CH 71: Rounds 2 and 3.
Ash was standing on his platform in the Grass stadium. His Hawlucnha had gone up against a Camurupt and Nidoking. He had managed to knock both of them out, but could not stay conscious and fainted moments after Nidoking did. Now Ash's Mightyena was facing off against a Metagross.
Ash's opponent was a boy named Dray. He was blonde and wore a black sweatshirt with a baseball cap on his head.
"Hammer arm!". Ash's Mightyena was hit by Metagross again and was hurled back across the battlefield landing just in front of Ash.
"Mightyena!" Ash shouted. Mightyena's eyes were swirly as she lay on the ground.
"Mightyena is unable to battle." The ref said.
" Alright we can still do this, my Metagross is as good as 4 normal pokemon!"
"Alright Mightyena return, rest up. " Ash said before he looked back up at his opponent..
"This sure is an interesting match. I only wish Red and Korrina could watch this too." Serena said.
"It stinks that their matches are at the same time." Clemont said.
"Well, I guess it was bound to happen at some point." Serena said.
Ash took out his next pokeball and held it close to his face before throwing it forward.
"I choose you Tyrantrum!". Ash's massive Tyrantrum came out and roared at the Metagross.
"A dinosaur, that's awesome! Alright Metagross we have the type advantage. Let's make this big guy extinct again. Use bullet punch!" Dray shouted.
"Tyrantrum use Stone edge!" Ash shouted. Tyrantrum unleashed a thick furry of spiked rocks at Metagross. As the rocks approached him, Metagross quickly used his Bullet punch to smash each of the rocks into pebbles.
"Dragon Tail!" Ash shouted. Tyrantrum's tail turned violet as he hurled it forward at smashed it into Metagross's face as his 4 arms were occupied with the incoming rocks.
The dragon tail didn't do much damage, but the sheer power behind Tyrantrum's attack forced Metagross back a few feet.
"Metagross use Giga impact!".
"Tyrantrum use Ancient power into Rockslide!". Tyrantrum's eyes glowed violet as he lifted up 5 massive rocks and hurled them into Metagross. The attack didn't do much damage, but it did slow Metagross down. Moments later Tyrantrum hurled several massive rocks right on top of Metagross.
Just like the ancient power, it didn't do much damage. However, it did force Metagross into the ground.
"Earthquake!" Ash shouted.
"Metagross quick get off the ground!" Dray shouted. Tyrantrum roared as he leapt up then smashed his massive feet into the ground causing a massive Earthquake that shook the entire stadium.
Metagross tried to get up, but the weight of the rocks on him made it difficult. Just before Metagross could, the seismic waves hit him and hurled him back.
"Alright great job Tyrantrum!" Ash shouted.
Metagross got up and shook the rocks off him before facing Tyrantrum.
"Metagross use Earthquake!" .
"Tyrantrum use Earthquake!" Ash shouted. Both Pokemon slammed into the ground causing seismic quakes that met and balanced each other out.
"Bullet punch!" Dray shouted. As the seismic waves met , Metagross flew forward with his arms raised.
" Rock slide!" Ash shouted. Tyrantrum hurled a dozen massive rocks over Metagross. Dray's Metagross, aimed his arms up and and smashed each rock away.
"Dragon tail!" Ash shouted. Tyrantrum raised his massive tail and prepared to smash Metagross. However, unlike last time Metagross brought two of his arms up and knocked Tyrantrum's tail away.
"Hammer arm!" Metagross smashed all 4 of his arms into Tyrantrum's chest. Tyrantrum was smashed into the ground as Metagross moved over him.
"Tyrantrum!" Serena shouted.
"One more hit and he's done for." Clemont said nervously.
"Another hammer arm Metagross!" Dray shouted.
"Crunch!" Ash shouted. Just before Metagross could come down on Tyrantrum with his arms raised, Tyrantrum quickly came up and snatched Metagross in his massive jaws.
"Huh?" Dray said. Despite Metagross's immense weight, Tyrantrum was able to hold him up in his massive jaws. The arrangement of Tyrantrum's teeth also kept Metagross's arms in place.
"Smash him into the ground then use Earthquake!" Ash shouted. Tyrantrum used all his might and hurled Metagross how and plowed him into the ground. Before Dray could even say anything , Tyrantrum leapt up and smashed his feet into the ground causing another earthquake.
"Metagross!". After the shaking stopped Metagross tried to get up , but fell back to the ground.
"Metagross is unable to battle, the winner is trainer Ash Ketchum!" The ref shouted.
"We won! We beat him!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
"Grouu!" Tyrantrum roared in victory.
"Well we made it past round one. That's gotta count for something, Metagross return." Dray said.
"Yes he won!" Serena shouted.
"Oh I'm so proud of him." Delia said.
"I wonder how Red's match is going?" Clemont asked.
Meanwhile Red was on the ice field battling against a trainer named Frost. He had faced off against Frost's Aegislash and Gardevoir. His Skarmory had been able to defeat them both but fainted due to his injuries.
Now Aero was facing off against a Glalie.
"Glalie use Blizzard." The Glalie unleashed a massive icy blizzard into the air.
"Aero drop to the ground with your wings held in close." Red said. Aero brought his wings in and dropped towards the ground getting faster and faster. The speed allowed Aero avoid the blizzard and the heat kept the cold from afflicting him.
"Re-angle your wings!" Red shouted. Aero quickly brought his wings out and caught himself and flying close to the ground.
"Ice beam!".
"Agility into Ancient power!". Aero used his agility to avoid each of burst of icebeam. Once he got close enough , Aero unleashed 3 large boulders at Glalie.
"Protect." Glalie covered himself in a green barrier that absorbed the 3 rocks.
"Glalie use Freeze dry."
" Aero sharp turn up.!" Aero made a sharp turn up and flew above Glalie.
"Ice beam!". Glalie aimed right up and unleashed a powerful Ice beam that hit Aero.
"Aero!" Red shouted.
"That was a direct hit ." Professor Sycamore said.
"He's still in this. Come on Aero!" Korrina shouted.
"Aero come down at Glalie and use Ancient power!" Red shouted. Aero turned around and flew down at Glalie as he unleashed several rocks at him.
"Protect!" Glalie covered himself in a protective green married that absorbed each of the incoming rocks.
"Now use Rock slide!" Red shouted. Aero unleashed a barrage of rocks just as the protect ended, then made a sharp turn by re-angling his wings.
"Glalie move!" Dray shouted. Goalie tried to move but was too late and got coated in a thick layer of rocks.
"Glalie!".
When the rocks cleared away it revealed Glalie with swirly eyes.
"Glalie is unable to battle, the winner is the blue trainer." The ref said.
"Alright we did it Aero!" Red shouted.
"He won!" Korrina shouted.
"That's my boy." Felix said.
"Well done." Sycamore said.
"Glalie return, we came pretty far." Dray said.
Later that day, Ash and the others met up at the pokemon center.
"Looks like we're both moving on to round 3." Ash said.
"This is awesome, we're halfway through the primary tournament."
Red said.
"Primary tournament?" Serena asked.
"The primary tournament is the 4 rounds in the 4 smaller stadiums. If you win in all 4 stadiums you move onto the victory tournament in the main stadium." Ash said.
"I see." Serena said.
"You both performed very well today. I am proud of you two." Sycamore said.
"Yeah you've already proved yourselves better than dozens of trainers who will not make it to round 3." Felix said.
"Such trainers not including us." A familiar voice said. Ash and Red turned to see none other than Jason and Trent.
"Oh hey guys." Ash said.
"This is Trent and Jason. They're also competitors." Red said.
" Nice to meet you." Delia said.
They sat down beside the others.
"So you guys only lost one pokemon too. Nice." Trent said.
"Well my opponent was a very skilled one. It only makes sense I would need to use all three of mine." Jason said.
"You know I've noticed that there are a lot of people competing in the tournament aren't from Kalos." Serena said.
"Oh there are plenty of people here from Kalos. Both my opponents have been from Kalos." Trent said.
"Mine too." Jason said.
"Well I guess it might just be us then." Ash said. The adults left the group who were still in the pokemon center.
"So Korrina, my next match is up against a." Jason started.
"Jason you need to stop tiptoeing around it, we know you like Korrina." Trent said.
"What?" Jason said.
"Yeah buddy, I picked up on it from ten minutes in. You seem like a nice guys, but Red and I are in love." Korrina said.
"Yeah, so I'd appreciate it if you'd just stop." Red said. Jason now had a very embarrassed and angry look on his face.
"You're going down Red. " Jason said as he got up and walked off.
"Oh Jason. I'm sorry about that guys." Trent said.
"It's alright." Red said.
"Looks like you got your first rival here." Ash said.
"I guess so." Red said.
"Excuse me, you're pokemon are ready." Nurse Joy said. Ash, Red, and Trent got up and retrieved their pokeballs before coming back to the group.
"Well now that our pokemon are ready. We have until tomorrow before our next matches. We could look around the village." Red said.
"Yeah! There are so many stores we could visit!" Serena almost shouted.
"Uh well." Ash said sweat dropping.
"Yeah that sounds so fun!" Bonnie shouted.
"You know I should go check on Jason, make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." Trent said as he got up and walked away with a sense of urgency.
"Uh yeah, I think Felix said he wanted to tell us about uh something with the brotherhood." Korrina said as her and Red got up and walked off.
"Yeah he uh , needed me too." Ash said as he tried to get up and walk off. Before he could Serena grabbed him by the arm and pulled him out of the pokemon center.
"Let's go Clemont!" Bonnie said dragging him out of the pokemon center. Elsewhere at a cafe Red and Clemont had gotten some coffee and were sitting int he outside area.
"Thank Reduka we got out of there." Korrina said before she sipped on some of her coffee.
"Yeah, but I feel bad that we left Ash and Clemont there." Red said.
"You want to go back and shop with them?" Korrina asked.
" No." Red said.
"So Red do you know what's you're going to do after the pokemon league?" Korrina asked. Red actually hadn't thought much about that. For years had had focused on competing in a pokemon league and now he was finally there. But in all that time , he had hardly thought at all what he would do after the Kalos league.
"I guess I never thought that much about it." Red said.
"Well I know I'm going to have to get back to being the Shalour city gym leader. But I'm also going to become more active in the brotherhood. You could always do the same." Korrina said.
"You mean become a full time member instead of a just helping when I can." Red said.
"Yes, I think together we could do a lot of good out there." Korrina said.
"I guess I never thought about that. We could do a lot of good out there." Red said.
"Yes , we could." Korrina said before she put her hand on his.
"Excuse me , do you two mind if I sit here. Every other table is full." Another voice said. Red and Korrina turned to see a young woman who looked about 17. Hs had brown hair with anti defying pigtails. She wore a white tank top and a black cardigan over top. A black miniskirt and white knee stocking with black shoes.
Personally Red and Korrina would have rather had the table to themselves. But they didn't want to be rude either.
"Sure." They both said at the same time.
"Thank you handsome young man." She said. Korrina raised her eyebrow at the young woman. As the young woman sat down both of them noticed that she had a very strong aura around her.
"My name is Laura Wald. I hail from Laverre city." Laura said in a very thick Kalos accent.
"Walk, I've heard that name before." Korrina said.
"I overheard you two talking about a certain brotherhood and being a full time protector. Would you happen to know what these are." Laura said as she revealed a pair of hidden blade holders on her wrists with a mega evolution stone on the left one.
"Wait you're a guardian?" Red said.
"Good, I was afraid I stumbled upon something else and budded into it. Yes I'm a guardian. I assume you are guardians as well. Who might you both be?" Laura said looking at Red.
" I'm Korrina and this is Red." Korrina said sounding slightly defensive as she put her hands back on Red's.
"Pleasure to meet you both." Laura said.
"So Laura, I've heard of your last name before." Korrina said.
"That's because my father use to be the Mentor of the Kalos brotherhood before Chairon." Laura said.
"That's right! He was the mentor. Where is he now?" Korrina asked.
"My father has moved onto he global enclave. He's on the council working for the grand mentor." Laura said.
"Wow." Korrina said.
"So you're in the Kalos league?" Ash asked.
"I am, I won my match today in the water field. I assume you won your matches so far Red." Laura said.
"Well I." Red started.
"Yes , he did. He was outstanding, and I was there to cheer him on all the way. He is my boyfriend." Korrina said sounding defensively.
"Oh no. I'm sorry if I came off the wrong way. I have no interest in trying to take Red Korrina." Laura said.
"You don't?" Korrina said.
"Wait what?" Red said as his face turned slightly red.
"Sometimes I can just get flirty with people. It's a problem I've had for a long time. Please don't think of me as that kind of person." Laura said.
"I'm sorry, it's just there's a similar incident going on between me , Red, and another trainer here." Korrina said.
"Well anyway. I may be a guardian, but I have no interest in going down my father's path. I hope to become a member of the elite four here." Laura said.
"Really." Red said.
"Yes. While I still lend a hand to the guardians when I can, being in the elite four has always been a dream I've had." Laura said.
Elsewhere in a clothing store, Ash and Pikachu were sitting outside a dressing room feeling very bored.
"I'm sorry Pikachu." Ash said.
"Pika, Pikachu." Pikachu said. Serena came out wearing another trainer outfit.
"How does it look?" Serena asked.
"It looks just as amazing on you as the last 4." Ash said.
"Well I've got good news, I found a new trainer outfit for you!" Serena said.
"What?" Ash said.
"Come on , try it on." Serena said as she grabbed him by the arm and pulled him into the dressing room.
"Wait I" Ash started. Pikachu watched closely as Ash came out wearing a white and blue trainer outfit.
"You look amazing!" Serena said. Ash sighed before he went back and changed into his normal cloths. After doing so he saw back on the bench as Serena tried on another outfit.
That was when Ash noticed another young man sitting on the next bench over. He looked about 18 with dark brown hair and blue eyes. He wore black glasses with black pants and a green tank top with a black windbreaker underneath. He also wore black fingerless gloves and green wrist bands.
"You waiting for your girlfriend too?" He asked.
"Yeah." Ash said.
"Well, I would say they could shop for only so long. But the thing is, they can." He said.
"So Dakota, how do I look." A familiar voice said. Ash looked over and saw none other than Diana come out of another dressing room.
"Diana?" Ash said.
"Ash?" She said back.
"Wait, you know this guy?" Dakota said.
"Yes babe, he's an aura guardian like me. He's the one from the tower that I told you about." Diana said.
"Really?".
"Ash good to see you again. This is my boyfriend Dakota." .
"Nice to meet you." Dakota said extending his hand. Ash shook his hand before Serena came out of the dressing room.
"So Ash, how does this one." Serena started before she saw Diana and Dakota. She had met Diana after Reduka restored her and the others, but the boy was new.
"Diana you remember my girlfriend Serena." Ash said.
"Right, Serena, How are you feeling?" Diana asked.
"Fine, it's nice to see you again."
"This is Dakota my boyfriend." Diana said.
"Pleasure to meet you." Dakota said.
"Well, it's almost 4:30. How about the 4 of us get some dinner?" Ash asked.
"It's a little early for dinner isn't it?" Diana asked.
"Nonsense let's get dinner." Dakota said following Ash's plan to get them out of the store.
"Alright why not." Serena said.
"Pika." Pikachu said with a relief breath knowing he'd be out of the boring store. As the group walked out of the store Ash couldn't help but feel he forgot something.
"Ash, Serena. Where are you guys?" Clemont said as he looked around for them.
"Ohh brother I found more!" Bonnie said as she grabbed his hand and dragged him to another part of the store.
Later the 4 had found a restaurant nearby and got a table for four. Pikachu had leapt down from Ash's shoulder and sat beside the table with a bowl of pokemon food in front of him. Just before he ate, Ash took some ketchup and squirted it on top of the food, much to Pikachu's delight.
"So how did you two meet?" Serena asked.
"Well my dad is a Chief in the Kanto Navy Dakota's dad is a Captain. They work together and 3 years ago during a military ball they introduced us." Diana said.
"I see, my dad is in the Kalos army." Serena said.
"Really? So Ash you're an aura guardian like Diana. What about you Serena?" Dakota asked.
"No, I'm no guardian." Serena said.
"I guess that's something the 4 of us have in common. I'm not a guardian." Dakota said.
"So Diana how did you become a member of the brotherhood?" Ash asked.
"Well my uncle on my mom's side was a guardian master and started my training when I was 7."
" So is this your first pokemon league?" Dakota asked.
"Actually it is." Ash said.
"Well it's actually my first pokemon league too. Before this I competed in the Kanto and Hoenn battle frontiers and won both." Dakota said.
"Congratulations." Ash said.
"So how did the two of you meet?" Diana asked.
"Well when were both very young we attended a summer camp together. I became separated from he group and hurt my leg. After that Ash found me and helped me get back to camp." Serena said.
"After that we became really close friends. But after camp ended we didn't see each other for almost 10 years before we met again when I moved to Kalos." Ash said.
"Wow that's such a cute story." Diana said.
"So Ash what fields have you competed on?" Dakota said.
"The rock and grass." Ash said.
"Nice, I've competed on the water and ice which probably means we won't see each other in battle until the main stadium if we do face off." Dakota said.
"I'm looking forward to it." Ash said.
Later that night Ash and Serena had returned to their condo after finishing dinner with Dakota and Diana. Ash made sure each of his pokemon got dinner before heading back to the bedroom.
Serena had finished her shower and got into her pajamas before laying down in the bed.
"So you have the ice and water stadium's next. The ice stadium shouldn't be a problem unless your opponent has a lot of ice types. But what about the water stadium, you only have Totodile as a water pokemon?" Serena asked.
"Well I asked the professor to bring all my pokemon so if I do get the water stadium I'll switch out one of my pokemon for Totodile. As for my other choices I think I'll use Hawlucha since he can fly and he's not weak against water . I'll defiantly use Pikachu though." Ash said as he took his shirt off.
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
"Well be careful out there. Your next opponent will have already beaten two other people , which means they must be very good." Serena said.
Ash walked over and got into the bed.
"I will." He said before giving Serena a short kiss on the cheek. Pikachu rested himself on the pillow above Ash's head and quickly fell asleep.
Serena rested her head on Ash's chest before falling asleep herself. Ash stared at the ceiling as he thought about his match the next day. He thought more about what Serena had said and how she was probably right. His opponent tomorrow would probably be harder than the ones he had faced so far and he should be aware of that.
The next morning Ash was in the water stadium on the blue corner. Ash was facing off against a trainer named Jimmy Valryken. Jimmy wore a black goat with blue gloves and are and white shirt. He had light skin and green eyes with black hair.
"Skip loom use Bullet seed!".
"Totodile move underwater!" Ash's Totodile quickly dove under the water as several seeds hit the water and narrowly missed him. Ash's Totodile had already defeated Jimmy's Sealeo and was now facing his Skiploom.
"It appears trainer Ash Ketchum has sent his Totodile underwater. How will the green trainer get at him now." The announcer said.
"Skiploom use poison powder on the water!" Jimmy shouted. His Skiploom, floating over the water, began spraying the water with a thick powder of poison.
"Why would he do that, the water will keep Totodile safe?" Serena asked.
"Keep it up Skiploom!" Jimmy shouted. His Skiploom continued to fill the water with poison until Ash realized what he was doing.
"Totodile out of the water now!" Ash shouted. Totodile swam towards the surface as face as he could , trying to avoid the poison as it clouded the water and floated down towards him.
"Get ready Skiploom!" Jimmy shouted. As soon as Totodile leapt up and out of the water Skiploom was prepared.
"Energy ball!". The Skiploom opened his mouth and unleashed a powerful grass energy shot that hit Totodile dead in the center of his chest, hurling him back into the poisoned water.
"Totodile!" Ash shouted.
Totodile coughed as he inhaled the poison and it filled his body.
"And the blue trainer's Totodile is now poisoned." The announcer said.
"That's not good." Red said.
"Come on Totodile! You can still win it!" Serena shouted.
"Totodile Ice fang!" Ash shouted. Despite being poisoned , Totodile swam under water as Skiploom tried to look around for him.
"Skiploom just keep moving. He can't get you if you're moving." Jimmy said.
"Water gun!" Ash shouted. Totodile leapt up and out of the water a Skiploom started to move, and blasted him with a jet of water.
"Ice fang!". The Water gun had not been very effective but it had kept Skiploom from moving long enough for Totodile to reach him and snap his now very cold jaws around his body.
"Skiploom!" Jimmy shouted. The two pokemon flew towards the water and splashed into the poison. Both trainers watched closely as the two pokemon floated to the surface with their eyes swirly. The poison had taken it's toll on Totodile and knocked him out at the same time his own Ice fang knocked out Skiploom.
"Both pokemon are unable to battle." The ref said.
"Amazing, both trainer's pokemon are out cold. Trainer Ash Ketchum still has two pokemon to Jimmy Valryken's one." The announcer said.
"Totodile return. I'm really proud of you. Alright I choose you Hawlucha!" Ash shouted. His Hawlucha came out and did a front flip before landing on one of the floating platforms.
"Skiploom return. Alright I choose you Gallade!" Jimmy shouted.
A tall Gallade came out and stood on a floating platform with his arms up in an aggressive manner.
"Gallade use Psycho cut!" Jimmy shouted. Gallade's eyes glowed blue as he unleashed several psychic waves at Hawlucha.
"Hawlucha fly to another platform then use Arial ace!" Ash shouted. Hawlucha quickly glided across the water with his wings before kicking off another platform and getting altitude.
"Galled use confusion." Gallade's eyes glowed blue before Hawlucha was caught in his psychic grip.
"Oh no." Ash said.
"Perfect. Hurl him." Jimmy said. Hawlucha was hurled back into the first platform and hit it hard.
"Hawlucha come on let's go!" Ash shouted. Hawlucha leapt right back up and got in an aggressive stance.
" Hawlucha fly in close and use Arial ace!" Ash shouted.
"But he already tried that?" Clemont said. Hawlucha flew right at Gallade with his wings held up ready to strike.
"Gallade use confusion."
"Sharp turn now!" Ash shouted. Just before Gallade could get a grip on Hawlucha, he made a sharp turn to the left then resumed flying at Gallade.
"What?" Jimmy said. Gallade tried to lock onto Hawlucha again, but every time he did Hawlucha made a sharp turn and avoided the psychic grip.
"I get it now. Brilliant Ash!" Red shouted.
"Gallade use stored power." Gallade began glowing violet as he stored up Psychic energy.
"Arial ace!" Ash shouted. Hawlucha came in ready to strike when Gallade opened his eyes and unleashed the energy he had been storing. The burst hit and knocked Hawlucha back.
"Psycho cut!" Jimmy shouted. Gallade hit Hawlucha with 3 powerful waves of Psychic energy that hurled the fighting bird into the water.
"Oh no another direct hit." Serena said.
"Come on Hawlucha you can do it!" Ash shouted. Despite his pain, Hawlucha burst out of the water and flew high into the air.
"Sky attack!" Ash shouted.
"Confusion!" Jimmy shouted. Hawlucha came down making several sharp turns, avoiding each of Gallade's psychic grips.
"Stored power!". Gallade began storing energy as Hawlucha got closer.
"Whip your wings!" Ash shouted. Just before Hawlucha could reach Gallade, he whipped his wings forward unleashing a burst of wind and water that hit Gallade and knocked him off balance. As a result he lost focus and lost his stored energy.
Not a moment later Hawlucha hit Gallade with Sky attack and plowed him into the platform.
"Gallade!?" Jimmy shouted. Hawlucha got up and stood proud over a now unconscious Gallade.
"Gallade is unable to battle. The winner is Hawlucha and the blue trainer!"
"Alright we did it!"
"Pika!".
"He won!" Serena shouted very excitedly.
"Gallade return, well we made it pretty far." Jimmy said. Hawlucha flew back and into Ash's arms as the crowd cheered.
Later that day in Rock field Red was facing off against a trainer named Alexander Kartel. He had tan brown hair and brown eyes and was about 16.
Red's Fletchinder had knocked out his Grumpig and Miltank before being knocked unconscious.
"Alright you may have knocked out my pokemon but I've still got my ace. Go Emboar!". A massive fire pig came out and slammed his fists together.
"I choose you Charizard!" Red shouted. His massive Charizard came out and roared.
"The red trainer has chosen and Emboar and the green trainer has chosen a Charizard." The announcer said.
"Go Red!" Korrina shouted.
"Charizard get some altitude then use Air slash." Red said. Charizard quickly kicked off the ground and flew high above the ground.
"Emboar use Smog!". Emboar opened his mouth and let out a thick layer of poison gas towards Charizard.
"Flamethrower, clear the way!" Red shouted. Charizard opened his mouth and blasted the Smog with a powerful jet of fire. As a result the cloud of smoke lit up in fire before he flew through the ashes of the poison.
"Emboar use roll out." Alexander shouted. Emboar curled up into a ball surrounded by rock and rolled at Charizard.
"Steel wing!" Red shouted. Just before the two pokemon could make contact, Red's Charizard turned his wings metal and smashed Emboar. As a result, Emboar's rock ball was smashed open and Emboar skidded backwards across the ground.
The ball of rock had kept Emboar from taking damage, but neither did Charizard.
"Charizard use Dragon claw!" Red shouted.
" Emboar use arm thrust!" . As Charizard came in Emboar raised his arm and smashed it into Charizard's chest forcing him back.
"Emboar use Smog into Rollout!". Emboar formed a large cloud of gas in front of him before flying at Charizard in rock form.
"Charizard fire then get up into the air!" Red shouted. Charizard let out a burst of fire that ignited the gas. Charizard quickly kicked off the ground as the explosion forced Emboar back enough for Charizard to escape the Rollout.
"He's keeping him safe." Korrina said.
"But he's not making much progress though." Coleman said.
"He's doing fine!" Korrina shouted.
"Charizard Air Slash from behind!" Red shouted. Charizard made a sharp turn before flying right at Emboar from behind.
"Emboar Smog then grab him.!" Alexander shouted. Emboar cloaked himself in a thick cloud of poison gas as Charizard flew at him.
"Flamethrower!" Red shouted. Charizard blasted the Smog with a powerful flamethrower that ignited it as Charizard flew into it. Just before Charizard could slash Emboar, the fire pig snatched Charizard in his arms and held him right in front of him.
"Now use Head smash."
"Flamethrower!" Red shouted. Charizard blasted Emboar in the face with a powerful flamethrower. The attack wasn't very effective, but it did force Emboar to let Charizard go.
"Dragon claw then into the air!". Charizard slashed Emboar across the face with his now violet claws before flying up and above him.
"Air slash!". Charizard came right back down and slashed Emboar across his face and body with Air slash.
"Emboar!" Alexander shouted. His Emboar fell backwards and hit the ground with swirly eyes.
"Emboar is unable to battle, the winner is the green trainer." The ref shouted.
"We won! Alright!" Red shouted.
"Grauu!" Charizard roared in victory.
"Yes! I knew he had it!" Korrina shouted.
"Way to go Red!" Ash shouted.
"Emboar return, you battled your hardest." Alexander said.
And so Ash and Red would move on to round 4, the last round before the victory tournament.
Author's note: Sorry if the battles seemed a little repetitive but I have to get them along. Anyway the next chapter will be the final battles before we get to the main stadium. However, I will tell you know that I am only going to show Ash and Red each having 3 battles in the stadium.
The other battles will be not shown because of time constraints. That doesn't mean they will be knocked out after 3 battles, it just means that is all that will be shown.
Also some of you have given long backstories to your characters that you sent me. While I can appreciate that, you have to understand that not all of them will get to be fleshed out as such. Also some will simply not work,
example some of you have sent me characters that you say have won five pokemon leagues before. Well then they'd obviously win wouldn't they.
Look I'm just trying to say if I do use your character I may not be able to make them exactly the way you intended them to be and I'm sorry about that.
However, I'm still willing to accept requests for characters though I should tell you that I'm only looking for two more. After that I know who they will be facing until the end.
So this is your last chance to submit a character that might make an appearance.
