This chapter is a bit of a spacer. The chapter after this is going to get interesting in terms of Kurt's situation, which we haven't dealt with in a few chapters.

Thanks for being patient and waiting for updates. These chapters have been short lately, and I apologize. As the story is coming to an end soonish, I try to spread out the contents of chapters.

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Chapter 26

"What should I do?" Blaine asked Kurt. They had one last day before school started up again, and they were going to spend it inside relaxing.

"About what?" Kurt asked back. It was ten in the morning and Kurt had just gotten out of the shower, but he put on a new pair of pajamas instead of clothes.

Blaine undressed in the bathroom connected to Kurt's room with the door still open. Kurt could see an outline of his boyfriend's perfect butt when he bent down to take his socks off.

"About what happened yesterday," Blaine explained.

"You're going to stay here where you're safe," Kurt stated.

Blaine stuck his head out of the door.

"I know. But, what does it all mean? Where do I stand with my parents? Am I no longer their son?" he questioned.

"Of course you're their son," Kurt consoled him.

"Well, yeah, legally. But mentally? I don't think so. But, I can't really be your dad's son because that would make us brothers. We can't have that. Also, will I ever move back in with my parents?"

"Well, think about this. We have six months of school left. Then, summer, then college. You and I both applied to that college in New York, and we will most likely both get accepted. We'll move their and live together and be happy forever. So, that's eight months of you living here before that happens. Even if your parents do want you back in, say, five months, what's the point of moving back in with them for three months and then to New York, you know?" Kurt explained.

"What if they want me back soon," Blaine asked.

"Then, it's up to you. Whatever makes you comfortable," Kurt answered.

"I've never been comfortable around them in my life," Blaine stated. He was still naked behind the door.

Kurt got up off the bed and walked to the bathroom door, opened it slightly as to only see Blaine's face and chest, and he kissed him softly on the lips. Blaine felt weird to be kissing Kurt while they were both aware of his lack of clothing. It was a good weird, though. He felt close to Kurt.

Blaine turned his body more toward Kurt and placed his hand gently on Kurt's face. If Kurt were to open his eyes, he would see Blaine completely unclothed because the door was no longer blocking him. The thought of Kurt seeing him like that made him nervous and excited at the same time. But, he didn't want to go that far on his first day living there. So he carefully removed his lips from Kurt's and closed the door.

Kurt sat outside the bathroom door and listened to Blaine sing in the shower.

After his shower, Blaine put on his own sweatpants and a plain long-sleeve shirt.

"I suggest Disney movie marathon today," Blaine mentioned.

"As long as all of your homework is done," Kurt responded.

"You feel responsible for me because I no longer have parents, don't you?" Blaine joked.

"Someone has to make sure you're on the right track," Kurt answered.

Blaine sighed. "I didn't even have homework over break," he said.

"Me neither."

The boys went into the living room and snuggled up underneath a huge, fluffy blanket. They watched movies all day and ate snacks continuously.

Burt was pleasantly surprised to see them sleeping on the couch holding hands when he got home from work in the afternoon. He was nervous to leave them home alone, but he trusted them.

"Wake up, kids, let's make have dinner," Burt ordered as he stomped through the living room. Kurt and Blaine drowsily moved to the kitchen. Burt brought them home some pizza, and they were very grateful. They both acted as if they hadn't eaten a whole bag of chips, a container of cheese balls, and some ice cream throughout the course of the day and ate two slices of pizza.

After another movie, they went off to bed.

"School tomorrow is going to suck," Kurt said as they lied in bed.

"I agree. If only we could skip," Blaine replied. Kurt didn't answer. Blaine looked over at him and realized that he had fallen asleep. He kissed Kurt on the cheek and gently graced his fingers down his arm. Kurt moved in his sleep, facing the wall. Blaine put his arms around Kurt and fell asleep.

When they woke up the next morning, their legs were intertwined.

"I could get used to this," Blaine whispered.

"Used to what?"

"Waking up next to you, darling," Blaine said. Kurt's heart sped up.

"Me, too," he said, smiling. He looked at Blaine and adored the way he looked with the sun shining on him through the window.

Kurt got up to get ready, and Blaine slowly followed.

In the middle of changing their clothes, Kurt whispered, "Hey, Blaine."

"Yes?" Blaine answered.

"Yesterday I saw your butt a little bit," he said childishly. "So you can watch me get dressed if that makes you feel even with me," Kurt offered.

Before Blaine could respond, Kurt faced his back toward Blaine and took off his sleep pants and boxers. Blaine smiled and blushed a little. Kurt quickly put on a fresh pair of undergarments, and then took his time with the pants.

Blaine laughed. "Thanks for that," he said.

"Sure thing," Kurt said, now facing Blaine.

They kissed briefly before getting back on track. Blaine noticed Kurt shivering.

"Do you want to wear my Dalton sweatshirt?" Blaine asked.

"To school? You wouldn't mind?" Kurt asked back.

"Nope, I wouldn't mind. In fact, you can keep it. Boyfriends share clothes, right? And I've over-worn it," Blaine offered.

He retrieved the sweatshirt from his suitcase and threw it towards Kurt.

"It's not like me to dress down at school, but even fashion icons like me need a lazy day, so I will accept your kind offer," Kurt told Blaine. He threw the sweatshirt over himself and inhaled as his head was searching for a hole to poke out of. It smelled like Blaine.

Burt was in the kitchen making toast, and cereal was sitting on the table already.

"You look comfy," Burt commented when Kurt walked in, followed by Blaine. He had never seen Kurt dress so casually for school. Although, he did wear his tightest pants to try to balance himself out.

Kurt nodded his head. He sat down and Burt noticed the back of the sweatshirt said Anderson. He thought that it was nice for Kurt to finally have someone to swap sweatshirts with.

"I hope you boys have a great day at school," Burt said as they all scarfed down their food.

"I hope you have a great day at work, Mr. Hummel," Blaine said back.

Blaine took his dishes and put them in the sink, and Kurt did the same. Then, they went back upstairs to brush their teeth. They shared the mirror as they cleaned their teeth and fixed their hair.

"Bus is coming!" Burt yelled up the stairs.

Kurt and Blaine ran downstairs and out the door. They just made it to the end of the road when the bus got there.

They sat together and held hands on the way to school. "Hey, boys. Blaine, have you heard from your parents?" Mercedes asked from across the aisle.

"Not yet," Blaine answered. He wasn't mad anymore, he just didn't care.

"I'm sorry," Mercedes said politely.

"It's fine. It's my fault, anyway," Blaine admitted.

"No, it's their fault for not loving their son the way they should," Kurt commented. He squeezed Blaine's hand and Blaine squeezed back.

"Everything will be okay soon, Blaine," Mercedes promised.

"Thank you, Mercedes. I appreciate it. But, I'm really fine. I never really needed my parents, anyway. They were holding me back," Blaine stated.

Everyone remained quiet for the rest of the bus ride. At school, Tina and Artie met Kurt, Blaine and Mercedes at Kurt's locker. They avoided talking about the party, or about Blaine's family. Artie told a random story to make conversation.

The day went by too slowly. Kurt liked the classes that he didn't have with Blaine. Not because he was tired of Blaine, but because he liked the feeling of missing him. It made him positive that he loved Blaine, because he wanted to be with him all of the time. He was secretly worried Blaine would get tired of him, though. He feared that they would run out of things to talk about at school or things to do at home. He wanted to tell Blaine that they should separate at home sometimes and avoid always being together. Maybe they could watch different shows in different rooms or Kurt could go for a walk while Blaine stays home. He wanted them to act as normal as possible and not feel like they need to be in each other's space constantly.

At the end of the day, Kurt decided he would tell Blaine that they should have space, but he didn't know how to say it without being rude. On the bus Kurt tried to sit far away from Mercedes so she wouldn't hear him. He couldn't find a seat though. The farthest away from her was diagonal from her. But, she listened to her music anyway.

"Hey, listen," Kurt started. "I'm a little worried that we're spending too much time with each other. And, I don't want to get so used to being with you that it becomes impossible to be without you. So maybe when we get home-"

"Oh, I agree. I'm scared you're going to get sick of me always being around," Blaine brought up.

"I'd never get sick of you. I was scared you'd be sick of me," Kurt said.

"I can't see myself ever being sick of you, but just in case, we can totally give each other space. I mean, we don't have to avoid and ignore each other or anything. We'll just, you know, mind our own business and do our own stuff," Blaine suggested.

"Good, good. I'm glad we got that out of the way. Tell me if you do get sick of me."

"Oh, shut up," Blaine joked.

They got off of the bus and walked home, being careful walking on ice. Blaine held onto Kurt very tightly because he was scared of falling.

Kurt got the mail out of the mail box before going inside.

In the house he ruffled through the mail and came across something strange. "Um, Blaine, there's a letter from your parents," he said.

"What?! Let me see," Blaine ordered, snatching the letter. "There's not even a stamp. That means he came and put it here himself. That's really weird."

"Or she. It might have been your mom. Open it!"

Blaine sat down on the couch and ripped open the envelope. There was money and a letter.

Dear Blaine,

Your father is still angry about your decisions and is waiting for an apology, but I don't except you to give one. Whether this be a phase or not, I personally do not care very much. As long as you stay where you are and do not flaunt yourself and your "friend", I will not be angry. It's a good choice to stay with him. Your father is not happy, but as long as you and he do not cross paths for a long while, things will be OK. This money is for you to live on, and when you need more you can ask. Tell Mr. Hummel thank you on our behalf.

-Mom

Blaine read it to himself and Kurt waited patiently.

"Are you okay? What'd it say?" Kurt asked.

"I'm going to take a nap," Blaine responded. He dragged himself upstairs and put himself in Kurt's bed. Kurt picked up the letter and read it, then place it back on the coffee table next to the envelope with the money still inside.

He snuck upstairs and left a sticky note on Blaine's forehead that said I love you. Then he returned downstairs and did his own homework, then tried to do most of Blaine's as well. Doing Italian was hard, though, because it wasn't as similar to Spanish as Kurt thought it would be. He fell asleep on top of the Italian homework and dreamt about Blaine being happy.
