this; this is the form that was created to destroy a God!" she said; before she vanished.
She's not using the shadows; she's using pure speed! Rika thought; as she managed to concentrate her sheilding just in time to be thrown back instead of blasted through.
"Ahahahahaha! I wish I could kill you slower and more painfully but in this form; my power is so overwhelming that it may not be possible!" she boasted; before she smirked. "Although I have an idea..."
In a cloud of black smog; chains made of black metal; inscribed with glowing red runes appeared in her hand; extending into a well of shadow.
"R...ii" Rumia tried to say. These had to be the chains. The chains that could restrain even a God. The chains Yumeko threw her life away to cut.
The Dark Rumia threw the chains; they seemed to home in on Rika; as even though she tried to evade; she was bound anyway; held up like... Christ on the Cross.
"And thus; the Saint was Crucified!" the deamon said in a mocking voice; making Rumia's trademark pose.
"So... that's where she gets that from..." Rika said weakly. She was getting power failure errors. Her pistols vanished; her systems were shutting down except for the core ones. She couldn't even move. What were these infernal chains?
Rumia's consciousness fluttered in and out; but; she heard a voice; fading in and out as well. As she faded out; the voice faded in.
'Is that... it could only be her... a voice I can only hear when unconscious... Koishi?'
So; Rumia accepted the call of the unconsciousness.
It was dark; but sure enough; Koishi was there.
"Hello Rumia!" Koishi said.
"Why are you here Koishi?" Rumia asked.
"I find you interesting; so I decided after the whole Shinki thing that I would keep an eye on you. I've kinda been following you in the subconscious realm. Whenever an incident happens I find you and follow you! You're kinda beat up though. Not sure how long it'll be until you pass into the dead realm. Which is sad. I like you." Koishi said. "So I snuck up here without anyone realizing it.
"Koishi; can you fight in any way?" Rumia asked.
Koishi looked surprised.
"I'm not that good of a fighter. I'm more about flashy attacks than strong ones. I'd just get in the way..."
"Yes; but those chains Rika's wrapped with; she can't break them; but someone who's not her can do so with ease. " Rumia pleaded.
"I wouldn't be able to attack before she ripped me apart..." Koishi said.
"Fine... do you have any fire based attacks? Anything that can melt the ice around Tenshi?" Rumia asked. "If you can't break the chains; Tenshi should be able to! She can't die unless it's a Shinigami!"
"I have one!" Koishi said happily. "And that Enkura person doesn't look like they'll notice me if I'm careful..."
"Then unfreeze Tenshi; tell her to break the chains. It's the only chance we have Koishi. If you can; find Suika after that and bring her here; we probobly need her help!"
"OK! Oh boy; it feel good to be involved in solving a major incident like this. It may be risky; but I owe you more than that after that Makai mess!" Koishi said; before she vanished from Rumia's subconscious.
