"It began about... I would say 120 years ago." Kanakuma began. "The fourth Deva of the time died, so a tournament was held to find the new Deva. However, the winner was the most un-Oni Oni possible."

"Un-Oni?" Rumia asked.

"She didn't drink." Yuugi said.

"She didn't play bar games." Suika complained.

"She was tee-total." Kanakuma added. "Can you imagine a sober Oni? Well, one who is sober by choice, not by circumstance, like I've been."

Rumia sighed. She should have guessed such a thing would have been so disguising to the other Deva.

"Of course, it wasn't just that she hated drinking. She was a protestor, against the way of life the Oni had. She wanted radical change, and she did not like the Oni being looked up to by the Tengu and Kappa. You see, while occasionally we were a little rough with them, that was a combination of an Oni being too drunk to control their own strength, or 'tough love' to make them stronger, and nothing serious ever happened. The Kappa and Tengu looked up to us, they respected us."

"Little did we know that there was a viper among us." Yuugi said. "Despite our efforts to make her less radical, it seemed being a Deva got to her head even more. She went behind our backs, and began to spread lies and deceit, not just by her hands, but the hands of her familiars and friends. Not Oni, other animals. She was always gifted with animals."

"She used these ploys and these words to slowly shift the opinion of the Tengu and Kappa over 10 years. Worse, she set up events which would make the Oni look bad in the eyes of the Tengu and Kappa. It got to the point where in the tenth year, some of the Oni under her leadership even attacked the Tengu village, for 'not working hard enough'. Those Oni were killed, but far more Tengu were." Kanakua said.

"She was very tricky about it, but that was when we realized what she was doing, and we confronted her about it." Suika said.

"We had her, and then the Tengu showed up in force behind her. The entire Tengu army. They were rebelling. Tenma, however, while his mind had been poisoned by her words, was still a wise leader, and did not want further bloodshed. He proposed that the Deva and him meet on the peak, alone." Kanakuma said. Rumia clenched her fist.

"So, she turned the Tengu against you? She started a rebellion, simply because she didn't like what Oni society was like?!"

"Yes. She revealed to us on that stormy peak that night what she had done and why. She hated what the Oni were so much, she broke off her own horns in disgust before fleeing, insisting she would kill us one day. We tried to stop her, but she was too swift, and she isn't the easiest to catch. Tenma went into shock for a while, before he made a proposal that we leave the mountain. The Tengu were too angered to live with the Oni anymore, at least these days, and their pride would not let them back down. It would be a bloodbath. And we were not willing to turn our fists on the Tengu, who we saw as children. So Tenma and us staged a fight where we were defeated. Tenma blasted us off the mountain's peak with a blast of air pressure, we let him." Kanakuma explained.

"You've been saying 'she' all this time. Who are you talking about!" Rumia shouted angrily. Even without her dark side existing within her anymore, she felt furious. How could anyone be so cold that they would betray their own race, and manipulate another to start a rebellion?

"She abandoned her name when she ripped off her horns. I cannot tell you what name she lives by anymore. However, she has a special arm which she keeps bandaged, and pink hair. I assume she is in hiding, a place we cannot find her."

"Because she's a coward! She wouldn't have a fair fight against us! She had to manipulate the Tengu to fight her battle for her!" Suika said angrily.

"She's gutless. She's been waiting all this time and not made a move, despite her vow." Yuugi said.

"I know where she is. Or at least somewhere she is sometimes." Rumia said. "Was she a Taoist by any chance?"

"Yes." Kanakuma said.

Rumia smirked. "You see, the thing is, I am also a Taoist in a way, although if I had to call myself religious, it would be 'Makai-ism', anyway, the Hermits have their own little dimension. She's not there often, but Toyosatomimi may know where I can find her."

"And what will you do when you find her?" Kanakuma asked. "She is not facing us."

"I highly doubt that the fact that Yuugi and Suika flew past Youkai Mountain went undetected, even with our efforts. Odds are someone like Aya knows you are here now. Be it a Wolf spotting us, a crow, or even a Kappa. Even if no-one on Youkai Mountain saw us, someone off Youkai Mountain might have, and told Aya anyway. And if that's the case, news is gonna spread. If she truly wants to kill you, she'll do it before you recover. That is, after all, what a coward would do, attack while her target is ill."

"So what will you do?" Kanakuma asked.

Rumia punched her palm. "Give her a good old fashioned beatdown to her. She has it coming, and the loser of a fight has to do what the winner says, that's basic rules in Gensokyo, after all. If I can beat her, I can make her stop this!"

Kanakuma laughed. "You think that you can fight a Deva? 'Kasen', if that is her name now, would not hold back, like Suika or Yuugi did when you sparred them. You would be facing the full might of a Deva."

"Not if I'm smart about it and make her think I don't know. She wouldn't fight at full power, she'd be hiding that she's an Oni." Rumia said.

"Oh that's sly." Kanakuma said. "I like it."

"I don't." Yuugi said. "But ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I mean, at least you're still plannin' to fight her head-on."

"Yuugi, you have to learn that sometimes a full-out brawl isn't the only solution. Not everyone wins every fistfight like you would." Kanakuma said, before looking at Rumia.

"Be careful. Kasen's bandaged arm is a terrifying thing. No-one knows how she got it, she was not born with it. However, the 'Immaterial Arm' has the power to crush spirits and is incredibly powerful. Do not let her grab you with it, or she could destroy your very soul. It would not matter how powerful your body is, the soul is as vulnerable for everyone except the Gods themselves. If she removes the bandage, do not let her in close under any circumstance. If she is close, do not allow her hand anywhere near your heart, as that is where she can pull your soul and crush it."

"Yeah, well I got some terrifying things of my own." Rumia said. "There's a few new tricks I can do now that I don't have to worry about my psycho inner self taking over." Rumia sat on the floor, taking a meditative stance. "Well, I better be going to see Toyosatomimi. Better to get this over with in case the Tengu do know and the news spreads all over Gensokyo. You know Aya."

"Ah yes, Shameimaru. Now she was fast." Kanakuma mused. "Even with my short-range teleportation I could hardly keep up, and anything beyond that teleport range she would effortlessly overtake me."

"Oh yeah, do you know how fast Aya even is?" Rumia asked. "I still remember facing her 'Illusionary Dominance' spellcard... I couldn't even follow her movement.

"Too fast." Kanakuma said."I don't even get the feeling she even tries whenever someone races her. If it helps, she showed that one off to us, and none of us could follow it either."

"So fast even the Deva can't follow it..." Rumia thought, before she closed her eyes and focused. "Senkai..." she said, before she vanished into the Hermit's realm.

==== Disclaimer: Again, WAHH isn't canon for this story. Especially the more recent parts. We know a *little* more about Kasen now than we did back when TD came out, which was when this originally happened. Back then we didn't know things like she is apparently on good enough terms with Yuugi to borrow her dish.
